Where in the Bible does it state that Adam was in the garden 40 years?

My reply

The Bible doesn't plainly say, "Adam was in the garden 40 years." I found it out in a strange way. A draftsman that studied Bible with me took home two of my charts to make one chart to scale with all the information that was on both of the others. One was of the Ages, the other of the Dispensations. He came back the next day saying that he had stayed up until midnight and they wouldn't fit together unless the Dispensation of Innocence was outside the chart of the Ages.

I was too stunned to believe him at first, but he was right. I also found that if you made both charts to scale on clear acetate, put them one on top of the other on a third chart of Old Testament Chronology made to scale, they all fit together perfectly if Adam's Creation in 4043 B.C is 40 years before he was cast out of the garden in 4003 B.C.

I finally realized that it made sense. The number 40 in Scripture means testing and probation. Of course. Adam was being tested. Jesus, the second Adam, was tested 40 days. Saul, David and Solomon each reigned 40 years. Out of their testing, David earned the right to rule again during the Millennium. He will be a prince under Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Adam had a chance for immortality while in the garden, but was mortal after being judged and cast out. During the time since that day, man has been tested being mortal.

The time of the mortality of man seems to have been set at 7,000 years, during which man is tested. However, there is an added interval between the Rapture and the beginning of the millennial Day of the Lord. I think this probably was inserted so that it could easily be dropped if Israel turned to the Lord before the Tribulation took place. The parable of the barren fig tree in Luke 13:6-9 explains how the Lord checks on Israel for four Jewish years before the Tribulation begins to see if there is any fruit. "And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down."

If I have figured the time of the Rapture correctly, the four years, counted by Jewish inclusive reckoning, would be 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. If the Rapture is on Pentecost and the beginning of the Tribulation on Pentecost (Feast of Weeks), as I think they will be, then the count of the years is exact--Pentecost, 1998, to Pentecost, 2001.

I think the "ye shall have tribulation ten days" of Rev. 2:10 shows that there will be ten years from the Rapture in the Jewish 5758 to the beginning of the Millennium in the Jewish 5768. The word translated "days" means a variety of time periods, the exact meaning to be determined by the context. Here, years fits perfectly.

The Jewish Year 5768 starts Sept. 13, 2007. Israel became a nation in 1948, grew leaves fulfilling the fig tree parable of Mt. 24:32-34 in the Six-Day War of 1967 when she was 19, and will end her final 40 years of probation in 2007. On Sept. 13, 2007, the day the Sign of the Son of Man will be seen in the heavens, and a catastrophe take place on Earth, the nation will be saved in a day and the scattered Jews will then begin to return to the promised land.

This is typified by the fact that Israel first became a nation when she came out of Egypt. The males 20 and up were counted. The 19 year olds were the young. Those 19 year old youngsters were the generation to go into the promised land 40 years later. Notice the modern parallel: 1948 + 19 = 1967 + 40 = 2007. If Israel had been one year older, she could not have been called "apalos," young (translated "tender" in the KJV), in the fig tree parable.

There is another parallel that fits the Rapture in 1998. Fifty years after Israel first became a nation when she came out of Egypt the Israelites were to keep the Jubilee. At that time, debts were cancelled and land returned to the owner. This fits the Rapture, a Jubilee for the Church, made up of Jews and Gentiles who are grafted in. 1948 + 50 = 1998.

This shows us the span between the Rapture and the beginning of the Millennium. 1948 + 50 = 1998 and 1948 + 19 + 40 = 2007. This is, I believe, the interval that has been inserted into the 7,000 years of time from when man became mortal to the Great White Throne Judgment.

I realize that I have told you more than you asked and that it is sketchy, but I think it is necessary to get a picture of the whole span of time to see clearly that Adam was in the garden 40 years.

If you have more questions, I will be glad to try to answer them. More details are in my book, "Exit: 2007: The Secret of Secrets Revealed."

I have read with interest your Internet article about the Rapture taking place at Pentecost, 1998.

May I inquire what will be happening during the 2 1/2 year interval from the Rapture to the beginning of the Tribulation? Will people know the Rapture had occurred?

My reply

Thank you for your interest. Whether I am right or wrong about the date, the Rapture can't be far off. I keep looking for clues in Scripture and everything fits into that same pattern. When Israel was first born as a nation when they left Egypt, it was 50 years to the Jubilee, when debts were forgiven and land returned to its owner. This fits very well if the Rapture takes place 50 years after Israel again became a nation.

I think the interval between the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation will be about three years, from Pentecost, May 31, 1998 to Pentecost, May 28, 2001.

It is not easy to know exactly what will happen in the interval. We know that the Church is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and that it will go up in Rapture I. Does that mean that the literal temple in Jerusalem will go up then? I'm not sure, but it could indicate that. The temple will be there during the Tribulation for in the middle, the False Prophet sits in the temple showing himself that he is God.

One thing that we can know is that people will see the Rapture happen.

Psalm 40:1-3 says, "I WAITED patiently (as the Philadelphians do, Rev. 3:10) for the LORD; and he inclined (bent down) unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit (as Jeremiah acted out), out of the miry clay (out of our bodies of clay), and set my feet upon a rock (Heaven), and established my goings (the Rapture). And he hath put a new song (sung after the Rapture, Rev. 5:9) in my mouth, even praise unto our God (Rev. 5:12,13): MANY SHALL SEE IT (the Rapture), and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."

God never leaves himself without a witness. These who see the Rapture take place will spread the gospel during the interval. Since Elisha got a double portion of the Holy Spirit when he saw Elijah raptured, these may too. This would give them powerful impact when they speak of Christ. It would give them the courage to endure martyrdom if that is their lot.

I want them to know that if they are not killed, there is another Rapture on the 2300th day of the Tribulation. I want them to know that there is hope and that Rapture II will take place before the Wrath of God is poured out at noon on the Feast of Trumpets, September 13, 2007.

...what do you think about the possibility of the two Raptures, one Pre-Trib, the other Pre-Wrath?

I think the "firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb" of Rev. 14:4 are the entire Body of Christ and that the "FIRST of the firstfruits" that is to be brought into the house of the Lord on Pentecost is that segment of the Body of Christ that is the Bride of Christ.

Exodus 23:19. says of Pentecost, "the feast of harvest" (v. 16), "The FIRST of the firstfruits of thy land (i.e., earth) thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God." This can refer to Heaven since Jesus said, "In my Father's HOUSE are many mansions" (John 14:2).

The offering on Pentecost is not Christ (the Unleavened Bread), but "baken with leaven" Lev. 23:17 says, "Ye shall bring out of your habitations TWO wave-loaves...they shall be baken with leaven; THEY (the two) ARE THE FIRSTFRUITS unto the LORD." Verse 22 says, "And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field...thou shalt leave them" This reminds me of the Laodiceans who are spewed out of the Body of Christ.

Ezekiel 44:30 mentions that "the FIRST of all the firstfruits" belongs to the priest. Christ is our high priest, and the Bride of Christ qualifies as the FIRST of all the firstfruits. James 1:18 says, "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a KIND of firstfruits of his creatures." When the Tribulation saints are seen in Heaven, Revelation 14:4 says, "These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb." It seems that the Bride of Christ is a KIND of firstfruits, the FIRST of the firstfruits, and that the Tribulation saints are the rest of the firstfruits. In "Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order (tagmati, rank)."

If the FIRST of the firstfruits is represented by the Philadelphian church, the Philadelphians would be the Bride of Christ taken to Heaven Pre-Trib. and the Laodiceans the rest of the Body of Christ taken to Heaven Pre-Wrath. The Philadelphians have a warm loving relationship with Christ, so they win the prize of being chosen as the Bride of Christ and of hearing the upward call first. The Laodiceans are only lukewarm, so Christ rejects them temporarily--"I will speu thee out of my mouth" (Rev. 3:16). This corresponds with the "thou shalt leave them" of Lev. 23:22.

Christ loves the Laodiceans and wants more of them than lukewarmness. He says, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent" (Rev. 3:19). After they repent (i.e., wash their robes in the blood of Christ, Rev. 7:14), he will receive them.

The Philadelphians seem to represent one foot of the Body of Christ, the Laodiceans the other foot. One foot is just born into a new world a little ahead of the other. The first foot is kept from the trial that is to come upon the whole world (Rev. 3:10). It is born into the new world at the first trump (I Thess 4:16), before the Tribulation. The last foot is the last Rapture, which takes place at the "last trump" (I Cor. 15:52), just before the wrath of God is poured out as the Millennium begins. By the time of the last trump, "ALL" (I Cor 15:51) of the firstfruits are in Heaven.

Thus, the first trump would call the Bride of Christ to Heaven on Pentecost and the rest of the Body of Christ to Heaven on the Feast of Trumpets. The Lord told Israel to "Make thee TWO TRUMPETS...that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them (both), ALL the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation (as in I Cor. 15:52). And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads (elders) of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee" (Numbers 10:1-4).

I believe the 24 elders of Rev. 4 are the 12 patriarchs and the 12 apostles. They are the representatives of the believers that assemble in heaven at the "Come up hither" of Rev. 4:1, when the first trump sounds.

When the second trump sounds, "then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth (the Pre-Wrath Rapture) to the uttermost part of heaven" (those who went to heaven in the Pre-Trib Rapture at the first trump), Mark 13:27.

Some people think the Rapture is on Pentecost. Others think it is on the Feast of Trumpets. I think they are both right, that there are two Raptures, the first on Pentecost, the other on the Feast of Trumpets.

Some think the Rapture is Pre-Trib. Others think it is Pre-Wrath. If there are two Raptures, they are both right. The one for the Church saints is Pre-Trib. The one for the Tribulation saints is Pre-Wrath.

The first Rapture is seen in Rev. 4:1. The second in Rev. 7:14. Between them is Rev. 6, which begins with the Beast riding forth as a prince of peace on his white horse, and ends with "the great day of his (the Lamb's) wrath is come."

The second Rapture is on that very day, but before the wrath is poured out. It happens between the sixth seal of Rev. 6:12 and the seventh seal of Rev. 8:1. The wrath is poured out as the seven trumpet judgments begin to sound in Rev. 8:7, after ALL the firstfruits, the Body of Christ, is safe in Heaven by Rev. 7:14.

It is inconceivable that Paul could lose his salvation, yet he was running the race to receive "the prize" and to not be "a castaway." (I Cor. 9:24-27). To me, this indicates that the Philadelphians win the prize of the Pre-Trib Rapture, and the Laodiceans are the castaways. Paul said, "So run that ye may incorruptible" crown. In Rev. 4:4, the elders "had on their heads crowns of gold" and gold is incorruptible. It all fits together.

To the Philadelphians, Jesus said, "Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown." Rev. 14:1-5 shows the Tribulation saints in Heaven, but no crowns are mentioned. However, to the Laodiceans he said, "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne" (Rev. 3:21). His throne is in Heaven (Rev. 22:3).

I can see that you are far above this Doubting Thomas both as a bible scholar and a web page builder. I have been into a lot of things in my 62 years of life, but prophecy is not one of them.

I share, however, your belief that time is quickly running out. God's time clock seems to have picked up speed at the time of WW1, and is now moving forward at terrific speed. I noted with interest that God spoke to you saying "Be still and know that I am God." The only two times that God has spoken to me directly was to say the same thing and to say "Ask of me and I will give you the heathen for an inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for an habitation"

Isn't it wonderful that the internet can reach everywhere?

My reply

As a Bible scholar, this 68 year old has studied very hard since before 1960. As a Web builder, you may be surprised to know that when my husband signed us up for the Internet last September 29, I had never heard of HTML. I had to just go out on the Internet and gather the programs and HTML information I needed. It is all out there. A little hunting will turn it up. I started with the Beginner's Guide to HTML. I use a Mac so I downloaded the first HTML editor for the Mac I found at TUCOWS, BBEdit, and am still using it in spite of getting AOLPress later. For Graphics, I downloaded Graphic Converter and gleaned Color-It from a disk in a library book. I'm learning new things all the time, both from Scripture and about using the computer. I never stop trying to learn. I know next to nothing about Applets and Java, but I don't need those for what I need to accomplish. My counter is an Applet, but my server gave me the code for that; I didn't write it. Whatever limited knowledge I have about building the Web page is at your disposal. All you have to do is ask.

How could you say you are a Doubting Thomas and yet you know the Lord spoke to you? I would think you would be dead certain. I am. I know of three others who have heard the Lord speak to them. One lady who writes to me told me he said to her, "I'm coming in your lifetime." Another lady I know heard, "You will never die." My son David stepped out in his hall and heard the Lord talking to him. He said quite a bit, but the only thing that really stuck in David's mind is that we must be perfect to go in the Rapture.

We must be wearing the white wedding garments to be chosen as the Bride of Christ. This is what we should emphasize today. It makes the difference between being a Philadelphian and being a Laodicean. It makes the difference between being caught up and left behind. For a believer to wear the white garments means that there is no sin barrier between him and God. We should use I John 1:9 and confess our sins so they can be forgiven. Only then are we as wise virgins with our lamps glowing brightly. We are then filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit. We are not like the foolish virgins whose lamps are sputtering, about to go out.

If you have questions about Scripture, please ask. I will do my best to help.

Could you give me a little preview of the Heaven star you mentioned? In the meantime, I'll be looking for your book....I live with two Christian ladies and we were once all in a bible study on end times and remain extremely interested in growing in the Word of God.

My reply

Heaven is another rock. In the Septuagint, Job 38:37,38 says (Who) "is he that numbers the clouds in wisdom, and has bowed the the earth? For it (heaven) is spread out as dusty earth, and I have cemented it as one hewn stone to another."

In Ezekiel's vision, he saw Heaven and said, "And above the firmament (expanse of space) that was over their (the cherubim's, the terrestrial planet's) heads was the likeness of a throne (the Lord's), as the appearance of a sapphire stone (a symbol of Heaven, as the "paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven [heavenly body]" under the Lord's feet at Sinai): and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man (Christ) above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber (it has golden clouds), as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward (actually from the equator upward), and from the appearance of his loins even downward (from the equator downward), I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD" Ezekiel 1:26f.

Heaven is Visible (Job 37:18-22, LXX)
It has Golden Clouds (Job 37:18-22, LXX)
It is the Lord's Throne (Isaiah 66:1)
The Lord's Throne is in New Jerusalem (Revelation 22:3,4)
Heaven Is Called Paradise (II Corinthians 12:2-4)
Heaven is a Sphere (Revelation 21:16)
It is a Planet in Our Solar System ((Psalms 89:36,37)
Heaven is Between Two Other Planets (Psalms 99:1)
It is a Naked-Eye Planet (Psalms 89:36,37)
It Has a Rocky Core (Job 38:37,38, LXX)

My heartfelt thanks to all who like my Web Site. God's wonderful blessings on you all. May we meet at the assembly in Heaven right after the Rapture.

In Christ,
