...One side of a wall in the Temple Mount compound - completely visible to worshippers at the Western Wall - collapsed on Tuesday, uncovering an area of some 40 square meters of dirt and fill. The wall belongs to the Islamic Museum on the Temple Mount, a building to the right and above the worshipers at the Western Wall, identified by a small gray dome...
I think the star of Bethlehem was supernatural, because it led the Magi to Bethlehem and stood over the house where Jesus was. To me, no star up in the sky could do that. It would be too far away. Since I think Jesus was born on Tishri 1 in BC 5, it was interesting to see that Molnar thinks the birth would be between 6 and 4 BC. I agree with that.
"Revealing the Star of Bethlehem"
By Michael R. Molnar
...The above illustration is a Roman coin from Antioch, Syria which shows the zodiacal sign, Aries the Ram. In trying to understand the meaning behind this coin, I found that Aries was the sign of the Jews. Realizing that this is where ancient stargazers would have watched for the Star of Bethlehem, I embarked on searching for the celestial event that signified the birth of the Messiah in Judea....
The so-called “bible of astrology” the Tetrabiblos of Claudius Ptolemy explained that Aries the Ram controlled the people of “Judea, Idumea, Samaria, Palestine, and Coele Syria” – lands ruled by King Herod. I think the coin was issued by the Romans of Antioch to commemorate their takeover of Judea in AD 6....
Anyone examining the coins with Aries looking at an overhead star would think that they depict the Star of Bethlehem. The coins were first issued around the time of Quirinius’ census in AD 6....
On April 17, 6 BC two years before King Herod died Jupiter emerged in the east as a morning star in the sign of the Jews, Aries the Ram....Saturn was also present which meant that the three rulers of Aries’ trine (Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn) were present in Aries.....
For example, that Herod died in 4 BC has been challenged by a few people, but mainstream historians and numismatists (coin experts) stand firm with the spring of 4 BC for Herod's death. (p. 55-57) If Jesus were born during the reign of King Herod, he had to be born in or before 4 BC....
I usually don’t watch Jack Van Impe, but was channel surfing a couple nights ago and as he came up on the screen I heard him say “except those days be shortened”. I stopped to listen and his take on it was that the daylight not the day was shortened. He was referencing global warming & then the scriptures about the sun being darkened etc... This sent me to these two scriptures which is the only place in the bible this phrase is used.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Mar 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
I did a search on the word days and the phrase “should be shortened” in Strong’s. The word days can mean the daylight hours, or the length of time of a day, etc., but the reference to the Greek word for the phrase “should be shortened” came out much stronger liken to annihilate.
My understanding of the 7 year tribulation had always been that it would be shortened, but then wondered if there were other references to spans of time in the bible where God noted a time then shortened it?
Thank you again for all the work you have shared with us. Agape
You're welcome. I'd be writing things to myself to study anyway, so this is great. I can study and get other's opinions too. We can both come out better for having bounced our ideas back and forth.
> > the reference to the Greek word for the phrase “should be shortened” came out much stronger liken to annihilate.
Strong's said that koloboo meant to dock, abridge, shorten. Young's says, "To cut off, shorten, amputate." Cutting a dog's tail shorter is docking. I think cutting a period of time short is the meaning we are after.
Proverbs 10:27 seems to tie in. It says, "The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but THE YEARS (shaneh, year; as a revolution of time) OF THE WICKED ('that Wicked,' the False Prophet, II Thess. 2:8) SHALL BE SHORTENED."
From Dan. 7:25, we can see that the YEARS of the reign of the False Prophet will be shortened. Therefore, it is the number of days that get shortened in Mt. 24:21,22, not the hours in a day.
Dan. 7:25-27 says of the False Prophet, "he shall speak great words against the most High (Christ, Isa. 44:6), and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time (i.e., 3.5 years). But the judgment shall sit (i.e., the Judgment Seat of Christ will convene in Heaven on the Day of God's Wrath), and they shall take away his (the False Prophet's) dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end (i.e., of the 7 years). And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High (Jesus Christ), whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him."
It is the 3.5 years of the Great Tribulation that get shortened. Maybe the 2300 days of Dan. 8:13,14 show us how many days are cut off. It says, "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice (i.e., the first 1260 days of the Tribulation), and the transgression of desolation (Mid-Trib), to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed."
We know that the first half of the Tribulation is 1260 days. Subtracted from the 2300 days, that would leave 1040 days for the shortened Great Tribulation. Thus, 220 days would be cut off. That would be 7.33 months, of which 7 months separate the Day of God's Wrath and the Second Advent (Eze. 38:18-20; 39:12,13). That's a good fit. The extra third of a month could be the time between the Second Advent and the Judgment of the Nations, when dominion will be taken away from Satan.
The False Prophet, the seventh head of the great red dragon, is deposed on the Day of God's Wrath. After that, Satan will operate on his own as the "eighth." Rev. 17:10:11 says, "there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is (i.e., at the Rapture, the Beast of Rev. 13:2-10 is in office), and the other (the False Prophet) is not yet come; and when he cometh (i.e., to power Mid-Trib), he must continue a SHORT SPACE. And the beast (Satan) that was (in Judas Iscariot), and is not (in man at the Pre-Trib Rapture), even he (Satan) is the EIGHTH, and is of the seven, and GOETH INTO perdition." Both Judas and the False Prophet are called sons of perdition, because Satan enters into them. Rev 12:12 says, "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you (Mid-Trib), having great wrath, because he knoweth that HE HATH BUT A SHORT TIME." I think this short time is while he is in the False Prophet. It is the 1260 days of the False Prophet's reign that will be shortened. Psa 55:23 says, "But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days".
It seems that Satan will be operative until the end of the whole 2520 days of the 7 years. Then dominion will be taken from him, probably at the Judgment of the Nations. I think this is the catalyst that brings on Armageddon. After that, Satan will be chained for the rest of the Millennium.
Rev. 20:2,3 says, "he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled." Revelation is like a miracle play. Jesus wrote the script and is both the director and an actor in his dramatic production. He cast John as narrator and an actor in this play. Angels are the supporting cast. Like our movie directors, Jesus started out with a Preview of coming attractions in the first chapter. After that, he gave his monologue, the messages to the churches at the time when the Rapture is "at hand." After the messages to the churches, he gave us a view of the actual Rapture in Rev. 4:1.
What is very important for us to understand is that the whole play is placed in the setting when the Rapture is near. From that vantage point, Jesus looks backward and forward to tell us about events.
> > First, the entire book (of Revelation) is an outline of what is going to occur on "the Lord's Day." [Rev. 1:10]
In Rev. 1:19, Jesus said, "Write the things which thou hast seen (before the Rapture), and the things which are (at the Rapture), and the things which shall be hereafter (after the Rapture)."
It is as if Jesus stood on the pinnacle of the Rapture to view things in the past and things in the future. The Rapture is "at hand" in both the 1st and last chapters (1:3; 20:10). Jesus signs off by saying that he will come quickly. He comes quickly at the Rapture.
The "lord's day" in Rev. 1:10 is the only time that term is used in the whole Bible. It is different from the Day of the Lord that can't start until after Elijah comes. Mal. 4:5 says, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD."
Rev. 1:10 says, "I was (ginomai, became, was caused to arise, i.e., in the Preview of the Rapture that actually takes place in Rev. 4:1) in the Spirit on the Lord's day (kuriokos hemera, i.e., the Day belonging to the Lord, i.e. 'the day of our Lord Jesus Christ,' I Cor. 1:8, the day of the Rapture), and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet (i.e., Christ's trumpet voice saying, 'Come up hither' in Rev. 4:1).
Rev. 4:1 says, "a door was opened in heaven: and the FIRST VOICE which I heard was as it were of A TRUMPET TALKING with me; WHICH SAID, COME UP HITHER." In Luke 17:22, Jesus "said unto the disciples, The days (plural) will come, when ye shall desire to see ONE OF THE DAYS (plural, one of the two Rapture days) OF THE SON OF MAN, and ye shall not see it" (the Pre-Trib Rapture that is like the days of Noah).
Verse 26 says, "as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days (plural) of the Son of man." Noah was floated upward by the water (a symbol of the "Spirit of Christ," (Rom. 8:9).
Speaking of the second Day of Christ, the Pre-Wrath Rapture, Luk 17:29-31 says, "But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed (the Sign of the Son of Man will be seen in the sky (Rev. 6:14f). In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away." He will be caught up in the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Therefore, he will not need his earthly stuff.
Rev. 1:10 is the Preview of the Pre-Trib Rapture that takes place in Rev. 4:1. It is the "day of our Lord Jesus Christ."
1Co 1:8 says, "Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST."
Phi 1:6 says, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST," (i.e., the day of the Rapture).
Phil. 1:10 says, "That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till THE DAY OF CHRIST." Those that are "without offence" are those Christians who have been "purged from his old sins" (II Peter 1:9) when they accepted Christ and have confessed to God all known sins since that day (I John 1:9).
Phil. 2:16 says, "Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in THE DAY OF CHRIST, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."
2Th 2:2 says, "That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that THE DAY OF CHRIST is at hand."
The first Day of Christ will be the Pre-Trib Rapture, when the first trump of God sounds (I Thess. 4:16). The second Day of Christ will be the Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Tribulation saints, when the "last trump" of God sounds (I Cor. 15:51,52).
> > The term "Day of the Lord", or "the Lord's Day" is used in conjunction with other terms to describe the second coming of Jesus Christ [see: Isa. 2:12, Joel 1:15, 2 Cor. 1:1-14].
The DAY OF THE LORD JESUS" in II Cor. 1:14 is the DAY OF CHRIST, the Pre-Trib Rapture.
Isa. 2:12 says, "For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low." This is at the time of the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Verse 9 says, "And the mean man (i.e., like the False Prophet) boweth down, and the great man (i.e., like the Tribulation Pope) humbleth himself: therefore forgive (NASA, LIFT UP) THEM NOT."
This is the day of the Pre-Wrath Rapture, which is also the Day of Destruction, the first day of Christ's millennial reign. He will be crowned in Heaven this day and sit as judge at the Judgment Seat of Christ, but he will not return to the Earth for 7 more months.
Verse 19 says, "they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth."
This ties in with Rev. 6:14-17. It says, "the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne (the Sign of the Son of Man, Mt. 24:30), and from the wrath of the Lamb: For THE GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH IS COME."
The Day of God's Wrath is explained in Eze. 38:18-20. The dead lay around the Earth. Then Eze. 39:11-13 says, "it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. And SEVEN MONTHS shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified (THE SECOND ADVENT), saith the Lord GOD."
Seven months after the Day of God's Wrath on Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets, is the day of the Second Advent (Nisan 1, first day of the Jewish Regnal Calendar).
Joel 1:15; 2:1,2 describes the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord. It says, "Alas for the day! for THE DAY OF THE LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come." Joel 2:1,2 shows that this is the Feast of Trumpets and the day "of thick darkness."
Zech. 14:5-7 shows us that the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord, is not the day of the Second Advent. That day cannot be the day of thick darkness. Besides this, the saints are not to receive God's Wrath, and they return with Christ at the Second Advent.
Zech. 14:5-7 says, "the LORD my God shall COME, AND ALL THE SAINTS WITH THEE. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."
Here are some verses about the Day of the Lord.
Isa 13:6,9 says, "Howl ye; for the DAY OF THE LORD is at hand; IT SHALL COME AS A DESTRUCTION from the Almighty.... Behold, the DAY OF THE LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it."
Isa 34:8 says, "it is the DAY OF THE LORD'S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Jer 46:10 says, "For this is the DAY OF THE LORD GOD of hosts (Christ, Isa. 44:8), a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates."
Amo 5:18 says, "Woe unto you that desire the DAY OF THE LORD ! to what end is it for you? the DAY OF THE LORD is DARKNESS, and not light.
2Pe 3:10 says, "the DAY OF THE LORD will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
> > (In Revelation) Chapter 11:15 through ch.12 tells us what happens at the sound of the Seventh Trumpet. This is the "last trumpet" which the apostle Paul referred to in 1st Corinthians 15:52. This will be when Jesus "catches up" the Church (John 14:1-3).
The 7th judgment trumpet is sounded by an angel. It has nothing to do with the church. The church saints are not to be subjected to the Wrath of God. The 1st "trumpet of God" that sounds at the 1st Rapture in I Thess. 4:16 is sounded by God. Likewise, the "last trump," the one that sounds at the 2nd Rapture in I Cor. 15:51,52, is sounded by God.
The type is found in Nu. 10:1-4. It says, "the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee TWO TRUMPETS of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them (both), all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation (i.e., in Heaven). And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee." These are the 24 elders seen crowned and sitting on thrones in Rev. 4:4. They are the 12 patriarchs and the 12 apostles of Israel. Their names are all on the heavenly New Jerusalem in Rev. 21:12-14.
> > This will be the beginning of the "second coming" which will last three and one half years. At this time the Devil is cast out of "heavenly places" by Michael the Archangel. Meanwhile, the "first-fruits" (144,000) are caught up to Heaven and are seen rejoicing in "Heavenly Zion" in chapter 14.
I don't see how the Second Coming could last 3.5 years. That would place the commencement of the Second Coming before the Wrath of God hit Earth. I think the 144,000 will be caught up in the Pre-Wrath Rapture on the Day of God's Wrath. They would be caught up in the night or morning. The mountain (asteroid of Rev. 8:8) burning with fire will impact the Mediterranean Sea at noon.
Zeph. 2:1-5 says, "Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired (Israel, 1948); Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be HID (by being caught up to Heaven in the 2nd Rapture) in the day of the LORD'S anger. For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast."
> > Let us take a look at what happens at the openning of the first 5 seals. The first four seals comprise visions of different riders on different colored horses. Each rider is "a" antichrist but not "the antichrist". Jesus warned us that "false christs and false prophets" would come (Matt. 24:24, 1 John 2:18). The final antichrist doesn't appear until Revelation ch. 13 and is identified as "the Beast".
I think the rider of the white horse in Rev. 6 is the Beast of Rev. 13:2-10 and the rider of the pale horse is the Satan possessed False Prophet of Rev. 13:11-18. The rider of the white horse comes to power as the Tribulation begins. The rider of the pale horse comes to full power Mid-Trib, when Satan is cast out of Heaven into the Earth, then comes up "out of the bottomless pit, and go INTO perdition (the 2nd son of perdition, the False Prophet).
> > Fourth Seal: pestilence, death horse Rev.6:7-8
> > The riders of these horses represent "antichrists" but not the final Antichrist. The final Antichrist doesn't appear until Revelation ch.13.
I think Rev. 6:1,2 and Rev. 13:1,2 both take place at the beginning of the Tribulation. The 1st Beast reigns during the first 1260 days of the Tribulation. The two witnesses prophesy during this time too. They are killed Mid-Trib when the False Prophet becomes Satan possessed. Agape
To me, the Day of the Lord can't start until AFTER Elijah comes and prophesies during the first half of the Tribulation. Mal. 4:5,6 says, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT AND DREADFUL DAY OF THE LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."
I believe that the Day of the Lord comes on the same day that the curse comes. Zech. 5:3 says, "This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth." Its orbit carries it around Earth. I think it is a binary asteroid that is twice as long as it is wide (v. 2). When it breaks apart, probably at the Roche Limit, 11,000 miles out, it will become the two asteroids of Rev. 8:8,10.
They will hit Earth at noon on the Day of God's Wrath that is the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord. Zec 5:4 says, "I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts (Christ, Isa. 44:6), and it shall enter into the house of the thief (the False Prophet), and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name (the Tribulation Pope, who claims infallibility): and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof."
This asteroid impact is explained further in Rev. 18:21. It says, "a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
I think the day of the asteroid impact is the coming of the Day of the Lord. Isa 13:6 says, "Howl ye; for the DAY OF THE LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction (i.e., the asteroid impacts) from the Almighty." To me, the Day of the Lord does not come at the beginning of the Tribulation, or even at Mid-Trib. It comes at the end of the shortened Great Tribulation. Agape
> > "I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast.........They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.......This is the FIRST resurrection." Rev. 20:4-5(NIV)
> > If there will be a resurrection at the rapture, how could the resurrection of the martyred saints be the FIRST resurrection?
The First Resurrection is in ranks. I Cor. 15:23 says, "But every man in his own order (tagmati, rank): Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming."
Jesus was the first rank. Those that came out of their graves and were seen in Jerusalem in Mt. 27:52 followed Jesus. The next rank will be at at the first "trumpet of God," the Pre-Trib Rapture (I Thess. 4:16). The last rank will be at "last trump," the Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Tribulation saints (I Cor. 15:51,52). The First Resurrection precedes the Millennium. The Second Resurrection is at the end of the Millennium.
Luke 14:14 says, "And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just." I take it that the First Resurrection is the same as the Resurrection of the Just. We will receive our rewards on the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord. It is the day Christ receives his kingdom--Coronation Day.
Rev. 11:17,18 says, "We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art (on the 1st day of his Kingdom, the Day of God's Wrath), and wast (at the First Advent), and art to come (7 months after the Day of God's Wrath, Eze. 39:12,13, at the Second Advent); because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and THY WRATH IS COME (i.e., only at the end of the shortened Tribulation does his wrath come), AND the time of the dead, that they should be judged (at the Judgment Seat of Christ), and that thou shouldest give REWARD unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; AND shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."
