Incoming Email You may have heard already that there is an ancient Hebrew belief that when a comet passes through Orion it heralds the end of the age. I can't give the documentation on that, but I believe that it was posted at the Five Doves' site a year or so ago.
I've heard that all three of these comets passed through Orion. God bless

My reply Yes, I have heard that about Orion. Interesting that all three of these comets passed through it.
In 66 AD, before the temple was burned in 70 AD, Josephus says, "Thus there was a star resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a COMET, that continued a whole year." Wonder if that comet went through Orion.
The rest if this section is interesting. It goes on to say, "Thus also, before the Jews' rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of Unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus [Nisan,] and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day-time; which light lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskilful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it. At the same festival also, a heifer, as she was led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple. Moreover, the eastern gate of the inner, [court of the temple,] which was of brass, and vastly heavy, and had been with difficulty shut by twenty men, and rested upon a basis armed with iron, and had bolts fastened very deep into the firm floor, which was there made of one entire stone, was seen to be opened of its own accord about the SIXTH HOUR OF THE NIGHT. Now, those that kept watch in the temple came thereupon running to the captain of the temple, and told him of it; who then came up thither, and not without great difficulty was able to shut the gate again. This also appeared to the vulgar to be a very happy prodigy, as if God did thereby open them the gate of happiness. But the men of learning understood it, that the security of their holy house was dissolved of its own accord, and that the gate was opened for the advantage of their enemies. So these publicly declared, that this signal foreshewed the desolation that was coming upon them. Besides these, a few days after that feast, on the one-and-twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armour were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities. Moreover, at that feast which we call PENTECOST as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, 'LET US REMOVE HENCE.' But, what is still more terrible, there was one Jesus, the son of Ananus, a plebeian, and an husbandman, who, four years before the war began, and at a time when the city was in very great peace and prosperity, came to that feast whereon it is our custom for every one to make tabernacles to God in the temple, began on a sudden to cry aloud, 'A voice from the east, a voice from the west, a voice from the four winds, a voice against Jerusalem and the holy house, a voice against the bridegrooms and the brides, and a voice against this whole people!'" (Wars. VI.3.) (emphasis mine).
Very interesting that on Pentecost, the voices said "Let us remove hence," huh?

Marilyn, Maybe someone could tell you about the path of that comet
using one of the computer programs available that reconstruct these
comet cycles back in time. It would be incredibly interesting if it did
pass through Orion since that was the end of their Jewish age in
Jerusalem for another almost 2000 years.

Marilyn, That is interesting. Maybe our "Door" will open near the
halfway point of both the year 1999 and also at midnight which is the
sixth hour of the night, at Pentecost.

Jim Bramlett wrote: Dear friends:
February 23, 1997 was the eventful day when Pastor Dan Bohler, in his office, had an unexpected and unusual encounter with the Lord. It happened suddenly and while performing a menial duty. Bohler said that God's power was so strong that it caused him to go to the floor.
According to Bohler, the Lord revealed to him that there were "two more years to prepare." That two-year period ends next week, February 23, 1999. Prepare what? I am not sure. Prepare our hearts? No doubt. Prepare physically? Not sure.
A year later, in February, 1998, someone reported to Bohler that he had heard a news report that Saddam Hussein had declared that on February 23, 1999 Satan would be defeated. Of course, we know that to Saddam, the U.S.A. is the Great Satan. We were never able to confirm that news report, nor a related report that February 23, 1999 is a special day to Muslims.
I shared the above with Ron Reese last night who was surprised that I mentioned it because someone has been trying to get his attention concerning February 23, 1999 because there reportedly will be a conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter, which someone has traced to coincide with epic historical events in the past. Ron is trying to confirm this. His new newsletter will be out soon. Ron says he is more convinced than ever that the 70th week of Daniel began with the October 23, 1998 Wye Agreement, confirming or strengthening the 1993 Oslo agreement...
February 23, 1999 also overlaps the final month of the Jewish sacred year which ended the 120-year warning period prophesied in 1878 by the Amish preacher, Noah Troyer. While deathly ill and unconscious, Troyer stood and prophesied about 19 times that as God had given the biblical Noah a 120-year warning of the coming judgment, God was also giving him, another Noah, a warning that America only had 120 years to repent or be destroyed. 1878 + 120 = 1998 (overlapping the Jewish sacred year ending Nisan 1, or March 18, 1999).
Will anything happen on Tuesday, February 23, 1999? I don't know. Perhaps not outwardly and openly, but it could be a significant day on God's clock and in His plan. Let us "prepare" our hearts and always be ready for whatever the Lord may bring or allow. Whether anything happens then or shortly after or not, let us be constantly reminded of and cling to the protective promises of Psalm 91.
My reply Thanks for sending this. If I ever heard about the two years to prepare, I forgot it. I hope it is to prepare for the Rapture.

I disagree with Ron. The Wye Agreement was not specifically a 7-year covenant. It was signed by Arafat, not the Roman Beast. God's wrath is to fall because of the "controversy of Zion" (Isa. 34:8). The fate of Jerusalem was not in the Wye Agreement. That is still pending. Besides, the Rapture has not taken place. We are to "escape all these things" (Lu. 21:36).
Incoming Email Re: No one knows
I pray that you and Ed are doing all right. I'm sure that between his recovery, your own ailments, and your relentless hours of study that you have scant time for email, so I'll try to be brief.
I've visited your site regularly for more than two years, and seen you time and again patiently explain that "no man knoweth" is in the present tense, and meant to apply to the hearers of that time. It appears to me that many are unconvinced.
I don't know if this will change anyone's mind, but as I listened to my Bible on tape in my car today, I was struck that the same phrase appears in Luke 10:22. Here it is:
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Who today would argue today that no one knows who the Son is? And notice that Jesus spoke in the future tense that he "will reveal" the Father. >From our position, on this side of Calvary, we can see the Lord has revealed Him to us, and we know Him. Any who doubt, please look at the whole passage to verify that I have not taken this verse out of context.
I don't know if this is useful fodder for you or know, but I hope it may help some to consider your arguments afresh. Blessings to you.
My reply Thanks. Good point.
> I pray that you and Ed are doing all right.
We are sure praising the Lord and saying thank you. He gets to continue his exercise program, but unmonitored, at Cardiac Rehab.
Incoming Email please put corrections on your 1998 predictions which didn't come to pass for the Rapture; before people get confused! I just forwarded the link to someone not realizing you still had that year in there as predicted for the Rapture!! Well, I am hoping He does come this year. But again; if not that man in Tennessee will have to be accounted for; as those who say they will not die before He comes. I just wish that I had some way of knowing myself; because again if 2001 comes and goes with no rapture/beginning of the Tribulation; then what??? You will be forced to start all over again. I dunno what to say. All I can say is that even in saying the above; I am so darn excited for the Lord; i can't even begin to describe it. He has answered so many prayers. I have felt for many years that He would come in 1999; and I envision the whole Body of Christ before the Lamb of God in 2000. But again, I have to wait and see what happens. I don't want to limp across the finish line. I want to run across; persevere and burn through in flying colors. They say in Proverbs somewhere that "Hope deferred makes the heart sick" Well, many people wanted 1988 to be the time Jesus appeared or before; but after this, some turned away from Jesus. I am afraid the same thing could happen after the next couple years. I don't want to be one of the people who says that things must drag on and on; getting worse and worse. But I would rather suffer in Him than live on one more day in apathy. The WORST thing we can do as a country; as the Body of Christ today is to get back to a laccadaisical attitude. I am convinced, in fact that the continuing health and blessings of our nation are much like the spoiled children of Israel in the desert who are rewarded with quail; but are sickened afterwards with a plague. God wants us to GROW UP; young people have shown fortitude but lack wisdom of older folk in their ministry; hence I have encouraged and written to many in the past year or so. Older people have to wake up!!! We all have to work together; families; and the WHOLE family of God. This means openly DEFYING any more barriers such as racism which continue to factionalize the Body of believers. We need to pray with our Oriental, Black and other minority believers so the WHOLE BODY is together. If the world is allowed to persecute and put to death the church; I don't stand a chance to endure it in my own strength; but TOGETHER we can do it. This is our destiny in heaven; so we must look for all those seeking TRUTH in LOVE in order to do His perfect will today. You know I am convinced the greatest enemy is WITHIN the church; the false believers (studying the WCC: World Council of Churches is about enough to surprise even Satan worshipers in some aspects). Anyway, I am just concerned that the concept of working tirelessly to strengthen the church TODAY might be lost in the landslide of the prophetic themes which you are continually expounding on. But I love you; and do believe He is coming soon; totally a Pre-Tribber; and those who believe otherwise I believe are confusing God's role with angels of WRATH destroying the earth with an entirely different age and purpose in the Tribulation than the last days of the age of Grace which we live in until the "Restrainer" is removed from the earth.
Well, enough for now. I'm like really agitated and excited and needed to get some thoughts out. God bless.
My reply I'm glad you are Pre-Trib, but your trumpet has an uncertain sound. :-)
> please put corrections on your 1998 predictions which didn't come to pass for

Where? I explained on pentecost1998.html and pentecostl999.html. My opening on the Home page gives Pentecost 1999. As for email, look at the date it was posted. I haven't time to go back and read everything I have on my Web site. I have 272 Pro and Cons alone. If each is 10 pages long, that is 2,720 pages right there. I am working to capacity. There isn't much more I can do without stopping what I think the Lord wants me to be doing.
Maybe you could send this email to your friend. I will give you some information below that might help.
> if 2001 comes and goes with no rapture/beginning of the Tribulation; then what?
I can't see that happening. Do you keep up with world events? Things are lining up so that the end is practically in sight.
The Oslo Accords were signed Sept. 13, 1993 and ratified in Israel three days later, on Tishri 1, 5754. When Joseph was in Egypt, there were seven good years and seven bad years. It seems that we are also having seven good years and seven bad years (the Tribulation) at the end of this age.
Sept. 13, 1993 + 7 = Sept. 13, 2000 + 7 = Sept. 13, 2007.
Tishri 1, 5754 + 14 = Tishri 1, 5768, our Sept. 13, 2007.
Just a coincidence? I think not. It smacks of something God would plan to coincide. The Jewish calendar varies too much from ours for this to happen often.
Joseph took up a fifth of the grain in the seven good years. I expect the Pre-Trib Rapture in the seven good years and the Pre-Wrath Rapture on Tishri 1, 5768, Sept. 13, 2007.
The clue we need to figure it out is in the Bible somewhere. In Mark 4:22,23, Jesus said, "For there is NOTHING hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad (that includes the date of the Rapture). If any man have ears to hear, let him hear." Five verses later, he said, "For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn (siton, grain, especially wheat) in the ear. But WHEN THE FRUIT IS BROUGHT FORTH, IMMEDIATELY he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come."
When is wheat planted in Israel? in the fall. When is it harvested? the following spring--starting at Pentecost. "WHEN THE FRUIT IS BROUGHT FORTH, IMMEDIATELY he putteth in the sickle, because THE HARVEST IS COME."
> Well, many people wanted 1988 to be the time Jesus appeared or before;
> but after this, some turned away from Jesus.
Name one. I haven't heard of any. This year seems to be a time of dividing the wise virgins from the foolish ones, but the foolish ones are not lost, just sent to the woodshed for some chastising so they will clean up their act, i.e., wash their robes in the blood of Christ....
Incoming Email Concerning Petra, I forgot about the second Rapture being moments before the asteriod hits. Thanks. The fiery furnace certainly applies.
I didn't mention the asteriod hit in the Med because my focus was on Petra. Mapped out, it appears that maybe two pieces hit the Med. Whichever it is, the tidal wave hits the coast of Israel and from Trye and Sidon and then south around the coast thru Gaza, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia. The wave also moves west and hits Crete. I'm thinking the main point of impact of the tital wave will hit between Gaza and the Nile because the wave appears to make it all the way to Ethiopia.
I've cleared a wall in my office and put up ONC charts (Operational Nav Charts) that show from Tunisia to east of the Persian Gulf, and from the boot of Italy arcoss northern Turkey to northern Iran. It is 8' by 7' so there's plenty of room to identify each individual city to which the Prophets were refering....
My reply > Concerning Petra, I forgot about the second Rapture being moments before
> the asteriod hits. Thanks. The fiery furnace certainly applies.
So does Zeph. 2:3: "Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid (Pre-Wrath Rapture) in the day of the LORD'S anger" (Tishri 1, 5768). The very next verses says, "Gaza (meaning goat) shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon (balance, fire of infamy) a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod (pillage, theft) at the NOON DAY, and Ekron (barrenness, tore away) shall be rooted up. WOE unto the inhabitants of the sea coast."
In deciding where the mountain burning with fire will strike in the Mediterranean Sea, consider Jer. 47:2,6,7: "Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the NORTH, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein...O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still. How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it."
Also, concerning Sela (Gr., Petra), former capitol of Edom, look at Ps. 60:8,9; 108:9,10: " over Edom will I cast out my shoe...Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?"...
Incoming Email I thought that ten day persecution of the Philadelphia church was a prophetic writing about 10 years of persecution which they endured. Now, I am thinking what would cause the 10 day persecution you mentioned?? The verses about people thinking that they are "doing God a favor" may be representative of that time. It may be possible that those resurrected from the dead will be not seen by many since it will be an instantaneous event; as the live members of the church; for one second they will be dust and underground; the next they will be resurrected; created again with new bodies and depart to heaven. Nothing beforehand will be seen; as those who are alive and disappear. Perhaps, it will be thought that grave robbers disturbed the graves. Or that a UFO abduction occured; but this seems more likely after live people are resurrected. I am not so sure about this theory; I tend to think it will be on the same day. I tend to believe in Revelation 4 that all creatures indeed on earth, in heaven; etc. WILL praise God after what happens and therefore they will have no excuse. It of course applies also when unbelievers must acknowledge that He is Lord; only to their doom being too late. I believe it would be logical to assume that worldwide peace; Israel's false messiah etc. will take this desire for peace as something God himself would want; as the Jews will be looking for their Savior; and the Muslims will expect Muhammed to appear (as one of the risen dead; perhaps). Then, I believe it will be true the saying that "ALL nations will hate you for my name's sake". This means a worldwide persecution. For those against the plans of peace from the world's messiah (the Antichrist) are going to be judged as narrowminded and people will indeed think they are "doing God a favor." (by removing believers instead of having God do it for them from the earth; kinda like euphanasia maybe). The next phase of persecution is AFTER Satan is revealed incarnate in the resurrected body of the "dead" Antichrist. Then, there will be no guise; no universally accepted "Mystery Babylon" religion; only SATAN worship. So persecution will continue; but for different reasons. (I guess you know all this stuff already).
My reply > I thought that ten day persecution of the Philadelphia church was a prophetic
> writing about 10 years of persecution which they endured. Now, I am thinking
> what would cause the 10 day persecution you mentioned??
TEN DAYS OR TEN YEARS? BEFORE OR AFTER THIS YEAR? The word for ten in Rev. 2:10 could be translated days or years. The meaning is to be understood by the context. It is even possible that ten has a double application and applies to both days and years. Let's see what the possibilities are.
Jesus said, "ye shall have tribulation ten days" to the church in Smyrna (myrrh, an herb that has to be bruised to bring out its sweetness), not Philadelphia (brotherly love). Thus, it seems to fit the time from when the door first opens to the Second Rapture. That includes the Y2K problem as well as the Tribulation. If it applied to years between the two Raptures, they could be 5759, 5760, 5761, 5762, 5763, 6764, 6765, 6766, 5767, and 5768, which is, I think, the year of the Second Rapture and the Second Advent.
Why did the Lord wait ten days to come to Jeremiah (exhaltation or grandeur of the Lord)? Jer. 42:7 says, "it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah." Things like that don't happen without a reason.
The two Raptures are symbolized by doors opening. Ezek. 40:11 says, "he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits." Ezek. 41:2 says, And the breadth of the door was ten cubits." Verse 23 says, "And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors" as there are two Raptures, entrances into the heavenly temple. Ezek. 44:5 says to "mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary."
Dan. 1:12 says, "Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days." Jesus ascended on the 40th day and came back to indwell the Church on the 50th day for a good reason. It looks like His servants will be proved ten days, one way or another.
Here is another possibility. From when Israel's War of Independence was over and she was accepted into the UN in May, 1949 + 40 years = May, 1989. Maybe we are nearing the end of 10 years of testing (May, 1989 + 10 = May, 1999). In parts of this world, there are many Christian martyrs. That would fit, and this would be the 50th year (1949 + 50 = 1999), the Jubilee, a fitting year for the Rapture.
Any way we take it, we have to be strong, no matter what happens. Our lamp has to burn bright.
> AFTER Satan is revealed incarnate in the resurrected body of the "dead" Antichrist.
I think the two beasts of Rev. 13 are two different men, the "beast" and "false prophet" of Rev. 19:20. The first is incapacitated so the second can take over by a bloodless coup. Hosea 9:7 says, "The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool (Satan possessed), the spiritual man (Tribulation Pope) is mad." This may be because his accident causes brain damage.
