I read your book about heaven, and I have some questions and thoughts on the matter, and would appreciate your response.
First of all, Saturn is a gas planet, isn't it? How can it then be a rocky planet? The atmosphere on Saturn is turbulant, with storms and high winds, also, isn't the atmosphere itself (hydrogen, etc) violently opposed to life?
It bothers me also that there is a bigger planet in our solar system; Jupiter. I want heaven to be the largest planet in the solar system. (tee hee)
I guess I am stuck with the belief that heaven is a non-physical reality; another dimension. God is a Spirit... if heaven is a physical reality, how do we reconcile Saturn's turbulence? Would not heaven be peaceful, even now, since God is there?
What do you think of the idea that heaven is non- physical? With Einstein's theory of relativity, the bending of time and all, shouldn't we assume that the world we view with our eyes is not all there is??
I'd appreciate your response, and thank you for listening.
My reply Some scientists say that Saturn is a gas planet. Others think it has a rocky core covered with thick clouds. The Bible indicates that it is a stone, or rock, covered with thick clouds.
In the Septuagint (LXX), the Greek Old Testament used in the first century, Zech. 3:8,9 says, "behold, I bring forth my servant The Branch. For as for the STONE which I have set before the face of Jesus, on the ONE STONE are seven eyes (orbs, circles, rings)." As I understand it, Saturn is where Christ's throne is located. It not only has seven rings, but it is the seventh in the original planetary lineup: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Rahab (now the Asteroid Belt), Jupiter, and Saturn.
Concerning the Rapture, Psalm 40:1-3 (KJV) says, "I WAITED patiently for the LORD; and he inclined (bent down) unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up (the Rapture) also out of an horrible pit (as Jeremiah was taken up out of a pit), out of the miry clay (our bodies of clay), and set my feet upon A ROCK (Heaven), and established by goings. And the hath put a new song (sung after the Rapture in Revelation 5:9) in my mouth, even praise unto our God: MANY SHALL SEE IT, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."
In the LXX, Job 38:37,38 says, "(Who) is he that numbers the clouds in wisdom, and has bowed the heaven...to the earth (viewed from Earth, Heaven has rings)? For it (Heaven) is spread out AS DUSTY EARTH, and I HAVE CEMENTED IT AS ONE HEWN STONE TO ANOTHER." In other words, it seems that both Earth and Heaven were formed by coalescence, and both have soil. Cementing it as one stone to another is probably why the heavenly bodies are spheres. Each particle is as close to the center of gravity as it can get.
Heaven is not only "as dusty earth," it is in our solar system. Psa. 89:36,37 says, "His seed (David's, which is Christ) shall endure for ever, and his throne AS THE SUN before me. It shall be established for ever AS THE MOON, and as a faithful witness (and therefore visible) in heaven." The words "like" and "as" are figurative language. Heaven is not the sun or moon, but as the sun and moon, i.e., in our solar system. In Psa. 78:69, we find that the Lord built his sanctuary (tabernacle) like high palaces (planets), LIKE THE EARTH (a planet)." The Tabernacle had ten curtains with cherubim embroidered on each one. They represented the ten original planets in this solar system.
In Job 36:32; 37:3 and 37:18-22 in the LXX, we find that Heaven is visible (it is the outermost of the planets plainly visible to the naked eye) and covered with golden clouds: "He has hidden the light in his hands, and given charge concerning it to the interposing CLOUD...His dominion is under the whole heaven, and HIS LIGHT IS AT THE EXTREMITIES OF THE EARTH (his light reaches Earth).
"Wilt thou establish with him foundations for the ancient heavens?...But THE LIGHT IS NOT VISIBLE TO ALL (then it is visible to some); IT SHINES AFAR OFF IN THE HEAVENS, as that which is from him in the clouds. From the north (i.e., upward) come the CLOUDS SHINING LIKE GOLD (i.e., visible): in these great are the glory and honour of the Almighty." In Rev. 1:8, Jesus said that he is "the Almighty."
As for the atmosphere, we are to be "changed" (I Cor. 15:51). Besides, no one yet knows what the lowest layers are like. The same goes for the turbulence of the outer layer of clouds.
As for Heaven being non-physical, I have to go along with the Bible. Jesus said that he was going to prepare a place for us. This is a physical place. Over and over, it is referred to as a mountain or rock. It has a river and trees (Rev. 22:1,2). Why wouldn't it be a physical place?
Incoming Email I think it is really amazing that you have answered at this particular time. I have been thinking about you all day long!!!
You are the second one this week who said they were believing that the 20th could be the day. I am NOT a biblical scholar, though I would love to have the knowledge that you have - but - I do look at the signs of our times.
Have you looked into the Y2K problem AKA the millennial bug? There seems to be a great deal of apprehension regarding what the year 2000 is going to do to the information age. I read in "Wired", a magazine for computer geeks about a programmer hired by the govt. to fix this problem, who has bought several acres, surrounded them with barbed wire, and has turned into a survivalist!
If you add our illustrious President into the mix, as well as the imploding economies in the Far East and Russia......1999 could be a terrifying year!
So, why did I go through this scenario? Imagine the chaos around the world if you add the Rapture into the equation? Imagine how easily it will be for a man who has the solutions for these huge problems to assume world wide support as a "savior" for mankind. This scenario seems like an ideal situation for an ANTICHRIST to appear.
I truly believe that we are living in the last days and that we should look up and be watchful, for our redemption draweth near.
What do you think of this scenario? Your brother in Christ
My reply Hi: > Have you looked into the Y2K problem AKA the millennial bug?
Yes, and it is going to cause chaos. It will probably have something to do with throwing all nations into one pot.
> This scenario seems like an ideal situation for an ANTICHRIST to appear
I agree. The world does not have any really strong leader at present. Things have gotten into such a mess that it seems that no one knows how to straighten things out. In walks Satan's man. He will have solutions that will sound great to the unbeliever. However, it is Satan's trap, and many will be caught in it.
> I truly believe that we are living in the last days and that we should look up
> and be watchful, for our redemption draweth near.
So do I. How this could not be the last days is harder to believe than that it is the last days. Everything is in place. The Rapture has to be soon for the believers are the salt (because the Holy Spirit indwells them) that is restraining the appearance of Satan's man. When they are gone, the wicked one can make himself known on the world scene.
Incoming Email My family and I were very ready on Pentecost. I had counselled freinds, neighbors, coworkers and family members to be ready. I referred many to your website, and now that Pentecost has come and gone, I'd like to make a few comments.
The ways of the Lord are indeed mysterious, and his compassion is beyond measure. Without exception, all the people I know who took your warning seriously are far better off spiritually today than they were just weeks, even days, ago. The 'heads up' will pay off in terms of general body readiness that we can even begin to imagine. This reveals more about the Lord's mercy than about your scholarship.
I commend you for going out on a limb in the name of Truth. I am deeply concerned about the well-being of those who railed against you as a date-setter and a false prophet. They have much to fear, I would imagine. We should continue to maintain our readiness, whether we must wait yet weeks, months, or even years. The Lord will prosper us, and will continue his cleansing (Holy Chorox) routine on us if we remain yeilded and ready. Amen!
I have one question with regard to a critical aspect of your Pentecost calculations, and that is with regard to the example of Jesus and the Fig Tree. You placed the 4 years 'wait' immediately after the Rapture, before Daniel's 70th week commences. Is there any reason why the Rapture wouldn't also be delayed pending the outcome of our Lord's critical assessment? It seems reasonable to assume that He wouldn't be done with us until He is absolutely ready to begin dealing with nation Israel. Love in Christ
My replyBesides the parable of the barren fig tree in Lu. 13:6-9, there seems to be a gap between the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation portrayed in the last book of the Bible. I think The Revelation of Jesus Christ is written as if the Rapture is at hand. It is "at hand" in both the first chapter and the last chapter (1:3; 22:10). Jesus signs off saying, "Surely I come quickly." He comes quickly at the Rapture (2:5).
In 17:12, there are "ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast." At the time of the Rapture, these ten kings are not yet in power with the beast. Yet, in Rev. 13:1, as the Tribulation begins, all ten are crowned and in power with the beast out of the sea (nations).
Since sacrificing at the temple in Jerusalem starts at the beginning of the Tribulation, this gap between the Rapture and Tribulation seems to be when the temple is to be built. Right now, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. As soon as we are gone seems a perfect time for the literal temple to be constructed. Israel seems to be about ready now. It wouldn't take much to get the project started. Something is restraining them. Is it the same thing that is restraining the coming to power of the wicked one, the Holy Spirit that resides in the Church? Will he allow two temples dedicated to Him on Earth at the same time? It seems more likely that when the one is taken up, the other will be built.
> Is there any reason why the Rapture wouldn't
> also be delayed pending the outcome of our Lord's critical assessment?
I can't be sure. But, whatever the reason, we can't afford not to take advantage of the time we have left. There are people who need to accept Christ. There are people who need to repent, change their minds, and turn their lives around. We all need to make sure we are right with God. Maybe the Rapture is delayed to give people one last chance to repent. Repenting is emphasized by the Jews during this month of Elul, and things that happen to Israel are for examples to the Church (I Cor. 10:11).
Revelation is written as if the Rapture is "at hand." In his message to the church of Thyatira, Jesus says, "I gave her SPACE TO REPENT of her fornication; and she repented not" (Rev. 2:21). I don't know how long this space to repent is, but if the beginning of the Tribulation is delayed four time periods while the Lord looks for ripe fruit on the fig tree (Israel), it seems possible that the Rapture could be delayed four time periods also. Are these four Jewish months, Sivan, Tamuz, Av and Elul, the "space to repent"? We should know soon.
The Church has had more than one wake-up call already. One of these days not too far distant, the Bride will hear "Come up hither." We must make sure we are in that group. There is nothing here that can compare with what we stand to gain by doing things God's way.
Incoming Email Re: A word of thanks
Just wanted to send you a note of encouragement. While I share your disappointment in not being in heaven yet, I, like you, am not discouraged. The Lord will be here for us in His time. Your Web site and books have been a tremendous "wake up" call to me and those believers around me. We are well aware of the lateness of the hour and remain ready and continue to pray always that we might be accounted worthy to escape the things which must come to pass.
In the parable of the 10 virgins, the bridegroom was delayed. This is what caused the virgins to fall asleep. Could be that your schedule is correct, but the Bridegroom has gotten delayed? Maybe now is when we must be extra diligent to ensure that when we hear the shout that He is on His way, we have extra oil to trim our lamps.
All of the virgins knew when the bridegroom was expected and were prepared to meet him upon his arrival. It was only the wise virgins who allowed for the possibility of delay and brought extra oil. There may be a parallel here.
Anyway, regardless of when He comes, I will continue to prepare myself, and continue to look up with expectancy. I look forward to meeting you in Heaven. One look around and you know it can't be much longer. In His name
My reply Thanks. You said it. All I can do is agree with you. We should remember to carry plenty of oil of the Holy Spirit in our vessels at all times.
Incoming Email Re: Thank You
I am a first time responder to your website, but certainly this is not my first visit. As I am sure many other people have already contacted you to express their support and appreciation; I too feel compelled to say a few words.
I pray that the great and mighty Comforter will bless you and give you peace in responding to any negative criticism that you will no doubt receive. I commend you for being courageous enough to present the facts as you discerned them, solely for the purpose of helping other individuals become aware of the truth of our Lord's imminent return. You have acted in love and faith and truth... just as our heavenly Father would want you to do.
The fact that May 31 came and went without the occurrence of the rapture is inconsequential to me. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening my eyes and increasing my understanding of God's divine plan for us. It is obvious that your step of faith has brought many closer to the Lord, and in fact, you have brought about the salvation of many non-believers. All of your work is for the glory of God, not your personal gain. Please continue in your efforts to study His Word and reach others for Christ.
God bless you... you have contributed more to my spiritual growth in the last several months than you can possibly imagine. I now have a hunger to understand the Word like never before.
Well done good and faithful servant! In anticipation of His return
My reply Thanks for your kind words.
Incoming Email Don't be discouraged. You touched many peoples lives including mine and my families. You opened conversation about God with my children. I hadn't had the courage to speak to friends and family about Jesus and you gave me that courage. Thank you. He is coming soon.
My reply Thanks. Don't worry, I won't be discouraged. I am doing my best to do exactly what I think the Lord wants me to do, no matter what else goes on around me.
Incoming Email AMEN FOR THE RAPTURE ON THE 20th !!!! I will eagerly enjoy meeting you in Paradise !!!
How is Ed ? I have been praying for him almost as much as I have been praying for you. If you have specific needs, let me know. I would be glad to Stand in the Gap for you. YOur Brother in Christ
My reply Thanks. Ed is recovering slowly but surely. We went to Taco Bell for lunch today. He said it felt good to just get out a bit. He got himself out of both the sofa and car for the first time too. That means he has more strength in his legs now. He was even surprised at how easily he got up.
Now that I don't have to help pull Ed up, pray that my back will heal. Before we left for lunch, I said that I knew the chiropractor said not to use the stretchy belt, but I was inclined to use it anyway. At that, our son Dave tried to twist me like the chiropractor did. I think it worked. I think my back went back in place, but it is really sore. I have suffered with it ever since I tried to help Ed stand up at the hospital.
Thanks for all your prayers. God bless you.
Incoming Email I just want to let you know that I have been blessed by your website, and I realize that this has been a wake-up call - I now feel refreshed and I anticipate His coming very soon. Most of my family in India is not yet saved, so I'm glad we have a little more time.
My 9 year old son read your webpage on Saturday, and it really touched him, and he is really excited about the Lord now
Please do not get discouraged, because a lot of good has come out of all this. It is very important that we should still watch, and not become complacent, because He will come at an hour we do not expect. Regards
My reply Thanks for your kindness. We do have some time, but it may not be very much. I pray that your family in India will accept Christ too. I am not discouraged.
The next most likely date seems to be the Eve of the Feast of Trumpets, Sept. 20, 1998. I think Eve was taken out of the body of Adam on the Eve of Trumpets. Then this "kosmos" began to operate on the Jewish New Year, The Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1. Since Christ is the second Adam, this seems an appropriate time. We will soon know.
Incoming Email I read your book The End of The Age.
It is an awesome book. I certainly wished that the May 31st date would have come to pass, but since it didn't we just have to hold onto our faith in Christ and keep doing his will. HE WILL COME!!!!! I don't know when but he will.
My question is this. I have heard before that the calenders that man uses are very inaccurate. I've heard that we could be off by as much as several years from the true date that probably only God knows. So what do you think? Are our Earthly calenders accurate? If we are off as far as accuracy on the calenders then we could never ever predict dates. What do you think? Your Brother in Christ
My reply About calendars. In the beginning, God set the whole thing in motion. The sun and moon were for "signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years" (Gen. 1:14). No matter how man messed up getting the calendars right, he eventually had to adjust them to match up with the sun. Therefore, our Gregorian solar calendar and the Jewish lunar-solar calendar today are brought into sync by the sun. I think they can be relied on in general. We now know with precision how long the year should be and have had a long time to get our calendar adjusted to it. The Jewish calendar is pretty well aligned with ours over a 19-year cycle. It only differs by one or two days in a century. If we are off by one or two days, that is not anything to worry about.
A mistake was made in where to set BC 1 and 1 AD, but that did not change the number of years that had elapsed. We do have to remember that there is no zero year in doing calculations involving both BC and AD years. It is easy to be off by one year if we forget that. Since the Jewish calendar years only are counted forward, there are times that it is easier to keep calculations straight using the Jewish calendar and then convert to ours.
Since God knows all things ahead of time, he knew how our calendars would be set in the last days. This was revealed to me when I found out that the Crucifixion and Second Advent were both on our April 6, in spite of the ten days that had to be dropped from our calendar to bring it into sync with the sun, and in spite of those two events being on different days on the Jewish calendar. I think God has these two calendars aligned as he wants them at this particular time.
Incoming Email ...I am encouraged by your deep love for Christ and the seriousness in which you approach the scriptures.
I was wondering what biblical training you have, and whether you read Hebrew and/or Greek. Your personal testimony didn't go into that....Thank you for publishing your work. In Christ
My reply Thanks for your kind words.
As for formal Biblical training, I have none. I don't know but a smattering of Hebrew and Greek. I use concordances and lexicons. Since my two years of Latin did not result in my being able to sit down and read my Latin Bible all the way through, I didn't think I had the time to learn another language first.
What I have done is read, read, read, first, the Bible (KJV), so I could not be misled by someone else's interpretation, then almost every book that looked interesting from BIOLA's library. That took seven years. After that, I read just about every different version of the Bible I could find. I asked the Lord to help me understand. Along the way, I listened to tapes and went to hear Bob Thieme, Dr. Whiting and Dr. Charles Feinburg, etc. I've done my best to understand the scriptures for more than 38 years.
I have found out more than I knew was there. Our God has packed so much into that one small book, the Bible, that I have come to realize that I will never know it all. This lifetime is not enought time to fathom all its depths. The search is exciting, the knowledge rewarding, and my love for the Lord tremendous. To live at this particular time is a blessing I am so thankful for. I'm running the race to win the "prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Incoming Email There has veen a few countdowns this summer and the final one is now counting to Sept. 20. Many of us have been maybe too eager to accept new dates after pentecost-98 proved to be not the moment. Maybe it is that just about nobody can boast " I knew the right time " + we are tested.
Let us however bear in mind what Jesus said concerning His return. -"It will be as in the days of Noah" - Is that not be pointing to this year 5758/1998? If we also notice that 1948 meant "the beginning of the birthpangs" and that there is a proper meaning to the years of mid tribulation and that after the end of this age there is no more alphabets to mean anything (as far as remember correctly)
Has there not been signs in the heavens? Hayakutake / Hale-Bopp etc.? -Is not (Rosh HaShanah ( or the eve) traditionally "the day that no one knows".
In Eddie Chumneys book we find that this feast had also a theme; The opening of gates (notice plural) and rapture (natzal). -Is the Song of Solomon´s (turtledoves and fruit harvest) time indications - according to latests P/C:s - in the autumn. -and also many other things point to 1998, like it being the 6000. year. -Saturn is over there at midnight and as a morning star If we also add what we all can see: the Marc is coming soon, the "´peace´ process" is well on the way, the building of the One wordl gov. is progressing, we know the moment is near.
As I checked P/C:s of May / June there were many interesting points - in 106 the debate Pentecost / Rosh HaShanah was interesting - but one thing is absent - the code crackers are silent. I wonder if Sept.20 is there in the codes? I bet someone will soon find the way to unlock the code so that full sentences can be produced and therefore the message precisely understood ( DNA code or similar).
The knowledge shall increase. May the appointed time be soon!
Incoming Email STILL LOVE YA. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTITUDE. WITH ALL THE BAD, MEAN MAIL YOU GOT, YOU HELD TO CHRIST IN ALL.
BLESS YOU LADY, LOVE YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID AND GAVE OUT. JESUS KNOWS ALL, YOU ARE HELD HIGHLY IN GODS LOVE.
I WOULD COME TO YOU ON MY WHITE CHARGER, AND SCOOP YOU UP AND TAKE YOU TO MY HOUSE, BUT MY WIFE SAYS I MIGHT HURT MYSELF. AT LEAST YOU KNOW THERE ARE MANY WHO LOVE AND RESPECT YOU.
FAITH IS NOT HAVING A PLAN "B"
My reply ...Thanks for your kind words. Nothing can destroy my faith in our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ. So we have to wait awhile, it is for a good reason, and we will be glad in the end.
Is Satan given this time to sift us as wheat? What do you think about I Peter 1:1-13? Can it apply to today? It mentions the trial of our faith for a season. Could that possibly be this summer?
It says, "to the strangers scattered...Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father...To an inheritance...reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation READY TO BE REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME (kairos, set or proper time). Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now FOR A SEASON (oligos, season, short time, of space: a little further), IF NEED BE, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That THE TRIAL OF YOUR FAITH, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory;: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you (the elect): Searching what, or what manner of TIME the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST."
Incoming Email How do you explain 2 thessalonians 2:1-4?
My reply In verse 2, the KJV's "day of Christ" should be Day of the LORD. That is the Millennium. It will not come until there is a departing first. That is the Rapture. Apostasia, translated "falling away" in the KJV, means departing and was so translated in early version of the Bible, such as Tyndale's, Beza's, The Coverdale and The Great Bible. A similar word, apostacion, means divorce. This makes it easier to see that apostasia means departing or separation, as in a divorce.
We are the salt that retards the growth of leaven (as salt does in breadmaking). This is because we have the indwelling Holy Spirit. He restrains the appearance of the wicked one until after we depart in the Rapture.
Luke 21:36 says, "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
