Incoming Email I am sure by now that alot of your readers have e-mailed you about KOSOVO. I wonder if this isn't the world event that the Antichrist uses to step to the global forefront and solve, just after we are RAPTURED in MAY! Then he would head to Israel to sign the infamous treaty solving the PLO and other problems, possibly in exchange for the TEMPLE MOUNT for ISRAEL! JUST A INTERESTING INSPIRED THOUGHT!!!
My reply That might be a little early. I expect the treaty to be confirmed on the Feast of Weeks in 2001.
I read the following in Pastor Riley's newsletter today. It gave me an idea. Read what he said first, then I'll tell you my thoughts.
"MAN'S APPOINTED TIME
"I have already mentioned the passage in Job 7:1, where Job, speaking by Divine Inspiration, asked, "Is there not an appointed time to man upon the earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?"...
"God's Law concerning "hirelings" is recorded in Exodus 21:1-11 and Deuteronomy 15:12-18....
"Doesn't Job 7:1 plainly state that man's "days" are "like the days of a hireling?" Now according to God's Law, just how long was the "slave" (hireling) to serve his Master? I quote, "...six years shall he serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free..." Exodus 21:2. "...and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee," Deuteronomy 15:12. "...in serving thee six years...," Deuteronomy 15:18. According to God's Law the "hireling" was to serve six years, no more and no less.
"I have already demonstrated from the Scriptures (2 Peter 3:8) that the "six days" of Genesis 1 in which God worked, typify the 6000 years in which man must work. But Job 7:1 also states that "man" has "an appointed time...upon the earth," and that "his days" are "like the days of an hireling." Isn't it then obvious that the "six years" of servitude required by God's Law, no more and no less, also typifies the 6000 years of man's "sore travail" upon the earth? Read Genesis 3:17-19 and Ecclesiastes 2:22-23.
"We can then conclude that Job 7:1, when compared with God's Law concerning the "hireling," plainly reveals that man's "appointed time" upon the earth is 6000 years, no more and no less. Glory!
"It should also be obvious that the "seventh year" is typical of the seventh millenium when all of God's people "...shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God," Romans 8:18-21. Glory! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
"I would also point out that God's people (those truly saved) are not "hirelings," for the Lord Himself said, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed," John 8:36, and "Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants [slaves; hirelings]; for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you," John 15:14,15. Glory! Folks, those who have been saved by grace are no longer "hirelings," but rather "...heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ...," Romans 8:17, and we are now "...waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body," Roman 8:23. Glory! Praise the Lord! "Folks, are you ready, really ready, for the coming of the Lord? "Time is running out!"" (bold face and underlines omitted).
First, let me say that Pastor Riley is looking for the Rapture in 1999. So am I, but we get there by different routes. He thought that last year was the 6000th year, but now thinks that he must have made a mistake and this is the 6000th year. I think it is the 6001st.
What caught my eye was where he quoted a couple of passages:
Job 7:1: "Is there not an appointed time to man upon the earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?"
Ex. 21:2, "six years shall he serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free."
The most important part is "in the SEVENTH he shall go out free," NOT in the sixth. That seems to suggest the Rapture AFTER 6000 years are complete.
Last Pentecost, the 6000 years were not quite complete. They were completed as 5759 began Sept. 21st. Next May 21st will be the first Pentecost after the end of the 6000 years. It is also the end of the first planting/growing/beginning of wheat harvest since. It seems to fit this being the 6001st year of man's test since Adam was cast out of the Garden of Eden.
I think last year, 5758, was the 6000th year. The 5758 means "the season of Noah." Noah went into the Ark when he was 600 and heard the Lord's "Go forth" when he was 601. If we entered the season of Noah in the 6000th year, it makes sense that we might hear the Lord say, "Come up hither" in the 6001st. Noah came out of the Ark just about one solar year later.
There are exactly eight months from Sept. 21 to May 21 on our calendar. Remember, at the Transfiguration, "ABOUT AN EIGHT DAYS after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and WENT UP INTO A MOUNTAIN to pray" (Lu. 9:28). A mountain can represent Heaven. In the preceding verse, Jesus had said, "there be some standing here, which shall NOT TASTE OF DEATH, TILL THEY SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD." Isn't that a picture of the Rapture?
If you count the eight months from Tishri 1 to Sivan 6, Pentecost, on the Jewish calendar, there are Tishri, Cheshvan, Kislev, Teveth, Shevat, Adar, Nisan, Iyar, plus 6 days of Sivan. That is "about" 8 months. At the Rapture, we too will see Christ in his glory. It looks like the Transfiguration was a picture of the Rapture.
Moses and Elijah appeared talking with Jesus because they will come to Earth after the Rapture to prophesy during the first half of the Tribulation. They are "the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole Earth" (Zech. 4:14). "These are the two olive trees (Zech. 4:11), and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth" (Rev. 11:4).
James 5:7, in the Tischendorf New Testament, which I am now reading, says, "Be PATIENT therefore, brethren (believers), unto the coming of the Lord (i.e., the Rapture). Behold, the husbandman WAITETH for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long PATIENCE for it, until he receive THE EARLY (former rain in Tishri) and LATER RAIN (of Nisan). Be ye also PATIENT; stablish your hearts: for the COMING OF THE LORD DRAWETH NIGH. Grudge not one against another, brethren. lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge (Christ) standeth before the DOOR" (the "open door" of Rev. 3:8).
When Christ stands before the door, it is just before the Rapture, and, the next feast after the feasts of Nisan is Pentecost. In fact, Pentecost is the only feast that is neither in the month of Tishri nor Nisan. It is also the only feast that has a plain connection to the Church. The Church was born on Earth on Pentecost. Believers were filled with the Holy Spirit. It makes sense that the believers that are filled with the Holy Spirit will be born into another new world on the anniversary of the coming of the Spirit of Christ. Pentecost agrees with the time clues in Song of Solomon 2:10-14. It is the only feast that does.
Our PATIENCE will be rewarded. Rev. 3:10, in the Tischendorf NT, says, "Because thou hast kept the word of my PATIENCE, I also will KEEP THEE FROM the hour of temptation (peirasmos, trial, i.e., the Tribulation), which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."
Incoming Email How do I respond to a friend who's a member of the Church of Christ that insists:
1. Only their denomination will go to heaven
2. All of the old testament was fulfilled
Generally, I think they are not *much* different from other traditional protestant denominations, except for these two factors that I am aware of. Also, regarding #1, aren't they "adding" to the requirements for salvation, thus nullifying the cross??
My reply The Bible does not say that to be saved we have to believe in Christ AND belong to any certain denomination. We are saved by faith in Christ alone. Rom. 10:9.10 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Anyone that thinks that ALL of the Old Testament was fulfilled must not have read the Old Testament. When did "the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof" (Isa. 24:1)?
This is to happen when "a great mountain burning with fire" (Rev. 8:8) will be cast into the Mediterranean Sea and "a great star (aster, asteroid) from heaven, burning as it were a lamp" (Rev. 8:10) impacts Earth and literally turns this floating globe upside down. "O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord" (Jer. 22:29).
Incoming Email I was just wondering are you expecting a 24 hours time zone rapture period or a one time rapture? If you have consideration for both, are you leaning toward more the 24 hours time zone rapture or the one time rapture? And by the way, what did you say about the 40 days rapture operation leading up to May 21 of this year?
My reply I don't know whether we all go all at once or not, but if I have to guess, I'd say all at once. If we can be changed in the twinkling of an eye, nothing else sounds like it would take much time. All eight people that were in the Ark were floated upward by the water (symbol of the Holy Spirit) at the same time. Enoch simply "was not; for God took him" (Gen. 5:24). All the 153 fish were caught when they threw in the net one time.
Re: 40 days. Jesus ascended on the 40th day. Ascension Day was ten days before Pentecost. It falls on Tues., May 11, Iyar 25, 1999. Strange. May 11, 1949 is the day that Israel was accepted into the UN. May 11, 1949 + 50 = May 11, 1999. Do the ten days between Ascension Day and Pentecost tie in with the ten days of tribulation in Rev. 2:10? It is in the message to Smyrna, which is from myrrh, an herb that has to be bruised to bring forth its sweetness. I don't know what it might mean, but get ready and stay strong no matter what happens, especially during the last ten days. As the disciples waited ten days for Pentecost, be patient and wait for the coming of the Lord for his Bride.
Incoming Email Well, it looks like the Balkan crisis is indeed going to shake European nations with war, as I figured it would. The Antichrist may not be obvious to everyone yet; but the PLAYERS in the final struggles leading to Armageddon MUST be visible if His time is really going to be in the next couple years for the beginning of the Tribulation. They say if we do not learn from the lessons of the past, we are doomed to repeat them. Dunno who said that--but you probably do. Anyway, we have a doomsday scenario; and if we look at the years preceding WW2; we see uncanny similarities to today. This country was in an economic boom until that day of the Stock market crash in 1929. Our country politically was so anti-Semitic that we almost had the same thing happen as it did in Germany, with the KKK having like 1 million members or whatever; and FDR being attempted to be assassinated by the mob. We were isolationists in mentality; holding to the victories of WW1 and false peace agreements of the 1930s with leaders of Germany, and other Axis nations led to failure; as today's crazy agreements have done with Serbia, and the Palestinians; and dozens of other countries. War engulfed Europe; much as it appears to be headed to today. Our society paid for the years of drinking, promiscuity; and other sins of a materialistic age in the 1920s; (also, the markets were filled with inflated stocks; the country had DEflation as a major problem; and monopolies abounded). These and other factors are DIRECTLY paralleled with the events of today!!!! The only difference; ISRAEL is a nation. This brings the conflict; the Anti-Semitic hatred of the Arabs, Russians and other nations against Israel ultimately; the players in that part of the world will find peace there irresistible as a place where world government through the Antichrist will launch his way to power.
My reply Just keep in mind that Jesus said, "ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye BE NOT TROUBLED" (Mt. 24:6).

POPE TO VISIT ISRAEL, PA AREAS
The Vatican has invited Jerusalem mayor Ehud Olmert to visit Pope John Paul later this year to discuss the pontiff's plans to visit the city and the "Holy Land" in the year 2000.
A spokesperson for the mayor's office, Jo-Ann Malka, said the invitation had been delivered during a meeting between Olmert and Cardinal Roger Etchegaray, the Vatican's official in charge of preparations for millennial celebrations....
The pope is likely to include Jerusalem, Nazareth and the PA-controlled town of Bethlehem in his itinerary....
It will be the first papal visit since Israel captured Jordanian-ruled eastern Jerusalem in 1967, reuniting the city as its capital.
Along with most of the international community, the Vatican does not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the city, but its willingness to liaise with the Israeli mayor in planning the visit indicates an acknowledgement of the realities on the ground....
Besides the planned visit to Israel, Pope John Paul has long expressed a desire to mark the turn of the millennium with an unprecedented event on Mount Sinai, involving Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders coming together in a "gesture of reconciliation".
Incoming Email When the rapture occurs, will our spirits leave our bodies to meet the Lord in the air, or will our bodies float up, or simply vanish or what? If our spirits leave our bodies, will there be a bunch of dead bodies just lying around? Your Brother in Christ
My reply There have been two previous Raptures, of Enoch and Elijah. Neither time was there any dead body left behind. Gen. 5:24 simply says, "Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."
II Kings 2:9-12 says, Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he (Elijah) said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha SAW IT,and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And HE SAW HIM NO MORE."
The Bible does not tell us that Enoch knew when he was to be taken up, but we read in other sources that he knew. The Bible tells us definitely that Elijah knew when he was to be taken up.
I think Psalm 40:1-3 shows us that many will see the Rapture and trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3 says, "I WAITED PATIENTLY for the LORD; and he inclined (bent down) unto me, and HEARD MY CRY (prayer, Lu. 21:36). He brought me up also out of an horrible pit (out of the Earth), out of the miry clay (our bodies of clay), and set my feet upon a rock (the heavenly planet), and established my goings. And he hath put a new song (sung after the Rapture in Revelation 5:9) in my mouth, even praise unto our God: MANY SHALL SEE IT, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."
This was written in code, so to speak, since the Rapture was a hidden mystery until Paul revealed it. Isa. 57:1-3 is part of the mystery as told in the Old Testament.
It says, "THE righteous perisheth (abad, exit, evacuate), and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are TAKEN AWAY, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. But DRAW NEAR hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore."
The evil that is to come is the Tribulation, when the Beast and False Prophet reign. The Rapture is when the Tribulation is drawing near.
Paul was chosen to reveal the Rapture plainly. In I Thess. 4:14-18, he said, "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (Old English for precede) them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
Since the ones that are asleep in Jesus will get their resurrection bodies first, I assume that we will get ours at that time also.
Luke 21:36 says, "WATCH ye therefore, and PRAY ALWAYS, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY to ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS (the Tribulation) that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." The word for escape is EKPHEUGO, "escape OUT OF or AWAY FROM." We get our word EXIT from the prefix, "EK." Strong's gives "vanish" as an alternate meaning for EKPHEUGO.
Psalm 40:1-3 shows that the Lord will hear our cry and answer this prayer. Let us pray that he will stamp "WORTHY" next to our names. Let us confess our sins and then live so as to deserve "WORTHY" next to our names.
I look at the Rapture as being a time when the Holy Spirit will rise up in the clouds as Jesus did. All firmly attached by reason of being filled with the Spirit of Christ will rise up to meet Him in the air.
This doesn't mean that the Holy Spirit will be absent from the Earth during the Tribulation. The Spirit of God is more than my mental picture allows. "For in him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28). He can take us up and still handle things on Earth. He is like the wind that listeth where it wills. John 3:8 says, "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."
Regardless of how we picture it, the indwelling Spirit of God is our ticket and transporter to Heaven.
Incoming Email A Korean revelation (Jim Bramlett)
Of all the nations, God's work in the nation of South Korea in the past few decades may be the most extensive and pervasive. For some years, South Korea has even been a "sending" nation, sending missionaries all over the world, including to Japan and Russia. I deeply respect what God has done there and His work in the Korean people.
There is a 75-year-old female Korean pastor with whom I have indirect contact who has had an extraordinary walk with the Lord since the early 1950s. I know because as a volunteer I have been editing a book about her life that she wrote in Korean, and a Korean friend and member of her church is translating it into English. He said his English is rough and he asked me to edit it. Doing so has been a great blessing and inspiration to me.
I am awed by her life and submission to Christ. Her life is full of miracles, such as how God saved her and miraculously protected her during the Korean War, as well as how He has used her for several decades. She now pastors a Korean church in the U.S.
She says that God has revealed to her very clearly that the rapture is extremely near. She does not know exactly when, but the Spirit has spoken to her so strongly of its imminence that she looks for it every day!
Would she rule out 1999? I have not asked but from what I understand, based on what she is hearing from the Spirit, to her 1999 is more likely than unlikely.
And although having no previous knowledge or conviction about a the concept of a split or phased rapture, she says the Lord has shown her that the first rapture will be a small number. The primary purpose of her book, which she doesn't even want to copyright, is for those left behind.
This is a good reminder for all of us to continually heed the Lord's words: "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:36).
I spoke with my Korean friend this afternoon and he says his pastor believes this book is the last thing the Lord wants her to do before the rapture. Knowing the way she has heard her Shepherd's voice in the past, I take this very seriously.
(The book is already written and available in Korea, and is now in the process of being translated into English and Russian, about 40 percent complete.)
Incoming Email A dream, a sign (Jim Bramlett)
A friend in Orlando tells me that at the recent prophecy conference in Tampa, evangelist/prophecy teacher Perry Stone testified that when he was 18 years old, God gave him a prophetic dream. Stone, a 4th generation evangelist, and his father have co-authored a book on dreams and visions.
In the dream Perry walked along a path toward a small house that was lit up with golden lights inside. Along the path he saw grain that had not been harvested. He then saw a white horse galloping through the harvest field, then three other horses (total of four). The white horse reared up its hind legs and Perry saw an emblem on it. He thought to himself, "If I ever see that emblem agan, I know it will be a sign of the approaching end of the age."
Perry proceeded to go up the path, into the house. Inside the house was a man who was lighting candles. Perry asked him, "What is the meaning of all this?"
The man replied, "The havest (of souls) is all in. We are on the threshhold of getting out of here. We're leaving." (The rapture.)
Now, 21 years later, on January 2, 1999 on C-SPAN, Perry said he saw that emblem once again, for the very first time since the dream.
It was the emblem of the new Euro, the new currency of the European Union.
Note: There is that "21" again.
Incoming Email Last night I was reading P&C's 287 and 290, and was very interested in the references to the numbers 5, 2, and 1. Today I was reading Matthew 25, and those numbers just jumped out at me:
"14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave FIVE talents, to another TWO, and to another ONE; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey."
It's interesting to find those numbers mentioned here, because the verses immediately preceeding 14 and 15 are about the bridegroom coming to take the wise virgins to the wedding!
My reply Thanks. I had not noticed this before.
Incoming Email Are you okay, Marilyn? I hope you are just busy. I haven't seen any updates on your web site since the 22nd. I am praying for you! With the Love and Light of our Saviour
My reply Thanks for your prayers. I am OK, but tired.
Busy? Oh my goodness. I uploaded 3 Pro and Cons on Mon. That was yoeman effort, never more than two before on same day. I was so tired, I went to the bedroom twice thinking that I just can't do it on the 3rd one. Both times, I turned around to give it one more try. I slept just about the whole next day, except for when I had to take Ed to Cardiac Rehab. Almost went to sleep waiting on him. Driving was risky. Ed can't drive. Wed., had to take Ed to get new mask for his C-Pap breathing machine and walk in the mall. Thur., Rehab and Post Office. Today, took Ed for bloodwork, left off prescription to be filled, walked in the mall. In between are sprinkled other trips to eat, to the Post Office, bank and grocery store. I have to pay bills, reconcile bank statements, type invoices, post them, pack books, wash, keep house (and that suffers, I'm afraid), wash car, etc.
I watched ice skating last night and intend to tomorrow. It is just about my only recreation. I started to say "only recreation," but I have watched some tapes lately that were sent to me. I try not to waste time, but figure I am entitled to take a break sometimes and see these very interesting tapes. They are on skating, Bible stories or Bible Prophecy. I read my Bible, Josephus, or other books sent me, during commercials or fast fwd past commercials on tapes. I can't do more than I do. I would collapse.
