Jerry Golden "REPORT" 4/2/2003

Connie and I were in the Negev Desert this past Sabbath and we took these pictures for you. Keep in mind that IT HAS BEEN MANY YEARS SINCE THE NEGEV DESERT HAS BEEN THIS GREEN OR SEEN THIS MANY WILD FLOWERS BLOOMING. These pictures were taken near Be’er Sheva and Arad in the northern region of the Negev.

This is a beautiful view looking east towards the Jordan Mountains, all of what you can see is usually very gray and without color, IT IS A DESERT. BUT TODAY IT IS FULL OF WILD FLOWERS AND LOTS OF VERY GREEN GRASS....

THE WINTER RAINS APPEAR TO HAVE ENDED - there is only a small chance of precipitation over the next ten days - and Israel's water experts are engaged in summing up the windfall of the past four months.

The Kinneret, Israel's largest reservoir and benchmark for its water supply, began the rainy season at a dangerously low 214.42 meters below sea level - almost 1.5 meters lower than the "red line" level the government had previously deemed as endangering the water table. RECORD RAINFALL levels throughout the country, however, have already restored a full 4.28 meters to the Kinneret, and it currently stands at 210.14 meters below sea level...

My comments

The unusual desert bloom was photographed Mar. 29, 2003. That was Ed's birthday, so I should be able to remember when this happened. Maybe these wildflowers and the end of the winter rains are signs that the Rapture will be this coming Pentecost, June 7, 2003.

When Israel came out of Egypt, the desert must have had green grass like this to feed their flocks. Therefore, they must have had ample winter rains preceding their Exodus. What about our Exodus? Wouldn't winter rains precede it too?

Song of Solomon 2:10-14 says, "My beloved (Christ) spake, and said unto me, RISE UP, MY LOVE, MY FAIR ONE, AND COME AWAY (the Pre-Trib Rapture of the Bride of Christ). For, lo, the winter is past (it's spring), THE RAIN IS OVER AND GONE; THE FLOWERS APPEAR ON THE EARTH; the time of the singing of birds (omit the added word 'birds', this is the new song sung by the raptured in Rev. 5:9) is come, and the voice of the turtle (lit., turtledove, symbol of the Spirit of God) is heard in our land (they arrive in April); The fig tree putteth forth her green figs (after Passion Week, for 'the time of figs was not yet' in Mark 11:13), and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. ARISE, MY LOVE, MY FAIR ONE, AND COME AWAY. O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock (i.e., in Christ), in the secret places of the stairs." Omit the added word "places." This is the secret of the stairs, like Jacob's ladder that went from Earth to Heaven), let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely."

Marines find underground nuke complex
Captain guarding facility: 'How did the world miss all of this?'

4-9-03 - U.S. Marines have located an underground nuclear complex near Baghdad that apparently went unnoticed by U.N. weapons inspectors.

Hidden beneath the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission's Al-Tuwaitha facility, 18 miles south of the capital, is a vast array of warehouses and bombproof offices that could contain the "smoking gun" sought by intelligence agencies, reported the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

"I've never seen anything like it, ever," said Marine Capt. John Seegar. "How did the world miss all of this? Why couldn't they see what was happening here?"

Marine nuclear and intelligence experts say that at least 14 buildings at Al-Tuwaitha indicate high levels of radiation and some show lethal amounts of nuclear residue, according to the Pittsburgh daily. The site was examined numerous times by U.N. weapons inspectors, who found no evidence of weapons of mass destruction....

"On days when the inspectors were scheduled to visit, only the fuel fabrication rooms were open to them," he said in the report, written with Khidhir Hamza, an Iraqi nuclear engineer who defected in 1994. "Usually, employees were told to take to their rooms so that the inspectors did not see an unusually large number of people."...

The offices underground are replete with videos and pictures that indicate the complex was built largely over the last four years, the Tribune-Review said.

FWD. What say you, reg this note?
Did you know that David Meyers Last Trumpet Newsletter you sent to me and the people that write the Five Doves... DO NOT believe as Jim Bramlett and a multitude of others who preach and teach and promote ,,,and believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture? I do not either as it is totally a false and misleading doctrine of the pit..These who teach it are the blind leaders of the blind that jesus spoke of and they all shall be rooted up! Matthew 15:14 Jesus' words not mine...Be blessed to know the truth amen.

My reply

Time will tell. I can see two Raptures in Scripture, the Pre-Trib Rapture and the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Both groups of saints have to be in Heaven before God's Wrath hits Earth. They will receive their rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ at the same time the unbelievers on Earth will receive their just rewards for their unbelief (Rev. 11:18).

Joh 5:24 says, "Verily, verily (Amen, amen, so be it, so be it), I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION; but is passed from death unto life." 1Th 5:9 says, "For God hath NOT APPOINTED US TO WRATH, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."

John is caught up to Heaven in Rev. 4:1, before Jesus is given the seven-sealed Title Deed of the Earth (Rev. 5:1). Therefore, John is caught up to Heaven before the first seal on the Title Deed of the Earth is broken in Rev. 6. The Tribulation starts when the first seal is broken.

After the Pre-Trib Rapture, John is one of the 24 elders clothed in white raiment seen sitting on their thrones "round about the throne" (of God) in Heaven. John is only one of the 24 elders. All together, the elders are the patriarchs of "the twelve tribes of the children of Israel" and "the twelve apostles of the Lamb" (Rev. 21:12-14). Since John is caught up to Heaven when Jesus says, "Come up hither" (Rev. 4:1), the other 11 apostles and 12 patriarchs of Israel are caught up at the same time, before the Tribulation begins when the first seal is broken in Rev. 6. The 24 elders sit on thrones around God's throne (Rev. 4:4).

If the patriarchs and apostles are caught up to Heaven in Rev. 4:1, so are all those "clothed in white raiment" (Rev. 4:4). Heb 11:40 says, "God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect." The 12 patriarchs cannot be made perfect until the Bride of Christ is made perfect. Since the apostles, including John, are caught up to Heaven before the Tribulation starts in Rev. 6, the Bride of Christ will be caught up to Heaven at the same time that John is caught up.

All 24 elders are all Israelites. However, the saints in Heaven before the Tribulation are out of every nation. The 24 elders are our Representatives in the Government of God in Heaven. The 24 present "the prayers of saints" (Rev. 5:8) to God, because they are our Representatives.

Rev 5:8-10 says, "And when he (Jesus) had taken the book (The Title Deed of the Earth), the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they (the saints in Heaven) sung a NEW SONG, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood OUT OF EVERY KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, AND NATION; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall (in the future) reign on (epi, over) the earth."

There is one other time that a group of saints are caught up to Heaven. Rev. 7:9 says, "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, OF ALL NATIONS, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with WHITE ROBES, and palms in their hands." This second group, larger than the first, will stand before God's throne in Heaven just before the Wrath of God hits Earth.

The 24 elders are all of one nation--Israel. Those "OUT OF EVERY KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, AND NATION" (Rev. 5:9) include all the saints wearing white raiment that are caught up to Heaven before the Tribulation.

Up to the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture, believers are to "pray always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE all these things that shall (after the Escape, the Pre-Trib Rapture) come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:36 ).

The 24 elders get crowns before the Tribulation begins in Rev. 6. So do the Philadelphians, the group for whom Jesus has no words of condemnation.

In Rev. 3:10-13, Jesus said, "Because thou (Philadelphian overcomers) hast kept the word of my patience (hupomone, hopeful waiting), I also will keep thee from (ek, out of, as translated in Rev. 5:9) the hour of temptation (peirasmos, trial), which shall come upon ALL THE WORLD, to try them that dwell upon the earth (because they are not overcomers). Behold, I come quickly (at the Rapture, Rev. 22:20): hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take THY CROWN. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches (ekklesia, called out ones, i.e., ones that escape)."

The only ones that are caught up to Heaven "out of (ek) great tribulation (the latter part of the Tribulation)...have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God" (Rev. 9:14,15). They were not caught up in Rev. 4:1, because they were not wearing white garments.

The Laodiceans that aren't overcomers at the first Rapture will be caught up at the second Rapture. They can't say they weren't told to get white garments. In Rev. 3:18,19, Jesus warned them, saying, "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and WHITE RAIMENT, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and REPENT."

Both groups are caught up to Heaven before the Second Coming for they all follow Jesus to Earth at his Second Coming. Zech. 14:5-7 says, "the LORD my God shall come, and ALL the saints WITH thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."

The day of the Second Coming will not be the day of darkness. The day of darkness is the day of God's wrath. It is "A DAY OF DARKNESS and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of THICK DARKNESS, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations" (Joe 2:2 ).

There are 7 months between the Pre-Wrath Rapture on the Day of Darkess and God's Wrath. The Day of God's Wrath, when his fury comes up in his face, is seen in Eze. 38:18-20. Verse 20 tells of the worldwide earthquake at the end of the shortened Tribulation. Eze. 39:4 says, "Thou (Gog) shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee."

Eze 39:11-13 says, "it shall come to pass in that day (Day of God's Wrath), that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. And SEVEN MONTHS (from Tishri 1, first day of the Jewish Civil Year, Day of God's Wrath, to Nisan 1, first day of the Regnal Year, day of the Second Advent) shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified (at the Second Advent), saith the Lord GOD."

Thus, we can see that all the saints are in Heaven before God's Wrath hits unbelievers on Earth seven months before the Second Advent. There is no way that a Rapture can take place at the Second Advent. All the saints will follow Jesus to Earth at the Second Advent. The Pre-Trib Rapture takes place before the Tribulation. The Pre-Wrath Rapture takes place just before the wrath of God hits the unbelievers left on Earth at the end of the shortened Tribulation.

Zeph. 2:3-5 says, "Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; SEEK RIGHTEOUSNESS, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid (in Heaven, because of being Raptured) IN THE DAY OF THE LORD'S ANGER. For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the NOON day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast."

On the Day of God's Wrath, all saints, small and great will be in Heaven getting their rewards while the unbelievers on Earth will receive God's Wrath. Rev. 11:17,18 says, "We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art (on the Day of God's Wrath), and wast (at the First Advent), and art to come (at the Second Advent, still future on the Day of God's Wrath); because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned (Tishri 1). And the nations were angry (Gog's UN army), and THY WRATH IS COME, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged (at the JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST), and that thou shouldest give REWARD unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, SMALL AND GREAT; and shouldest destroy them (the unbelievers left on Earth) which destroy the earth."

Luke 12:46 says, "The lord of that servant (the unwise believer [v. 42], i.e., the foolish virgin, Mt. 25:1f) will come in a day when he (the unwise/foolish believer) looketh not for him (Christ), and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him (the unwise believer) in sunder (lit., cut him off), and will appoint him HIS PORTION (of the Tribulation) with the UNBELIEVERS." The unbelievers and unwise believers will be tried by the trial that is to come upon the whole world (Rev. 3:10) during the Tribulation. The unwise believers will have to undergo the shortened Tribulation along with the unbelievers.

How can a believer be cut off and left behind to be tried during the Tribulation? In Rev. 3:16, Jesus told the Laodiceans (which means judgment or rights of the people), "because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue (emesai, vomit) thee out of my mouth." If they are spued out of the Body of Christ for chastening, it will be as Jesus said in Rev. 3:19: "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: BE ZEALOUS therefore, AND REPENT (as in I John 1:9)." They will be part of the great multitude that no man can number that will be caught up to Heaven in the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Rev. 7:9 shows that by that time, they will have washed their robes in the blood of Christ to make them white.

This group that are cut off in Luke 12:42 are also mentioned in Mt. 24:51. It adds, "And shall cut him asunder (cut him off), and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites (pretenders): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

We see this same weeping and gnashing of teeth in Mt. 22:10-14. It says, "the WEDDING was furnished with guests. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment (i.e., the white robe that literally stands for righteousnesses, Rev. 19:8): And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless (he thought he had it made). Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer (outside the door) darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

As for me, I want to be a wise virgin that goes with the Bridegroom (Christ) when he comes before the Tribulation. Mt. 25:10 says, they that WERE READY went in with him to the marriage: and the door (i.e., at the 1st Rapture) was shut (like the door of Noah's Ark). Like Paul, I don't want to be a "castaway." In 1Co 9:27, Paul said, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a CASTAWAY." The unrepentant Laodiceans are cast away until they repent, confess their sins so God can cleanse them of ALL unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

John 13:5-10 says, "he (Jesus) poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, IF I WASH THEE NOT, THOU HAST NO PART WITH ME. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean."

The Bride wears white. Heb 12:14 says, "Follow peace with all men, and HOLINESS, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD." "The fine linen is the righteousness (lit., righteousnesses, i.e., Christ's (for Salvation) and our righteous acts [for rewards]) of saints" (Rev. 19:8). Agape

Incoming email, Re: The Sabbath

Thanks so much for your website! I have been learning so much from you!! I just recently bought 3 of your books a couple weeks ago and I am half way through the 3rd one!!

My question is about the Sabbath which is Saturday. I'm a little freaked out because I just now realized that I haven't been keeping the Sabbath holy. I know I need to repent and I will. What should I be doing the whole day then? I have 2 small children too. Should I not allow my son to play with friends that day? I understand that I should not be doing any work that day but what else am I not supposed to do? I feel fearful that I won't be raptured!! I also didn't realize that partaking in Easter, etc. was pagan in nature until recently. I am new in Christ, only 4 years and I'm afraid my immaturity will leave me here until rapture 2!! Please help me understand this. Thanks

My reply

This is how it seems when anyone is trying to be worthy of salvation by keeping the Law. They worry, "Am I doing it right," etc. Earning salvation this way can't be done. The Law is so perfect that imperfect human beings always fall short of the mark. Under the Law, all needed a Saviour, and if they didn't get one, they were out of luck and on a slick slide to Hell.

Psa 53:2,3,6 says, "God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. EVERY ONE of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is NONE that doeth good, no, NOT ONE....Oh that the salvation (yshuw'ah, hint that Yeshua would come save us) of Israel were come out of Zion."

However, there was salvation from Adam through the Dispensation of the Law, but it wasn't really obtained by keeping the Law perfectly. God saved those that believed that he would send a Saviour, a Messiah, in the future. Thus, they were actually saved by grace the same as we are.

Eph 2:8-10 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

We're saved by believing that Yeshua/Jesus, the Saviour, came. All the way, from Adam to the end of the Millennium, man must walk by faith. That is our test. Whether looking forward or backward to the Messiah/Yeshua/Jesus, we must have faith in him. 2Co 5:7 says, "For we WALK BY FAITH, not by sight."

Jesus came to take Law-keeping out of the way as an issue in salvation. Col 2:14 says, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and TOOK IT OUT OF THE WAY, nailing it to his cross."

Gal 3:13 says, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a TREE." 1Pe 2:24 says, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the TREE, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: BY WHOSE STRIPES YE WERE HEALED."

In salvation, the question is now, "WHAT THINK YE OF CHRIST? WHOSE SON IS HE? " That comes from Mat 22:36-4. It says, "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, WHAT THINK YE OF CHRIST? WHOSE SON IS HE (the Son of God)? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? IF DAVID THEN CALL HIM LORD, HOW IS HE HIS SON?"

He is both Yahweh king of Israel and Yahweh of hosts. Isa. 44:8 says, "Thus saith the LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) the King of Israel, AND his redeemer the LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) of hosts; I am the first, AND I am the last; and beside me there is no God." II Cor. 5:19 helps us understand. It says, "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself."

We have been set free from the Law. Therefore, "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday (Firstfruits, Easter, included), or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ" (Col 2:16,17).

Rom 14:5,6 says, "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it."

Rom 14:12,13 says, "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way."

Don't pay any attention to those that would put a stumblingblock in your way. Seventh Day Adventists may tell you that you have to keep the Saturday Sabbath. Actually, you are free to keep whatever day you choose.

The Jehovah Witnesses make a big thing about calling Resurrection Day Easter, because that term came out of Satan's Counterfeit Religion. Well, Satan has tried to counterfeit everything that is true to confuse mankind. God knows our minds. If we mean Resurrection Day when we say Easter, he will know it. It is the thoughts and intents of the heart that matter.

The Jehovah's Witnesses make a far greater mistake. They think Jesus, who is the Son of God, is Michael the archangel.

Heb. 1:1-8 lays that in the dust. It says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by (en, in) his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; BEING MADE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ANGELS, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. FOR UNTO WHICH OF THE ANGELS SAID HE AT ANY TIME, THOU ART MY SON (NONE), this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD (including Michael) WORSHIP HIM (the Son of God). And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. BUT UNTO THE SON HE SAITH, THY THRONE, OH GOD, IS FOR EVER AND EVER: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." Agape

Thank you for your fine web site. I have copied and used many of your items in your main index for study and reference. I notice that if I do not keep up with your latest pro and con items that the main index items tend to become outdated. Will you be updating to a revised main index or provide addendums to those articles anytime soon?

My reply

If I can, I'll update. However, since keeping up with the news, answering e-mail and posting the Pro and Cons take up all of my available time into the wee hours now, I don't see how I could even read all the files to edit them. I'm way behind on answering e-mail, and my house shows neglect.

The date that a file was posted should be at the bottom of the page. What I wrote was the way I understood the subject on that day. As for the Rapture, I'm hoping for Pentecost, 2003. Agape

How Bible Codes Can Be Manipulated To Fit Agenda

By Michael Edwards 4-6-3:

I have used The Bible Codes and Bible Codes Plus software extensively since January 1999...

Another way to manipulate the results is by what variables are put into the hidden code search matrix. The variables are nearly infinite and depending on how the search matrix is configured, the results will be vastly different. I suppose that if someone were to calculate the mathematical equations caused by each single change of the different search matrix possibilities, he could use those equations to "slant" the search in certain ways....

due to so many variables that can be used in the matrix program, the results can be just as varied... nearly limitless.

Re: An edge view of a circular rainbow

Article "Chang Tang," by Rick Ridgeway, Nat'l Geographic, April 2003

As the sky brightens, a snow finch sounds a morning chirp and the sun feathers through a reef of clouds. Behind us the slanting rays paint the snow-blanketed hills pink. Ahead the early light disperses through an icy haze into a long band of purple, green, yellow, and Red.

"A circumhorizontal rainbow," Galen says, "You see it in high mountains and polar areas every once in awhile." (There wasn't a picture.)

Silent stones, scattered bones, Armageddon

by OLIVIA WARD, Toronto Star 4-6-03

...Israel's reign (of Megiddo) was followed by the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Seleucids, Romans, the Byzantine empire, Arabs, Crusaders, Mamelukes, Turks and British.

The last great battle of Megiddo came in 1948, when invading Iraqis were driven out by Israeli forces as the state of Israel was born....

It is said that scribes from the ancient kingdom of Sumer, on land we now call Iraq, were once sent to Megiddo to teach humanity's first writing.

Although no written tablets or manuscripts have been found at Megiddo, there is reason to believe the Sumerian teachers brought with them early works of literature, such as the Lamentation written for the destruction of the great city of Ur, a birthplace of ancient civilization...

Ur, like Megiddo, was reduced to stones and bones and dust.
