The 83-year-old pope, who suffers from Parkinson's disease..., read only portions of his prepared remarks, including a prayer, and appeared pained at times. He spoke in a strong voice during his homily, but began slurring his words later in the two-hour service.
"I renew, in the hands of Mary, beloved Mother, the gift of myself, of the present and the future: everything will be done according to your will. Supreme Pastor, stay among us so that we can proceed with you securely to the house of the Father."
And in a portion read by an aide, John Paul said, "Help the pope and all those who want to serve Christ."
As the Mass ended on a floodlit square, John Paul asked for a closing hymn dedicated to the Virgin Mary, for whom he has always had a special devotion....
Rev. 2:20-25 says, "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira (meaning dominating female), as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which ye have already hold fast till I come."

Here is what is written in Baraitha Bab. Sanhedrin 43a, probably second century:
On the eve of Passover Yeshu was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, "He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Any one who can say anything in his favour, let him come forward and plead on his behalf." But since nothing was brought forward in his favour he was hanged on the eve of the Passover!
Hi: I have enjoyed your thoughts posted on your Home Page and last three P/Cons. My spirit is excited and agrees with your logic regarding the "Days of Noe" and the signs in the heavens. Current events when watched close also prove provocative to the signs of times Christ has fore told.
Marilyn: Take a look 40 days beyond 17 Cheshvan (40 days after Noah entered the Ark). This brings us real close to the beginning of Chanukkah on 25 Kislev (20 December). As a matter of further interest, Chanukkah runs for eight days Saturday 20th through Saturday 27 December. The Rosh Chodesh (new Moon is 25/26 December). If the Rapture doesn't take place on 12 November, how provocative a thought and witness to those left behind if the Rapture would occur during this time frame. What are the signs in the heavens saying for a possible rapture?
During the 40 day period after Noah entered the Ark the rains came and waves roared. If the rapture is delayed after 12 November, will the signs of the times and current events roar for 40 days while the World continues without repentance?
In closing, I would like to say to some of your readers, "Jesus teaches us an appropriate prayer in Matthew 6:5-15).for our own repentance; Our own forgiveness; Our forgiveness of 'others'; And, Our deliverance from evil (tribulation), from the evil one, all, in accordance with a right proper attitude towards His kingdom to come, and His will that is to be done while all things He fore told come to pass. We as Noah, need to enter into the Ark of Christ and rest while he brings future true restitution to all things. Pray always that this may be done."
May God continue to bless and keep you and your family from the tribulation that is to come suddenly upon the whole earth. May your research continue to be fruitful as always through the power of His Holy Spirit working through you. Agape
P.S. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way (2 Thess. 2:7).
Isa 34:16 says, "SEEK ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them."
I'm seeking and reading. Mat 6:33 says, "But SEEK ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness." I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour, was filled with His Holy Spirit, then began to seek in earnest to understand the prophecies in the book of the LORD. It has been about 43 years now, and I am still seeking.
Mat 7:7 says, "Ask, and it shall be given you; SEEK, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." I asked to understand all that God wanted man to understand about the Bible, all the deep things, everything.
I steadfastly believed Luke 8:17 and Mark 13:23. The former says, "For NOTHING is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad." The latter says, "I have foretold you ALL things."
You quoted Mt. 24:37-39. It says, "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
Notice that it mentions when Noah ENTERED into the Ark, but we know from Gen. 7 that the rain continued for 40 days. We don't know which day the Ark FLOATED UPWARD. The first day, when "the LORD shut him in", was Cheshvan 17 (Gen. 7:11,16), which comes up in 2003 on Wednesday, November 12.
The 40-day block, counted by inclusive reckoning, ends on Kislev 26 (Dec. 21), the second day of Hanukkah. Not using inclusive reckoning, the end would come on Monday, Dec. 22.
That is interesting. It is the first day of winter, the Winter Solstice (meaning stop). It is when the Sun seems to be at it's limit of travel southward from the celestial equator. The daylight portion is the shortest day of the year. The Sun seems to stop and turn to start it's northward journey, and Christ is called "the Sun of righteousness" in Mal. 4:2.
Both Raptures, Pre-Trib and Pre-Wrath, are Days of the Son of Man. Luke 17:22-34 says, "he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see ONE OF THE DAYS OF THE SON OF MAN (i.e., the Pre-Trib Rapture), and ye shall not see it. And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there (Mt. 24:26 says, 'he is in the desert,' i.e., Babylon): go not after them, nor follow them. For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. And AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOE, SO SHALL IT BE ALSO IN THE DAYS (plural) OF THE SON OF MAN. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, UNTIL THE DAY THAT NOE ENTERED INTO THE ARK, AND THE RAIN (symbol of the Spirit of Christ) CAME (OVER A PERIOD OF THE NEXT 40 DAYS), and destroyed them all."
1Pe 1:11 says, "SEARCHING what, or what manner of TIME the SPIRIT OF CHRIST which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." Rom 8:9 says, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD dwell in you. Now if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, he is none of his."
Continuing in Luke 17, "Likewise also AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF LOT; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But THE SAME DAY THAT LOT WENT OUT OF SODOM IT RAINED FIRE AND BRIMSTONE FROM HEAVEN, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed (the Sign of the Son of Man, Mt., 24:30; Rev. 6:14f). In THAT DAY, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left" (at the Pre-Wrath Rapture).
We are the temple of the Spirit of Christ. Haggai 2:15,18,19 is interesting. Haggai means festive, feast, solemnity, turning around. This scripture passage says, "I pray you, CONSIDER (suwm, take, and lebab, heart; i.e., take this to heart) FROM THIS DAY AND UPWARD, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: CONSIDER NOW FROM THIS DAY AND UPWARD, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month (Kislev 24, Dec. 19, 2003), even FROM THE DAY THAT THE FOUNDATION OF THE LORD'S TEMPLE WAS LAID, CONSIDER IT (take it to heart). Is the seed yet in the barn (mguwrah, barn or granary)? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth (nasa, lifted up): FROM THIS DAY WILL I BLESS YOU."
Kislev 24 falls on our Friday, Dec. 19 in 2003, the Eve of Hanukkah. It could be the day of the Rapture. The foundation of the temple in Jerusalem has not yet been laid. The Temple Mount Faithful group have tried repeatedly to lay the cornerstone, and have been stopped. Why? The time was not right. Will it be laid after we are raptured?
The foundations of the heavenly New Jerusalem have on them "the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb" (Rev. 21:14). They are half of the 24 elders that are our Representatives before the throne of God in Rev. 4 and 5. John is one of the 24 elders. When he is raptured (Rev. 4:1), we will be raptured (Rev. 5:9).
John 10:7,9,22,27 says, "Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep....I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture....And it was at Jerusalem the FEAST OF THE DEDICATION (HANUKKAH), and it was winter....MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, and I know them, and THEY FOLLOW ME: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
Eph 2:19-22 says, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but FELLOWCITIZENS WITH THE SAINTS, and of the household of God; And are BUILT UPON THE FOUNDATION OF THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."
Will the foundation of New Jerusalem be built up on Kislev 24, Dec. 19, 2003? It seems possible. If we are still here after Nov. 12, Dec. 19 will be a date to watch.
In Rev 2:28,29, Jesus said of the overcomers, "I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
Eph 2:6 says, "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." That sounds like Gemini, where the Bride and Bridegroom are sitting together in heavenly places. The Bride is holding a harp, the symbol of redemption.
Saturn is in Gemini now. It will be a morning star until about Mar. 8, 2004 (corrected date). I hope our day of redemption, the Pre-Trib Rapture, will come between now and then. Agape
Hanukkah (or Chanukah) - “The Feast of Dedication” is an eight day festival of lights to celebrate the ancient victory of the Maccabees over the Syrians. The Feast of Dedication is popularly known as the “Festival of Lights.” This festival is associated with the miracle in which the lamps stayed lit for “eight” days while the Temple in Jerusalem was rededicated, although there was only enough oil to fuel the Temple's lamps for only “one” day....
SOME GOOD TEACHERS SAY "YES," BUT IS THAT WHAT SCRIPTURE INDICATES?
In "Line Upon Line, link, Eddie Chumney said, "Learn that the first seven years of the tribulation period is the first seven years of the 1,000 year Messianic Age."
I disagree. Elijah must come before the Day of the LORD, the 1,000-year kingdom of Yeshua haMashiach, begins. Mal. 4:5 says, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT AND DREADFUL DAY OF THE LORD." The dreadful day is the first day of the Millennium. It is when the millennial Day of the LORD comes.
On the Eve of Trumpets, Joel 1:15 declares, "Alas for the day! for THE DAY OF THE LORD is at hand, and AS A DESTRUCTION FROM THE ALMIGHTY SHALL IT COME." The shortened Tribulation does not come as destruction from the Almighty. It ends that way. The Day of God's Wrath is the last day of the shortened Tribulation and the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord.
The first day of the millennial Day of the Lord will be the Feast of Trumpets that will be like no other day--ever.
Joel 2:1,2 says, "Blow ye the TRUMPET in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the DAY OF THE LORD COMETH, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; THERE HATH NOT BEEN EVER THE LIKE, NEITHER SHALL BE ANY MORE AFTER IT, even to the years of many generations."
Dan. 12:1 says, "at that time (when the False Prophet will come to his end, Dan. 11:45) shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and THERE SHALL BE A TIME OF TROUBLE, SUCH AS NEVER WAS SINCE THERE WAS A NATION EVEN TO THAT SAME TIME: and at that time thy people (the 144,000, Rev. 7:1-8,14) shall be delivered (malat, ESCAPE, LEAP OUT, i.e., at the Pre-Wrath Rapture), every one that shall be found written in the book."

Rev. Roger Best quotes John Walvoord and Dwight Pentecost, then gives his own opinion.
John Walvoord
"The Rapture Question" (pp. 162-163)
"The Day of the Lord as presented in the Old and New Testament includes rather than follows the tremendous events of the tribulation period. In a word, THE DAY OF THE LORD BEGINS BEFORE THE GREAT TRIBULATION."
J. Dwight Pentecost
"Things To Come" (p. 174)
"The term THE DAY OF THE LORD, or that day, is not a term which applies to a twenty-four hour period, but rather the whole program of events, INCLUDING THE TRIBULATION PERIOD, the second advent program, and the entire millennial age."
Rev. Roger Best
"Noah and Lot. They were both rescued, Noah in the ark and Lot from the destruction of Sodom, and then destruction came upon the unaware and unprepared world. Note what Jesus says in (Luke) 17:30, "It will be just the same on the day that the son of Man is revealed." We will be rescued in what we call THE RAPTURE, AND THEN THE DAY OF THE LORD'S WRATH will be poured out on this old world."
I agree that the Rapture will come before the Wrath of God comes. However, I don't think they will come back to back. They sandwich the Tribulation between them. To me, the DAYS OF NOAH are distinctly different from the DAYS OF LOT. Rain fell in the former. Fire fell in the latter.
II Peter 3:5-7 says, "this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the WORD of God (Yahweh of hosts, the Redeemer, Isa. 44:6) the heavens were OF OLD, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with WATER, perished (i.e., AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH): But the heavens and the earth, which ARE NOW (i.e., AS IN THE DAYS OF LOT), by the same word are kept in store, RESERVED UNTO FIRE against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."
Angels are not mentioned in the Days of Noah. Angels are mentioned as gathering the saints from one end of HEAVEN to the other, and from one end of EARTH to the other at the Second Rapture. Respectively, I think the days of Noah and Lot represent the two Raptures, Pre- Trib and Pre-Wrath.
I Thess. 4:16,17 tells of the FIRST TRUMP OF GOD, the Pre-Trib Rapture. It says, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
At the time of the second Rapture, angels gather those that went to Heaven in the Pre-Trib Rapture from one end of Heaven to the other. They are gathered to the general assembly in Heaven (Heb. 12:23). At the same time, the angels gather the Tribulation saints from the Earth. Mark 13:27 says, "And then shall he send his ANGELS, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the EARTH to the uttermost part of HEAVEN."
The second, or Pre-Wrath Rapture, is THE LAST TRUMP OF GOD. I Cor. 15:51,52 says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
These two trumps of God were typified by the two silver trumpets Moses was told to make. Nu. 10:1-3 says, "the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee TWO TRUMPETS of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them (i.e., both), all the assembly (both those from Heaven and those from Earth, Mark 13:27) shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And if they blow but with ONE TRUMPET, then the princes (i.e., the elders, the 12 patriarchs and 12 apostles), which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee."
II Peter 3:5-7 mentions two judgments. They come at the same time as the two end-time Raptures, one as the days of Noah, the other as the days of Lot. It says, "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished (in the days of Noah): But the heavens and the earth, which are NOW, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto FIRE (as in the days of Lot) against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."
II Peter 3:10 tells us what will happen right after the Second Rapture. It says, "the DAY OF THE LORD will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be BURNED UP." This day of fire is as the days of Lot. However, it will be three times as intense.
2Pe 3:12 says, "Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the DAY OF GOD (the 1st day of the millennial DAY OF THE LORD), wherein the heavens being on FIRE shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?"
Rev. 16:14,15 says, "For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle (Armageddon) of that great DAY OF GOD ALMIGHTY (the millennial DAY OF THE LORD). Behold, I come as a thief (i.e., at the 2nd Rapture). Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame."
Zep 1:14-18 says, "The great DAY OF THE LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the DAY OF THE LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is A DAY OF WRATH, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the DAY OF THE LORD'S WRATH; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land."
Revelation 16:14 says, "For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great DAY OF GOD ALMIGHTY" (sounds like Armageddon, after the return of Christ at the Second Advent.
Isa. 2:12,19 says, "In the DAY OF THE LORD OF HOSTS (Christ, Isa. 44:6) shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low...And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth."
Isa. 13:6,9 says, "Howl ye; for the DAY OF THE LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty (Christ, Rev. 1:8).... Behold, the DAY OF THE LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it."
Zeph. 1:14-15 says, "Near is the great DAY OF THE LORD, near and coming very quickly; listen, the DAY OF THE LORD! In it the warrior cries out bitterly. A DAY OF WRATH (ebrah, overwhelming fury, rage) is that day, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness."
THE DAY OF CHRIST IS NOT THE DAY OF THE LORD
The Day of Christ is the Rapture.
I Cor. 1:7,8 says, "So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST" (the Pre-Trib Rapture).
Phi 1:6 says, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the DAY OF JESUS CHRIST" (the Pre-Trib Rapture).
Phil. 1:10 says, "That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the DAY OF CHRIST" (the Pre-Trib Rapture).
Phi 2:16 says, "Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the DAY OF CHRIST (the Pre-Trib Rapture), that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."
I Cor. 1:8 says, "Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST."
II Cor. 1:14 says, "As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are our's in the DAY OF THE LORD JESUS."
Phil. 1:6, 10; 2:16 says, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the DAY OF JESUS CHRIST....That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth...Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the DAY OF CHRIST, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."
Eph. 4:30 says, "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the DAY OF REDEMPTION."
II Peter 3:12 says, "Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the DAY OF GOD, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat". This is the first day of the Millennium.
1Co 5:5 says, "To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the DAY OF THE LORD JESUS" (sounds like the 2nd Rapture).
