Incoming Email Re: Amazing afterglow of BRB 22 seconds after main burst:
I thought you might find this report interesting. Doesn't it seem very co-incidental that the light counterpart or burst afterglow was seen 22 seconds after the main burst, (ie 22nd of May). Out of all the possible time measurements that could have been calculated it just happened to be a 22.
I think it is even more amazing that it just happened to be the first time such a measurement has been made. The following is also significant.
"revealed a change in its brightness that could be interpreted as a sign of a jet of energy, moving close to the speed of light, and pointing nearly toward Earth"
All of this is too much to be co-incidental God has indeed given us a sign. Amen!!!!
Following the Caltech team's announcement, several hours later a team of astronomers known as the ROTSE collaboration, led by Professor Carl Akerloff of the University of Michigan, reported that the visible light counterpart of the burst was also seen in the images taken with a small, robotic telescope operated by their team, starting only 22 seconds after the burst. This was the first time that such rapid measurement of a burst afterglow was made, and its extreme brightness was unexpected.
At the prompting of the Caltech team, a group of astronomers led by Professor Garth Illingworth of the University of California at Santa Cruz, used the W. M. Keck Observatory's 10-meter Keck-II telescope at Mauna Kea, Hawaii, to obtain a spectrum of the burst afterglow. A distance to the burst was determined from its spectrum, and the burst was found to be about 9 billion light-years from Earth. The Keck measurement of the distance was crucial. "We were stunned," says Djorgovski. "This was much further than we expected, and together with the observed brightness of the burst it implied an incredible luminosity.
"The peak brightness of the visible light afterglow alone would be millions of times greater than the luminosity of an entire galaxy, and thousands of times brighter than the most luminous quasars known." This remarkable light flash contained only a small fraction of the total burst energy in the gamma rays. Caltech astronomers note that even more energy was likely emitted in forms that are difficult to observe, such as gravitational waves or neutrinos, elusive particles that can penetrate the entire planet Earth without stopping.
A detailed follow-up study of the burst's afterglow by the Caltech team revealed a change in its brightness that could be interpreted as a sign of a jet of energy, moving close to the speed of light, and pointing nearly toward Earth.
"This was the first time that such behavior was seen in a gamma-ray burst," emphasized Kulkarni, "and it may help explain in part its enormous apparent brightness." In agape love
My reply Thank you so much for this information. It does seem to be a sign.
Incoming EmailRe: engagement:
...In a recent P&C you wrote (again : )) about the bride's "engagement" lasting one year. Suddenly "lightening struck"!
I don't think I wrote you about my experience in March '98. I was at my son's for the birth of their fourth child: a darling baby girl. They flew my husband up for the weekend to celebrate his 70th birthday and greet his newest granddaughter. (My husband had not yet retired). One evening after he returned home, I was alone in my room preparing for bed. Suddenly I was aware of Jesus being in the room! He acknowledged that He knew I wanted to be part of His Bride and He asked me to give my husband who had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer to Him. I asked Jesus if I did, would He take him Home'. Jesus replied: "I won't answer that". After a while Jesus left to await my decision.
I cried and struggled for a l-o-n-g time. My sweetheart proposed to me when we were seniors in high school. Two years later, in 1947, we married. We have become very dependent on each other. My husband is a very efficient person (I am not): he keeps the books and keeps things running smoothly especially the computer when it gets cantankerous!) After a l-o-n-g time of crying and praying, I finally said "OK, Lord. I give him to you". I soon fell asleep. The next morning I again felt Jesus presence in the room. I could not see Him, but knew He was smiling. Timidly, I asked, "Why was it necessary for me to give my husband to You?" His reply, "You desire to be My bride. A husband and wife have a special relationship on earth: MY bride must love me more than anyone or anything else for I will have a very special relationship with my bride."!
Back to the P&C: Suddenly I realized Jesus came to me in March, BEFORE Pentecost '98 when the "engagement" started! WOW!: )
See you soon, Love in Christ, Maranatha!
P.S.: My sweetheart had radio active seeding in July. There is now no sign of cancer. Praise the LORD!
My reply ...Thanks for sharing this with me. We have something very special waiting for us in Heaven. Glad your husband is ok. Ed is too. We were also married in 1947. Agape

...I have keept her in my prayers, but the Lord knew what was best for her. I will continue to pray for you and your family's needs each and every day.
You are right though, it won't be long until you see her again, it will be very soon.
God Bless you and your family and help you through these trying times. Remember, the Lord loves you and Is Always With You. You have been a blessing to so many, myself included. I see your love for God and fellowman, as you press on NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, to fight the good fight for the service of the Lord. Marilyn, be assured, one day, very soon, you will hear in the Heavenly Kingdom, "WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT". Yes, indeed WELL DONE! In HIS LOVE
My reply My thanks to you and to all who prayed for Millie.

#1. Found on 5 doves:
To John & All:
Greetings, in the precious Name of Jesus, and in the soon-to-be catching away power of His Blood. Here's an interesting thought: Did anyone hear of the upcoming made-for-TV Movie on "The Flood/Noah's Ark"? I am bringing this up, because I heard that it's being broadcast on May 2, 1999. I am wondering how and why this particular broadcast date was selected.
The reason I say this is because on the evening of May 2, 1999, at the time of the television broadcast, it will be IYAR 17, 5759 (17th day of 2nd month). This is the exact same day the Flood commenced! Remember, the 17th day of Iyar starts at sunset of Iyar 16 (May 2nd). Coincidence? Or another sign?
I don't think the network pre-planned it, because it's not as though it's a festive holiday. Also, they probably would have shown it on the CALENDAR 17th, rather than on its broadcast date on the BIBLICAL start of the 17th day.
Yours In The Blood
#2. And from a post on WEDG by David Campbell:
...I clicked on ARTICLES on your main page. I was just going to see what is there. I scrolled down to David M. Williams and clicked on his name. I then saw his article, "The Antichrist and Satan..." and clicked on it. Here's what I found at the top: He quotes Henri Spaak, Secretary of NATO and planner of the EEC as saying, "We do not want another committee. We have too many already. What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all people and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man and whether he be God or devil, we will receive him." (Cartledge, n.d.,p.132).
Surely it's not long now! Maranatha!
My reply In Noah's day, the second month was Cheshvan, not Iyar. The Sacred Calendar began at the Exodus. However, maybe that is why the month is not named. It only says the second month. Iyar is the second month of the Sacred Calendar. God doesn't miss a trick. There are subtle clues all over the place. Our days are as the days of Noah.
Incoming Email My son (6) decided to ask God the other day, when Jesus was coming back. He told me God told him Saturday! Love
My reply Thanks. Out of the mouths of babes, huh?
Incoming Email If the rapture happens May 22nd, what would be the Eastern Standard Time that is comparable to the time in Israel? Would it be around 6 pm on Friday, the 21st? I think you might have answered this question before but I can't find it among your Pro/Cons. I just want to be sure I am with my husband during that weekend so we can go up together. Have you seen the Visual Bible video casettes on Matthew and the Book of Acts? It portrays Jesus going up into the clouds smiling with his hands lifted up to heaven. Everytime I watch the tapes I picture thousands going up the same way. What a glorious event! I actually picture some of us bumping into each other and I laugh. I read a report recently that said there really ARE NOT GOING TO BE THAT MANY going up in the first rapture. I know you've said we have to have our robes white as snow. I try, but how to get them completely white is my problem. I get angry with what's going on in Washington and throughout our country. And I get upset when I try to tell people about the Rapture and they don't want to hear about it. Even the local priest told me that Jesus is coming back at the end of the world. Why would He come back at all if it is the end of the world? He didn't believe a word I said and I got angry with him. How hard it is, but with God all things are possible. I'm counting the days with you. Love in Christ!
My reply > If the rapture happens May 22nd, what would be the Eastern Standard
> Time that is comparable to the time in Israel?
US Eastern time zone - back up 7 hrs. from Israel time. However, I don't know what hour it will be even in Israel. Midnight is mentioned in the parable of the ten virgins, but Mk. 13: 35-37 says, "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." If we all go at once, it may be evening for some, midnight for some, 3:00 AM for some and morning for others.

Jesus said, "see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end (i.e., the Great Tribulation) is not yet" (Mt. 24:6). We know that we are living in the end of the age, so things are getting worse all around us. Also, as there were Pharisees in 30 AD, we have our Pharisee types today.
We should strive to keep sins confessed instantly and brought under the blood of Christ. We are not told how much oil of the Holy Spirit we need, so to be sure, we should do the very best we can. As for the number, we are not told that either, but the 1/5th of the grain Joseph took up in the seven good years might be an indicator. If so, that would be a lot of people.
I read that they are having trouble getting enough people to accept smart cards. Seems that the salt is still retarding the growth of leaven. They will probably be glad when we are out of their way.
> Have you seen the Visual Bible video casettes on Matthew and the Book of Acts?
No, I haven't.
Mt. 24:43 says, "But know this, that if the goodman (i.e., pastor) of the house (church) had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up."
Incoming Email Once again, I am confused. From reading your books and P&C's, I have been under the impression that "That Day", the day the asteriods will hit, will be seven months before the actual "touchdown" of Christ on the the mount of Olives.
I chanced across Zechariah 14.1-8 while searching for specifics on the asteriod destruction, and it appears to me that this chapter takes place on "That Day".
-verse 1. Behold, the day of the Lord cometh....
2. I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle....
3. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations.....
6. And it shall come to pass in that day...
7. But it shall be one day known to the Lord....
This is also the same day his feet shall stand upon the mount of Olives (verse 4). I thought this happened seven months after "That Day".
Can you help me out here?
Give Ed my best. Agape
My reply Zech. 14 takes place in the 1000-year Day of the Lord. In verses 1-3, the time is Tishri 1, the first day of the Millennium. That is the Day of God's Wrath. It is the day of the trumpets and thick darkness (Joel 2:1-3). It is the day of the mountain burning with fire impacting the Mediterranean Sea (Rev. 8:8) and washing Gog's army out of Israel's hair, the day of the world-wide earthquake when every wall will fall (Ezek. 38:18-20).
Now notice what Zech. 5-7 says, "the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall NOT BE CLEAR, NOR DARK: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD (he knows the day), not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."
The day of thick darkness cannot be the same day that will be light at evening. Therefore, verse 4 is not the same day as verse 1. It is carefully worded: "And his feet shall stand IN that day (in the Millennium, not necessarily on the first day of the 1000) upon the mount of Olives." Ezek. 38:23 shows that the first day, Tishri 1, is the day the Sign of the Son of Man of Mt. 24:30 is seen. He says, "I will be known in the EYES of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD." However, he waits "seven months" (Ezek. 39:12) to actually touch down on the Mt. of Olives. That day, Nisan 1 (Ezek. 29:17,21), first day of the Regnal and Sacred Year, will be "the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD" (Ezek. 39:13).
Those of the first Rapture will be in Heaven at least seven years. Those of the second Rapture will be in Heaven seven months before all return to Earth with the Lord. There would be no need of a second Rapture if they were going to return to Earth again that same day.
Ed is ok. He went to Cardiac Rehab today. Neither one of us got much sleep last night, but we are holding up. However, I think I'll grab me a snack and then a nap before I do much else.
Incoming Email MY NAME IS ----- -----. I LIVE IN BORGER, TX. I AM USING A COMPUTER OF A FRIEND, BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE ONE MYSELF. I STUMBLED UPON YOUR WEB PAGE AND FOUND IT TOTALLY FASCINATING. I LIVE, BREATHE, AND EAT FOR THE DAY WHEN WE WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF HERE. THE REASON I AM WRITING YOU IS TO TELL YOU SOME THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING, THAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE HEARD OF OUT THERE IN CALIFORNIA. LAST YEAR, I STUMBLED UPON A PROGRAM ON MY CHRISTIAN SATELLITE DISH. IT WAS AN INTERVIEW OF A VERY HUMBLE GENTLEMAN IN ALABAMA WHO THE LORD GAVE A MESSAGE TO IN 1992. THIS MAN WAS NOT SAVED, AND WAS ALMOST AT DEATH, AND ASKED JESUS INTO HIS HEART. GOD TOLD HIM THAT HE WOULD NOT DIE, BUT THAT HE WAS TO GO AND TELL HIS PEOPLE THAT JESUS WOULD BE BACK FOR HIS PEOPLE....BEFORE....THE YEAR 2000. YOU CAN REACH THIS MAN AT: DAVID GANT, (256)597-3525, 8574 HWY 73, BRYANT, AL, 35958. (HE ALSO DOES NOT OWN A COMPUTER, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL HIM - HE IS VERY EAGER TO TELL ANYONE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM AND HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE U.S. TELLING GOD'S MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE WHO WILL RECEIVE HIM).
ALSO, A FRIEND OF MINE DOWN OUR STREET HAS A LITTLE AUTISTIC BOY WHO IS 10 YEARS OLD. LAST YEAR, HE CAME INSIDE HIS HOUSE FROM PLAYING OUTSIDE AND HE LOOKED DIFFERENT THAN HIS MOM HAD EVER SEEN HIM. HE TOLD HER THAT "ANGELS DON'T HAVE WINGS, AND THEY WEAR WHITE AND ARE VERY TALL." HE TOLD HER THAT THE ANGEL TOLD HIM TO HURRY AND GO INSIDE THE HOUSE AND TELL HIS MOM THAT JESUS IS COMING BACK IN 1999 AND THEN THE ANGEL WENT UP INTO THE CLOUDS AND WAVED AT HIM. WHEN HIS MOTHER AND SISTER HUGGED HIM AFTER HEARING THIS STORY, THEY SAID THAT IT FELT LIKE ELECTRICITY WENT THROUGH THEIR BODIES AND LITTLE RAYS OF LIGHT WENT ALL OVER THE ROOM.
ALSO, (AS IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH!) A LOCAL GIRL WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AROUND WHERE I LIVE, AND THE LORD TOLD HER TO PICK UP A HITCHHIKER THAT WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE NORMALLY DOESN'T DO THAT, BUT FELT THAT THE LORD WANTED THIS, SO SHE DID. AFTER MANY MINUTES OF TALKING WITH THE GENTLEMAN, HE SAID TO HER, "GABRIEL IS LIFTING THE TRUMPET" AND THEN VANISHED BEFORE HER EYES. THIS HAPPENED IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR!
JUST THOUGHT YOU MIGHT WANT TO HEAR ALL OF THAT CONFIRMATION. YOU HAVE REALLY IMPRESSED ME WITH ALL OF THE RESEARCH YOU DO. YOU DEFINITELY WILL BE PART OF THE BRIDE WHEN WE ALL LEAVE TO BE MARRIED! IF YOU NEED ANYMORE INFORMATION, YOU MAY REACH ME AT (806) 274-2549 SINCE I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER - SORRY! I'M GLAD TO HAVE YOU AS A SISTER IN CHRIST! SEE YOU SOON MARILYN!!!!!THE TRUMPET IS ABOUT TO BLOW!!!
My reply Thanks for the information. I hope you see the answer on the Pro and Con. Here is what I have on David Gant. The others, I had not heard about.
--- In August 1992, David Gant was lost and trapped in an underwater river cave while scuba diving late at night for catfish. He found an 18" high air pocket and clung to a stalactite for 14 hours, thinking he would be rescued. Without hope, he finally decided he was going to die and prayed that the Lord would save his soul. Instantly, the presence of the Lord came, cleansed and saved him. Ecstatic with joy and peace, David asked the Lord to take him and not leave him in this world. Instead the Lord spoke to him and said, "I want you to go back and get your family ready to meet Me. And go tell the whole world I am coming for my children before the year 2000." Let the reader judge this.
Incoming Email God bless you and your ministry. I visit daily.
Despite your best educational efforts, Biblical chronology remains a puzzle within a conundrum to me. Tonight, for whatever reason, I performed a search on "Martin Anstey".
Wow! Was that productive. And, incidently, Pro & Con was well represented. It probably is no news to you that everyone seems to disagree SOMEWHAT with everyone on the subject.
Well, if you have time (and I know what a horrendous schedule you keep) you might find this site interesting: http://www.askelm.com/p980304.htm
I'd appreciate your comments.
You and Ed are always in my prayers. God bless, Maranatha.
My reply I can't open vcard.vcf cards, but thanks for the thought anyway.
Re: chronology: Here is the main idea Ernest Martin presented in his own words:
Anstey with great dexterity demonstrated that accepting Ptolemy in a dogmatic way was a very precarious and dangerous procedure. Adopting the opinions of this Egyptian astronomer (whose first business was that of being an astrologer) as being the sole authority for understanding the chronology of the Neo-Babylonian and Persian periods was seen by Anstey as a reckless endeavor. Anstey was right! Yet, the whole secular world of the scholars (and sadly, even those who held the Scriptures in esteem) went over to accept Ptolemy's opinions in an infallible sense. Very few even questioned the conclusions of this early astronomer/astrologer. And today, when you look at any historical work or encyclopaedia concerning the dates of years within the Neo-Babylonian periods, you will see the opinions of Ptolemy in full evidence and with a rank of infallibility surrounding the dates he indicated.
Anstey saw the danger in this approach adopted by the scholars and accepted by all the intelligentsia in the world. As soon as I read Anstey's concern a little over forty years ago, I began to share his apprehension regarding this matter. What Anstey did was to make an attempt to straighten out the chronological mess that Ptolemy has bequeathed to us in trying to understand that critical two hundred years of history. He gave a noble attempt and he must be congratulated for his efforts. He made a courageous and reasonable attempt, but even he did not utilize to the fullest extent the eclipse, stellar and planetary data that could help make the period much more understandable. Indeed, some new discoveries in astronomical matters have come to the fore since Anstey wrote and they all need to be considered. To make it plain, Anstey's reconstruction (though a major contribution to solving the mess) was not backed up with reliable astronomical data that could harmonize the chronological history of the Neo-Babylonian and Persian periods that would be recognizable to all scholars. Scholars want indisputable proofs, and I do not blame them. The fact is, I am not out to chastise the scholars because I have also been misled on certain important subjects over the years. But what I do feel we need, is for all historians and biblical professionals to at least look at the available evidence. If they do in honesty, they will observe that there are some outstanding deficiencies in the present system that the world has dogmatically accepted as infallible. The truth is, though, most modern scholars do not even realize that they are so dependent on Ptolemy.
***From Marilyn: As far as I can tell, Martin Anstey's finding the 82-year mistake in Ptolemy's list of the Persian kings is correct. Whether "scholars" accept it or not is another matter. I'm not trying to convince them. As Ernest pointed out, some would rather change the Bible than to admit that Ptolemy was wrong. We do not have time, and it would be like butting your head against a brick wall anyway. They "know" what they think they know.
Anstey determined that BC 454 was the first year of Cyrus (Isa. 44:28). The 483 years of Dan. 9:25 that date from that time to the Crucifixion work out perfectly (483 - 454 + 1 because no zero year = 30 AD). From 30 AD to 70 AD is the forty years of Ezek. 4:6. When you figure out all the details in the NT fixing the Crucifixion, you come out to 30 AD. It is locked in place, and I see no way of moving it. The only thing that keeps everyone from agreeing on that is the first year of Tiberius. It is counted not from when he began to be Sole-Rex in 14 AD, but from when he began to be Co-Rex in 12 AD. He was the only one over the area of Israel from 12 AD.
Ernest Martin wants so badly to have everything so cut and dried, 4000 years from Adam's creation to 27/28 AD when he says Jesus started his ministry, that it gets in his way. I take the Bible for absolute truth and let it say what it will without trying to force anything to fit any pattern.
Ernest made a 24-year mistake early in his chronology. He thought the call of Abraham was when he was 99. Abraham was called when 75. From Acts 7:4,5, we learn that the Lord "promised that he would give it ('this land') to him (Abraham) for a possession, and to his seed after him, WHEN AS YET HE HAD NO CHILD." That means that it was BEFORE Ishmael was born. It can't be when Abraham was 99. It had to be when he left Haran. From Gen. 12:1,2,4, we see that "Abram departed...and Abram was SEVENTY AND FIVE YEARS OLD when he departed out of Haran...and into the land of Canaan they came." The promise got repeated later, but the first time was when they left Haran. Why else would they have come into Canaan?
Ernest thinks it will be 2000 years from 27/28 AD to the return of Christ in 2027/2028 AD. I think that we haven't got that kind of time left. The Sign of the End of the Age was the Six-Day War of 1967. That can't be changed. No matter what happens to Israel later on, that was the first time she grew those four huge leaves (Sinai, West Bank, Golan Heights and Gaza Strip), taking the rest of Jerusalem and the temple area (fulfilling Mt. 24:32-34 and Lu. 21:24). That is when the last generation was born. All the prophecies of the end times must take place within 40 years after 1967 (more accurately, 5728 + 40 = 5768). The Jewish 5768 is our 2007/2008.
Some argue over the length of a generation, but Mt. 23:36 shows that from 30 AD to 70 AD was one generation. I am afraid that some will still be arguing when the Rapture takes place.
Now don't get me wrong. I admire Ernest Martin for his efforts. He has uncovered some information about the days before Herod's death that made me understand when the wise men came to see the child Jesus, when he was about two years old, in 3 AD. I can learn from his prodigious research and enjoy reading his books. I just don't always agree with his conclusions. Agape
