Comet mistaken for plane in fiery plunge
By James Ihaka, January 19, 2007
Carter Observatory senior astronomer Brian Carter said the comet was the brightest in more than 40 years. Nasa astronomer Tony Phillips said the comet was 100 times brighter than Halley's Comet when it appeared in 1986.
A way to soothe the Middle East
H. D. S. GREENWAY, January 30, 2007
DAVOS, Switzerland - IT WAS an electric moment in this mountain town last week when the young Hashemite king, Abdullah II of Jordan, stood in front of the World Economic Forum and warned of a conflagration that could spread "from Beirut to Bombay" -- pitting Shi'ite against Sunni, Persians against Arabs with untold consequences for all.
The king saw three potential civil wars on the boil, involving the Palestinians, the Lebanese, and the Iraqis. The number one issue that could soothe the region would be the swift creation of a Palestinian state.
"The continued denial of Palestinian rights is a fire starter," he said.
Shalom, Marylin! Thank you for your detailed response to the thesis set forth by the 'expert' in Texas. Last night I listened to a recording of a sermon given during the 'holidays' by a Messianic Jewish Rabbi, Jonathan Cahn, from New Jersey. Rabbi Cahn is
an astute historian, and, while not pinning down an actual date, also gives evidence that a birth year of 2 or 3 BC is unlikely.
The point of my correspondence was the '2007' significance set forth by another writer who showed some clear reasoning in calculating timelines PRIOR to Messiah's Birth, but then used '0' as the year of His Birth to arrive at a 2007 answer for a completion of a new period of events. If even the most exteme position (that of the gentleman from Texas) is accepted, then we have already passed the 2007 year period by 2-3 years. Experts as yourself and Rabbi Cahn would add an additional 2-3 years to this timeline, 'backing up' the '2007' thesis set forth by Pastor Riley to the year 2001-2002.
According to his thesis and your date of the Birth of Messiah, we have already passed the year that marked the end of the 'days of Noah' by 5 or 6 years. Your
simple response to his (Pastor Riley's) thesis implied that you were in agreement with his conclusion that the year 2008 would begin a new period of history since 2007 years had elapsed since the Birth of Messiah.
Based on Pastor Riley's math and your birth date calculation, what is your understanding of all this?
May G-d Bless you and Love you so much!!! In His Unfailing Love, His servant
Shalom: Could 2008 begin a new period of history? Of course, and it doesn't depend on whether "2007 years had elapsed since the Birth of Messiah".
The number 8 means new beginning, and Sept. 13, 2007, will be Tishri 1, 5768. God works in sevens. Lev. 26:27,28 says, "And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins." Seven times would be 7 years, because a time, times, and half a time is 1260 days in Rev. 12:6,14.
Knowing that a "time" represents a year helps us understand Daniel. In 7:25,26, he said, "And he (the False Prophet of Rev. 13:11-18) shall speak great words against the most High (YHWH the most High, the Redeemer, Isa. 44:6), and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time (3.5 years, ending on Tishri 1 in a Jewish Leap Year). But the judgment (the Judgment Seat of Christ) shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion (on the Day of God's Wrath), to consume and to destroy it unto the end" (of the 7 months of Eze. 39:12,13, which ends with the return of Yahshua/Jesus on Nisan 1, the first day of the Regnal Year).
Therefore, I think Dan. 9:27 refers to the last seven-year period before the Millennium begins on the Day of God's Wrath. Just as Solomon purged his kingdom when he first took office, the Lord will purge his kingdom on the first day he begins his 1000-year reign.
Rev 11:15-18 speaks of the Day of God's Wrath being the beginning of Christ's reign. It says, "And the seventh angel sounded (i.e., it is the Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1; Joel 1:15; 2:1-3); and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art (at the beginning of the Millennium), and wast (at the First Advent), and art to come (at the Second Advent, which is still 7 months future, Eze. 39:12,13); because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth." All saints are in Heaven receiving their rewards when the wrath of God falls on the unbelievers left on the Earth.
There are two Raptures, the Pre-Trib Rapture and the Pre-Wrath Rapture. The latter takes place on the Day of God's Wrath (Rev. 6:17), but before the wrath of God hits Earth (Rev. 8). We see the Tribulation saints in Heaven in Rev. 7.
We call the 70th week of Daniel the Tribulation. Dan. 9:27 says, "And he (the False Prophet) shall confirm (strengthen) the covenant (probably the peace treaty) with many (the UN?) for one week (of years): and in the midst of the week (i.e., after 1260 days) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations (idols) he shall make it (the temple) desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate (or desolator)."
The Tribulation is obviously the last part of "the ends of the ages", because the Millennium begins with the Day of God's Wrath, and that is the end of the shortened Great Tribulation. I Cor. 10:11 (LITV) says, "And all these things happened to those as examples, and it was written for our warning, on whom the ends of the ages have come." Dan. 9:27 tells us about the end of the Age of the Jews. It and the end of the age of the Gentiles seems to run concurrently with the end of the Age of the Church.
That makes sense to me for there is now one body of Christ. Rom. 12:5 says, "So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." 1 Cor. 12:13 says, "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." 1Co 12:20 says, "But now are they many members, yet but one body."
Even though I understand much about the Tribulation, I do not know how many years prior to the Tribulation are part of the time of the end. Since Israel wandered in the desert 40 years before entering the promised land, it seems possible that it could be the 40 years prior to the Tribulation. These 40 years could have started when Israel, the fig tree (Joel 1:6,7) grew leaves (Gaza, Golan Heights, Sinai, and West Bank) in the Six-Day War of 1967 (Mt. 24:32-34). Adding 40 years to 1967 brings us to 2007. If crossing the Jordan into the Promised Land prefigured the Rapture, it could happen in 2007, making 2008 a new beginning, the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel.
That doesn't seem far-fetched to me, because the weeks of years in Daniel 9 stopped being consecutive after 69 weeks. The 70th is a new beginning of those weeks of years. It is "to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."
The most Holy is Yahshua/Jesus Christ. Isa. 44:6 says, "Thus saith the LORD (YHWH) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD (YHWH) of hosts; I am the first (YHWH King of Israel), and I am the last (YHWH of hosts, his redeemer); and beside me there is no God." It is as II Cor. 5:19 says, "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself." No wonder Jesus said, "I and my father are one" (John 10:30).
It seems to me that if the Rapture were take place on Pentecost, the shortened Tribulation would end on Trumpets 6 years later. Agape
Incoming e-mail, Re: Nuclear
I trust you and Ed are keeping well. Re your pro and con below:
2007 - A Year of Decision in the Middle East that will affect the World - PART 1
I go by what I find in the Bible. Is there any indication that a nuclear holocaust will take place at all?
The verse in Zechariah 14:
Do you think this plague would refer to nuclear? sounds like what happens when a nuclear bomb would hit ie.......their flesh consumes away while they stand on their feet......
Zec 14:12 - And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
Thanks. I suppose that could be the result of atomic installations being set off by the worldwide earthquake when the two asteroid pieces of Rev. 8:8,10 impact Earth, the mountain sized one in the Mediterranean Sea, the "aster" called Wormwood at Babylon.
Incoming e-mail, Re: Preparation Day
It is a historical fact that Friday was called the day of preparation by the Jews since the Sabbath was a day of rest. Only John's gospel makes use of the phrase ''preparation of the Passover''.
The 14th of Nisan is the day the lamb was slain, or ''prepared''. The lamb was eaten on the 15th starting at night or first portion of the 15th. Nisan 15 is a High Day Sabbath. Nisan 14 is not a High Day Sabbath. No work could be done on a High Day Sabbath......but the work of killing and preparing the lamb was done on the 14th which was real work!
The normal use of the phrase ''preparation day'' is to refer to Friday. Notice John says ''for that sabbath (meaning weekly sabbath) was (ALSO!) and High Day". This means that the weekly Sabbath was the same day as the 15th of Nisan, a High Day of Unleavened Bread. Nisan 14 was on Friday and was the preparation day for the weekly Sabbath and ALSO the preparation of the passover lamb by the killing of it.
Also notice carefully that the text does NOT say ''for that Day was a High Day''......but says ''for that Sabbath was a High Day''. It is therefore identifying that weekly Sabbath as Also being the High Sabbath Day.
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
This verse is speaking of the Same Day in which Jesus was put on the cross......the 14th of Nisan Friday. The preparation of the passover is like saying a preparation of a meal. The Jews went out and prepared the lamb by slaying it. This was done on the 14th of Nisan. Nisan 13 has no meaning relative to any feast days.
There is NO Command in any texts in the scriptures that say that Rest was to be done on the 14th of Nisan. So the whole argument about Jesus being crucified on the 13th of Nisan because Nisan 14 was a day of rest is simple not true. See Leviticus 23. Nisan 14 was not a day of rest since the passover lamb was slain and prepared on that day.
Here are the verses in the gospels using the word preparation:
Mt 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
Mr 15:42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, (NOTE: this is a clear reference to the weekly Sabbath)
Lu 23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
Joh 19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, * (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
Joh 19:42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
> > It is a historical fact that Friday was called the day of preparation by the Jews since the Sabbath was a day of rest. Only John's gospel makes use of the phrase ''preparation of the Passover''.
All feast days were holy convocations upon which no work could be done. Lev 23:2-7 says, "Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Lev 23:37 says, "These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations".
The lambs were killed at the Temple between 3 and 6 PM on Nisan 13, roasted and eaten before MIDNIGHT on Passover, Nisan 14. That was 6 hours after Nisan 14 began at 6 PM. There is only one midnight belonging to Nisan 14. Lev. 23:5 says, "In the FOURTEENTH DAY of the first month at even (sunset of Nisan 13 and beginning of Nisan 14) is the LORD'S passover." Exodus 11:4,5 says, "And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About MIDNIGHT will I go out into the midst of Egypt: And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die." The blood had to be on the door frames before midnight. The lambs were eaten before midnight or the firstborn of the Hebrews would have died. Nisan 15 is not Passover. It is the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
How can people read these scriptures without realizing that Jesus died on the Preparation of the Passover? To me it's clear.
John is Scripture. It tells the truth. We have to pay attention to it. John 19:14-16 says, "And IT WAS THE PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King! But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away."
This was Thursday, the regular day when the Sanhedrin met. John 18:28 says, "Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and THEY THEMSELVES WENT NOT INTO THE JUDGMENT HALL, LEST THEY SHOULD BE DEFILED; BUT THAT THEY MIGHT EAT THE PASSOVER."
John 19:31 says, "The Jews therefore, because IT WAS THE PREPARATION, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day [Passover] was an high day [an annual sabbath],) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."
John 19:42 says, "There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' PREPARATION DAY; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand."
Mark 14:1,2 says, "After two days (Wednesday and Thursday) was the feast of the passover (Friday), and of unleavened bread (Saturday): and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. But they said, NOT ON THE FEAST DAY, lest there be an uproar of the people."
Mark 15:42,43,46 says, "And now when the even (3-6 PM) was come, because IT WAS THE PREPARATION, THAT IS, THE DAY BEFORE THE SABBATH (all feasts were sabbaths of rest), Joseph of Arimathaea...laid him in a sepulchre."
Mt. 27:62-65 says, "Now THE NEXT DAY, THAT FOLLOWED THE DAY OF THE PREPARATION, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can."
Luke 23:52-54 says, "This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And THAT DAY WAS THE PREPARATION, and the sabbath drew on. "
In the Talmud, Sanhedrin, Folio 43a, Babylonian Tractate, it says, "ON THE EVE OF PESAH THEY HUNG JESHU [the Nazarene]...They found naught in his favour. And THEY HUNG HIM ON THE EVE OF PESAH ." Agape
Incoming e-mail, Re: Rapture
And the ten horns you saw (i.e., AT THE TIME OF THE RAPTURE) are TEN KINGS WHO HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A KINGDOM, but will (i.e., after the Rapture) receive authority as kings one hour with the beast (i.e., sometime during the Great Tribulation).
You write well about the scripture, but how does it come into your mind to inject Rapture at certain points in scripture. As you did above. Show me your magistarium (so to speak) evidence giving you purpose to write as above.
Speaking of Jesus and those that are with him at that time, Rev. 17:14 says, "he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and THEY THAT ARE (present tense) WITH HIM ARE CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL." To me, that shows that the Rapture has taken place. At the time of the Rapture, five of the 7 kings have fallen, and one is in power, the leader of Ecclesiastical Rome. At the time of the Rapture, the 10 kings, probably that will preside over the 10 regions this world has been divided into during the Tribulation, "have received no kingdom as yet" (Rev. 17:12).
The time is Pre-Trib, because at the beginning of the Tribulation in Rev. 13:1, all ten horns have "crowns."
Remember the man that was cast out of the marriage supper, because he did not have on a wedding garment? It ends with, "many are called, but few are chosen" (Mt. 22:14), yet those WITH Christ in Rev. 17 are "called, and chosen, and faithful."
The wise virgins of Mt. 25 are called, and chosen, and faithful, for they go with the Bridegroom when he comes. Why? they have enough oil of the Holy Spirit. That means that they have accepted Christ as their Saviour and confessed any sins committed since that time to bring all their sins under the blood of Christ (I John 1:9). Therefore, they are with Christ right after the Rapture takes place. Mt. 25:10 says, "the bridegroom came; and they that were READY went with him to the marriage: AND THE DOOR WAS SHUT."
We find the door of Heaven open in Rev. 3:8 and 4:1. Rev. 3:8-11 says, "I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an OPEN DOOR, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name....Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation (the Tribulation), which shall (after the Pre-Trib Rapture) come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly (at the Rapture): hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown." Rev. 4:1 says, "I looked, and, behold, a DOOR was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, COME UP HITHER, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter" (after the Pre-Trib Rapture).
How I understand certain things in The Revelation of Jesus Christ
The miracle play, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" is written from the VIEWPOINT of the Rapture. In Rev. 1:3, Jesus said, "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for THE TIME IS AT HAND." It is the Pre-Trib Rapture that is at hand. Those that take part in it are the blessed ones. It is as if Jesus stood on the pinnacle of the Rapture and looked both backward and forward to tell us what was going to happen before and after the Rapture. The time is at hand in both the first and last chapters. Rev 22:10 says, "Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for THE TIME IS AT HAND." Jesus signs off with "Surely I come quickly" (22:20). He comes quickly at the Rapture. At the Second Advent he comes more slowly, because every eye will see him.
In Rev. 1:19, he told John to "Write the things which thou hast seen (before the Rapture), and THE THINGS WHICH ARE (present tense, i.e., at the time of the Rapture), and the things which shall be hereafter" (after the Rapture).
John immediately started to write Jesus' messages to the churches when the Rapture is at hand. Those churches were the things that John had seen, but Jesus assessed them when the Rapture is at hand. To the church of Thyatira, Jesus says, "And I gave her (in the past, before the Rapture) space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will (in the future, after the Rapture) cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into GREAT TRIBULATION, except they repent of their deeds." (2:21,22)."
In 3:10-12, Jesus says, "Because thou hast kept (in the past) the word of my patience, I also will (in the future) keep thee from the hour of temptation (the Tribulation), which shall (after the Rapture) come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly (present tense, i.e., at the Rapture): hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I (after the Rapture) make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name."
In Rev. 4, John wrote about "the things which are" at the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture. That is when the door is open in Heaven (Rev. 3:8 and 4:1). That is when Jesus says, "COME UP HITHER." At the time of the Rapture, Jesus also says, "I will shew thee things which must be HEREAFTER" (after the Rapture). Immediately after the Rapture, John, the other 11 apostles, and the 12 patriarchs of Israel are seated on 24 thrones that are in Heaven.
There are parenthetic portions in the book of Revelation. For example, look between the sixth and seventh seals, trumpets and vials. There are also other parenthetic portions. In each, we have to look carefully for match marks to indicate the setting for that passage. Look at the first part of chapter 11. It starts out at the time of the Rapture, and runs until 3.5 days past Mid-Trib in verse 13. The rest of the chapter runs on to the Day of God's wrath. On that day, which is also called the Day of the Lord, all the saints are in Heaven receiving their rewards while the unbelievers left on Earth receive the wrath of God. That shows that the Pre-Wrath Rapture has also taken place by that time.
Rev. 12:7-17 takes place during the last half of the Tribulation. Then Rev. 13 starts out at the beginning of the Tribulation again.
Chapter 16 tells us about the seven vials of God's wrath. Then chapter 17 starts back at the beginning of the Tribulation again. Watch the tense of the verbs in verse 8. It says, "The beast (i.e Satan) that thou sawest WAS (in Judas Iscariot, the 1st son of perdition), and IS not (present tense, i.e., is not in man at the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture); and SHALL (sometime after the Rapture) ascend out of the bottomless pit (Mid-Trib), and go into perdition (the False Prophet, the 2nd son of perdition): and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was (in Judas Iscariot), and is not (in man at the time of the Rapture, and yet is" (exists).
Rev. 12:7-9 helps us understand the above. It says, "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and SATAN, which deceiveth the whole world: he WAS CAST OUT INTO THE EARTH, and his angels were cast out with him." Satan was cast into the Earth Mid-Trib. He goes into the bottomless pit, and comes back up out of the bottomless pit Mid-Trib and enters into the False Prophet.
Rev. 17:10,11 says, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen (past tense), and one is (at the time of the Rapture), and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he (Satan) is the eighth (the tail of the great red dragon), and is of the seven (i.e., he influences them), and goeth into perdition" (actually enters into the son of perdition, the False Prophet). The seven world empires represented by the seven kings are: Babel I, Babylon II, Media-Persia, Greece, Imperial Rome, Ecclesiastical Rome, and Babylon III.
Isa 9:15 says, "The ancient and honourable (i.e., the 1st beast of Rev. 13), he is the head (the 6th head of the great red dragon); and the prophet that teacheth lies (the 2nd beast of Rev. 13), he is the tail" (because Satan, the tail of the great red dragon actually enters into him).
Let's look at Rev. 17:12-18, paying attention to the tense of the verbs. It says, "And the ten horns which thou sawest ARE (i.e., at the time of the Rapture) ten kings, which have received NO KINGDOM AS YET; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and SHALL (after the Rapture) give their power and strength unto the beast. These SHALL (in the future) make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb SHALL (in the future) overcome them: for he IS Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that ARE (at the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture, Rev. 4:1) with him are CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, ARE (at the time of the Rapture) peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these SHALL (after the Rapture) hate the whore, and SHALL make her desolate and naked, and SHALL eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest IS (at the time of the Rapture) that great city (Vatican City), which reigneth over the kings of the earth."
Rev. 18:4 says, "And I heard ANOTHER VOICE FROM HEAVEN, SAYING, COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE (similar to Rev. 4:1, but at the second Rapture, the Pre-Wrath Rapture) , that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."
The second Rapture takes place on the Day of God's Wrath, but before his wrath falls on Earth. Rev. 6:17 ends with "the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand." The Rapture of the Tribulation saints takes place in Rev. 7. Verse 14 says, "These are they which came out of GREAT TRIBULATION, and have washed their robes (i.e., confessed their sins, I John 1:9), and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
After the Pre-Wrath Rapture, the wrath of God falls on Earth. Rev. 8:5 says, "And the angel took the censer (symbolizing the asteroid Wormwood of Rev. 8:11), and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake."
Rev. 16:18,19 says, "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great EARTHQUAKE, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city (Jerusalem) was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell (every wall will fall, Eze. 38:20): and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of HIS WRATH."
Rev. 18:21 agrees. It says, "And a mighty angel took up a stone (the asteroid) like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
Obviously, the asteroid splits apart at the Roche Limit. The mountain-sized piece impacts the Mediteranean Sea (Rev. 8:8), wiping out Gog's army that is attacking Israel. The larger "star" wipes out Babylon (Rev. 8:10).
Jer 50:40 agrees. Of Babylon, it says, "As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there". Agape
Re: a Jubilee being 49 years
Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, (Ed) Charlesworth
From the introduction to the translation:
"Although months and seasons are accounted for in the calendar of Jubilees, it was the recurring cycle of seven-day weeks that was used as the basic model for structure larger periods of time. Each period of seven years is referred to as a 'week of years' or simply as a 'week'. Each period of seven weeks of years, i.e. forty-nine years, is designated a jubilee."
Thus the Sabbatic Years and the Jubilee years stayed aligned. The 50th year was also the first year of the next Jubilee cycle.
