..."ELOHIM" (or Elohay) is the first name for God found in the Bible, and it's used throughout the Old Testament over 2,300 times. Elohim comes from the Hebrew root meaning "strength" or "power", and has the unusual characteristic of being plural in form. In Genesis 1:1, we read, "In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth." Right from the start, this plural form for the name of God is used to describe the One God, a mystery that is uncovered throughout the rest of the Bible. Throughout scripture, Elohim is combined with other words to describe certain characteristics of God. Some examples: Elohay Kedem - God of the Beginning: (Deuteronomy 33:27)...Elohay Yishi - God Of My Salvation: (Psalm...25:5)....
"EL" is another name used for God in the Bible, showing up about 200 times in the Old Testament. El is the simple form arising from Elohim, and is often combined with other words for descriptive emphasis. Some examples: El HaNe'eman - The Faithful God: (Deuteronomy 7:9). El HaGadol - The Great God: (Deuteronomy 10:17). El HaKadosh - The Holy God: (Isaiah 5:16). El Yisrael - The God Of Israel: (Psalm 68:36). El HaShamayim - The God Of The Heavens: (Psalm 136:26). El De'ot - The God Of Knowledge: (1 Samuel 2:3). El Emet - The God Of Truth: (Psalm 31:6). El Yeshuati - The God Of My Salvation: (Isaiah 12:2)....
The Lord Revealed in YHVH is the Lord Revealed in Yeshua (Jesus)...
Jesus replied, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM." Those Jewish leaders understood that Jesus was claiming to be YHVH. This is clearly established when they tried to stone Him to death for what they considered blasphemy under Jewish Law. In Romans 10:9, Paul declares, "if you confess with your mouth Yeshua as LORD... you shall be saved." Immediately thereafter, in Romans 10:13, Paul backs up this declaration by quoting the Old Testament, "Whoever will call upon the name of the LORD (YHVH) will be saved" (Joel 2:32). Calling on Yeshua (Jesus) as Lord is the same as calling Him YHVH, because Yeshua (Jesus) is YHVH (LORD), the Messiah foretold throughout the entire Old Testament....
(1) Jesus. (2) I believe every scripture, including Heb. 12:2.
Heb 12:1,2 says, "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and LET US RUN WITH PATIENCE THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US, Looking unto Jesus the author (archegos, author, beginner, captain, prince) and finisher (teleiotes, completer, consummater) of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Archegos is translated "captain" in Heb. 2:10,11. Jesus is the captain of our salvation. It says, "it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, TO MAKE THE CAPTAIN OF THEIR SALVATION PERFECT THROUGH SUFFERINGS. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one (i.e., all part of the Body of Christ): for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren".
One race that we are running is to win the prize of being part of the Bride of Christ caught up to Heaven in the Pre-Trib Rapture. Phil. 3:14 says, "I press toward the mark for the PRIZE of the high calling (the 'Come up hither' of Rev. 4:1) of God in Christ Jesus."
1Co 9:24-27 says, "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the PRIZE? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a CASTAWAY." The castaways are the foolish Laodicean virgins. They do not have white garments or enough oil of the Holy Spirit. Heb 6:12 says "BE NOT SLOTHFUL, BUT FOLLOWERS OF THEM WHO THROUGH FAITH AND PATIENCE INHERIT THE PROMISES."
Some inherit the promises. Others don't. Faith in Christ is necessary. John 3:16 -18 says, "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, BECAUSE HE HATH NOT BELIEVED IN THE NAME OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD."
Israel in the desert is a type of some not entering into Christ's kingdom. Heb 3:6-11 says, "Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF WE HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE AND THE REJOICING OF THE HOPE (the blessed hope, Titus 2:13) FIRM UNTO THE END. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER INTO MY REST.)"
> > > The first death is of the body. The second death is of the soul. No third death is mentioned. All that will be left will be their worm that dieth not. In Mark 9:44, Jesus said, "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Don't you believe Jesus means what he says? He is God, you know.
~~~LET ME KNOW WHERE IN THE WORLD FIRE AND BRIMSTONE CAN BURN A SPIRIT BEING...AND WHERE WORMS CAN DEVOUR A SPIRIT BEING AFTER THEIR PHYSICAL NATURE IS DEAD.
What is left of an unbeliever after the Second Death is "their worm that dieth not." It can't be much. Emotions like love are of the soul. It died in the Second Death. 1Co 2:11 tells us a little bit about the spirit of man. It says, "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the SPIRIT OF MAN which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."
> > > What sometimes makes it seem that we are predestined is the fact that God has foreknowledge. He knows what we are going to do before we do it. He sets before us two ways. Mat 7:13 says, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat." It is as though someone could go through the wide gate, look back and see that their name was on the inside of the wide gate all along. God knew.
~~~THEN YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE SCRIPTURES IN THE BIBLE ABOUT PREDESTINATION AND ELCTION?
~~~"FOR WHOM HE DID FOREKNOW, HE ALSO DID PREDESTINATE TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, THAT HE MIGHT BE THE FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY BRETHREN 30) MOREOVER WHOM HE DID PREDESTINATE, THEM HE ALSO CALLED: AND WHOM HE CALLED, THEM HE ALSO JUSTIFIED: AND WHOM HE JUSTIFIED, THEM HE ALSO GLRIFIED.:..(ROMANS 8: 29 AND 30)
~~~"HAVING PREDESTINATED US UNTO THE ADOPTION OF CHILDREN BY JESUS CHRIST TO HIMSELF, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL. TO THE PRAISE OF THE GLORY OF HIS GRACE, WHEREIN HE HATH MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED. [EPHESIANS 1:5 AND 6]
~~~"HAVING MADE KNOWNUNTO US THE MYSTERY OF HIS WILL [UNIVERSAL SALVATON!!!!] ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PLEASURE WHICH HE HATH PURPOSED IN HIMSELF: 10) THAT IN THE DISPENSATION OF THE FULNESS OF TIMES HE MIGHT GATHER TOGETHER IN ONE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST, BOTH WHICH ARE IN HEAVEN, AND WHICH ARE ON EARTH; EVEN IN HIM: 11) IN WHOM ALSO WE HAVE OBTAINED AN INHERITANCE, BEING PREDESTINATED ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE OF HIM WHO WORKETH ALL THINGS [WHETHER YOU ARE TO BE SAVED IN THIS "AION" OR NOT] AFTER THE COUNSEL OF HIS OWN WILL.' (EPH 1:9-
A person is given free will. He can choose to accept Christ as his Saviour, or he can choose not to accept Christ. Those that choose Christ, believers, are predestined to be conformed to His likeness.
Rom 8:28-31 says, "we know that all things work together for good TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. For whom (believers) he did foreknow, HE ALSO DID PREDESTINATE TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren (believers). Moreover whom (the believers) he did predestinate, them (the believers) he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them (believers) he also glorified. What shall we (believers) then say to these things? If God be for us (believers), who can be against us?"
Eph 1:1-14 says, "Paul...TO THE FAITHFUL IN CHRIST JESUS: Grace be to you (believers), and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us (believers) with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us (believers) in him before the foundation of the world, that we (believers) should be holy and without blame before him in love: HAVING PREDESTINATED US (BELIEVERS) UNTO THE ADOPTION OF CHILDREN by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us (believers) accepted in the beloved. In whom WE (believers) HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times (the day of the general assembly in Heaven, Heb. 12:23) he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven (those that were caught up in the Pre-Trib Rapture), and which are on earth (the Tribulation saints are raptured at this time); even in him." In whom also WE (BELIEVERS) HAVE OBTAINED AN INHERITANCE, BEING PREDESTINATED ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE OF HIM who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That WE should be to the praise of his glory, WHO FIRST TRUSTED IN CHRIST. IN WHOM YE ALSO TRUSTED after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession".
Of the day of the general assembly in Heaven, Mar 13:27 says, "And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the EARTH to the uttermost part of HEAVEN." Heb. 12:22,23 says, "ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the GENERAL ASSEMBLY and church of the firstborn, which are written IN HEAVEN, and to God the Judge of all".
> > > We are still being tested to see if we will obey God. Will we enter in at the strait gate? or take the wide gate "that leadeth to DESTRUCTION"?
~~~AGAIN, CAN A MAN OR WOMAN WHO IS NOT BORN AGAIN OBEY GOD? THE NATURAL MAN CANNOT OBEY GOD: "BUT THE NATURAL MAN RECEIVETH NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD; FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHMNESS UNTO HIM: NEITHER CAN HE KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED." [1 COR 2:14]
The message of how to be saved is very plain. Anyone in his right mind can understand it. Prophecy is hard to understand. We need the Holy Spirit for that. Rom 10:9,10 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
> > > Rev. 20:10,14,15 (KJV) says, "the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented DAY AND NIGHT for ever and ever...
~~~AND THE GATES OF IT SHALL NOT BE SHUT AT ALL BY DAY: FOR THERE SHALL BE NO NIGHT THERE." [REV 21:25]
These two are poles apart. The first is in the Lake of Fire on Earth. The second is in the heavenly New Jerusalem.
~~~~THE LAKE OF FIRE IS "THE SECOND DEATH." AND THE BIBLE SAYS CHRIST FINALLY DESTROYS THE SECOND DEATH [THE LAKE OF FIRE]: "FOR HE MUST REIGN, TILL HE HATH PUT ALL ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET. 26) THE LAST ENEMY THAT SHALL BE DESTROYED IS DEATH." [1 COR 15:25,26]
~~~ AND CHRIST DOES THIS AFTER HE SAVES EVERY LOST PERSON [WHICH IS WHAT HE CAME INTO THIS WORLD TO DO, ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURE:
~~~"FOR THE SON OF MAN IS COME TO SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST" [MAT 18:11] ARE YOU SAYING HE WILL FAIL TO DO THIS, MARILYN?
The last enemy is ordinary death. Eternity future will begin.
I don't think the Bible says that he will destroy the Lake of Fire. Isa 34:8-10 says, "it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever."
If this fire "shall not be quenched night nor day," "none shall pass through it for ever and ever." Rev. 20:10,14,15 says, "the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented DAY AND NIGHT for ever and ever."
In Mat 18:10,11, while Jesus was on Earth, he said, "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. For the Son of man is come (i.e., to Earth, FIRST ADVENT) to save that which was lost."
His death and resurrection made it possible for the lost to be saved. By paying the price for sin, he took sin out of the way as an issue in salvation. Now, it is "What think ye of Christ? WHOSE SON IS HE?" (Mt. 22:42).
In the Old Testament, Pro 30:4 asked, "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and WHAT IS HIS SON'S NAME, if thou canst tell?" Identifying the Son of God is very important. Man's eternal destiny depends on it.
> > > John 3:36 (KJV) says, "He that BELIEVETH ON THE SON HATH EVERLASTING LIFE: AND HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT THE SON SHALL NOT SEE LIFE; BUT THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDETH ON HIM."
~~~RIGHT AGAIN. BUT WHERE DO WE GET OUT BELIEF? PHILIPPIANS 1:29 SAYS, "FOR UNTO YOU IT IS GIVEN IN THE BEHALF OF CHRIST, NOT ONLY TO BELIEVE ON HIM, BUT ALSO TO SUFFER FOR HIS SAKE."
Read the context. In Phil. 1:27-29, Paul was talking to Philippian "saints in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 1:1). He said, "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. For unto you (Philippian saints in Christ Jesus) it is given in the behalf of Christ, NOT ONLY to believe on him (which they have already done), BUT ALSO to suffer for his sake."
> > > John 3:36 (Young) says, "he who is believing in the Son, HATH LIFE AGE-DURING; and he who is not believing the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God doth remain upon him."
~~~PHIL 1:29 AGAIN.
> > > To me, "age-during" contradicts the fact that the saints will become IMMORTAL (I Cor. 15:54).
~~~NOT TO ME. THE TERM IS ALSO APPLIED TO GOD. IS GOD LIMITED TO LIVING ONLY THROUGH ONE "AGE?" NO BECAUSE HE IS THE GOD OF THE "AGES!" AND HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US. THOUGH I MAKE MY BED IN HELL, THOU ART THERE, DAVID SAID. PUNISHMENT, HOWEVER, IS AGE-LASTING!" WHAT IS THE POINT OF ENDLESS PUNISHMENT? THEY YOU WILL TRY TO DO BETTER? WHEN? SINS COMMITTED DURING A TEMPORARY LIFETIME MUST BE PAID FOR ETERNALLY? DID CHRIST HANG ON THE CROSS ETERNALLY? IS HE STILL HANGING THERE IN AGONY, ETERNALLY?
Do you think you have eternal life? Take a look at Mt. 25:46. It says, "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." Don't you think you will be made immortal?
I Cor. 15:51-54 says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."
A person who is immortal can't die. He/she lives eternally. If "life eternal" means forever, "everlasting punishment" means forever.
> > (NLT) "ALL WHO BELIEVE IN GOD'S SON HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. THOSE WHO DON'T OBEY THE SON WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE ETERNAL LIFE, but the wrath of God remains upon them."
~~~CHECK OUT NEVER IN THE CONCORDANCE. IT MEANS "NOT UNTO THE AGE!"
In John 3:36, underneath the Greek words in Green's Interlinear, it says, "He that believes on the Son has life eternal; and he that is not subject to the Son shall NOT see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." The word translated "NOT" is "OU." Strong's Concordance has for OU, "neither, NEVER, no (X man), none, [can-] not, + nothing, + special, un ([-worthy]), when, + without, + yet but."
It doesn't include "not unto the age."
In the back of Young's Concordance, it shows how many times OU is translated a certain way. It says,
at all 3
With another word such as tis often translated by one English word, e.g., no, nothing, never, neither. With me (ou me) rendered not, by no means, in no wise, etc."
In Young's, under "NOT", I found "ou" and only the word "not."
It doesn't include "not unto the age," either. Therefore, "NEVER EXPERIENCE ETERNAL LIFE" seems like a good translation. > > > Jn. 3:36 (NKJV) "HE WHO BELIEVES IN THE SON HAS EVERLASTING LIFE; AND HE WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE THE SON SHALL NOT SEE LIFE, but the wrath of God abides on him."
~~~OF COURSE YOU WILL NOT SEE LIFE UNTIL YOU ARE GIVEN YOUR BELIEF IN THE SON! [pHIL 1:29]
Phil. 1:28,29 says of the Philippian saints, believers, "And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.
John 1:11-13 says, "He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." First, they "received him." Then, to those that received him, "gave he power to become the sons of God." This is similar to receiving salvation as a free gift. We have to take it before it can be said to be "received."
Receiving Him also reminds me that at the moment of salvation, Christ baptizes us with the Spirit of Christ. Rom 8:9 says, "ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
> > > John 3:36 (CJB) "WHOEVER TRUSTS IN THE SON HAS ETERNAL LIFE. BUT WHOEVER DISOBEYS THE SON WILL NOT SEE THAT LIFE but remains subject to God's wrath."
~~~ROMANS 15 [AFTER SAYING THAT ALL ISRAEL "SHALL BE SAVED [ROMANS 11:2], ROMANS 15:8-12 "NOW I SAY THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS A MINISTER OF THE CIRCUMCISION FOR THE TRUTH OF GOD, TO CONFIRM THE PROMISES MADE UNTO THE FATHERS: 9) AND THAT THE GENTILES MIGHT GLORIFY GOD FOR HIS MERCY; AS IT IS WRITTEN, FOR THS CAUSE I WILL CONFESS TO THEE AMONG THE GENTILES, AND SING UNTO THY NAME. 10) AND AGAIN HE SAITH, REJOICE YE GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE. 11) AND AGAIN, PRAISE THE LORD ALL YE GENTILES; AND LAUD HIM ALLYE PEOPLE. 12) AND AGAIN, ESAIAS SAITH, THERE SHALL BE A ROOT OF JESSE, AND HE THAT SHALL RISE TO REIGN OVER THE GENTILES; IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES TRUST."
~~~NOTICE THAT LAST WORD? IT IS "TRUST!" THAT IS UNIVERSAL SALVATION! TRUST IS LIKE "TO BELIEVE IN," OR TO "HAVE FAITH IN," ISN'T IT? SO ITS THE SAME AS PHIL 1:29 AND HEB 12:2, IS IT NOT?
First, Rom 9:6-8 says, "they are not all Israel, which are of Israel. Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."
Yes, Rom. 15:12 says, "IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES TRUST." The word translated "trust" is elpizo. Strong's says, "to expect or confide: (have, thing) hope (-d) (for), trust." Young's says, "to hope." It shows that elpizo is translated as:
have hope 1
hope for 2
thing hoped for 1
It says nothing about Universal Salvation.
Not all Israel is saved, and not all the Gentiles are saved, only those that believe in Yeshua/Jesus.
> > > I Tim 2:4 (Darby) "who DESIRES that all men should be saved and come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth."
~~~AND THE SCRIPTURES SAY, THAT GOD WILL "PERFORM ALL" HIS "PLEASURE [DESIRES]" [IS 44:28 AND 46:10]
"Pas," translated "all" in I Tim 2:4, means all, any or whosoever. That reminds me of Rev 22:17. It says, "the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him TAKE the water of life freely." The free gift is offered, but we have to TAKE it.
Isa 44:28 says, "That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid."
Isa 46:10 says, "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure."
I think that Rev. 22:16,17 is his pleasure, don't you? Jesus says, "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit (i.e., of God) and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him TAKE the water of life freely." In verse 20, Jesus says, "Surely I come quickly." The time for taking the water of life freely may now be short.
> > > "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE" (I Cor. 1:21).
~~~PHILIPPIANS 1:29 BELIEF IS GIVEN BY GOD!
Phil. 1:29 is talking to the Philippian saints, believers. It says, "because to you it was granted, on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also on behalf of him to suffer."
"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
"And it shall come to pass that WHOSOEVER calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Acts 2:21).
John 5:40 says, "ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." We have to come to him. Agape
Can you find any Scriptures that counter these?
We should always read the context before jumping to conclusions.
Col 1:16-23 says, "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel."
> > 1 Corinthians 3:15 All saved, so as by fire
I Cor. 3:9-17 says, "For we (believers, carnal and spiritual, v. 1) are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
