Incoming email, Re: James ossuary authentic

In this month's BAR, examination of the patina covering the word "Jesus" is proven to be authentic.

In the next article, the Jehoash inscription may well be authentic, but it is not proven yet. (In other words, it cannot be pronounced an absolute fake as some antiquities authorities have done) Agape --- http://www.biblicalarchaeologyreview.org/bswb_BAR/indexBAR.html The Seventh Sample IAA Report Shows Evidence for Authenticity of “Jesus” Hershel Shanks Even according to the scientists who claim that the “James, brother of Jesus” inscription is a fraud, a key part of the inscription may well be authentic. Not so fast, counters a leading Bible scholar.

My reply

Thanks. I'm anxious to read the latest on the James ossuary. I'm inclined to think it is authentic, and the Joash inscription as well. Since it broke too, I doubt that a forger could have put the inscription on without breaking it. These things are fragile. Agape

The Death of James

Biblical Archaeology and the James Ossuary, Part I
By Charles Page
http://www.crosswalk.com/news/1180609.html

The second century Christian writer Hegesippus offers a detailed account of the martyrdom of James. (See the link for details)....

‘And so he suffered martyrdom; and they buried him on the spot, and the pillar erected to his memory still remains, close by the temple. This man was a true witness to both Jews and Greeks that Jesus is the Christ.’ "

According to Hegesippus, James was thrown off the Temple on the southeastern corner. He did not die from the fall and was stoned in the Kidron Valley. Later traditions state that James was buried in the area of his death. Today this area is known as Silwan, the place where the ossuary of James was supposedly discovered prior to 1978....

The Alleged "Corruption of the Hebrew Text

This Is Appendix 93 From The Companion Bible.
http://www.therain.org/appendixes/app93.html

...The object of this Appendix is to show that those who are so ready to speak about "corruption" can have little or no knowledge of the Massorah, or of its object.

We have explained its character somewhat in Appendix 30. We now propose to point out that its one great special aim and end was to make such "corruption" impossible. (See link for details)

Well knowing the frailties and infirmities of human nature, those who had charge of the Sacred Text hedged it round on all sides with regulations and information called the Massorah, because it was meant to be " a fence to the Scripture", and because it should be, thus, next to impossible for a scribe to make a mistake in copying it....

I'm hoping that you can help me out. While searching for something I 'accidentally' ran across this web page: http://kenraggio.com/KRPN-Rapture.htm

Ken Raggio equates the first resurrection with the rapture and thus claims that the Mark of the Beast has to occur first. I cannot think of any scripture to refute this claim (which is frustrating)

Revelation 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
---
When is the Rapture? It may not be when you think! The Bible is very plain.
By Ken Raggio

This is the FIRST resurrection:

Revelation 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Do you realize what this verse tells us? The FIRST resurrection includes the saints who were beheaded in the Tribulation for the witness of Jesus, who had NOT WORSHIPPED THE BEAST, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads.

So, if you think you will be in the rapture before the Mark of the Beast, you had better find a scripture to countermand this one!

The FIRST RESURRECTION/ RAPTURE is after the Mark of the Beast!! This is the very same event that Paul announced in I Thessalonians 4:16-17, when "the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (KJV)

There will be NO resurrection before the Mark of the Beast.

Verse 5 completes the thought. "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. " It is extremely critical that you see that fact! Look at it and study it if you don't see it yet.

These verses are crystal clear - the first and ONLY time there is a general resurrection (as in "dead in Christ rising") is AFTER the Mark of the Beast!!

The SECOND resurrection is 1000 years later, not seven, as some would have you believe. This totally eliminates the possibility of anybody being saved after the rapture. There won't be another resurrection for 1000 years, and it will only be the wicked dead.

I know that many of you have said, "You post-tribbers can hang around for the tribulation, but I'm going in the Rapture!" Well, friend, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there is NO RESURRECTION or RAPTURE before the Mark of the Beast....

The following material presents the scriptures that I believe teach the above-stated conclusions. You will see the following sequence in Daniel, Matthew, Luke, 1 Thessalonians, and Revelation --

1. Antichrist revealed (beginning of the seven years)
2. Abomination of Desolation (middle of the seven years)
3. Great Tribulation, or Jacob's Trouble (second half)
4. Rapture / First Resurrection - (end of seven years)
5. Wrath of God (end of seven years)
6. Second Coming / Armageddon / Marriage Supper...

The first resurrection (and simultaneous rapture) is at the end of the seven years.

No more dead are resurrected for a thousand years.

Don't expect to ever be saved it you miss the one and only rapture!

The second resurrection is the wicked dead at the end of the Millennium.

Daniel saw 1) Antichrist revealed, and in his temple in Jerusalem, at the time of the Abomination. 2) Jacob's trouble -- the great tribulation, 3) The righteous resurrected (the rapture), 4) Judgment of the wicked (the wrath of God).

Again and again, the Bible supports this sequence.

What is the conclusion of the matter. Friend, don't be naive and think that you are going to be raptured out of here without facing great tribulation. Prepare yourself spiritually, mentally and physically!

We are NOT appointed to the Wrath of God, but we ARE appointed to TRIBULATION. If this church doesn't face great tribulation, God would need to apologize to every previous generation of righteous men. They were all tried in the fire....

My reply
(all scriptures are from the KJV unless otherwise noted)

Ken Raggio based this whole teaching on one verse, Rev. 20:4. He interpreted everything else he listed in the light of that one verse.

That is why we were given 2Pe 1:20,21: "Knowing this FIRST, that no PROPHECY of the scripture is of any private (idios; pertaining to itself, apart, separate) interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

God put prophecy clues in various places (Isa. 28:13) so that none of the wicked would understand (Dan. 12:10). One scripture should be interpreted in the light of the whole Bible. That's why the more one knows about the whole Bible, the more he can see in one passage.

What Ken failed to see is that the First Resurrection is in ranks. Jesus was at the head of the first rank, those that came out of their graves and were seen in Jerusalem followed him. Mt. 27:52 says, "the graves were opened; and MANY BODIES OF THE SAINTS WHICH SLEPT AROSE, And came out of the graves AFTER HIS RESURRECTION".

I Cor. 15:23 (Darby) says,."But each in his own RANK: [the] first-fruits, Christ; then those that are the Christ's at his coming."

Christ is the firstfruit. Rom 11:16 says, "For if THE FIRSTFRUIT be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches." After him came the OT saints that came out of their graves after His resurrection.

Jesus took the OT saints to Heaven on Resurrection Sunday. In John 20:17, "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." Late in the day, he could be touched.

Believers are a kind of firstfruits. James 1:18 says, "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we (the wise virgins) should be a kind of FIRSTFRUITS of his creatures." The 144,000 Israelites are also firstfruits. Rev 14:4 says, "These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the FIRSTFRUITS unto God and to the Lamb."

These are two different groups. The wise virgins are caught up to Heaven before the Tribulation, in the Pre-Trib Rapture. The 144,000 virgins are caught up to Heaven just before the wrath of God hits Earth. That is the Pre-Wrath Rapture.

The first group is seen in Heaven in Rev. 5:8-10. It says, "...saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed US to God by thy blood OUT OF EVERY KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, AND NATION; And hast made US unto our God kings and priests: and WE shall reign on (epi, over) the earth." This group includes John and the other apostles, who join the OT patriarchs on thrones right after Christ says, "Come up hither" (Rev. 4:1-4). The 24 elders are all Israelites, 12 apostles and 12 patriarchs. I believe this group out of every nation is the Bride of Christ. They are caught up to Heaven before Christ breaks the first seal on the Title Deed of the Earth in Rev. 6. This 1st group to be raptured sing the "new song." This is the next rank in the First Resurrection.

The 144,000 Israelites are added to the Bride group at the Pre-Wrath Rapture. They are not out of every nation, just Israel. They sing "as it were a new song before the throne" (Rev. 14:3). All the remainder of the saints of Christ are caught up at the same time as the 144,000. They are the "great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues" in Rev. 7:9. Both the 144,000 and the great multitude come "out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (Rev. 7:14). The Tribulation martyrs of Rev. 6:11 are also in this group. This is the last rank in the First Resurrection.

The Tribulation saints are caught up before noon on the Day of God's Wrath. His wrath hits Earth at noon. Zeph. 2:2-5 says, "Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be HID (i.e., be caught up to Heaven) in the day of the LORD'S anger. For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the NOON DAY, and Ekron shall be rooted up. Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast." The asteroid, the mountain burning with fire of Rev. 8:8 will impact the Mediterranean Sea.

Amos 8:9 says, "it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at NOON, and I will darken the earth in the clear day." Psa 91:5,6 says, "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at NOONDAY." Jer. 15:8 speaks of "a spoiler at NOONDAY." Isa 13:6 says, "Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come (first day of the Millennium) as a destruction from the Almighty." Joe 1:15 says, "Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty (Christ, Rev. 1:8, Isa. 9:6) shall it come."

There are two Raptures, two trumps of God, the Pre-Trib Rapture before the Tribulation and the Pre-Wrath Rapture at the end of the shortened Great Tribulation. The Pre-Wrath Rapture is on the Day of God's Wrath, but before God's wrath strikes Earth at noon (Zeph. 2:2-5)..

I Thess. 4:13-18 speaks of the Pre-Trib Rapture, the first trump of God. It says, "I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren (believers), concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them (the dead in Christ) also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (Old English for precede) them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

Michael the archangel will be present at both Raptures (I Thess. 4:16, Dan. 12:1-3). Neither will be Mid-Trib. Michael is busy chasing Satan and his angels out of Heaven at that time. Rev. 12:9 says of Satan, "he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

Rev. 3:8-12 says, "I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee (the Philadelphians whom Jesus had no words of condemnation for) an OPEN DOOR, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I ALSO WILL KEEP THEE FROM THE HOUR (hora, day, hour, instant, season) OF TEMPTATION, WHICH SHALL COME UPON ALL THE WORLD, TO TRY THEM THAT DWELL UPON THE EARTH. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem".

Isa 57:1-3 says, "The righteous perisheth (abad, ESCAPES, wanders away, vanishes), and no man layeth it to heart: and MERCIFUL MEN ARE TAKEN AWAY (acaph, gathered, removed, evacuated), none considering that THE RIGHTEOUS IS TAKEN AWAY (ACAPH, i.e., RAPTURED) FROM THE EVIL (i.e., THE TRIBULATION) TO COME. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds (Psa. 149:5), each one walking in his uprightness. But draw near hither (i.e., the Tribulation is near), ye sons of the sorceress (i.e., the harlot world church of Rev. 17 and Zech. 5:5f), the seed of the adulterer and the whore." Psa 149:5 says, "Let the SAINTS be joyful IN GLORY: let them sing aloud upon their beds."

Isa 57:1 (YLT) says, "The righteous hath perished (abad, ESCAPED, VANISHED, i.e., at the Pre-Trib Rapture), And there is none laying 'it' to heart, And men of kindness are GATHERED, Without any considering that from the face of evil GATHERED is the righteous one. And ye, come NEAR hither (i.e., the Tribulation is near), O sons of a sorceress, seed of an adulterer" This gathering is the first Rapture, as is "our GATHERING together unto him" in II Thess. 2:1.

The "last trump" of God sounds at the last Rapture. I Cor. 15:51-54 says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we (the entire group in Heaven) shall be changed (be made immortal). For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then (1st day of the Millennium) shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."

Dan 12:1,2 says, "And at that time (when the False Prophet is deposed, Isa. 11:45) shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be A TIME OF TROUBLE, SUCH AS NEVER WAS SINCE THERE WAS A NATION EVEN TO THAT SAME TIME: and at that time (Day of God's Wrath) thy people (Israel, i.e., the 144,000) shall be delivered (malat, 'ESCAPE,' as in the YLT, i.e. be raptured), every one (i.e., the sealed ones) that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake".

The Greek word for "FIRST" in "first resurrection" in Rev. 20:4 is protos, foremost (in time, place, order or importance): - before, beginning, best, chief (-est), first (of all), former. Truly, the First Resurrection is the best Resurrection.

Ken quoted Mt. 24 and said:
> > "THIRD - signs in the sky, the coming of the Lord, and the rapture! > > 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
> > Do you realize what those three verses say?
> > JESUS Himself told us very clearly that the angels would NOT gather the elect from the four winds (the Rapture) until AFTER the tribulation of those days (verse 21), which came AFTER the Abomination which maketh desolate (verse 15), which logically comes AFTER the revealing of the Antichrist and the Mark of the Beast in the first half of the week.

Ken didn't read Mt. 24:31 well enough. It says,: "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Since a Rapture gathers saints from Earth and transports them to Heaven, Mt. 24:31 is not a Rapture. It says, "they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, FROM ONE END OF HEAVEN TO THE OTHER."

This is the call for the Bride of Christ that was caught up to Heaven before the Tribulation to come to the GENERAL ASSEMBLY in Heaven on Christ's CORONATION DAY, the first day of his millennial reign. Heb. 12:22-24 (Weymouth) says, "you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the ever-living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to countless hosts of angels, to the GREAT FESTAL GATHERING (i.e., on the Feast of Trumpets that begins Christ's millennial rule) and Church of the first-born, whose names are recorded in Heaven, and to a Judge who is God of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, and to Jesus the negotiator of a new Covenant." Following the Coronation is the Marriage of the Lamb. Those gathered from one end of Heaven to the other are the Bride of Christ, the wise virgins.

Since the 144,000 are added to the Bride group, we can tell that the Second Rapture takes place at the same time that the Bride is being gathered from one end of Heaven to the other. Mark 13:27 says, "And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, FROM THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH to the uttermost part of heaven." Those gathered from the Earth are the Tribulation saints, including the 144,000.This Rapture completes the Body of Christ in Heaven. At this point, all the saints are in Heaven and all the unbelievers are on Earth. God's wrath will be poured out on those left on Earth. No saint experiences God's Wrath. "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (1Thess 5:9 ).

Rev. 11:15-19 says, "the seventh angel sounded (the 7th trumpet); and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord (YHVH King of Israel), and of his Christ (YHVH of hosts, the Redeemer, Isa. 44:6); and he (the Lord Jesus Christ, now crowned) shall REIGN for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty (Christ, Rev. 1:8, Isa. 9:6), which art (on Coronation Day, 1st day of the Millennium), and wast (at the First Advent), and art to come (at the Second Advent 7 months in the future, Eze. 39:12,13); because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry (Gog's army is attacking Israel, Eze. 38), and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged (at the Judgment Seat of Christ), and that thou shouldest give REWARD UNTO THY SERVANTS THE PROPHETS, AND TO THE SAINTS, AND THEM THAT FEAR THY NAME, SMALL AND GREAT; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail."

The two stone tablets with God's commandments on them stood for the two asteroids of Rev. 8:8 and 10. At this point, the two real stones, the asteroids, are dumped on Earth. This is the wrath of God that will hit unbelievers. This is what it takes to bring Israel to Christ. This is the day that the nation will be saved in a day. Isa. 66:8 says, "Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." From this day, Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets, the Jews have 7 months to bury the dead and cleanse the land for the return of Christ in glory (Eze. 39:12,13). I expect Him to return on the first day of the Regnal and Sacred Year in a Jewish Leap Year. Other years have only 6 months between Tishri 1 and Nisan 1.

Ken said:
> > Paul taught that the day of the Lord and our gathering together unto him (the Rapture) WOULD NOT COME until the man of sin is revealed.
> > 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4: Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
> > PLEASE LEARN what these four verses teach!
> > Paul instructed the Thessalonians NOT TO BE TRICKED into thinking that the Lord had already come (that was circulating in their days)
> > He promised them that the Lord would NOT come before there was a GREAT FALLING AWAY, and the MAN OF SIN BE REVEALED, etc.
> > In other words, part of Paul's assurance to the Thessalonians that Jesus had not yet come hinged upon the fact that the MAN OF SIN must be revealed before the Church will be "gathered together unto Him (Jesus)."

Our gathering together unto Christ is the Pre-Trib Rapture. The Day of the Lord (as in almost all major MSS) is the day of the 2nd Rapture, the Pre-Wrath Rapture. The Day of the Lord will not come until after the Pre-Trib Rapture has taken place and the man of sin has been revealed during the Tribulation. He will sit in the temple "shewing himself that he is God" in the middle of the Tribulation, but he will probably be revealed at the beginning of the Tribulation when he strengthens the 7-year peace covenant of Dan. 9:27.

ORDER OF EVENTS 1. Pre-Trib Rapture, "first," II Thess. 2:3
2. Man of sin revealed when he signs peace treaty as Tribulation begins
3. Man of sin sits in the temple Mid-Trib
4. Pre-Wrath Rapture as the Day of the Lord begins on Feast of Trumpets
5. Wrath of God poured on unbelievers at noon Tishri 1
6. Second Advent Nisan 1, 7 months after the Day of God's Wrath
7. Armageddon, Christ's army against Satan's army

In II Thess. 2:3, the Greek "he apostasia" means "the departure." Early Bibles translated it as departure--Tyndale's translation, Cranmer's version, The Great Bible, Breecher's Bible, Beza's translation and the Coverdale Bible.

Here are two modern versions that have "the departure" in II Thess. 2:3: The Hebrew Names Version (HNV) says "Let no one deceive you in any way. For it (i.e., the Day of the Lord) will not be, unless THE DEPARTURE (i.e., the Pre-Trib Rapture) COMES FIRST, and the man of sin is revealed" (SECOND).

The World English Bible (WEB) says, "Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless THE DEPARTURE comes FIRST, and the man of sin is revealed."

Ken said,
> > There will be survivors of the endtime church ALIVE on earth when the Antichrist commits the Abomination of Desolation - a sobering thought!
> > JESUS taught it in Matthew 24, so why wouldn't PAUL?

Jesus didn't teach it in Mt. 24:31. That gathering is from one end of HEAVEN to the other end of HEAVEN. Paul didn't teach it in II Thess. 2:3, either. There, the departure" comes "first," and the revealing of the man of sin comes second. However, the foolish Laodicean virgins will be spued out of Christ's mouth and left behind at the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture. These believers will still be on Earth during the Tribulation. Rev. 3:16 (Weymouth) says, "because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, BEFORE LONG I will vomit you out of My mouth."

BEFORE LONG reflects that Revelation was written as if the Rapture was "at hand" (Rev. 1:3). Rev 3:10 (Weymouth) also shows that the Tribulation is coming soon. It says, "Because in spite of suffering you have guarded My word, I in turn will guard you from that hour of trial which is SOON COMING upon the whole world, to put to the test the inhabitants of the earth."

Ken said:
> > The narrative continues: Daniel 12:1 "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:"
> >> In the middle of the week, war develops between Antichrist and Michael, angel of God in behalf of Israel. Commonly called "Jacob's trouble", Israel will face its DARKEST HOUR ever!

The Great Tribulation does start Mid-Trib, but Dan. 12:1-3 takes place at the end of the shortened Great Tribulation. It is when the man of sin "shall come to his end" (Dan. 11:45). The time of Jacob's trouble is the Day of God's Wrath, the day the two asteroids of Rev. 8:8,10 impact Earth. The mountain burning with fire hits the Mediterranean Sea. The burning "aster" destroys Babylon.

> > At this time there are roughly six million Jews in Israel. Only 144,000 of them will be sealed. These are apparently the ones Jesus referred to as fleeing Judea (the West Bank), and given "two wings of an eagle" to escape (Revelation 12:14). The remaining millions of Jews will experience the most awful trial in the history of their nation.
> > What happens when "Jacob's trouble" begins? > > verse 11 (he means Dan. 12:1) "...and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

THY PEOPLE are the Israelites. Gog's army is attacking Israel. This army will be stopped by the asteroid impacting the Mediterranean Sea.

> > Who shall be delivered?
> > "everyone that shall be found written in the book" Who is that? Born-again believers! Apostate Jews are certainly not written in the book! Unbelieving Jews, no. Jews who deny Jesus Christ as Messiah? No!

> > Here again are two resurrections. A resurrection of the righteous. A resurrection of the wicked. Separate and different resurrections.
> > THE FIRST RESURRECTION is the SAME as the FIRST RESURRECTION in Revelation 20:4 and 5.
> > The SECOND RESURRECTION is also the same as the SECOND in Revelation 20:4,5, (after the millennium).
> > These are the same two resurrections John saw in Revelation 20:4 and 5: "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. "
> > The first resurrection (and simultaneous rapture) is at the end of the seven years.

This is the LAST RANK in the First Resurrection. Instead of it being the only Rapture, it is the last Rapture, the "last trump" of God (I Cor. 15:52,53). Where there is a LAST, there was a FIRST. The last trump is when the 144,000 Israelites of Rev. 7 are caught up. It is when the great multitude that no man can number are caught up. Among these are the foolish virgins left behind the first time. Rev 7:9 says, "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands". This is when all saints are in Heaven and all unbelievers are on Earth. It is the Day of the Lord that begins Christ's rule as King of kings and Lord of lords. His Coronation takes place in Heaven at the General Assembly of Heb. 12:23 on the Feast of Trumpets.

It is also the day that the nation of Israel will be born in a day (Isa. 66:8). God never leaves himself without a witness. These that accept Christ as King will live on into the Millennium on Earth.
