Pro and Con 269
(Matthew 24 and 25 continued from Pro and Con 268)
PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE
In this parable, Jesus gave the clue that showed those that were watching what the Sign of the End of the Age was. He said, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree (Israel, Joel 1:6,7; Hos. 9:10; Ezek 36:8; Jer. 24:5); When his branch (klados, scion for grafting, i.e., modern Israel grafted back into her old rootstock) is yet tender (apalos, young, i.e., no more than 19 years old, as when they came out of Egypt and those 20 and up were counted), AND PUTTETH FORTH LEAVES (which she did when 19 years old in the Six-Day War; Sinai, Gaza Strip, West Bank, Golan Heights), ye know that summer is nigh (the war began June 5; summer began June 21): So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things (Israel back in the land and growing), know that it (the Rapture) is near, even at the doors (there are two Raptures when the door of Heaven opens). Verily I say unto you, This generation (born in 1967) shall not pass (1967 + 40 = 2007), till all these things be fulfilled." This includes both the Pre-Trib and Pre-Wrath Raptures.
All the things up to the end of the age that have been mentioned in Mt. 24 previously, will, I believe, be fulfilled as this age ends and the Millennium begins on the Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1, 5768, Sept. 13, 2007.
THE PRE-TRIB RAPTURE
Mt. 24:36-51 has to do with the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture, when the door to Heaven opens and the Lord says with a voice like a trumpet, "Come up hither" (Rev. 4:1). "But of that DAY and HOUR knoweth (present tense, i.e., on the day Jesus said this) no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. BUT as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of he Son of man be....Two women (religious groups) shall be grinding at the mill; the ONE (Philadelphian wise virgins) SHALL BE TAKEN (in the Pre-Trib Rapture), and the other (Laodicean foolish virgins) left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what HOUR your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house (pastor of the church) had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house (church) to be broken up. Therefore BE YE ALSO READY: for in such an HOUR as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and WISE servant (wise virgin), whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them MEAT IN DUE SEASON?"
"DUE SEASON" gives us a time clue. In De. 11:14, the Lord promised, "I will give you the RAIN of your land in HIS DUE SEASON, the first (former) rain (First Advent, Tishri 1) and the latter rain (Second Advent, Nisan 1), that thou mayest gather in thy corn (grain, i.e., wheat), and thy wine, and thine oil." Since Jerusalem is in Israeli hands, we know that the DUE SEASON approaches. "Therefore BE YE ALSO READY."
Mt. 24:46-51 says, "Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing (giving them 'meat in due season'). Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that EVIL SERVANT (foolish virgin) shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of THAT SERVANT (the foolish one) shall come in a DAY when he (the foolish virgin) looketh not for him, and in an HOUR that he (the foolish virgin) is NOT AWARE OF (i.e., the wise are aware of the DAY AND HOUR), And shall cut him asunder (temporarily cut him off from the Body of Christ), and appoint him his portion (the shortened Tribulation) with the hypocrites (Pharisee types, Mt. 23:29): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Luke 12:46,47 expands on this: "The lord of that SERVANT (the unfaithful and unwise steward) will come in a DAY when he looketh not for him, and at an HOUR when he is NOT AWARE, and will cut him in sunder (cut him off), and will appoint him his portion (the 2300-day shortened Tribulation) with the unbelievers. And that SERVANT, which knew his lord's will, and PREPARED NOT HIMSELF, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes." We must be aware of the possible DAY AND HOUR, and BE READY.
Some people write me and ask why they should confess their sins, Christ has already done it all, they are sinless. I John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." When we accept Christ, all our "old sins" (I Peter 1:9) are wiped off the books. Sins committed after that should be confessed. In the passage above, in Luke 12, we see that we are to prepare ourselves. Just as Peter did, we get dirty feet (i.e., our robes are spotted by the flesh). We have to bring sins committed since we accepted Christ under the blood of Christ (i.e., wash our robes in the blood of Christ, Rev. 7:14). In Rev. 19:7,8, we see that the Bride of Christ has "MADE HERSELF READY. And to her was granted that she shuld be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness (lit., righteousnesses) of saints."
This righteousness includes both the righteousness imputed to us by Christ when we accept him as our Saviour and our righteous acts when we confess our later sins so He can cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness (I John 1:9). Jesus didn't tell five of the churches in Rev. 2 and 3 to repent without a reason. Take notice of which ones do not need to repent, because they already have, Smyrna (myrrh, bitterness, the herb that has to be bruised to bring out its sweetness) and Philadelphia (brotherly love).
In Rev. 2:9,10, Jesus says to Smyrna, "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich [not like the Laodiceans]) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are JEWS, AND ARE NOT, but are THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days (maybe between Ascension Day and Pentecost): be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a CROWN of life."
In Rev. 3:9-11, Jesus says to Philadelphia, "Behold, I will make them of THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN, which say they are JEWS, AND ARE NOT, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy FEET, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience (waiting), I also will keep thee FROM the hour of temptation (peirasmos, trial) which shall come upon ALL THE WORLD, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy CROWN." A crown is only mentioned to these two church groups, and not to those told to repent.
Also notice that to the overcomers, Christ comes "quickly." This is the Pre-Trib Rapture. At the Pre-Wrath Rapture, the Sign of the Son of Man is seen. At the Second Advent, every eye shall see him. These do not qualify as being so quick.
MATTHEW 25 OVERVIEW
From the cutting off and the "weeping and gnashing of teeth" of Mt. 24:51 to the "weeping and gnashing of teeth" of Mt. 25:30, Jesus is talking about what happens at the time of the Pre-Trib Rapture. The Lord gives gifts unto good and faithful servants. This section ends with verse 30: "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness (outside the door of Heaven): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
"THEN (at the Pre-Wrath Rapture, when the Laodicean foolish virgins are cut off and left behind) shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise (the Bride of Christ), and five were foolish (the rest of the Body of Christ). They that were foolish took their lamps, and took NO OIL with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels (i.e., bodies) with their lamps" (Mt. 25:1-4).
All have lighted lamps, i.e., their dormant spirit has been kindled to life, but only the wise have enough annointing oil of the Holy Spirit. Why? they have confessed their sins and are in fellowship with our righteous God.
I John 1:5-10 says, "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. IF we say that we have FELLOWSHIP with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But IF we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another (as the Philadelphians exhibiting brotherly love), and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL sin. IF we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. IF we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. IF we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
Mt. 25:5-10 says, "While the bridegroom (Christ) TARRIED (maybe this year, Pentecost to Pentecost), they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps (all were burning). And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone (lit. going) out (i.e., sputtering for lack of oil)....while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were READY went in with him to THE MARRIAGE (as all in the Ark were married); and the DOOR (Heaven's door) was shut" (as the Lord shut the door in the Ark).
Notice that the "open door" is set before the Philadelphians (Rev. 3:8), and that a closed door is before the Laodiceans (Rev. 3:20). Continuing, Mt. 25:11-13 says, "Afterward (after the Pre-Trib Rapture) came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you (foolish virgins), I know you not." He has just spewed them out of his mouth. "Watch therefore, for ye (foolish virgins) know neither the DAY nor the HOUR wherein the Son of man cometh." They have not yet realized that the NO MAN KNOWS now only applies to them. They are blind Laodiceans, and none is so blind as those that won't see. They have eyes, but don't see. They have ears, but don't hear.
Believers are sons and daughters of God by adoption (Rom. 8:15). Between the two Raptures, ALL believers will be taken to Heaven before the wrath of God falls on Earth. Psa. 45:14-16 says, "The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the VIRGINS (the foolish ones) her companions that FOLLOW HER (in the Pre-Wrath Rapture) shall be brought unto thee. With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace. Instead of thy fathers (OT saints) shall be thy children (the remnant that believes after the second Rapture takes place), whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth (during the Millennium)."
The virgins that follow in the second Rapture seem to not be the Bride of Christ. Luke 12:28-37 says, "O ye of little faith...Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return FROM THE WEDDING (the Marriage of the Lamb takes place the same day, but just before the Pre-Wrath Rapture); that when he cometh and knocketh (to the Laodiceans, Rev. 3:20), they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching...And if he shall come in the second watch (9:00 PM to midnight), or come in the third watch (midnight to 3:00 AM), and find them so, blessed are those servants."
JUDGMENT OF THE NATIONS
After the Second Advent will be the Judgment of the Nations. Here we see another division of the righteous and unrighteous, i.e., the sheep and goats. The righteous live on into the Millennium; the unrighteous, "shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" (Mt. 25:46).
On the first day of the Millennium, Jesus is crowned in Heaven and receives dominion over Earth. Dan. 7:13,14 says, "behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him DOMINION, and glory, and a KINGDOM, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him."
That day is also the day of the Judgment Seat of Christ and the Day of God's Wrath. "And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD" (Ezek. 39:12,13). After the seven months, "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (kosmos, orderly arrangement of things; i.e., from the day when God rested from refreshing the Earth and from creating the animals and Adam)" (Mt. 25:31-34).
Verses 41-45: "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not...Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me."
Mark 13:34-37 says, "the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey (to Heaven), who left his house (church), and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter (the one at the door) to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house (church) cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
Luke 21:34-36 says, "take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day (of the Pre-Trib Rapture) come upon you UNAWARES. For as a snare (trap) shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY to escape ALL these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
The Pre-Trib Rapture is our "escape" and our "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13). Wherefore comfort one another with these words." I Thess. 4:18 says, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Incoming Email MT 24:36-44 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
So how does your doctrine explain away this and NOT be contridictay to this scripture. Jesus' own word said that only the Father knows. Why is it so important for you to know when Christ is coming back? Christ actual words were to be ready WHEN YOU DON'T EXPECT HIM... I think sir that because you expect him on the date he won't come. It is foolish to believe there is a possible way to predict the coming of Christ. And if Christ is coming back this year why haven't' we seen the Anti Christ... (oh wait your not post-trib). Also Christ's told us this so we won't waste our time trying to guess when he would come back ... but rather live for him and know that he could come back at anytime. The disciples though he would come back during their earthly life time. You were wrong last year and this year you seem more convisened. . Don't you know that he could come back even before you finish reading this.... What is the point of your ministry ... are you trying to win people to Christ is that your thrust of your ministry? Are you being the light one the hill? ... or is it to predict when Christ comes back?? I don't think Christ wanted us to sit on our behinds trying to think up when he was coming back. Notice Paul didn't have time to do this ... why should we have time to do this. I think that God is patient and I do believe we have more time because of my own calling in my young life. I believe that we will see a great revival in this country. Do you want it on your head that you mislead people and might have caused be to lose their faith because your date was wrong. Do you want to explain that to God? I know I sure don't. I am sure your a decent Guy. And a decent Christian. I just don't understand why you need to know the exact date when Christ himself told us that no one knew except the Father. Your telling me you know something that Jesus dosen't.
1TH 5:1,2 Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
MK 13:33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
My reply > MT 24:36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven,

The word "knows" is present tense. In that day, no one knew. It does not say that no one will ever know.
> MT 24:37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Noah knew 120 years ahead of time as to the year. He knew 7 days ahead of time as to the day.
> MT 24:39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came

The wicked did not know. The wise knew. Dan. 12:10 says, "none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand."
> MT 24:41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
Two religious groups will be working. One, the wise Philadelphian virgins, shall be taken, the other, the foolish lukewarm Laodicean virgins, shall be left behind.

If the pastor of the church had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his church be broken into. So you also must be ready, or he will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Take a look at verses 50 and 51: "The lord of that (evil) servant shall come in a DAY when he looketh not for him, and in an HOUR that he is NOT AWARE OF. And shall cut him asunder (cut him off), and appoint him his portion (the shortened Tribulation) with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Luke 12:46 adds, "and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." The Lord commanded us to watch. I am watching. Are you? I do not want to be cut off and have to be chastised during the Tribulation (Rev. 3:19).
It is the evil servant that is not aware of the day and hour. Jesus warned the churches. Rev. 3:3 says, "If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee." Therefore, if we do watch we will know what hour he will come upon us.
> Christ actual words were
> to be ready WHEN YOU DON'T EXPECT HIM
Where? In Strong's Concordance, the work "expect" doesn't appear anywhere.
> What is the point of your ministry
To study and write what I have learned about the Bible in many long years of study. If I can help anyone accept Christ, that's wonderful. If I can help anyone get ready for the Rapture, that's wonderful too. We don't want the Lord to tell us something like what, couldn't we watch with him one hour?
One night I awoke with a start, absolutely terrified. My heart was like a little bird trying to get out of my chest. I heard a masculine voice say, "Be still and know that I am God." He must have opened my understanding at that time, for soon I began to be able to figure out things that no one else to my knowledge had ever been able to figure out, things like what are the cherubim and flaming sword of Gen. 3:24.
It was about 20 years before I figured out what took place that night. I was reading the Septuagint, the Greek scriptures used in Jesus' day. Job. 33:15,16 says, "as when a dreadful alarm happens to fall upon men, in slumberings on the bed:) then opens he the understanding of men."
Another time, I saw a rectangle of light on Jer. 50:2. It said to publish and conceal not. In awe, I read it over and over, finally saying in a whisper, "OK, I'll continue to study and write." If these things had happened to you, what would you do?
> I don't think Christ wanted us to sit on our behinds trying to think up when he was coming
> back. Notice Paul didn't have time to do this...why should we have time to do this.
What would you rather do, party? Paul taught exactly what the Lord gave him to teach. He taught before the Bible was completed. We have the complete Word of God. We also live at the end of the age. You have to take all these things into consideration.
> I believe that we will see a great revival in this country.
I hope we do, but the Bible tells me that things are getting worse and worse.
> Do you want it on your head that you mislead people and might have caused be to lose their
> faith because your date was wrong. Do you want to explain that to God? I know I sure don't.
I have always said that I am not a prophet. These things are just what I think. Search the scriptures and see if these things are so.
> I am sure your a decent Guy.
I am not a Guy. I am a 70-year-old woman who has studied the Bible as deep as I can go ever since before 1960...
> I just don't understand why you need to know the exact date when Christ himself told us
> that no one knew except the Father. Your telling me you know something that Jesus dosen't.
I am not saying that I know. I am watching, as Christ commanded us. Jesus knows. He is the Almighty himself (Rev. 1:8). As a man, he did not know, but as God, he knew. He was careful how he phrased that statement. Besides, "knoweth" is present tense. It was true on that day. Jesus did not say that no one would ever know.
> 1TH 5:1,2 Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you
> know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
Finish it and you might understand. It continues, "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren (believers), are NOT in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, AS DO OTHERS; but let us watch and be sober."
> MK 13:33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
Why not go to sleep like many blind Laodiceans? Because the Lord said to "Be alert." The KJV says, "Take ye heed, WATCH AND PRAY: for ye know not when the time is." What Bible version are you using? Where is the word "pray"?
Luke 21:36 says, "WATCH ye therefore, and PRAY always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY to ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
