Re: attachment viruses
I am commenting on ONLY viruses born by attachments, particularly Microsoft documents.

By all means, maintain a good virus scanner, keep it updated, and use it.

There is, however, a simple technique for neutralizing attachment born viruses. Set your RUN AS options to start Microsoft documents and whatever else you feel appropriate in a file viewing program such as Quickview Plus from Jasc software. This is the best alternative, but it costs about $50.

The free alternative is to set RUN AS to WORDPAD for Microsoft documents.

And the best alternative of all is to not accept attachments, period.

You are far more vulnerable to these attacks than most of us. If I were you, I would put a conspicuous statement on your home page to the effect that attachments are not accepted, period. Agape

My reply

Thanks much. I can't find RUN AS. I think your idea of putting a notice up front is my best way. I'd rather have a URL to go to or have everything Copy and Pasted into the e-mail document. Agape

Signs in the heavens!! "Trumpet bell shaped"! Love
Meteor Shower Reports Abound Along East Coast,By David Morgan

7-23-01 PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Reports of a possible meteor shower flooded police and government telephone lines along the U.S. East Coast on Monday, authorities said.

The sightings of what some described as a fast-moving meteor prompted evening rush-hour motorists to pull off suburban highways west of Philadelphia.

Pilots in flight issued reports of similar sightings to federal aviation officials in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. Authorities said eyewitness accounts came from upstate New York to Virginia....
A Reuters reporter saw a tapered object shaped like a trumpet bell falling diagonally through the western sky near West Chester, Pennsylvania, 20 miles from Philadelphia, at about 6:20 p.m.

The object emitted a lustrous rainbow of colors, ranging from bright yellow on its downward-pointing flared end to light green and finally rust-colored red at the upward-pointing tapered end.

Others reported seeing a triangular object or a fireball shooting through the sky.

Re: This is most unusual for a falling object
You would think a falling object would have a trail fanning out behind and above it. This object fell tail first. Seems to defy the laws of physics.

about a dozen articles about a spectacular "show" in the heavens (with sound effects!) from Washington DC to NY! Please comment on the possibility of this being the beginning of such things, as meteors whiz by us at close range. And these seemed to be coming from the East! Are we getting CLOSE, or WHAT?! Look up! "Breathless on the East Coast"

Whew! that sure got people's attention. It demonstrates that these things can hit us, maybe so people will understand that Rev. 8:8,10 is talking about asteroids, probably a binary that breaks apart at the Roche Limit, about 11,000 miles out. That might release a shower of stones weighing about 100 pounds each. I sure wouldn't want to be near their strike zones.

Jer. 23:18-20 says, "who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider (biyn, understand) it perfectly."

When this was written, no one knew about asteroids, but in our days we can understand it perfectly. It seems that the whirlwind will be used to cause the asteroid to hit Earth at the right time, the right place, and at an angle that will not split it apart like Satan's planet. That's a tricky maneuver. Agape

There is a new book out: "No one knows the day or hour, but some will" by Naphtali Ben Tevakh at the following site: Your E-Bookstore ( I thought you and your readers might find its contents to be enlightening.
RABBIS CALL FOR MASS VISITS TO THE TEMPLE MOUNT The Rabbinical Council of Judea, Samaria and Gaza yesterday called on all rabbis to bring their communities to visit the Temple Mount - "in accordance with halakha (religious law)" - and it urged the Israel public to do the same, Ha'aretz newspapaer reported.

This is the first time a group of rabbis representing a substantial segment of the religious Zionist public has ruled it is permissible for Jews to ascend the Temple Mount, as long as certain areas are avoided. Most leading Torah sages have ruled that Jews are not allowed on the mount at all, lest they accidentally tread on the sites to which they would have been forbidden entry when the Temple was standing....

Blessings to you and Ed, Marilyn. I pray you are blessed and prospering even as your soul prospers. The King is coming soon.

Here is a new take on the "king of the south". P&C 778 referred to the "king of the south" as being Egypt. Is there any validity to this message about Africa?

DANIEL 11:5 "Also the king of the South shall become strong, as well as one of his princes; and he shall gain power over him and have dominion. His dominion shall be a great dominion. 11:6 "And at the end of some years they shall join forces, for the daughter of the king of the South shall go to the king of the North to make an agreement; but she shall not retain the power of her authority, and neither he nor his authority shall stand; but she shall be given up, with those who brought her, and with him who begot her, and with him who strengthened her in those times.

Of many bewildering passages in the book of Daniel, this one has I believe, caused most theologians to scratch their heads. A look at an atlas will reveal that the countries directly to the south of Israel are Jordan and Saudi Arabia. It is hard to envisage these countries getting armies together on a scale as described by Daniel.

There is, however a great dominion in its embryonic stage of evolution, which lies south of Israel, called The African Union, AU.

Yesterday in Lusaka, Zambia, The old OAU was disbanded and replaced by the AU. It has the backing of most of the countries in Africa; it also has the backing of Islam nations in the Middle East. When completely implemented, it will run on the lines of the European Union EU. It will focus the trading might of Africa; the mineral wealth of Africa alone, with its gold, diamonds, uranium and oil reserves could hold this world to ransom. A common currency is to be utilized by the AU and will in all probability be called the Afro. The fighting force that a combined African initiative could put together boggles the mind; they are also pretty seasoned to wars; Africans have been warring somewhere on this great continent since time immemorial.

True Christianity is not the favored religion in Africa, Islam is by far. Anti-Semitism, which was virtually unheard of in South Africa some years ago, is gaining more and more support. Africans have, and are adopting a replacement theology, which will eventually water down the Gospel to a point where it will not even be tasted. Ancestral worship is quite acceptable here now amongst our Black Christians. Nobel laureate, Archbishop Desmond Tutu advocates, “We all serve the same god” and refers to Muslims as “his brothers” in the faith.

Mugabe of Zimbabwe has entered into an unholy alliance with the Muslim anti-Christ,

for a few million lousy dollars. I wonder what great missionaries like Livingston and Moffat would say if they were alive today?

God’s plan is coming together at an ever-alarming speed. The Kingdom of the north (theE U) is in place, so too Gog and Magog (Russia). Israel is restored and Jerusalem, the fig tree, is about to blossom. The Jews are returning to Israel in their thousands from around the world, drawn like a moth to the flame. Jesus Christ could come for His true church at anytime now; are you ready for Him?

Those with eyes to see let them see, and those with ears to hear let them hear. Yours In His Name, Alf Hutchison

My reply

Thanks for sending me this information. I hadn't heard about the AU.

> > A look at an atlas will reveal that the countries directly to the south of Israel are Jordan and Saudi Arabia

Maybe Hutchison meant to say that Jordan and Saudi Arabia are east of Israel. He could be right about the AU. I don't know, but it sounds reasonable.

The king of the south of Dan. 11:5,9,11,14 has already been fulfilled. When we get to v. 21, Antiochus Epiphanes comes into view. He seems to have acted out what will be true of the False Prophet in the Tribulation. In verses 21 through 34, "they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the ABOMINATION that maketh desolate." That will be fulfilled twice, in Antiochus' day and in the Great Tribulation. When we get to v. 35, it overleaps the centuries to the end of this age. From v. 35 on, it is mainly talking about the False Prophet.

Just because the king of the south was Egypt before doesn't mean that it can't be the African Union during the Tribulation. Egypt is in Africa. Maybe she would join the Union too. The prophecies seem to be fulfilled the first time in a small way. Then in the end-times, fulfilled in a greater way.

In Dan. 11:40, we see the end-time kings of the north and south, "And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over."

In Dan. 11:36, the word "indignation" is a bit stronger than it sounds to our ears. In the original, it is "zaam," froth at the mouth anger, rage. The verse says, "the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the INDIGNATION be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done." I sure wouldn't want to be in his shoes. He will get zaamed all right.

At the end, he has God against him, the king of the north against him and the king of the south against him, and that isn't all. Tidings "out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many...yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him" (Dan. 11:44,45). He should know that God always wins. Agape

Incoming e-mail with my interspersed opinions marked ***

I sent this e-mail back in May and it seems to have been mislaid in the excitement of that time. This composite of ensamples seems to highlight the present time and especially Passover 2008. Again Blessings to You and Yours

A couple of years ago Charles Capps preached at our church on "Signposts to Eternity". He highlighted the days we are living in as 'The near return' times, and gave the following 'ensamples'.In hindsight they seem to confirm some of your thoughts on years and this period of time that we live in.

The last days will be 2000 years (Heb 1: God who in sundry times and diverse manners, spake in times past unto our fathers through the prophets, has in these LAST DAYS spoken to us by His Son...(How long has he been speaking to us by His Son.?)...2000 Yrs...or 2 days, and the Day of The Lord will be 1000 years of Millenial reign.

***I think the Bible is basically about a 7000-year span of time, but there are some exceptions. The 7000 years do not seem to include Adam's time in the Garden (40 years of probation and testing) or the "ends" of the ages (the 70th week of Daniel/Tribulation). I Cor. 10:11 says, "all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom THE ENDS of the world (aionos, ages) are come."

***The 7000 years are man's test being mortal and knowing both good and evil. I think they started when Adam was cast out of the Garden in BC 4004/4003 (40 AH, year of man; 243 BJC, before Jewish Calendar). There are three 2000-year ages, the Age of the Gentiles, the Age of the Jews and the Age of the Church. It seems that the 70th week of Daniel 9:27 is not only a time of trial for the Jews, but a time of testing "which shall come upon ALL THE WORLD, to try them that dwell upon the earth" (Rev. 3:10). It is "THE ENDS" of all three ages.

***I think this age began when the wise men brought gifts that showed that Jesus was both priest and king in BC 3. He was about 2 years old then and living in a house. Mt. 2:8,11 says, "Go and search diligently for the young child...when they were come into the HOUSE, they saw the young child (not an infant) with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh." Herod had the male children 2 and under killed in Bethlehem.

***Heb. 1:2 literally says that God "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by (en, in) his Son)." It seems reasonable that God has been speaking to man in his Son from when Jesus learned to speak when he was 2.

Taking 'a day for The Lord is as 1000 yrs' he sighted the following from...

Genesis.......on second day He separated the waters below from the waters above...(waters a type of salvation a foreshadowing of separation of salvation by works (waters below) as against the born again salvation ( waters above) ...... through the Covenant with Abraham ....2000 yrs after Adam, ...sealed by Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his 'son of promise' ...who was a foreshadowing of God's 'Son of Promise" being sent to be our Sacrifice for sin and the law, bring us the 'waters from above'.

***In Gen. 1:6,7, God made an expanse of space to separate waters on Earth from "waters which were above the firmament (expanse of space)." I think the upper waters froze into ice crystals and formed Saturn's rings. Eze. 1:28 describes them "As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about." This brightness is around the sapphire throne (v. 26). Sapphire means dear to the planet Saturn, from the Sanskrit Sani, Saturn, and priya, dear. On Earth, the Israelites circled Mt. Sinai to picture this for us.

Mankind was spiritually dead under the sin just as Lazarus, a type of mankind, was dead in the grave, bound in the religious constriction of the grave clothes ..... But , just as Jesus waited 2 days to come to release Lazarus from death, He waited 2000yrs (2 Days), from the time of Abraham's new covenant in embryonic form, before he came to complete the composite picture that God gave us thru the second day of creation and the Covenant with Abraham.

***John 11:6,7,17 says, "When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode TWO DAYS still in the same place where he was. Then AFTER THAT saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again....Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave FOUR DAYS already (ede, by this time)." There are two days, then two more days. That fits the Age of the Gentiles (2000 years) and the Age of the Jews (2000 years). On Resurrection Day, some OT saints came out of their graves, were seen in Jerusalem, and were taken to Heaven that same day. "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose" (Mt. 27:52).

.....on the fourth day God created the 'greater light' and the 'lesser light'....... four thousand years later came the 'Sun of Righteousness', and the Church was born becoming the 'lesser light' (like the moon) to reflect his Light in this age of (night) darkness.

......Towards the end of the Sixth day God created Mankind, Six days God laboured, the Seventh day He rested, so this could be seen of a composite drawing showing that God is going to deal with man for 6000 years.....

2 Days (2000yrs.) from Adam to Abraham
2 Days (2000yrs.) from Abraham to Christ
2 Days (6000yrs.) for the Church Age to the Millenium

***I think the 6000 years of man's test being mortal and knowing both good and evil ended in 5758 (1997/1998). Maybe the 4 years of the parable of the barren fig tree began then (Lu. 13:6-9). 5758 + 4 = 5762, which starts Sept. 18, 2001. Our time here seems short. I think the 2nd Rapture is on Tishri 1, 5768. Maybe the 1st Rapture is also on Tishri 1.

In the desert The Israelites were sent Manna "from heaven'....our Manna from Heaven is The Lord Jesus Christ, The Word ...God's Revelation to us.... Each day they were told to only collect enough manna for the day , but on the SIXTH DAY to collect enough for TWO DAYS..... 'Give us this day our daily bread' ..... so at the end of 6 days (6000yrs), we are to collect enough revelation to last us into the millenium.... knowledge (revelation) will increase in these end times.

.... Luke Chapter 13...The parable ( parables are God's way of revealing secrets that have been kept from the foundations of the world Matt 13) ....of the Good Samaritan brings us another composite picture of God's revelation as all of the elements are in place here, ....The certain man (type of mankind created by God), went down from Jerusalem (type of Heaven) to Jericho (type of wicked world) fell among theives stripped wounded ....A priest (type of Law)... came and could not help (he too was spiritally dead) ... then came a levite (type of animal sacrifice) couldn't help either....Then came Samaritan (type of Christ) helped to dress his wounds with oil and wine (type of new birth), took him to an inn (type of church) and took care of him... The next day... when HE DEPARTED.... (type of Ascension to Heaven), he left 2 PENCE ( 2 DAYS wages) with the innkeeper (type of Holy Spirit) until his return. He will return 2 DAYS (2000yrs) after He departed.

***30 AD + 2000 = 2030 AD. I think he will return in 2008.

.... At the Feast of Passover, Mary and Joseph left Jesus behind in Jerusalem (were without Him) for 1 DAY and returned for 1 DAY
..... (2 DAYS in all) and found Him in the Temple on the THIRD DAY ....Mary and Joseph are a type of Israel, and they are seen without Jesus for 2000 Yrs., finding him in the Temple on the THIRD DAY'.

***If the third 2000 year period ended in 1998, Jesus will be found in the Temple after the next millennium has started.

... Jesus at this time was 12 years old , and if He was born in 4 BC The above events would have occurred in 8 AD.... It is very interesting to add 2000 yrs,(2 days) to this as you come out with 2008 passover.... is that April 6 2008... that date seems familiar !!!

***I think Jesus was born in BC 5 and visited the temple when 12 in 8 AD. 12 - 5 + 1 (no zero year) = 8 AD. April 6, 2008 is Nisan 1, the first day of the Jewish Regnal Year, a perfect time for the King of Kings to return. It is also a Sacred Year, a perfect time for our High Priest to come. It is also a Sabbatic Year, perfect time for the millennial Day of the Lord to begin, and a Jewish Leap Year, necessary for there to be 7 months between Tishri 1 and Nisan 1 (Eze. 39:12,13).

There was a lot more than this but the above are certainly good examples of 'ensamples, types and parallels, and seem to confirm that we are very close to the ' Great Hope' being fulfilled. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.....

Re.. Chad Harvey, 'when is this going to stop'....could he have been listening to 'Another Gospel' about which the Body is warned, to distract us from 'WATCHING and WAITING....Almost sounded like preterist views.....

***By now, I can't remember what he said. However, I wonder how in the world preterists can think that all the prophecies were fulfilled in 70 AD. When was the worldwide earthquake of Eze. 38:20? When did Christ's feet stand on the Mt. of Olives and the Mt. split in half (Zech. 14:5)? When did the mountain burning with fire strike the Mediterranean Sea (Rev. 8:8)? When did it destroy Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod and Ekron (Zeph. 2:4,5)? When was Babylon destroyed by a stone like a millstone (Rev. 18:21; 8:10)? Where is the peace that the Prince of Peace will bring to Earth (Isa. 66:12)?

***The Preterests think Jesus fulfilled Dan. 9:24f. Verse 24 hasn't even all been fulfilled. It says that the 70 weeks are "to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins." Why do we have to lock our cars, garages, stores and houses, if sins are ended? Dan. 9:26 says, "after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off (karath, killed) but not for himself: and the PEOPLE OF THE PRINCE THAT SHALL COME SHALL DESTROY THE CITY AND THE SANCTUARY." The people of Jesus are Jews. Did Jews burn Jerusalem and the temple? NO! It was done by Romans under the leadership of Titus. It is the ROMAN PRINCE THAT SHALL COME that will "confirm the covenant with many for one week. It is the the ROMAN PRINCE THAT SHALL COME that "shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease" and shall place the abomination of desolation at the temple.

***I think this ROMAN PRINCE THAT SHALL COME will be called a Roman and the Pontifex Maximus, even if he is not originally from Rome. The present Pope was originally from Poland. There is no world empire after Rome in the statue Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream. The so-called Holy Roman Empire was "as it were wounded to death", but "his deadly wound was healed" (Rev. 13:3). The Roman power over the world has continued on to our days as Ecclesiastic Rome. Rev. 13:3 may also be fulfilled by the Beast at the time that the False Prophet takes over the Beast's duties.

Looking forward to your views on the above thoughts. God Bless you all. Agape

Re: Babylon
In one of your most recent P and Cs (779?) you state that Babylon is on the banks of the Euphrates river. Babylon used to be on the banks of the Euphrates, but with silt deposits over the centuries it is now a land-locked city with the Euphrates several miles to the west. Unless Babylon becomes re-situated or the river rechanneled to bring it back through the city it will not be "on the banks of the Euphrates".

Baghdad is on the banks of the Tigris which joins the Euphrates River to the south of Baghdad at Basra, Iraq. I've been to Iraq a few times and once had a picnic with my friends just outside of Babylon, which then was in ruins, in the midst of wheat fields and date palms planted along the banks of a channel nearby. This small irrigation channel may have been diverted from the Euphrates, but it is not sufficiently large enough to be categorized as being the Euphrates River, the main body of which is to the west. Nevertheless, God is powerful enough to change all of this before Jesus comes, which I fervently hope is very soon. God bless you

Re: It has to be soon
For those who question whether we are close to the rapture, they should think a little more closely on the importance of Matthew 24:33

After all of the prophecies Jesus described earlier in the chapter, He now says when you see these signs you will KNOW He is at the door.

When more than now could we ever be able to say we KNOW His return is near? Certainly not, before 1948. How about the unknown time in future that so many keep believing in? I have always used this example to show it is not possible to be very far off.

Lets say the current signs really don't mean anything and Christ does not come for decades or even centuries from now. How could anyone in the year 2225, ever be able to say that they know Christ's return is near? The signs could not be any more complete then than they are now, so skeptics then, need only look back to 2001 and say "if it didn't happen then, what is so special about now that makes you KNOW He is coming soon?"

You can only KNOW He is coming soon once.

My reply

Mt. 24:33 says, "when ye shall see all these things KNOW (ginosko, to know absolutely, be sure, understand) that it (the kingdom of God, Luke 21:31) is near, even at the DOORS." Since the "open door" is set before the Philadelphians in Rev. 3:8, door is a symbol of a Rapture. Here the word is plural, reflecting that there are 2 Raptures, Pre-Trib and Pre-Wrath. The same word for KNOW is used in Mark 13:28,29 and Luke 21:29-31.

Current events are so clearly fulfilling prophecy that many people now realize that the Rapture is near. The Internet is a quick way to keep abreast of the news out of Israel. I'm sure glad I can access it each night. Agape
