Police have arrested for forgery the Israeli antiques dealer who presented to the world the burial box purported to have contained the bones of Jesus's brother. The "James ossuary" was first displayed at the Royal Ontario Museum.

Oded Golan was arrested on suspicion of forging the ossuary and a tablet alleged to date back to the 9th century B.C....

But Mr. Golan was arrested on Monday and accused of trying to pass the items off as real.

Yesterday, Mr. Golan appeared in a Jerusalem court and police unveiled forgery equipment they said was found in his home, including stencils, stones and partially completed forgeries.

He is being held for questioning for four days, judicial sources said....

Mr. Golan is also suspected in connection with a shoebox-sized tablet inscribed with forged instructions for caring for the Jewish Temple.

The tablet is black and carries a Phoenician inscription attributed to the Jewish king Jehoash, who ruled over Jerusalem at the end of the 9th century BC.

Incoming email, Re: Midnight Cry

I have thoroughly enjoyed your web sight, and would greatly appreciate if you would be able to give me further insight on the following:

Matthew 25: 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.

The midnight cry was heard by both the wise virgins (Philadelphian church) and the foolish virgins (Laodicean church). My question is, "what possibly can that midnight cry be that even the foolish virgins were able to ascertain that the bridegroom was coming"? In Christ

My reply

In the Preview of the Rapture in Rev. 1, John was on Patmos, which means mortal. That mortal one became in the Spirit "and heard...a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega" (Rev. 1:10,11). He found himself in Heaven with Christ and the 7 candlesticks (churches, Rev. 1:20).

In Rev. 4:1, we find out for sure that "the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me/ which said, Come up hither." This is probably the midnight cry. Agape

Thank you for posting Joe Grant's message on the Bride of Christ. I have been studying along the same lines for some years now. I thought Joe's treatment of the subject was more complete than what I have read before. Most Christians believe that we ALL will be the Bride and I have recently realized that this cannot be the case. Understanding this clears up many scriptures that were "confusing". Again, thank you for sharing this important message. If you are interested, I have a friend who has posted some very good information on the Bride of Christ on his website... http://members.tripod.com/bethebridebook/danielministries/ God Bless you and may you "Be the Bride",

I was wondering; at the end of the message by Joe Grant, he mentions the year 1998 as a possible timetable for the Lord's Return. Obviously, that was 5 years ago. Any thoughts as to our current season of time?

My reply

Joe Grant will be pleased to know that all his time spent researching and assembling the results in The Bride of Christ is helpful.

"Daniel Rydstedt wrote the book on "Be the Bride" that I mentioned, and gave the URL for, on my Home Page. I'm glad you know him. I have enjoyed corresponding with him as we study Scripture. For others that will read this, I'll copy a bit about him from his web site:

"Daniel has authored five books: Be The Bride-volume one, Another Look At Raptures, Wrath, Resurrections And The Return, . . . Be The Bride-volume three, How To Make Sure You Have "Made Yourself Ready" When Your Groom Comes, . . . Gospills For Your Healing, A Manual For Health And Healing, . . . and two books that are to be used as evangelistic tools, How To Be Truly, Truly Happy and God Is Calling You. Volume two of Be The Bride is still in production."

For some reason, 1998 was marked. From June 5, 1968 (the day Bobby Kennedy died on the anniversary of the beginning of the Six-Day War) through Pentecost in 1998, I thought 1998 would be the year of the Pre-Trib Rapture. Here is one reason.

It looks like God singled out seven blocks of years, totaled them up and saw to it that they were listed in Scripture to mark the years of the most important coming events of our time. Each block is in the four hundreds; and there are no others.

(1) 400 from the casting out of Ishmael to the Exodus (Gen. 15:13; Acts 7:6,7)
(2) 430 from Abram's call to the Exodus (Ex. 12:40,41; Gal. 3:17,18)
(3) 450 from the division of Canaan to king Saul, the period of the judges (Acts 13:19,20)
(4) 480 Theocratic Years from the Exodus to the time construction began on the temple (excluding the servitudes when Israel was out of fellowship) (I Kings 6:1)
(5) 483 from the time the commandment was given to rebuild Jerusalem to 30 AD, year of the Crucifixion (Dan. 9:25,26)
(6) 490 Theocratic Years from the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem to the Second Advent (excluding the church era, when Israel is out of fellowship, in the gap between the 69th and 70th week of years) (Dan. 9:24).

When we add these blocks of years in the 400s to 1517 (the year Martin Luther tacked his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany, and caused the Protestant Reformation, it gives us an astonishing list of years. Obvious important modern events fell on these years up to 1998. It may have been the 6000th year since Adam was cast out of Eden. Here is the list:

(1) 5278 plus 400 equals 5678 (1917/18) (a 7/8)
In 5678 (1917/18), the modern exodus began
(2) 5278 plus 430 equals 5708 (1947/48) (a 7/8)
In 5708 (1947/48), Israel declared her Independence
(3) 5278 plus 450 equals 5728 (1967/68) (a 7/8)
In 5728 (1967/68), the Six-Day War, Sign of the End of the Age, had been won. The Temple area was retaken June 10, 1967 (Iyar 28, 5727).
(4) 5278 plus 480 equals 5758 (1997/98) (a 7/8)
In 5758 (1997/98), the 6000th year of man's test being mortal and knowing good and evil, living stones were given "SPACE TO REPENT"? Wye Memorandum peace treaty was signed 10-23-98 (when Saturn was closest and brightest in 20 years) to strengthen Oslo Accords signed 9-13-93
(5) 5278 plus 483 equals 5761 (2000/01)
I thought the Tribulation would begin in 2001.
(6) 5278 plus 490 equals 5768 (2007/08) (a 7/8)
In 5768 (2007/08), Probable day of Pre-Wrath Rapture, Tishri 1, 5768 (Sept. 13, 2007) just barely preceding God's Wrath. In the same year, 5768, I believe Christ will return (7 months after the Day of God's Wrath) (Eze. 39:12,13) on the first day of the Jewish Regnal Year (Eze. 29:17,21; Hos. 6:3).

No man could have planned this, and the correlations that have already happened seem to show us that the remaining years will have important correlating events. Only God, who had his complete timetable in mind, could have known how to draw these parallels. Truly, Scripture is God breathed. Maybe you can figure out how events in our days could apply to the latter years.

Remember that in Joseph's day, there were 7 good years and 7 bad years. The Oslo Accords were signed Sept. 13, 1993. They were ratified in Israel 3 days later, on Tishri 1, 5754. If we add 7 good and 7 bad years to Sept. 13, 1993, we get Sept. 13, 2007. If we add 7 good and 7 bad years to Tishri 1, 5754, we get Tishri 1, 5768, which is Sept. 13, 2007.

Another thing to keep in mind is the question asked Jesus in Mt. 24:3 and his answer in the fig tree parable. Mt. 24:3, 32-34 says, "as he (Jesus) sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? (destruction of the temple--30 AD + 40 = 70 AD) and what shall be THE SIGN of thy coming (parousia, coming near), and of the end of the world (sunteleia ton aionos (entire completion, or consummation, of the ages)?--- (Jesus said,) Now learn a parable of the fig tree (Israel, Joel 1:6,7; Hos. 3:9,10; Eze. 36:8; Jer 24:5,6; 29:16,17); When his branch (klados, scion for grafting) is yet tender (apalos, young, i.e., not over 19, as at the Exodus), and putteth forth leaves (Sinai, West Bank, Gaza Strip, Golen Heights), ye know that summer is nigh (the Six-Day War began June 6, 1967, when Israel was 19; summer began June 21): So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things (Israel in the land and growing), know that it (the 'kingdom of God,' Luke 21:31) is near, even at the doors (i.e., the 2 Raptures, Rev. 3:8,20). Verily (amen, so be it) I say unto you, This generation (i.e., born in 1967) shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

How long is "This generation"? In Mt. 23:36, Jesus told the Pharisees, whom he had called a "generation of vipers" in v. 33, "Verily (amen, so be it) I say unto you, All these things shall come upon THIS GENERATION." That was 30 AD. Forty years later was the sacking of Jerusalem and the burning of the temple. If a generation is 40 years, 1967 + 40 = 2007.

Tishri 1, 5768 is Sept. 13, 2007. That agrees well with the 7 good and 7 bad years starting with the signing of the Oslo Accords on Sept. 13, 1993, and their ratification on Tishri 1, 5754 (5754 + 7 + 7 = 5768).

The Jewish year 5768 is a Leap Year. It has 13 months. Therefore, there are 7 months between Tishri 1 and the following Nisan 1, first day of the regnal and sacred year. Eze. 39:12,13 shows that there are 7 months between the Day of God's Wrath and the Second Advent. Nisan 1, 5768 is April 6, 2008. That's interesting. April 6 is the anniversary of the Crucifixion on our calendar.

Could the next Jewish Leap Year, 5771, our 2010/2011, be the year of the Second Advent? The year 2010 minus a 7-year Tribulation would be 2003. On the Jewish Calendar, 5771 - 7 = 5764. Tishri 1, 5764 will be Sept. 27, 2003, the next Feast of Trumpets.

If the Rapture would take place Sept. 27 this year, how would that tie in with the length of the "last generation"? 1967 + 43 + 2010.In Mt. 26:40, Jesus said, "What, could ye not watch with me one hour?" If we were to watch one hour of a 1000-year day, that hour would be 41.66 years. 1967 + 42 = 2009, a year short. On the Jewish calendar, it would be 5727 + 42 = 5769, still a year short; 5769 is not a leap year.

In Mt. 1:17, the generations from Abraham to Christ are 42. Abraham was born in BC 2035. BC 2035 - BC 5 = 2030 years. 2030 divided by 42 = 48.6 years for a generation. 1967 + 49 = 2016. Current events today do not seem to allow for that much more time.

I'm not sure that you have Israel as the Bride, and the Church, the body, as the bridegroom, is that how you see it.

Who do you see as the bride of is 49:18 and when will that prophesy be

My reply

> > I'm not sure that you have Israel as the Bride, and the Church, the body, as the bridegroom, is that how you see it.

Not exactly. Yeshua haMashiach/Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom. His Bride is made up of those that walked, or are walking, with God by faith. We are all one body, Jew or Gentile. Christ is the head (Eph. 4:15), of the Body of Christ. We are other parts of that Body.

1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into ONE BODY, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."

Eph 2:13-16 says, "now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both (Jew and Gentile) one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for TO MAKE IN HIMSELF OF TWAIN ONE NEW MAN, so making peace; And that he might reconcile BOTH unto God in ONE BODY by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby".

Eph 4:4,5 says, "There is ONE BODY, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism".

Isa 54:5 says, "thy Maker (the LORD of hosts, the Redeemer, the Son of God, Christ, John 1:3) is thine HUSBAND; the LORD of hosts is his name (Isa. 44:6); and thy Redeemer (Yeshua/Jesus) the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called."

> > Who do you see as the bride of is 49:18 and when will that prophesy be

Isa 49:18 says, "Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.

This passage is talking about the restoration of the Israelites to their land in the millennial Day of the Lord.

Isa 49:21 says, "Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up (i.e., resurrected) these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?" (in the heavenly Paradise).

"AS A BRIDE DOETH" may refer to the 144,000 Israelites that are added to the Bride group at the second Rapture, the Rapture of the Tribulation saints (Rev. 14:4,5). The 144,000 are virgins without fault before the throne of God. As the wise virgins that were caught up at the Pre-Trib Rapture sang a new song (Rev. 5:9), the 144,000 sing "as it were a new song". Outgoing email, Re: beginning to doubt the Rapture

> > As time marches inexorably towards the date of June 6 2007 and no rapture yet (less than 4 years to go), just how shortened can the second half be?

Since there are 7 months between Tishri 1, the Day of God's Wrath, and the Second Advent on Nisan 1, the first day of the Regnal and Sacred Year (Eze. 39:12,13), the Jewish year that starts on the Day of God's Wrath must be a leap year. Jewish leap years have a 13th month, Adar II. Otherwise it is only 6 months from Tishri 1 to Nisan 1. I figured that the Day of God's Wrath would probably be Tishri 1, 5768, a leap year. However, I agree that the Great Tribulation seems to be getting short indeed. If you want to see how things fit the next leap year try 5771. Tishri 1 will be Sept. 9, 2010. If you subtract a 7-year Tribulation, you come back to Tishri 1, 5764, Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003. The year 5771 is still during the lifetime of the last generation that began with the Sign of the End of the Age, the Six-Day War in 1967. Agape

U.N. Wants to Spread Its Tentacles to Churches http://pages777.com/TodayNews0715.html#1

I've heard about this before, but few have. At the next meeting of the United Nations in September, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of the Philippines is to present a formal proposal for the establishment of an Inter-religious Council at the world body. It would be an institutional part of the United Nations, with status like that of the U.N.'s Economic and Social Council or the Trusteeship Council. At her meeting with President Bush at the White House in May, Arroyo suggested the United States might want to co-sponsor the proposal. Bush expressed deep interest and Condoleezza Rice already knew of it. July 14, 2003 NewsMax.com

Incoming email, Re: beginning to doubt rapture

I hope that you and Ed are getting better with the Lord's help. I am and have been an almost daily reader of your web site since your P&C's were in the double digits. It has been my home page for the last 5 years. Still, I am at this point, starting to doubt whether we will ever know when the rapture will take place.

As time passes and the signs we "see" seen to fade into history, I just can't help but think that no amount of studying and analyzing will ever bring us any closer to knowing just when God's final act in His plan of redemption will start. I have believed for more than a decade that the 6 day war was the start of the generation that will see all His plans fulfilled, the generation that would not die before all things are come to pass. As time marches inexorably towards the date of June 6 2007 and no rapture yet (less than 4 years to go), just how shortened can the second half be?

After finding your site many years ago, I truly believed that with your intensive study of the Bible and your dedication to not being a foolish virgin, I had found a kindred spirit who really understood the importance of being ready for the Lord's return. Your site was an immense help in my study of the Bible and provided a tremendous amount of material that I used in teaching others.

Back in the late 90's I was so convinced, from my own studies and from reading your site, that the rapture was very near and that my family and friends needed to be ready. They started to think that I was becoming irrational. I was summarily dismissed from teaching a high school level Bible Study class because they said that I was focusing too much on teaching them to be ready for His return. I was "scaring" the kids. This did not dampen my spirit at all, on the contrary I was convinced even more that it must surely happen soon because of this resistance. Well, Pentecost of 98 I was so ready to go that I practically could not sleep for those 2 days. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I returned to your site and could tell from the next few P&C's that you were also, along with many readers.

That was to be the first of many such times. 99 did not seem as probable because of the situation in Israel. It did not seem to be quite ready for the start of a 7 year peace treaty. 2000 seemed really good. We only had 7 years left,( the amount of time we thought was needed for the tribulation period to run it's course), we had the Y2K scare, 2000 year cycle, etc, etc. Again nothing. 2001, 2002 and 2003 all seemed like good candidates, but we are still here wondering just what it is we are not understanding in this whole scenario. If the rapture does not occur between now and the end of this year, where does that leave us with the whole "Sign of the Age" in 67? Does that mean that we understood nothing? How can we be ready if there is no understanding of the "times and seasons" of His appearing?

Jesus chastised the Pharisees for not knowing the time of His coming, not understanding what was written about Him in God's Word. Are we any better off than they? Will we be chastised for not understanding the things we were told in His Word? I can't believe that I am the only one who is having such doubts. As the time grows shorter for the tribulation to start, I feel that there will be many more people who will experience what I am now going through. I apologize for the length of this e-mail. I guess I am just venting what amounts to years of frustration now. Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Keeping you and Ed in my prayers, in God's boundless love, a brother in Christ.

My reply

> > ...Still, I am at this point, starting to doubt whether we will ever know when the rapture will take place.

I don't know when the Rapture is coming yet, either, but I stay ready and keep watching. Current events make it seem close. If I can figure out when, fine. If I can't figure out when, fine.

I keep hoping that something will happen, or be understood, that will make everything fall into place correctly. I think we have a good chance to know and that our patient waiting will be rewarded.

2Th 3:5 says, "the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the PATIENT WAITING (hupomone, cheerful, hopeful patient endurance or waiting) FOR CHRIST."

Just before the Rapture, Rev. 3:10 (Rotherham) says, "BECAUSE THOU DIDST (before the Rapture) KEEP MY WORD OF ENDURANCE (patient waiting), I ALSO, WILL (at the Rapture) KEEP THEE OUT OF THE HOUR OF TRIAL (the Tribulation), WHICH IS ABOUT TO COME (after the Rapture) upon the whole habitable world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

James 5:7-9 says, "BE PATIENT therefore, brethren (believers), unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long PATIENCE for it, until he receive the early (Tishri) and latter (Nisan) rain. BE YE ALSO PATIENT; stablish (sterizo, turn resolutely in a certain direction or stedfastly set) your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh."

In Rev. 3:3, Jesus said, "Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and HOLD FAST (tereo, hold fast, watch), AND REPENT. If therefore thou shalt not WATCH (gregoreuo, be vigilant). I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee." Turn it around. If we are vigilant, he will not come on us as a thief, and we shall know what hour he will come upon us.

1Pe 4:17,18 says, "the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"

The ungodly (unsaved) and the sinners (foolish Laodicean virgins without white robes of righteousness) will appear in the Tribulation.

Luk 12:46 says, "The lord of that servant (the foolish one) will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder (lit., cut him off, i.e., with the twoedged sword of his mouth, Rev. 1:16), and will appoint him his portion WITH THE UNBELIEVERS." The unbelievers will be in the Tribulation, therefore the foolish Laodicean virgins will also be in the Tribulation.

This judgment of believers will take place at the Rapture. James 5:9 says, "Grudge not one against another, brethren (believers), lest ye be condemned (katakrino, judged against): behold, THE JUDGE STANDETH BEFORE THE DOOR" (the open door of Heaven set before the Philadelphians, Rev. 3:8; 4:1).

> > How can we be ready if there is no understanding of the "times and seasons" of His appearing?

I isn't that we have "no understanding." We just haven't put the last puzzle piece in the prophetic picture. Surely, several sections of the puzzle are correct.

We are supposed to stay ready because we want to be with the Lord, not because we know exactly when he is coming. Noah didn't know when the rain would come until 7 days before it came. That didn't stop him from working on the Ark.

> > Jesus chastised the Pharisees for not knowing the time of His coming, not understanding what was written about Him in God's Word. Are we any better off than they?

Yes! definitely. We believers are saved. As a group, the Pharisees were not, although some individuals were. We can see that end time prophecies are being fulfilled. They couldn't see that the time of the coming of the Mashiach was there.

> > Will we be chastised for not understanding the things we were told in His Word?

I don't think so. We are trying hard, studying, and praying to understand correctly. What else could we do?

2Ti 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself APPROVED unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

The approved seem to be accounted worthy to escape in the Rapture. Luke 21:34-36 says, "take heed to yourselves (believers), lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it (the Tribulation) come (in the future, i.e., after the Rapture) on all them (the ungodly and sinners left behind) that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye (believers) may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE (i.e., in the Rapture) all these things that shall (after the Rapture) come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (in Heaven, Rev. 1:12,13; 5:8).

May we all be accounted worthy to escape. Agape

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your Bible chronological study. Itís the best that I have ever seen. I would like to know if (Artaxerxes (Darius Hystaspes)) is Artaxerxes, I, or II according to everybody who wrote the chronology he is #1. Also Darius is he #1, or 2.

My second question is why didnít you continue the date through Alexander the Great, the Romans and EtcÖ Last but least I am very proud of your analysis, itís the closest to reality. Wishing the best of luck. Hoping to hear from you soon. Sincerely

My reply

Thanks for your kind words, but I don't deserve such great credit for this chronology. I researched the subject at the library at BIOLA and found that I agreed with most of Martin Anstey's work in "The Romance of Bible Chronology," so I started with that. I hope you can find both volumes for they were published in London in 1913. They were Reserved books at BIOLA. I had to use them at the Library.

I also read David Cooper's "Messiah: His First Coming Scheduled". If I remember correctly, it was in that book that he explained how he checked out Anstey's work. He said that he found a few minor mistakes, but nothing that would change the outcome. He said that Anstey's work was reliable.

I did a lot of my own checking and added double checks where I used them to verify dates. I made my own chart of all those years. I worked with chronology for a long time and have made the list as accurate as I was able to determine.

I had another help on chronology. Dr. Arnold Ehlert was head librarian at that time. He had written the "Syllabus of Bible Chronology." It was unpublished, but the MS was bound like a thesis and put on the shelves. In it he explained how to break several gordian knots in Bible Chronology. That saved me a lot of time figuring those out.

I can't answer your first question. It has been too long since I even thought about those rulers.

As for your second question, the chronology was set up from Adam to Christ. Only things necessary to that end were used. My whole chronology study was part of my search for the correct year of the Crucifixion. Agape
