Iraq: The Rebirth of Babylon
By Joseph Chambers - www.raptureready.com
This great prophecy in Isaiah is being fulfilled as I write. This nation will become the center of a one-world government. The United Nations is already discussing moving their headquarters to Babylon. Let me quote the most recent discussion concerning this fact. "Triggered by the Iraq War, informed sources say that the international Quartet of world powers (the US, UN, European Union and Russia) has drafted a proposal to transfer the seat of the United Nations to Baghdad (ancient Babel or Babylon)! The move would relieve the space constraints of the New York headquarters while also freeing it from the physical jurisdiction of the US. Though it’s only a draft of the Quartet, plans appear to be in the works to establish a third and perhaps final worldwide organization." (Israel Today, December 2003) (Pre-Trib Perspectives, March 2004) The United Nations is pagan to the heart. They hate America and Israel; and our nation will be blessed to be free of their influence.
BABYLON IS BEING REBUILT, AS PROPHESIED
By Joel C Rosenberg
June 28, 2009...The State Department and the World Monuments Fund have committed $700,000 to the project, which will see U.S. and Iraqi experts develop a plan to preserve the site and develop a local tourism industry, said Diane Siebrandt, the U.S. embassy’s cultural heritage officer. The Babylon project is one of several that the State Department is involved in to conserve ancient sites in partnership with the Iraqi government, she said.
Two people with expertise developing tourism plans for historic sites in third-world nations, Gina Haney and Jeff Allen, have been employed by the State Department to run the U.S. side of the project. They visited the ruins for the first time last weekend....
As Iraq becomes increasingly stable and secure, direct foreign investment is going to flood in, and Iraq will become the wealthiest country on the planet. Exxon Mobil, the world’s largest company, for example, is positioning itself to become a major investor in the Iraqi energy sector. Other major oil companies are doing the same. The Iraqi government in recent months has been developing investment incentive packages to draw in such companies.

Pope: Bone Fragments Found in Tomb Are Paul's
June 28, 2009 - Benedict said archaeologists recently unearthed and opened the white marble sarcophagus located under the Basilica of St. Paul's Outside the Walls in Rome, which for some 2,000 years has been believed by the faithful to be the tomb of St. Paul.
Benedict said scientists had conducted carbon dating tests on bone fragments found inside the sarcophagus and confirmed that they date from the first or second century.
"This seems to confirm the unanimous and uncontested tradition that they are the mortal remains of the Apostle Paul," Benedict said, announcing the findings at a service in the basilica to mark the end of the Vatican's Paoline year, in honor of the apostle.

'Ark of the Covenant' about to be unveiled?
Ethiopian patriarch tells pope he will show artifact to world
World Net Daily, Posted: June 24, 2009
According to Pauolos, the actual Ark has been kept in one church, but to defend the treasure, a copy was placed in every single church in Ethiopia.
Thanks. I hope it is the real one. I'm convinced that the Ethiopians think it is. The earthly one was made according to the pattern of the one in Heaven.
Rev 11:17-19 says, "We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast REIGNED. And the nations were angry, and THY WRATH IS COME, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest GIVE REWARD unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and THERE WAS SEEN IN HIS TEMPLE THE ARK OF HIS TESTAMENT: AND THERE WERE LIGHTNINGS, AND VOICES, AND THUNDERINGS, AND AN EARTHQUAKE, AND GREAT HAIL."
I take it that the two stone tablets represent the two asteroids of Rev. 8:8-11. If so, it seems that they will get dumped out on the Day of God's Wrath.
Rev 8:8-12 says, "the second angel sounded, and as it were (symbolic language) a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea (the Mediterranean): and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven (i.e., Satan's home), burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
Isa. 22:16-19 says, "What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?
Isa 22:17 Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee. He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house. And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down."
I take it that this asteroid is what the flaming sword of Gen. 3:24 represented. It says, "So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims (planets, i.e., Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), and a flaming sword (the asteroid Satan has lived on since his planet Rahab split apart) which turned every way, to keep the way of (or to) the tree of life." It is now in Heaven. Agape
Incoming e-mail, Re: HIGH DAY SABBATHS
Go read Lev. 23. Nisan 15 is the first day of Unleavened bread. It consisted of a night portion and a day portion. The night portion of Nisan 15 is the night the death angel PASSED OVER Egypt.
I have already explained to you the ''connection'' between Nisan 14 and Nisan 15......Nisan 14 is sometimes called the Passover because the lambs and Jesus were killed on that day.
Yet.....the Lambs were eaten starting the night portion of Nisan 15 WHICH IS THE FIRST DAY OF UB. As I said, there is no commanded assembly on Nisan 14........YOU DO SEE THAT DON'T YOU.....see Leve. 23.
So the Jews call Nisan 15 the Passover day and they also know that the lambs were killed on the 14th of Nisan. The lambs were thus killed and prepared on Nisan 14.......which came to be known as the Preparation of the Passover...........think Meal!!!!!!!!
There is NO.......none......nonya......provision for Nisan 13 having to do with anything .......no lambs slain........no preparation......nothing.........and there was no commanded assembly on Nisan 14.
In the gospels they did not want to defile themselves because of the High Day Sabbath of Nisan 15.
Repeat........Nisan 14 is NOT a high day sabbath like you have stated in the past.
One day you will see this and say thanks.......
> > Nisan 15 is the first day of Unleavened bread. It consisted of a night portion and a day portion. The night portion of Nisan 15 is the night the death angel PASSED OVER Egypt.
You are off by one day. If you had been in Egypt, you would have died at midnight on Nisan 14 before you could have killed your Passover lamb at midnight on Nisan 15. To me, Scripture is clear on this.
How can you arrive at your position when Lev 23:4-6 plainly says, "In the FOURTEENTH DAY OF THE FIRST MONTH AT EVEN (the beginning of the NIGHT PORTION) IS THE LORD'S PASSOVER. And on THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF THE SAME MONTH IS THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD."
Of the Israelites, Nu 33:2,3 says, "they departed from Rameses in the first month, ON THE FIFTEENTH DAY of the first month; ON THE MORROW AFTER THE PASSOVER the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians. For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them".
Why doesn't that convince you that the Passover was Nisan 14? The 15th was the next day after the Passover. Doesn't that leave you without a leg to stand on? The Egyptians buried all their firstborn.
> > the Lambs were eaten starting the night portion of Nisan 15 WHICH IS THE FIRST DAY OF UB. As I said, there is no commanded assembly on Nisan 14........YOU DO SEE THAT DON'T YOU.....see Leve. 23.
NO, I DON'T SEE THAT. Scripture says that all 7 feasts are holy convocations. Lev 23:2,4,5 says, "Concerning the FEASTS of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be HOLY CONVOCATIONS, even these are my FEASTS....These are the FEASTS of the LORD, even HOLY CONVOCATIONS, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the FOURTEENTH DAY of the first month at even (the beginning of the night portion of Nisan 14) IS THE LORD'S PASSOVER."
Maybe you don't know that the word translated convocations is Strong's "miqra," something called out, A PUBLIC MEETING, A REHEARSAL, AN ASSEMBLY, A CONVOCATION.
> > Repeat........Nisan 14 is NOT a high day sabbath like you have stated in the past.
I have to choose what the Bible says over what people say. John 19:31 says, "The Jews therefore, because IT WAS THE PREPARATION (i.e., Nisan 13), that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day (Nisan 14, Passover), (for THAT SABBATH DAY WAS AN HIGH DAY [mega],) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."
To me, the PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER (Nisan 13) WAS CRUCIFIXION DAY. The next day was A SABBATH DAY, "AN HIGH DAY," the PASSOVER on which no work could be done and no Sanhedrin could have met. They didn't meet on a weekly Sabbath, let alone a HIGH SABBATH.
Both Nisan 14 (Passover) and 15 (Feast of Unleavened Bread) are feasts, holy convocations, sabbaths of rest. No work could be done on either one, or on Firstfruits.
Since Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits are eliminated, the Crucifixion had to be on the PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER, Nisan 13. The legs of the thieves were broken that they could be taken away before Passover began. Jesus was already dead, so they buried him on THE PREPARATION of the Passover, Nisan 13, before the Passover, Nisan 14, began.
His 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth were Thursday, Nisan 13 (day), Friday, Nisan 14 (night then day), Saturday, Nisan 15 (night then day), and Sunday (night).
In the beginning, you said,
> > Jesus was the ''Lords' passover'' and He like the lambs was slain on Nisan 14............which is the ''preparation'' of the Passover lamb.
> > The Jews HAVE KNOWN THIS SINCE EXODUS.......JUST LIKE THEY KNOW WHICH DAY IS THE SABBATH.
At first, I thought the unbelieving Jews might have changed the day they kept Passover on purpose, because they did not accept Jesus as their Messiah. It looks like they lost the count of the Jubilees too. But now that I see how easy it is for you to skip a day in your thinking, and you believe in Jesus, I can see how their switching one calendar for another that started the day at a different time, and later for another, that started the day at another different time, could have warped their thinking without their being aware of it.
After all, because we go to work in the morning, and home in the evening, morning is so often thought of as the beginning of the day and evening as the end of the day. It isn't easy for us to think in terms of days starting in the evening. When days start and end with evening, which evening in a series is meant is even harder to pick out. Therefore, we need to be charitable to those who are confused, or who have come to different conclusions after much study. After all, we can't pound anything into anyone's head. Agape
Incoming e-mail, Re: HIGH DAY SABBATHS//IT IS THE LORD'S PASSOVER
No, I am not off by one day.
Here's something that may start you on the correct understanding.........In Lev. 23 you will not the phrase ''it is the Lord's Passover''....... and that is referring to Nisan 14.......but not the DAY.
You see, it is the Lamb Who is the ''Lord's Passover''.
Keep reading or do a look up and you will see later in referring to the lamb that is to be eaten.......during the night of Nisan 15....that the text AGAIN refers to the ''it is the Lord's Passover''.........
Thus you can see that it is the Lamb that is the Lord's Passover......not the day.
And as I have mentioned to you this lamb was slain on Nisan 14.......''it is the Lord's passover'' and eaten the night of the 15th of Nisan.......where it is also called 'the Lord's Passover''.
Keep studying. Once you see it you will thank me!!
This is why/how Nisan 14 can be referred to as Both the Passover and the Preparation of the Passover. If you are not careful you will simplistically assume ...........''hmm......since Nisan 14 is sometimes called the Passover.......then the preparation of the Passover is Nisan 13....'' but that is definitely incorrect.
Hope you had a nice 4th. Now, where were we?
Here are the basics: you said,
> > Nisan 15 is the first day of Unleavened bread. It consisted of a night portion and a day portion. The night portion of Nisan 15 is the night the death angel PASSED OVER Egypt.
> > Nisan 14 is sometimes called the Passover because the lambs and Jesus were killed on that day.
> > Yet.....the Lambs were eaten starting the night portion of Nisan 15 WHICH IS THE FIRST DAY OF UB. As I said, there is no commanded assembly on Nisan 14........YOU DO SEE THAT DON'T YOU.....see Leve. 23.
It is plain to me that Nisan 14 was a day of commanded assembly. Lev 23:4-6 (LITV) says, "These are appointed seasons of Jehovah, HOLY GATHERINGS which you shall proclaim in their appointed seasons: In the FIRST MONTH, on the FOURTEENTH of the month, BETWEEN THE EVENINGS is the PASSOVER (a 24-hour day) to Jehovah. And on the FIFTEENTH of this month (another 24-hour day) is the FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD to Jehovah".
I wondered what BETWEEN THE EVENINGS means, so I looked up where it is used. The meaning may be determined by the context. In the above, it seems to mean from the even of Nisan 13 to the even of Nisan 14, one 24-hour day.
Lev. 23:32 (LITV) is our example of the length of a feast day, 24 hours. Of the Day of Atonement, Tishri 10, it says, "IT IS A SABBATH OF REST to you, and you shall humble your souls IN THE NINTH OF THE MONTH AT EVENING; FROM EVENING (i.e., from 6 PM on the 9th) UNTIL EVENING (6 PM on the 10th) you shall keep your sabbath."
Here are other places where between the evenings is used. Ex 12:6 (LITV) says, "And it (the Passover lamb) shall be for you to keep until the FOURTEENTH day of this month. And all the assembly of the congregation of Israel shall KILL IT BETWEEN THE EVENINGS." They didn't have the leeway to kill the lamb at just any time during Nisan 14, because death to the firstborn was at midnight on the 14th. They had to roast and eat the lamb before midnight, the 6th hour of Nisan 14.
So what does BETWEEN THE EVENINGS MEAN?
It is from "ben ha arbayim," of which the Pharisees and the Sadducees could not agree on the meaning. The controversy over the proper time is long standing. The Pharisees defined it as ANY TIME FROM AFTERNOON TO SUNSET (i.e., 3 to 6 PM). The Sadducees, Karaites and Samaritans interpreted it as THE TIME FROM SUNSET TO COMPLETE DARKNESS (i.e., 6 PM to 9 PM).
Could they both be right? Can it mean from 3 PM on Nisan 13 to 9 PM on Nisan 14? Let's see where it is used.
Ex 16:12 (LITV) says, "I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel. Speak to them, saying, BETWEEN THE EVENINGS you shall eat flesh; and in the morning you shall be satisfied with bread; and you shall know that I am Jehovah your God." That could be the dusky period from 3 to 6 PM on one day and 6 to 9 PM on the next day.
Ex 29:38, 39 (LITV) says, "this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs daily, sons of a year, continually. The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer BETWEEN THE EVENINGS." This is probably at 3 PM, as when Jesus died about 3 PM. Some believe that there were 2 evenings to each day, at the going down of the sun, i.e., from noon to 3 PM and from 3 PM to 6 PM. Let's see what else turns up.
Ex 29:41 (LITV) says, "And you shall offer the second lamb BETWEEN THE EVENINGS; you shall do to it like the morning food offering and its drink offering (i.e., offered at 9 AM), for a soothing fragrance, a fire offering to Jehovah." The 2nd offering almost has to be about 3 PM.
Ex 30:7,8 (LITV) says, "Aaron shall burn incense of perfume on it morning by morning; when he dresses the lamps he shall burn it. And WHEN AARON SETS UP THE LAMPS BETWEEN THE EVENINGS he shall burn it, a PERPETUAL incense before the face of Jehovah for your generations." This could be at 3 PM.
Num 9:1-5 (LITV) says, "Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, Also the sons of Israel shall prepare the PASSOVER in its appointed season. IN THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF THIS MONTH, BETWEEN THE EVENINGS, you shall prepare it according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances. And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel to prepare the Passover. And they prepared the Passover in the first month ON THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF THE MONTH, BETWEEN THE EVENINGS, in the wilderness of Sinai". This could be from 6 PM to 9 PM on the 14th.
As for the daily offerings, Num 28:4-8 (LITV) says, "You shall offer the one lamb in the morning (i.e., at 9 AM), and you shall offer the other lamb BETWEEN THE TWO EVENINGS (i.e., at 3 PM); and a tenth of an ephah of flour for a food offering mixed with beaten oil, a fourth of a hin; a continual burnt offering which was performed in Mount Sinai for a soothing fragrance, a fire offering to Jehovah; and its drink offering, a fourth of a hin for the one lamb; pour a drink offering of strong drink to Jehovah in the sanctuary. And you shall offer the other lamb BETWEEN THE EVENINGS (i.e., at 3 PM), even as the food offering of the morning, and as its drink offering, you shall offer as a sacrifice made by fire, a soothing fragrance to Jehovah."
Num 28:3,4 (LITV) says, "This is the fire offering which you shall offer to Jehovah, two yearling lambs without blemish, day by day, as a continual burnt offering. You shall offer the one lamb in the morning (i.e., at 9 AM), and you shall offer the other lamb BETWEEN THE TWO EVENINGS" (i.e., at 3 PM). Jesus died about 3 PM, at the same time the 3 PM sacrifice died every day.
Could the Crucifixion have been at 3 PM on Nisan 13, 14 or 15? I say Nisan 13, because it was on the preparation of the Passover. John 19:14,15 (LITV) says, "it was the Preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, Behold, your King! But they cried out, Away, Away! Crucify Him!" The Preparation of the Passover was Crucifixion Day.
Others think Nisan 14 was Crucifixion Day. I think we have to eliminate the 15th. The death of the firstborn Egyptians came at midnight on Nisan 14. Dead men can't sacrifice a lamb.
1Co 5:7 (LITV) says, "Then purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us." There is a definite link between the Passover Feast and the Crucifixion.
In your last email, you said,
> > In Lev. 23...''it is the Lord's Passover''...is referring to Nisan 14.......but not the DAY.
> > You see, it is the Lamb Who is the ''Lord's Passover''.
> > ...in referring to the lamb that is to be eaten...during the night of Nisan 15...the text AGAIN refers to the ''it is the Lord's Passover''.........
> > Thus you can see that it is the Lamb that is the Lord's Passover......not the day.
> > this lamb was slain on Nisan 14.......''it is the Lord's passover'' and eaten the night of the 15th of Nisan.......where it is also called 'the Lord's Passover''.
Lev 23:5 (KJV) says, "In the FOURTEENTH DAY OF THE FIRST MONTH at even is the LORD'S PASSOVER."
Lev 23:5 (LITV) says, "In the first month, ON THE FOURTEENTH OF THE MONTH, BETWEEN THE EVENINGS IS THE PASSOVER TO JEHOVAH."
The Passover lamb was to be sacrificed on Nisan 14, the Feast of Passover, not on Nisan 15, the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Ex 12:6-14 (LITV) says, "And it (the lamb) shall be for you to keep until the FOURTEENTH DAY of this month. And all the assembly of the congregation of Israel shall KILL IT BETWEEN THE EVENINGS. And they shall take from the blood, and put it on the two side doorposts and on the upper doorpost, on the houses in which they eat it. And they shall EAT THE FLESH IN THIS NIGHT (Nisan 14), roasted with fire, and they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Do not eat it raw, or at all boiled in water, but roasted with fire; its head with its legs and with its inward parts. And you shall not leave any of it until morning (i.e., of Nisan 14). And you shall burn with fire that left from it until morning. And you shall eat it this way: with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. IT IS THE PASSOVER TO JEHOVAH. And I will pass through in the land of Egypt IN THIS NIGHT (i.e., at midnight on Nisan 14). And I will strike every first-born in the land of Egypt, from man even to livestock. And I will execute judgments on all the gods of Egypt. I am Jehovah! And the blood shall be a sign to you, on the houses where you are. And I will see the blood, and I will PASS OVER YOU. And the plague shall not be on you to destroy, when I strike in the land of Egypt. And THE DAY (Nisan 14) SHALL BE A MEMORIAL FOR YOU. AND YOU SHALL CELEBRATE IT AS A FEAST TO JEHOVAH, FOR YOUR GENERATIONS. YOU SHALL CELEBRATE IT AS A LAW FOREVER."
Since Scripture shows that the Passover Feast is on the 14th, no part of it can be on the 15th. That day is commanded to be the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
I think Scripture is plain. There are actually three feast days right together. The Feast of Passover is Nisan 14.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread is Nisan 15.
The Feast of Firstfruits is Nisan 16.
All three are Sabbaths. No work can be done on those three days. Therefore, the Preparation of the Passover has to be Nisan 13. All the food that is to be eaten on the next three days has to be prepared on Nisan 13. Even the BEDIKAT HAMETZ, the search for leaven was to be done on Nisan 13.
When someone couldn't keep Passover on Nisan 14, they were to keep it on Iyar 14. 2Ch 30:15 (LITV) says, "And they killed the passover offering on the FOURTEENTH of the second month."
"(Heb. bedikat h?amets). Ceremony performed in accordance with biblical law on the night before Passover eve (i.e., the night of 13-14 Nisan".
Josephus said, “Any one may hence learn how very great piety we exercise towards God and the observance of his laws, since the priests were not at all hindered from their sacred ministrations by their fear during the siege, but did still twice each day, in the morning and about the ninth hour, offer their sacrifices on the altar” (Antiquities, 14, 4, 3).
The Israelites were to keep the Feast of Passover on Nisan 14 and the Feast of Unleavened Bread on Nisan 15. By 30 AD, the year of the Crucifixion. there were thousands of lambs to be sacrificed. They had to start about 3 PM on Nisan 13 to have them ready to be roasted by fire soon after 6 PM, when Nisan 14 began. Jesus was crucified on Nisan 13. He died about 3 PM, as the Passover lambs were being killed at the Temple. He was put in the stone tomb about the same time the lambs started to roast.
John 19:14 (KJV) says, "IT WAS THE PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!" Jesus was crucified shortly thereafter."
John 18:28 says, "Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment (i.e., by the bedrock outcropping in Fort Antonaia): and it was early; and THEY THEMSELVES WENT NOT INTO THE JUDGMENT HALL, LEST THEY SHOULD BE DEFILED; BUT THAT THEY MIGHT EAT THE PASSOVER."
There were steps going up from the Temple court to Fort Antonia at the northwest corner of the Temple court. They stayed on the Temple side of the dividing wall between the Temple court and Fort Antonia.
The Tractate Sanhedrin 43a, in the Babylonian Talmud, says, "ON THE EVE OF PESAH THEY HUNG JESHU (THE NAZARENE). And the crier went forth before him forty days (saying), [Jeshu the Nazarene] goeth forth to be stoned, because he hath practiced magic and deceived and led astray Israel. Any one who knoweth aught in his favour, let him come and declare concerning him. And they found naught in his favour, And THEY HUNG HIM ON THE EVE OF PESAH."
Passover was Nisan 14. Passover Eve was Nisan 13. According to the Jewish Calendar laws, Nisan 13 can only fall on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. This eliminates a Wednesday Crucifixion.
Seyffarth, Thurman, Aldrich and Westcott picked a Thursday date. Africanus, Bengel, Cresswell and Rusk thought it was on Thursday, April 6, 30 AD. I agree with them. The Catholic Church insists that it was April 7, 30 AD. They only missed it one day. They thought it was on Friday.
Jesus was buried on Nisan 13. Mark 15:42-45 (KJV) says, "when the even (i.e., between 3 and 6 PM) was come, because IT WAS THE PREPARATION, THAT IS, THE DAY BEFORE THE SABBATH (THE PASSOVER SABBATH), Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph."
According to Mt. 12:40, Jesus spent "three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." They were Thursday (day), Friday (night then day), Saturday (night then day), and Sunday (night).
In John 2:19, Jesus said, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." He was speaking of his body. The three days were Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In Luke 24:20,21, the two men on the road to Emmaus said, "today is the third day since these things were done." Those days were Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everything works out perfectly.
Friday (Passover), Saturday (Unleavened Bread), and Sunday (Firstfruits) were all Sabbaths. Agape
