"Amok in Al Hillah"...

by scotchsky

Ancient Babylon...

Al Hillah is the modern city adjacent to the ruins of Babylon. We’ve visited the ruins on numerous occasions, and it is truly awe-inspiring. Very little restoration work has been done since the late-eighties, and we have almost unlimited access to the ruins.

Babylon is rich in fascinating history, boasting the dynasties of the biblical Nabuchadnazzer, Hammurabi (widely believed to be the first king to establish a code of laws), and finally, Alexander the Great....

I was most impressed by the beautifully restored throne room of Alexander, where he ruled and ultimately died. You may remember the legend of the owls, whose appearance throughout Babylon foretold Alexander's impending demise. Alexander re-vitalized a waning Babylon. He built the giant Greek theater, which he built from the materials of long-ruined Tower of Babylon....

Ur of the Chaldees...

The most dominating structure at Ur is the Ziggurat, an ancient temple to the Sumerian moon-god E Nannar. It was built around 4600 BC by King Ur-Nammu. It was excavated by the British in the 1920s. In 1999, the Vatican re-built the walls of Abraham?s birthplace, which is a huge house with 29 rooms and three courtyards. Abraham?s father was a very rich and powerful merchant and peddler of idols, so the story goes. Pope John Paul II had Abraham?s home re-built so that he could pray at the holy site. Personally, I also think that?s why the Italians are mucking around this part of Iraq. I?m sure if there is ever another large-scale restoration effort at Ur (and man, there should be!), the Vatican will want their mitts in it....

Incoming e-mail, Re: Hanukkah PreTrib Rapture

It has been sometime since I last corresponded with you which was a few years after my husband had gone to be with the Lord ( 1993). I wrote you back then for the first time regarding the Face on the Wailing Wall which I was seeing and finally the Lord made it clear enough for all to see. Then the Bride appeared which the Lord had revealed to you. So awesome!!

I have been humbled by these experiences and know the Lord is revealing so much more now, in these last days.

I am writing to tell you of two dreams I have had. The first one was in December of 2000 and the last one was on December 13, 2003. My health has been not too well of late and I tire easily so I have not been posting as much as I would like to. I read of Ed's problem and yours too. I have been praying for many people with these ailments and have included you both on my prayer list.

Dream #1

It was a beautiful day with a deep blue, cloudless sky. There was a brightness to the day but not from any sunlight. It appeared to be a Godly light! A steep hill was in front of me, and I began to climb.(I had to be a lot younger ,lol!) When I reached the summit I saw what appeared to be a greenhouse. As I moved closer to it I saw that t was indeed a greenhouse which had been architecturally combined into a ranch house as well. This wonderful home and greenhouse was built of a reddish brick with the greenhouse windows framed with a rich, shiny , dark brown mahogany! Each window was 4ft.x 4ft. and each pane of glass measured approximately about 6x6 inches. There were three partitions of glass and mahogany that made up the very front of the building.

The windows were all steamed and I could see a lot of greenery and colors galore. As I moved closer I beheld a fairy land !!! A misting device was being activated which was spraying a all the contents!! Christmas plants !! Each droplet on these gorgeous plants and their lush green fernery were covered with rainbow colors as were the windows as well. The array of plants ranged from simple little chrysanthemums to giant poinsettas and christmas cacti., kalanchoes of every shade and color imaginable., roses in reds, yellows pinks and whites. Each plant had its own range of colors. All so exquisitely displayed and all so very healthy!

I was in awe and suddenly as I moved towards the front door to the right of the greenhose itself. . .the door opened and my dear husband, was standing there with the biggest and best grin I could ever have imagine, He was so much younger, no gray hair and very handsome. He said" Well, I was able to finally build you a greenhouse; the one I promised you so long ago but never had the time to build. . . .and while I was at it I added the house too! These are all yours!!!

(He didn't say Merry Christmas but he seemed to know it was not Jesus birthday.) So it had to be Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, the time Jesus was conceived and became the Light of the World!! ) He hugged me and then I woke up. When I saw your article about Hanukkah and the possible day for the Rapture it was so wonderful!! Thank you Jesus!! Thank you, Marilyn for all of your studying and understanding of His Words!!

Dream #2

This dream came on Dec. 13th 2003. It was a week before Hanukkah .In the dream. I was looking at a huge billboard brightly lit with white lights that spelled out the following words. . ." Yahunnah is Coming!! At that time I was posting on the "Come Up Here" forum which is no longer in existence. I did not know what "Yahunnah" meant and the moderator told me that she remembered as a young girl, that word being said by a lady in her church when she was about to pray. She said the last she had heard, this lady was in a local nursing home in Australia where she also lived.

A few days later she Emailed me and said she was abl to contact the Lady, and said it meant "I AM !! which now read I AM IS COMING!! Directly beneath the white lighted message, was a second message but this one in red lights ( like a warning) it said "WATCH. .3AM to 10AM!! ....which I still have not been able to fully understand. A friend of mine said he thought it was some kind of a timeline having to do with our calendar and events to come.

I know that when it is 3AM in the eastern U.S.A. it is 7 hours later in Israel !!. (I even thought it might mean 3 "minutes after midnight" (AM) - 10 "minutes after midnight" (AM) which would be about the proper time for the Bridegroom to come!

In this dream I remember thinking this is the Festival of Lights which is only a week away. ( Found out later that it really was , the first candle to be lit was on the 19th of December that year! ) Your article really set my heart thumping for Jesus and His Coming!! Both these dreams indicate Hanukkah to me and I am delighted to see your article and its analysis in this last season of this year.!!

May the Lord's Blessings enrich you and Ed physically as well as mentally as we await His Call! .

Your wonderful Pros and Cons are read each time you have posted them. Love to you both in Jesus Love.
YsiC. . .

My reply

Thanks for your prayers, your kind words, and for sharing your dreams with us. One was on my birthday, Dec. 13.

I got a flu shot Wednesday, then came down with a bad cold, or something. Whatever it is, I get better each day, but am still dizzy and have a bad cough.

It is so neat that you saw your husband. You have an idea how he will look when you get together again. I love it that the Christmas plants places it in our December and the time of Hanukkah. May you meet again at Hanukkah. My dreams of Heaven had no tie-in with a certain season, but I saw two people I recognized, Ed's grandmother and a boy that had dated our daughter before he was killed in Viet Nam. I was instrumental in his accepting Christ, and in the dream, he ran up and hugged me.

A Messianic Jew called me. He had a good point, that the Rapture seemed more likely at Hannukah, a Jewish feast, than on Ascension Day, which had no tie-in to most of the Jews.

I like the tie-in with lights, since the 5 wise virgins had enough oil to keep their lamps burning brightly. Another thing seems significant too. At midnight on Dec. 16, the first day of Hannukah, the only planet visible in the sky will be Saturn. It will be on Saturday (Saturn's day) too. Saturn will be in the constellation Leo, the last one in the Zodiac. It stands for Christ as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. I think Saturn is Heaven, the place of the throne of Christ.

Eze. 1:26-28 says, "And above the firmament (expanse of space) that was over their heads (farther out in space than the four terrestrial planets) was the likeness of a THRONE, as the appearance of a SAPPHIRE stone (sapphire means dear to the planet SATURN, from the Sanskrit Sani, Saturn, and priya, dear): and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man (Christ) above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain (colored by sunlight on ice crystals), so was the appearance of the brightness round about (i.e., the ice-crystal rings of Saturn). This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD."

In Gen. 9:13, the Lord said to Noah, "I do set MY BOW in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth."

Noah's Flood was in 1656 AH, the year of man. In 1656 AD, astronomers figured out that Saturn had rings and a satellite, Titan. Noah's days on Earth ended when he died 350 years after the Flood, in 2006 AH. The Rapture is as the days of Noah. Will our days on Earth end in 2006 AD? I hope so. Agape

Incoming e-mail, Re: Preterism, Historicism, Futurism

I often read your site and have benefitted from it. I'm amazed at your energy!

I was sorry to read your comment about a contributor in the last pro/con - 'you sound like a preterist'. It is used as an epithet nowadays in 'prophecy circles' where people don't want to hear another point of view. I have been cursed (sadly that's how it was worded!) as one myself, though what I understand as preterism - ie that Bible prophecy was all fulfilled in the early Roman period - is far from what I believe. There have always been, and still are, plenty of people who see Bible prophecy as a gradually unfolding history of the times of the church, culminating in the rapture and judgement - the best word for us seems to be 'Historicist'. I know it's cool to be futurist nowadays, but that's not the only flavour in the church. I'm quite comfortable to be in the company of godly men like Grattan Guiness! ('Light for the last days' etc) and more recently Edgar Parkyns ('His Waiting Bride'), who I knew and admired. Both great missionary preachers as well as scholars.

Oh and by the way I do think that Jesus is the one who 'takes away the daily sacrifice'. 'He takes away the first so he may establish the second'. (Maybe it all happens 'in the middle of the week' between the 31/2 years of His ministry, and the 31/2 years from the cross to the stoning of Stephen and the turning of the gospel from the Jews ('your people') to the gentiles. That could be the 70th week for me? Follows straight on from the 69th, just as I'd expect.) Your brother, with love

My reply

Thank you for your kind words.

You may have been misled by someone. Let's think it through again together. I can see clearly that the 70th week of Daniel has not yet taken place. Dan. 9:26 (LITV) says, "And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself."

Here, there is a break. It lasts from 30 to 70 AD.

Continuing, it says of 70 AD, "And the people of A COMING RULER shall destroy the city and the sanctuary." If "a coming ruler" referred back to Christ, it would probably have said, "And his people." We know for sure that the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD, but the "coming ruler" did not come in 70 AD.

Here, there is another break. It lasts from 70 AD to the Tribulation (70th week of Daniel).

Dan 7:7,8 says, And it (the 4th world empire, Rome) was different from all the beasts before it (it is now Ecclesiastical Rome); and it had ten horns (to be crowned as the Tribulation begins, Rev. 13:1,2). I was thinking about the horns. And behold! ANOTHER LITTLE HORN (the False Prophet) came up among them, and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. And behold! In this horn were eyes like the eyes of the man, and a mouth speaking great things" (because he is Satan-possessed).

Today, "another" is yet to come. He is the "coming ruler" that will be revealed when he strengthens a covenant as the Tribulation begins. He will come to full power Mid-Trib when he takes the reins from the first beast of Rev. 13:3-10. In Rev. 13:11-18, he is "another beast." It says, "And I saw ANOTHER BEAST coming up out of the earth (i.e., Israel). And it had two horns (two comings in two sons of perdition, Judas Iscariot and the False Prophet) like a lamb (Christ has two comings), but spoke like a dragon" (Satan).

In Rev. 17:10, he is the "THE OTHER" that has "NOT YET COME" when the Rapture takes place.

Dan 9:26,27 (LITV) speaks of the "COMING RULER", who is "THE DESOLATOR." It says, "And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of A COMING RULER shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its (the sanctuary's) end shall be with the flood (a tsunami, when the asteroid of Rev. 8:8 impacts the Mediterranean Sea, Eze. 38:20), and ruins are determined, and war shall be until THE END (i.e., of Armageddon). And he (the COMING RULER) shall confirm (strengthen) a covenant with the many (probably the UN) for one week (7 years). And in the middle of the week (Mid-Trib) he (the false prophet) shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease (when he sits in the Temple 'shewing himself that he is God", II Thess. 2:4). And on a corner of the altar will be abominations (idols) that desolate, even until the end (of the Tribulation). And that which was decreed shall pour out on THE DESOLATOR."

There is a lot of the Bible that is not yet history. It includes the Pre-Trib Rapture, The Seventieth Week of Daniel, the Day of God's Wrath on the Day of the Lord and the Second Advent. God calls his shots before he makes them come to pass.

The future includes the Day of Jacob's Trouble. Of that day, Dan 12:1,2 (LITV) says, "And at that time (when the False Prophet is deposed, Dan. 11:45) shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time (the great and terrible Day of the Lord) thy people (the 144,000) shall be delivered (it's the Pre-Wrath Rapture), every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."

The destruction of Babylon is still future. It has never been destroyed as Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Isa. 13:19-20 is still future. It says, "And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be (i.e., in the future) as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah (i.e., with an asteroid impact). It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there."

Isa 14:22 is still future. It says, "For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and CUT OFF FROM BABYLON THE NAME, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD." When the Lord of hosts (the Redeemer, the King of Israel, Isa. 44:6) will rise up against them will be the future Day of God's Wrath.

Rev 18:21 is still future too. It says, "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all." During the war in Iraq, soldiers have been billeted in the city of Babylon. It can be found today.

Rev. 17 is written as if the Pre-Trib Rapture has just taken place. Verse 14 says, "he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and THEY THAT ARE WITH HIM ARE CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL." We are not yet with Christ. The Pre-Trib Rapture is still future. This will be at the time when the 10 kings have been chosen, but have not yet received their kingdoms. Verse 12 says, "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast." This Beast (the "COMING RULER" of Dan. 9:26) is still future too.

At the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture, there are "seven kings: five are fallen (Babel I, where the Mystery Religion of Babylon was set up, Babylon II, Media-Persia, Greece, and Imperial Rome), and one is (Ecclesiastical Rome), and the other (Babylon III) IS NOT YET COME; and when he (the 'COMING RULER', the False Prophet) cometh, he must continue a short space" (the Great Tribulation, last half of the Tribulation) (Rev. 17:10).

> > I do think that Jesus is the one who 'takes away the daily sacrifice'. Follows straight on from the 69th, just as I'd expect.)

Surely you don't really think it is possible that the last 3.5 years of the 69th week (Jesus' ministry) overlap the first 3.5 years of the 70th week?

Jesus died at the end of the 69th week. It seems that you really think that the 70th week began the next day. Jesus was in the grave the next day. How would he have confirmed a covenant with the many for one week while in the grave? That doesn't work for me.

You may be closing your eyes to the fact that there are two breaks in Dan. 9:26,27, one from 30 to 70 AD, the other from 70 AD to the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel, the Tribulation, maybe in 2007 AD. Or, if you admit that there is one break, between 30 and 70 AD, why can't there be another break starting in 70 AD?

Since "Messiah the Prince" was killed ("karath") in 30 AD, I see no way that the "coming ruler" (future tense) can be "Messiah the Prince." His people, the Christians, did not destroy Jerusalem and the Temple, the Romans did, and Jesus was never a Roman ruler. The Christians fled to Pella when there was a lull in the fighting.

Dan. 9:26,27 (LITV) says, "And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off (karath, killed), but not for Himself (for us). And the people (Romans) of A COMING RULER (The Beast) shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end shall be with the flood (i.e., tsunami, because the asteroid of Rev. 8:8 will hit the Mediterranean Sea), and ruins are determined, and war shall be until the end. And he (the Beast, the idol shepherd, the wolf in sheep's clothing) shall confirm a covenant with the many for one week (the 7-year Tribulation). And in the middle of the week (Mid-Trib) he (the Beast) shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease (when Satan indwells him and he sits in the Temple "shewing himself that he is God," II Thess. 2:4). And on a corner of the altar will be abominations (idols) that desolate, even until the end. And that which was decreed (the asteroid impacts of Rev. 8:8,10) shall pour out on the desolator" (the Beast).

Zech. 11:17 says of the Beast, "Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! (he will go to Babylon) the sword (Sword of the Lord, the asteroid) shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened." These things will happen to the Beast, not to Christ, the good shepherd. Isa 34:5 says, "For My sword is drenched in the heavens. Behold, it (the asteroid, the Sword of the Lord) shall come down on Edom, and on the people of My curse, for judgment." This is still future. It will destroy Babylon so no man will ever set foot there again.

This Sword of the Lord was set up in Gen 3:24. It says, "And He drove the man out. And He lodged the cherubs (the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) at the east of the Garden of Eden, and the flaming sword (the asteroid) whirling around (rotating and orbiting) to guard the way of (to) the Tree of Life" (in Heaven, Saturn, the third heaven, II Cor. 12:2) (also see Rev. 22:2).

In II Cor. 12:2, Paul said, "I know a man (Paul himself) in Christ fourteen years before--whether in the body, I do not know, or out of the body, I do not know, God knows--such a one WAS CAUGHT UP TO THE THIRD HEAVEN" (Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn).

Jer 50:40 says of Babylon's future, "As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, states Jehovah, so no man shall live there, nor shall a son of man stay in it." That has not yet come true, but it will happen on the future Day of God's Wrath, on the great and terrible Day of the Lord.Agape

Incoming e-mail, Re: "Hanukkah Puzzle: Putting It All Together."

Many thanks for sending me the article.

Why some people think that Gog's army will invade Israel at the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel is beyond my understanding. I can easily see that it has to happen at the end, on the Day of God's Wrath, for this army will be annihilated on the mountains of Israel. Eze. 39:4 says, "Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured." The Israelites in the land will bury Gog and those with him during the 7 months between the Day of God's Wrath and the return of Yeshua, the Messiah ben David (Eze. 39:12,13). Those months will be Tishri, Cheshvan, Kislev, Teveth, Shevat, Adar and Adar II in a Hebrew Leap Year. I think Yeshua will officially take office on Earth on the same day as the other Hebrew kings, on Nisan 1, the first day of the Hebrew Regnal Year. He will take office as Lord of lords and King of kings in Heaven on the preceding Day of God's Wrath.

Rev. 11:15-19 says of that Feast of Trumpets, "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders (12 patriarchs and 12 apostles), which sat before God on their seats (thrones), fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast (at the First Advent), and art to come (at the Second Advent); because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and THY WRATH IS COME, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail." This is the world-wide earthquake of Eze. 38:20 and Rev. 16:16-21.

Rev. 16:16-19 says, "And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great EARTHQUAKE, such as WAS NOT SINCE MEN WERE UPON THE EARTH (this rules out the beginning of the Tribulation) and so great. And the great city (Jerusalem) was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath".

This is the same day that is called the time of Jacob's trouble. Dan. 12:1 says, "And at that time (when the False Prophet is deposed, Dan. 11:45) shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as NEVER WAS SINCE THERE WAS A NATION even to that same time: and at that time thy people (the Israelites) shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book."

Jer 30:7 says, "Alas! for that day is great, so that NONE IS LIKE IT: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it."

> > another event PRECEDING the Great Tribulation is the Battle of Gog and Magog. This event is outlined in Ezekial 38:18- 22 (which he quoted; emphasis is mine)

After reading Eze. 38:18-23, I can't see how anyone could think this would happen "preceding the Great Tribulation". It is very obvious to me that it is talking about the great and terrible Day of the Lord that ends the shortened Great Tribulation, the last half of the 70th week of Daniel. How can there be any other time between now and then when a worldwide earthquake will strike this planet? It is is the time when the asteroid as big as a mountain hits the Mediterranean Sea.

Eze. 38:18- 22 says, "at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that MY FURY SHALL COME UP IN MY FACE. For in my jealousy and in THE FIRE OF MY WRATH have I spoken, Surely in that day (the Day of God's Wrath) there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea (the Mediterranean), and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence (lit., face, i.e., when the Sign of the Son of Man is seen in the sky, Luke 17:24), and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes (i.e., the Sign of the Son of Man will be seen) of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD."

Rev. 6:13-17 says of that day, "the stars of heaven (i.e., burning pieces of the asteroid) fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from THE FACE of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For THE GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH IS COME; and who shall be able to stand?"

Rev. 8:6-9 tells us about the Feast of Trumpets that ends the Great Tribulation, It says, "the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire (an asteroid) was cast into the sea (the Mediterranean): and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died."

After some time has gone by, Rev. 16:3 will come true. It says, "And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it (the Mediterranean) became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea." Shalom and agape
