the LASCO C3 instrument on SOHO uses a mask to blot out direct sunlight. The Sun is the size of the white circle, so this CME is truly enormous.
Ulysses encounters massive coronal ejection from the Sun

On May 10, most of the instruments on board Ulysses recorded their highest readings during the ten and a half years that the spacecraft has been in orbit. The cause was a spectacular coronal mass ejection (CME) which had left the Sun three days previously, heading towards the position in space that Ulysses was occupying at the time.

"Ulysses saw the highest magnetic field and plasma densities it has ever witnessed.

SOHO, the Earth-orbiting ESA-NASA solar observatory, which first recorded the CME as it left the Sun on May 7.
Just released (recent) picture of the Anchor Cross/double anchor, symbol of hope in the Eastern Orthodox Church, in VELA , the sails of the ship ARGO (meaning THE COMPANY OF TRAVELERS). This sign is staying there a long time. We know that the mighty ordering force at work is God. He formed it and is keeping it there so we will not miss it.

Chandra views Vela pulsar

...The Vela pulsar, located in the center of the image (yellow), is considered to be one of Chandra¹s most tantalizing images to date. It reveals a striking, almost unbelievable, structure consisting of bright rings and jets of matter. Such structures indicate that mighty ordering forces must be at work amidst the chaos of the aftermath of a supernova explosion. Forces that can harness the energy of thousands of suns and transform that energy into a tornado of high-energy particles astronomers refer to as a "pulsar wind nebula." (emphasis mine)

The supernova that produced the Vela pulsar and supernova remnant must have appeared extraordinarily bright on Earth, some 50 times brighter than Venus.

Re: Solar Flare
Wow Marilyn! That heart-shaped flare is just awesome!!!!!

I know. I just kept looking at it, and looking at it. I've seen a lot of CMEs come off of the Sun, but none like this. The earlier one like an Anchor Cross was one of a kind too. Agape

I watch Jack Van Impe quite a bit, and according to him a generation is 51.4 yrs. and that would start in 1967 correct?

My reply

In Mt. 23:36, Jesus told the Pharisees in 30 AD, "Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation." They did, in 70 AD. Actually, from Palm Sunday to Av 10, when the temple proper burned, was 40 years plus another 120 days. In our days, from June 7, 1967 (Iyar 28), when the temple area was regained, to Sept. 13, 2007 (Tishri 1, 5768) is 40 years plus another 120 days. I think the count would start in 1967, because Israel grew leaves (Gaza Strip, Golan Heights, Sinai, West Bank) and fulfilled the fig tree parable of Mt. 24:32-34. Agape

Many people have written fantastic treatises, publishing their theories of how there is a church age of 2000 years. All of these people count the 2000 years from the birth of Yeshua (Jesus), as if saying that the church age began when Yeshua was a baby. Yet all will admit that no one was born again by the Holy Spirit until the prophetic fulfillment of Pentecost (Feast of Weeks, or Shavuot), when the Holy Spirit fell on those gathered in the upper room, as a mighty rushing wind and with flames of fire. One might reasonably ask, "why the disconnect in recognizing when the church began by the pouring out of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the church age when counting 2000 years?"

There is of course no defense for the disconnect! We recognize that those who have crafted this misleading device may be well-meaning believers, but with a personal agenda. They want and desire the church age to end when they say. People have fallen into two camps, the earlier ones used 2000 years of 360 days/year (1971 and 108 days of 365/days/year). In which case, the predicted end of the church age was 1972 (1 BC birth) or 1969 (4 BC birth). Since the passage of time proved them wrong, the next camp arose, counting 2000 years of 365.25 days/year. They predict the end of the church age in 1996 (4 BC) or 1999 (1 BC). [Note: 4 BC and 1 BC are the two most agreed upon years for the Messiah Yeshua to have been born, we don't know with 100% certainty. I personally lean toward the 1 BC date.] 1996 has come and gone, so there is a growing group citing 1999. I will tell you ahead of time that 1999 is wrong and the whole framework they're working from is flawed.

One place in which two days are mentioned is the prophecy in Hosea 6:1-2, where each day is rightly understood to mean a 1000 years, as stated in 2 Peter 3:8.

Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the Lord. For he has torn us, but He will heal us; he has wounded us, but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day that we may live before Him.

2 Peter 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

These verses frame the subject of this article; something wonderful is going to happen after the 2 days or 2000 years! The starting point of the count is determined from within Hosea 6:1-2. When Yeshua (Jesus) was performing His ministry on earth, He taught and healed people, but He taught the people of Israel in parables and only taught plainly to the disciples in private. One could jump to the conclusion that the starting point should be the baptism of Yeshua by John, but He hadn't fulfilled the promise of Hosea 6:1-2 at that point. I'm going to show that the starting point for the counting should begin at the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, when people were sealed by God into His kingdom and born again. First, we need to backtrack momentarily to set the time frame.

Sir Robert Anderson calculated the 69 weeks of Daniel 9:24-27, from the decree to rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince. Without going through the calculations myself, because many scholars have done that already, I'll just say that the consensus is that the decree was on March 14, 445 BC, and the 69 weeks of years ended on Sunday, April 6, 32 AD. On the next Sunday, April 13, 32 AD, the resurrection took place to fulfill the Wave Offering of the sheaf. 40 days later on Saturday, May 24, 32 AD, Yeshua (Jesus) ascended into heaven. Finally, June 1, 32 AD, the Holy Spirit was poured out on Pentecost (Shavuot or the Feast of Weeks) to fulfill the prophecy of the Wave Offering of the two loaves from the spring harvest.

Without discussing why the starting point for our discussion of the 2000 years is not the crucifixion day, the resurrection day, or the ascension day of Yeshua, I'll just come out and say that it is when the Holy Spirit was poured out. Israel was bandaged by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (referring to Hosea 6:1-2). A certain amount of Israel were saved, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and changed from the inside out. The prophecy of Hosea 6:1-2 concerns Israel, not the church. Therefore, the rest of that prophecy concerns Israel also, not the church. With our starting point to count from June 1, 32 AD, we can count the 2000 years.

If we count 2000 years with 365.25 days/year with the correction implemented by the Gregorian calendar of leap centuries, we arrive at a date of June 1, 2032 AD. However, I believe that the same system used by Sir Robert Anderson, a prophetic year of 360 days/year is used, then we arrive at a much earlier date.

Multiply 2000 years by 360 and divide that total by 365 and you'll get 1972 years and 220 days. This is equal to 1971 years and 585 days (220+365=585). We need it in that form because we have to correct for leap years and leap centuries. 32 AD was a leap year, so we know that there are 492 leap years in 1971 years, not 493 (1971+32=2003, where 2004 is a leap year). There are 5 leap centuries in that time frame (400, 800, 1200, 1600, & 2000 AD). All of the other century years are not leap years even though they are divisible evenly by 4, this is the crux of the changeover from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar. So, there are 20 century years between 32 AD and 2003 AD, with only 5 of them being leap centuries. Therefore, we have to subtract 15 from our total leap years (20-5=15) to account for leap centuries. Subtract 15 from 492 leap years (492-15=477) giving us a corrected number of leap years of 477. Our final step is to take the 1971 years and 585 days and subtract 477 leap days, because the year is not 365 days/year but closer to 365.25 days/year. 1971 years & 585 days minus 477=1971 years and 108 days.

The 1971 years and 108 days is the correct interval of 2000 years with 360 days/year. If we count from June 1, 32 AD without counting June 1 in 32 AD, we arrive at 17 September 2003 AD. If June 1, 32 AD is counted, then it's 16 September. I believe that you should not count June 1, 32 AD and believe that 17 September 2003 AD is the correct day.

After all of these calculations, what does it all mean? What will occur on September 17, 2003 AD? That is the $64,000 question using a cliché from the 1950's. If you believe it's the end of the church age, then you are likely to view it as the rapture or catching away of the church! However, that's not what the prophecy of Hosea 6:1-2 is all about. I didn't want to write this article, but the Lord told me to, so I'm obeying. This article is likely to draw considerable criticism, but I can take the heat, and criticism is welcomed. After all, we don't learn anything unless we explore the possibilities.

The meaning of the Hosea 6:1-2 prophecy, is that God will revive Israel after two days (2000 years), and then on the third day He will raise up Israel. The important point to note is that the "after two days" is not the exact same day as the "on the third day." If it were, why would God repeat Himself. No, it infers a space of time between the two events. This space of time will take place during the end-times 7 year period. Not that the "after two days" is the peace treaty of prophecy beginning the end-times period, for God has stated that the peace treaty is a treaty with hell and death. (Isaiah 28:15, 18; Psalm 83:5) Also, in an article on the Bible Codes on this site, I've already stated the dates for the end-times scenario based on a number of ancient and modern prophecies. The peace treaty of prophecy will take place in the fall of 2002 AD; but what takes place on September 17, 2003 AD?

After much praying over this subject, I firmly believe that God has told me that on September 17, 2003 AD, the Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem will be dedicated. This fits the scenario of the peace treaty of prophecy taking place in the fall of 2002 AD, where an international treaty will be signed, splitting the Temple Mount for the Jews and Muslims with a wall of separation between the Temple and the Dome of the Rock. September 17, 2003 AD is one year after the peace treaty of prophecy; but will that allow enough time to build the Temple?

Solomon's Temple took 7 years to complete, after they had spent 3 years preparing the timbers and stones for the Temple. (1 Kings 6:1, 38; 8:2, 65; 2 Chronicles 3:2; 5:3; 7:8-10; and Josephus Book 8 Chapter 4).

The 2nd Temple, after the Babylonian captivity, took much longer, because the Jews were forced to quit work on the Temple for a time until King Darius ordered his governors not to hinder the building of the Temple. It was started in the 2nd year and 2nd month of King Cyrus (Ezra 3:8-10) and completed in the 9th year of King Darius, on the 23rd of the 12th month (Adar).

King Herod completely rebuilt the Temple starting in the 18th year of his reign, taking down the old building and laying the foundation for a much bigger and more grand building. The rebuilt Temple of Herod took 1 year and 6 months to build. (Josephus Book 15 Chapter 11:1, 6). That was the Temple in which Yeshua walked in during His earthly ministry.

If King Herod could completely take down and build a new Temple in 1.5 years, why do you doubt that with modern construction equipment, the Temple could not be built in one year? The Temple Institute has been preparing the Temple implements. Various organizations have been collecting donations to build the Temple since the 1970's. Priests and Levites are being trained in a yeshiva for Temple duties. Finally, unsubstantiated rumors have circulated that the stones for the building are/were prepared. Also, groups have been working on engineering drawings for the Temple construction. All that really needs to take place is the go-ahead signal to begin!

It is therefore not out of the realm of possibility given all the facts of Temple preparations, that the Temple could be built and operational in 2003. Therefore, we forward the date of September 17, 2003 AD as the dedication date for the Temple. This date is 10 days before Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) on September 27, 2003 AD.

What about accounting for the biblical day in the Jewish calendar running from evening to evening? That's a good point! Actually, I'd like to expand our September 17, 2003 AD date to run from the evening of the 16th to the evening of the 18th of September in 2003 AD, to account for the day running from evening to evening.

Why would Israel be revived by dedicating the Temple, in order to fulfill the Hosea 6:1-2 prophecy? Israel would be spiritually revived, by God in His mercy accepting the sacrificial offerings at the rebuilt 3rd Temple. After all, in many places in scripture, God Himself calls this 3rd Temple, the Temple of God.

Revelation 11:1-2 And there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, "Rise and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those who worship in it. And leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months."

Joel chapters one and two are entirely about the Great Tribulation period. Note what the Temple is called there.

Joel 1:9 The grain offering and the libation are cut off from the house of the Lord.

Joel 1:13 Gird yourselves with sackcloth, and lament, O priests; wail, O ministers of the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, O ministers of my God, for the grain offering and the libation are withheld from the house of your God.

God our Father calls this rebuilt 3rd Temple, His House, and the Temple of God. This should in no way threaten Christians, if God in His mercy chooses to accept the sacrifices and offerings of Jewish people at the rebuilt Temple. It does nothing to threaten the salvation and place you have as a born-again child of God.

In summary, the 3rd Temple will be built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and dedicated between the evening of the 16th and the evening of the 18th of September in 2003 AD. Whether it is a one day dedication, or whether the dedication period runs through Rosh Hashanah 10 days later is unknown. We have much to look forward to in the next 10 years.

I invite critical comments concerning this article, or even for those so inclined, positive comments. May God my Father greatly bless you with wisdom and understanding and His presence in your life.

I thought you might want to respond to this in your "spare time". No, of course I don't believe what he's saying, and yes, I can justify my position Biblically, much because of your prodigious output over the years. But, it would be an interesting article. Agape

My reply

A discussion of who said this and who said that is putting the emphasis on what people say instead of what God says. That kind of smokescreen may be to hide the fact that he didn't explain one Scripture in defense of his position. People can be wrong. So what if no one understood that there was to be a Pre-Trib Rapture and a Pre-Wrath Rapture until our days? Building a case for any doctrine without Scripture is just asking for "BEING DECEIVED."

I don't have any of the books he mentioned, but I do have Pseudo-Ephraim's approximately-1500-word sermon "On the Last Times, the Antichrist, and the End of the World" in Latin and in English, translated by Cameron Rhoades, instructor of Latin at Tyndale Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX.

It is divided into 10 sections, and the information progresses chronologically from his day to when he thought the end of the world would be. In the 2nd sentence, he said, "We have already told you that the end of the world is near, the consummation remains." Because of wickedness, wars, "kingdom rising against kingdom," etc., he thought that the end of the age was going to come upon them right away. The emphasis below is mine.

Section 2 starts out, "We ought to understand thoroughly therefore, my brothers, WHAT IS IMMINENT OR OVERHANGING. Already there have been hunger and plagues, violent movements of nations and SIGNS, WHICH HAVE BEEN PREDICTED BY THE LORD, THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN FULFILLED (CONSUMMATED), and there is not other which remains, except the advent of the wicked one in the completion of the Roman kingdom....Why therefore do we not reject every care of earthly actions and PREPARE OURSELVES FOR THE MEETING OF THE LORD CHRIST, SO THAT HE MAY DRAW US FROM THE CONFUSION, which overwhelms all the world? Believe you me, dearest brother, because THE COMING (ADVENT) OF THE LORD IS NIGH, believe you me, because THE END OF THE WORLD IS AT HAND, believe me, because IT IS THE VERY LAST TIME. Or do you not believe unless you see with your eyes? See to it that this sentence be not fulfilled among you of the prophet who declares: "Woe to those who desire to see the day of the Lord!" FOR ALL THE SAINTS AND ELECT OF GOD ARE GATHERED, PRIOR TO THE TRIBULATION THAT IS TO COME, AND ARE TAKEN TO THE LORD LEST THEY SEE THE CONFUSION THAT IS TO OVERWHELM THE WORLD BECAUSE OF OUR SINS. And so, brothers most dear to me, it is the eleventh hour, and the end of the world comes to the harvest, and angels, armed and prepared, hold sickles in their hands, awaiting the empire of the Lord."

To me, it seems clear there that the author understood that there would be a Rapture before the Tribulation.

In Section 3, he listed things like earthquakes, plagues and famine, that would come "When therefore the end of the world comes." In Section 4, he mentions people hiding "themselves from the wars in the mountains and rocks, by caves and caverns of the earth." Section 5 says that "Whenever the days of the times of those nations have been fulfilled...Then that worthless and abominable dragon shall appear, he, whom Moses named in Deuteronomy, saying:-Dan is a young lion, reclining and leaping from Basan." Section 6 says, "When therefore the end of the world comes, that abominable, lying and murderous one is born from the tribe of Dan." He mentions "that a wolf lies concealed under the appearance of a lamb."

Section 7 is what I call Mid-Trib. He says, "But when the time of the abomination of his desolation begins to approach, having been made legal, he takes the empire...Therefore, when he receives the kingdom, he orders the temple of God to be rebuilt for himself, which is in Jerusalem; who, after coming into it, he shall sit as God and order that he be adored by all nations...Then the Jews shall congratulate him, because he gave them again the practice of the first covenant...and the holy city shall be trampled on by the nations for forty-two months."

Section 8 is about "these three years and a half." There "will be no rain upon the earth...there will be a great tribulation, as there has not been, since people began to be upon the earth, and there will be famine and an insufferable thirst." He speaks of "the serpentine sign on the forehead or on the hand" and "those who wander through the deserts, fleeing from the face of the serpent." In Section 9, we find "he sends to them consolatory proclamation by his attendants, the prophets Enoch and Elijah., who, while not yet tasting death, are the servants for the heralding of the second coming of Christ, and in order to accuse the enemy."

The whole Section 10, the last one, says, "And when the three and a half years have been completed, the time of the Antichrist, through which he will have seduced the world, after the resurrection of the two prophets, in the hour which the world does not know, and on the day which the enemy of son of perdition does not know, will come THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN, and coming forward the Lord shall appear with great power and much majesty, with the sign of the wood of salvation going before him, and also even with all the powers of the heavens with the whole chorus of the saints, with those who bear the sign of the holy cross upon their shoulders, as the angelic trumpet precedes him, which shall sound and declare: ARISE, O SLEEPING ONES, ARISE, MEET CHRIST, BECAUSE HIS HOUR OF JUDGMENT HAS COME! THEN CHRIST SHALL COME and the enemy shall be thrown into confusion, and the Lord shall destroy him by the spirit of his mouth. And he shall be bound and shall be plunged into the abyss of everlasting fire alive with his father Satan; and all people, who do his wishes, shall perish with him forever; but the righteous ones shall inherit everlasting life with the Lord forever and ever."

He seems to be talking about the last rank in the First Resurrection. I think that is part of the story, that there will be a Pre-Wrath Rapture, which includes living saints and those resurrected from the dead.

The orderly progression of his sermon is well laid out. It places the Rapture in Section 2 "prior to the tribulation that is to come." Whoever wrote it, and whenever he wrote it, he understood that the Bible taught this. He understood what Dave MacPherson is blinded to.

Thomas Ice said, "One of the most vocal and sensational critics of the rapture is Dave MacPherson, who argues that, "during the first 18 centuries of the Christian era, believers were never 'Rapture separaters' [sic]; they never separated the minor Rapture aspect of the Second Coming of Christ from the Second Coming itself."

Whether anyone understood it or not doesn't change what the Bible says. From I Thess. 4:13-18, we know WHAT will take place. Christ will "descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS, TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR." From Rev. 1:10, 4:1f, 5:9, we can see that John, the other 23 elders and those who are "out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" are in Heaven when Christ is given the "book," the Title Deed of the Earth. Not one seal is broken to start the Tribulation until Rev. 6. Agape

Re: Isaiah 40:31
I had some aggravation from the world system recently. That evening I was sitting alone in front of my television with a Christian channel on that shows pastoral scenes with Bible verses. I sighed, "Lord I sure do wish You would come this year". (I am one of the ones that has been anticipating almost yearly since 1988.) I looked at the television and there was the verse that said "Those that hope in the Lord shall renew their strength. . .". I thought that was kind of neat.

Tell me, do you think the rest of that verse talks about the redemption of the body at the Rapture; where it says "they shall walk and not faint, they shall run and not be weary"? Thanks

My reply

Isa. 40:31 says, "they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." That seems to apply to those that are raptured. Lu. 17:37 says, "they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body (soma, i.e., the Body of Christ) is (in Heaven), thither will the EAGLES (Tribulation saints, for this is as the days of Lot, v. 28) be gathered together."
