Instead of "do his commandments," the Vulgate has "wash their robes." That would be as in Rev. 7:14, where the Tribulation saints that were caught up in the Pre-Wrath Rapture had washed their robes in the blood of Christ to make them white.
I think washing their robes has to do with confessing sins committed after we accepted Christ to bring them all under the blood of Christ, as in I John 1:7-9. It says, "if we walk in the light (i.e., not sinning), as he is in the light (not sinning), we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins (i.e., known sins), he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (that we confessed), and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Even unknown sins are washed away.
Since the days left for the Great Tribulation were getting to be very few, I went to the next Jewish Leap Year (5771, 2010/2011) following 5768 (2007/2008).
I'm now looking for 5771 (2010/2011) to be the year for the Day of God's Wrath (Tishri 1, Thu., 9-9-2010) and the Second Advent (Nisan 1, Tue., 4-5-2011).
I think the ending year has to be a Leap Year with Adar II, the 13th month, because there are 7 months between Tishri 1 and Nisan 1 instead of the usual 6.
God's Wrath is described in Eze. 38:18-20. It "shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that MY FURY shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of MY WRATH have I spoken, Surely in that day (Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1) there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence (paniym, face; i.e., the Sign of the Son of Man, Mt. 24:30; Rev. 6:14f), and the mountains (asteroids of Rev. 8:8,10) shall be thrown down (the mountain-sized asteroid will impact the Mediterranean Sea), and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground" (in the worldwide earthquake, when Jerusalem is divided into three parts and the cities of the nations fall, Rev. 16:18,19).
After that, Ezekiel 39:12,13 says, "And SEVEN MONTHS shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified (Second Advent, 1st day of the Regnal and Sacred Year, for Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords), saith the Lord GOD."
It seems likely that the Tribulation will last 2300 days. Dan. 8:9-14 says, "out of one of them (the 4 divisions of Alexander the Great's kingdom) came forth a little horn (the Satan-possessed False Prophet), which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven (angels); and it (Satan) cast down some (one third, the wicked angels) of the host (angels) and of the stars to the ground (Rev. 12:4), and stamped upon them. Yea, he (Satan) magnified himself even to the prince of the host (Michael the archangel, Rev. 12:7-9), and by him (the False Prophet) the daily sacrifice was taken away (Mid-Trib), and the place (the temple mount) of the sanctuary (temple) was cast down. And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice (first 1260 days of the Tribulation), and the transgression of desolation ('he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God,' II Thess. 2:4), to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed" (i.e., on the Day of God's Wrath).
The "four kingdoms" of Dan. 8:22 were assigned to:
Lysimachus (the north, Turkey and Thrace)
Ptolemy (the south, including Egypt)
Seleucus (the east, Babylon and Syria),
Cassander (the west, Greece and Macedon)
Some think that the False Prophet will come out of what was Assyria. Micah 5:2-6 says, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler (Jesus Christ) in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old (as YHVH of hosts, the Redeemer, Isa. 44:6), from everlasting. Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth (Israel) hath brought forth (fruit): then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he (Jesus Christ) be great unto the ends of the earth. And this man (he's both man and God) shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod (Babylon) in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders."
I subtracted 2300 days from Sept. 9, 2010, and came to May 23, 2004, for the beginning of the Tribulation. That's Sivan 3, three days before Pentecost (Sivan 6). It looks like that would knock out a Pentecost Rapture. That makes Ascension Day, Sunday, May 16, 2004, look like a good day for the Rapture. Anything before that seems too early for the grapes to be blooming.
It agrees with Song of Solomon 2:10-14. It says, "My beloved (Christ) spake, and said unto me, RISE UP (quwm, rouse, arise, rise up, i.e., resurrect and rise up), my love (i.e., the Bride of Christ), my fair one, and COME AWAY (yalak, DEPART, VANISH, i.e., at the Pre-Trib Rapture). For, lo, the winter is past, the rain (the latter rain of Nisan) is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth (it's spring); the time of the singing of birds is come (lit., the 'new song,' i.e., of Rev. 5:9), and the voice of the turtle (lit., turtledove, they come in April) is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. ARISE (quwm, rouse, rise up, arise, i.e., resurrect and rise up), my love, my fair one, and COME AWAY (yalak, DEPART, VANISH). O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock (i.e., in Christ), in the secret places of the stairs (lit., the secret of the stairs, like Jacob's ladder that went from Earth to Heaven), let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely."
I think our Rapture window is while Saturn (the 'third heaven'; Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, II Cor. 12:2) is in Gemini, the twins, where the Bride and Bridegroom (Christ) sit together in heavenly places (i.e., on the ecliptic, the path of the planets).
Saturn is in Gemini now. Eph. 2:6 says, "And hath raised us up together (sunegeiro, to rouse from death in company with; i.e., to be raptured with the Bride of Christ), and made us sit together in heavenly places (figuratively in Gemini, actually on Saturn, which is now in Gemini) in Christ Jesus."
If May 23,2004, is the beginning of the 2300-day shortened Tribulation, Mid-Trib would be 1260 days later (Rev. 11:3), on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 (23 Cheshvan, 6768). Agape
Rev. 20:10 calls the two beasts of Rev. 13, "the beast and the false prophet." The false prophet is listed last, and he appears last in Rev. 13.
Rev. 16 13 says, "And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan), and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet." The order is the same here, first the beast, then the false prophet is mentioned.
I John 2:18 says, "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time."
I John 2:22 says, "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is ANTICHRIST, that denieth the Father and the Son." The Pope doesn't deny the Father and the Son. I think the false prophet will do so.
I John 4:3 says, "And every spirit (including Satan) that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of ANTICHRIST, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." The Pope hasn't come out saying that Jesus Christ hasn't come in the flesh.
Isa. 9:14,15 says, "the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail."
The ancient and honourable sounds like the Tribulation Pope. He will be the 6th head of the great red dragon (Rev. 12:4). The prophet that teacheth lies will be the 7th head as well as the tail, because Satan will be in him. After the False Prophet is deposed from office, Satan will operate on his own as the "eighth" (Rev. 17:10,11).
In Rev. 17, the Rapture has just taken place. Those "that ARE with him (the Lord of lords and King of kings) ARE called, and chosen, and faithful" (v. 14).
Rev. 17:10 says, "there are seven kings: five are fallen, and ONE IS (the Pope), and the other (the False Prophet) is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space."
At the Rapture, the Pope is already in office. The False Prophet will be revealed when the peace covenant is strengthened, but he won't come to full power until Mid-Trib. That is when he will sit in the temple as if he is God. It is the Great Tribulation that is to be shortened or no flesh would be saved (Mt. 24:22,23).
I think Vatican City will be moved to Babylon. Zech. 5:10,11 says, "Whither do these bear the ephah? (largest wheat measure, i.e., world church) And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar (Babylon, Gen. 7:2; Dan. 1:2): and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base" (where the Tower of Babel was started).
When God's Wrath is poured out on Earth, the asteroids of Rev. 8:8 and 10 will impact Earth. One will strike the Mediterranean Sea (Zeph. 2:1-5). The other will destroy Babylon. We read of the result in Zech. 5:4. It says, "I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts (Christ, Isa. 44:6), and it shall enter into the house of the thief (the False Prophet), and into the house of him that sweareth falsely BY MY NAME (the Tribulation Pope, who claims infallibility): and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof." To me, if the Pope swears by Christ's name, he is not the antichrist.
II John 1:7 says, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess NOT that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an ANTICHRIST." The Antichrist will not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
II Thess. 2:1-9 says, "Now we beseech you, brethren (believers), by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him (the Rapture), That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ (almost all major MSS have 'day of the Lord') is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (Day of the Lord, the1st day of Christ's millennial reign) shall not come, except there come a falling away (apostasia, DEPARTURE; i.e., the Rapture) first, and that man of sin (the False Prophet) be revealed, the son of perdition (only Judas Iscariot and the False Prophet are sons of perdition); Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he (the False Prophet, the son of perdition) as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth (the Holy Spirit that indwells believers) that he (the False Prophet) might be revealed in his time (the Great Tribulation). For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he (the Holy Spirit) who now letteth will let (Old English for hindereth will hinder), until he be taken out of the way (at the Rapture). And then shall that Wicked (False Prophet) be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, WHOSE COMING IS AFTER THE WORKING OF SATAN with all power and signs and lying wonders."
Rev. 17:8 says, "The beast (great red dragon, Satan) that thou sawest was (in Judas), and is not (in man at the Rapture); and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit (after being cast 'into the Earth' Mid-Trib, Rev. 12:9), and GO INTO perdition (the False Prophet): and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was (in Judas), and is not (in man at the Rapture), and yet is" (exists). We have two choices. Either the elders are out of every nation, or the saints are out of every nation. Let's see if we can sort that out.
Since there are more than 24 nations on Earth, I see no other alternative but to think that the raptured saints are out of every nation.
Num 10:1-4 says, "the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly (i.e., at the 2 Raptures), and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them (both), all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation (that happens at the time of the 2nd Rapture, Mt. 24:31, Mark 13:27). And if they blow but with one trumpet (i.e., at the 1st Rapture), then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee."
I think the princes that are heads of the thousands of Israel are the 12 patriarchs of Israel. The "names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel" are on the gates of the heavenly city, New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:12).
Since "the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb" are on the 12 foundations (Rev. 21:13,14), I think the other 12 elders are the 12 apostles.
Eph 2:19-21 says, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the APOSTLES and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord."
There are more prophets than 12. Therefore, I think the 24 elders are the 12 patriarchs and the 12 apostles. All 24 are Israelites, and John is among them. They are not out of every nation, only out of Israel.
The saints out of all nations, including Israel, are singing the new song in Rev. 5:9 after the Pre-Trib Rapture.
After the Pre-Wrath Rapture, only the 144,000 can sing the new song. Rev. 14:3 says, "they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth."
Why? because "they are virgins...without fault before the throne of God" (Rev. 14:4,5).
The saints of the 1st Rapture are wise virgins. I think these, along with the 144,000 Israelites, are the Bride of Christ. Agape
The Scriptures seem to tell us that Y'shua (Jesus) died on Thursday...
Had Y'shua been buried on a Wednesday it would have been a serious violation of Jewish custom to have waited until Sunday to have gone to the grave. Jewish custom demands a burial within 3 days of a death. Once someone is laid to rest, the grave is not revisited after 3 full days have expired. To bury someone after 3 days have expired since they died or disturb the grave thereafter is considered a desecration by Jewish custom....
Now how does Jewish tradition count days? The Talmud says "part of a day is like a whole day" (Talmud, Pesachim 4a - See also Shabbat 9.3 of the Jerusalem Talmud)...
Over and over again, He says "3 days and 3 nights" and never "3 nights and 3 days". So we start the count of the days first, then the nights, which could only be done for a Thursday Resurrection....
Yet the Word tells us in Mark 16:9 that "Y'shua rose early on the first [day] of the week", not BEFORE Saturday night, not Saturday night, but Sunday morning. So His body was still in the grave Saturday night....
His body wasn't actually underground or in the earth, but above the earth, on an altar, concealed in a tomb....
Aviv 14 (evening) - Begins as we reach Mark 14:12 which says..."in the first day of unleaveness, when they killed the passover, his disciples say to him, `Where wilt thou, [that,] having gone, we may prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?" Now there's two timing clues on the date here...
"the first day of unleaveness". This could be talking about Aviv 14 or 15. Aviv 15 was the first LEGAL day of Unleavened Bread, but Jews would get their house ready by the 14th in order to be ready for the start of it on the 15th. So the 14th was the first day on a de facto basis. "when they killed the passover". There's no ambiguity to this one. The lamb was killed on the 14th "between the mixings". So the timing for this day was the 14th of Aviv. It would have been the evening of the 14th, since Y'shua was killed on the afternoon of the 14th. History tells us that the Essenes and Samaritans, and probably the Galileans, ate the paschal meal on the eve of the 14th, while the Pharisees and Saduccess ate it on the eve of the 15th. The Law does not prescribe when the lamb must be eaten, only when it must be killed.
Aviv 14 (Daytime) - Begins with the arrest of Y'shua and His trial. Yochanan / John 19:14 tells us it was not yet Passover, as it was celebrated by greater Judea....
Aviv 13 - Y'shua annointed at Bethany (the second time) "two days before" Passover. (Mark 14:1-11) ...
Aviv 14 (evening) - Begins as we reach Mark 14:12 which says..."in the first day of unleaveness, when they killed the passover, his disciples say to him, `Where wilt thou, [that,] having gone, we may prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?" ...
So if we assume that the night of His "dinner in His honor" in Bethany was an Erev Shabbat, all the timing of the events fit together neatly and lead up to a Thursday crucifixion. Else, we put His arrival more than 6 days beforehand. Or you push His crucifixion beyond the 6 days John 12 talks about....
By the first possibility of chronology, indeed, Palm Sunday was a Sunday, the 10th of Aviv, which began on Saturday evening and ended Sunday evening. Making Monday during the day the 11th, Tuesday the 12th, Wednesday the 13th, and Wednesday Night thru Thursday sundown the 14th and day of His crucifixion. By the second, His entry into Jerusalem would have been on Monday the 11th.
Many have suggested that His entry into Jerusalem fullfilled the Torah type of Exodus/Shemot 12:3-6 that required a lamb to be selected on the 10th of Aviv and taken care of until the 14th. But His entry into Bethany should be considered a candidate for fullfilling this type as well....
Y'shua was born before Herod died 4 BC...
Historians date Herod's death at 4 BC due to a variety of reasons. Josephus says Herod was made king by the Roman government during the 184th Olympiad (44-40 BC, see Ant. 14:14:5), came to Jerusalem 3 years later (Antiquities 14:15:14) and conquered it during the 185th Olympiad (40-36 BC, see Antiquities 14:16:4), narrowing the time frame for his Roman coronation to 43-40BC. Herod died after "34 years; but since he had been declared king by the Romans, 37" (Ant... 17:8:1) Adding 37 years to the 43-40 BC period yields 6-3 BC.
Josephus also equates the 7th year of Herod with the battle of Actium (31 BC) as well as the 187th Olympiad (32-28 BC) in Antiquities. 14:5:2, one of the best referenced events in ancient history, making it easy to simply "do the math" to figure out when he died. Clearly, Josephus was marking the "7th year of Herod" relative to his taking the throne in Jerusalem (185th Olympiad), not being given the title in Rome, since 7 years from the 185th Olympiad (40-36BC) can get you to the 187th (32-28BC), but it takes more than that to get from the 184th to the 187th. Other similar datings follow the same patern1. Since Herod's death is measured as 34 years from assuming the throne and 37 from being granted the office (Ant. 17:8:1), counting forward from 31 BC as the 7th year puts us at 4 BC, consistant with other dating of other events.
Herod died between a lunar eclipse and Passover (Antiquities 17 6:4, 9:3). Astronomical calculations put 3 springtime eclipsed before the turn of the Millenium of...
total eclipse on March 23rd, 5 BC at 8.52 pm
partial eclipse on March 13th, 4 BC at 4.04 am
total eclipse on January 10th, 1 BC at 1.35 am
The one in 1 BC would be too late to reconcile with other records of Josephus. Historians have preferred the 4th over the 5th due to datings mentioned earlier.
Also, the dating of the reign of Archelaus, who succeeded Herod, gives other clues. Herod split his kingdom 3 ways after he died to...
his son Herod (4BC-39AD), tetrarch of Galilee and Perea, who ruled until 39 AD, and was thought to be the sole heir of Herod "the great" until Herod changed his will at the last minute before he died. Herod the Tetrarch also beheaded John the Baptist.
Philip (4BC-37AD) the tetrarch of Iturea & Trachonitis
and Archelaus (4BC-6AD) who recieved the kingdom of Judea, Samaria, Syria , etc.
Quirinius (also spelled Cyrenius) ruled Syria from 6BC to 4BC
(Succeeding Centius, 9-6BC). When Herod died, Herod willed the greater parts of the kingdom (apparently including the region of Quirinius according to Antiquities 17 13:5) to Archelaus (See Josephus' Antiquities 17 8:1, 13:5). Archelaus ruled for 10 years (See Josephus' Antiquities 17 13:2), but commited much evil and was removed from office by Augustus Caesar and banished to Vienna in 6 AD (or the 37th of Actium, according to Antiquities 18 2:1 among other records). Many Roman records confirm the reign of Archelaus as ending in the 37th year from the Battle of Actium (6 AD) after 10 years (including Dio, 200 AD). Count backwards, that puts the start of his reign at 4 BC, and would thus be the year Herod died and one of several reasons historians are in generally agreement on this as the year of Herod's death. A lunar eclipse on March 13th of 4 BC, only a few days/weeks before Passover, provided the two "bookend" events Josephus used to date Herod's death (See Josephus' Antiquities 17 6:4, 9:3)....
2 could only point to 30 AD as the year of His death. They are the opening of the Temple doors and the discontinuance of the death sentence by the Sanhedrin in 30 AD....

I think you have the day (Thursday) and year (30 AD) right. If I may, I'd like to give you some further food for thought concerning the Jewish date.
According to YourSky (http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Yoursky), April 6, 30 AC fell on Thursday. I think that is the day of the Crucifixion on "the preparation of the passover" (Jn. 19:14).
We know that Yeshua was resurrected as the Firstfruits on Sunday. I Cor. 15:20 says, "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept."
Mar 16:9 says, "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene." To me, Sunday, as Resurrection Day and Feast of Firstfruits is fixed. All other days in what is called Passion Week can be counted from that Sunday.
Sunday was the Feast of Firstfruits, Nisan 16. The preceding feast, on Saturday, Nisan 15, was the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The feast preceding that was Passover, Nisan 14, Friday. The "preparation of the passover" (John 19:14) was Thursday, Nisan 13. Jesus was crucified on "the preparation of the passover," Thursday, Nisan 13, 3790.
Lev. 23:4-7 says, "These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the FOURTEENTH day of the first month at even is the LORD's PASSOVER. And on the FIFTEENTH day of the same month is the FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein."
John 19:31 says, "The Jews therefore, because IT WAS THE PREPARATION, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an HIGH DAY,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."
The "Tractate Sanhedrin" in the Babylonian Talmus says, "On the Eve of Passover Yeshu was hanged" (Sanhedrin 43a GBT VII. pg. 181; SBT pg. 281). I think they had that right.
Josephus, a Pharisee priest, said, "In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan, and is the beginning of our year, ON THE FOURTEENTH DAY of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries, (for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage under the Egyptians,) the law ordained that we should every year slay that sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and which was called the PASSOVER; and so do we celebrate this passover in companies, leaving nothing of what we sacrifice till the day following. THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD SUCCEEDS THAT OF THE PASSOVER, AND FALLS ON THE FIFTEENTH DAY of the month, and continues seven days, wherein they feed on unleavened bread; on every one of which days two bulls are killed, and one ram, and seven lambs. Now these lambs are entirely burnt, beside the kid of the goats which is added to all the rest, for sins; for it is intended as a feast for the priest on every one of those days. But ON THE SECOND DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, WHICH IS THE SIXTEENTH DAY OF THE MONTH, THEY FIRST PARTAKE OF THE FRUITS OF THE EARTH, for before that day they do not touch them. And while they suppose it proper to honour God, from whom they obtain this plentiful provision, in the first place, they offer the first-fruits of their barley" (Ant. III. X. 5).
Here is how it looks to me. The fixed day is Resurrection Sunday. Since the 2nd day of unleavened bread is Nisan 16, not only is Sunday locked in, but Saturday, the 1st day of unleavened bread (Nisan 15) is too. With those locked in, Friday (Nisan 14) and Thursday (Nisan 13) become locked in also.
Here is how the days would have followed each other in the month of Abib/Aviv/Nisan, 3790, in 30 AD.
Thu., Nisan 13, Apr 6, preparation of the passover, Crucifixion
Fri.., Nisan 14, Apr 7, Passover, "high day" Sabbath
Sat., Nisan 15, Apr 8, Unleavened Bread, weekly Sabbath
Sun, Nisan 16, Apr. 9, Firstfruits, Resurrection
Nisan 13, Crucifixion Day, began at 6 PM on Nisan 12 (See Lev. 23:32; from the 9th at even to the 10th at even, the Day of Atonement is kept). Jesus died about 3 PM on Nisan 13. He was put in a tomb hewn out of Jerusalem limestone above the ground between the evenings, between 3 and 6 PM.
Jesus was never buried in the ground. Therefore, the "three days and three nights IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH" (Mt. 12:40), refer back to when Jesus died, about 3 PM on Nisan 13. At that time, being free of his body, he visited the spirits in prison. 1Pe 3:18,19 says, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison." This prison was "in the heart of the earth."
Therefore, the 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth were Thursday (3 to 6 PM, 1st day), Friday (1st night, 2nd day), Saturday (2nd night, 3rd day), and Sunday (3rd night).

They ate it during the night portion of Nisan 14. First, there were 12 hours of night, then 12 hours of day. Ex. 12:10 says, "ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning (6 AM, Nisan 14); and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire."
My chronology of the whole 9 days follows. Jesus came to Bethany on Saturday, 6 days BEFORE Friday, Nisan 14, the Passover (John 1:1,12,13). Those 6 days were (1st) Saturday, (2nd) Sunday, (3rd) Monday, (4th) Tuesday, (5th) Wednesday, and (6th) Thursday.
Sat, Nisan 8, Apr 1, Jesus arrived at Bethany near when it began at 6 PM on Friday, and was fed food that they had prepared before 6 PM on Friday, Preparation Day
Sun, Nisan 9, Apr 2, Palm Sunday, presented himself as King of the Jews. Zech 9:9 says, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, THY KING cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."
Mon, Nisan 10, Apr 3 (day the lambs were chosen), cursed the fig tree (Israel) for not accepting him, purified the temple
Tue, Nisan 11, Apr 4, fig tree dried up, gave Olivet Discourse
Wed, Nisan 12, Apr 5, anointed for burial as the day started in the evening
Thu, Nisan 13, Apr 6, Preparation Day, Last Supper, trial, Crucifixion,
Fri, Nisan 14, Apr 7, Passover
Sat, Nisan 15, Apr 8, Unleavened Bread
Sun, Nisan 16, Apr 9, Firstfruits, Resurrection, 3rd day "since" crucifixion
Thanks for researching and writing "The Night He Died." I enjoyed reading it. I like the way you reason, taking all Scripture as true and letting the chips fall where they may. I appreciate your historical approach to the date of Herod's death. God bless you in every way.
I hope my additional information is helpful. Agape
