I surmise that the mid-trib will be in the early Spring as a mockery to the Passover. But my view is enhanced if the translation of winter in this verse would be cold weather.
Jesus was talking to disciples, believers. In Mt. 24:19-22, he said, "woe unto THEM (Tribulation saints) that are with child, and to them that give suck in THOSE DAYS! But PRAY YE (disciples) that YOUR FLIGHT (the Pre-Trib Rapture) be NOT IN THE WINTER, NEITHER ON THE SABBATH DAY: For THEN (on a winter Sabbath) shall be GREAT TRIBULATION (last part of the 70th week of Dan. 9:27), such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."
In Luke 21:36, Jesus commands believers to "Watch ye therefore, and PRAY always, that ye may be accounted worthy to ESCAPE (ekpheugo, to vanish; i.e., at the Pre-Trib Rapture) all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (as in the Preview of the Rapture, Rev. 1:13,20).
In Mat 24:20, Jesus commands believers, "PRAY ye that your flight be NOT IN THE WINTER, NEITHER ON THE SABBATH DAY." Therefore, it looks like the Rapture will not be on a Sabbath or in the winter, but the Great Tribulation, last part of Daniel's 70th week, will start on a winter Sabbath.
Winter is Strong's 5494 - cheimon, (to pour; akin to the base of 5490 through the idea of a channel), meaning a storm (as pouring rain); by implication, the rainy season, i.e. winter:--tempest, foul weather, winter.
From Mt. 24:20,21, it looks like the Great Tribulation will start on a Sabbath day in the winter. This would be the day the Satan-possessed False Prophet would sit in the temple "shewing himself that he is God" (II Thess. 2:4).
I checked all 1260-day blocks ending on a winter Sabbath in 2006 and found 3 beginning dates that were very interesting, Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 15, the Feast of Tabernacles, and Tishri 22, the 8th day of Tabernacles.
(1) If the Tribulation starts Saturday, September 7, 2002 (Tishri 1, 5763, the Feast of Trumpets), the 1260 days the two witnesses prophesy (Rev. 11:3) would end Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 (Shevat 20, 5766), a winter Sabbath. Wow, Feb. 18 is my brother's birthday.
(2) Saturday, September 21, 2002 (Tishri 15, 5763, the Feast of Tabernacles), plus 1260 days is Saturday, March 4, 2006 (Adar 4, 5766), a winter Sabbath.
(3) Saturday, September 28, 2002 (Tishri 22, 5763, the 8th day of Tabernacles), plus 1260 days is Saturday, March 11, 2006 (Adar 11, 5766), a winter Sabbath.
If the Tribulation starts on Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets (September 7, 2002), the Pre-Trib Rapture could take place on the previous day, September 6, 2002, the Eve of Trumpets.
In the beginning of this "kosmos," orderly arrangement of things, the Lord created Adam, then put him in a deep sleep while he took a rib that became Eve out of his body. She was his bride and the mother of all living. The correlation in our days could be that the Bride of Christ would be taken out of the Body of Christ on the same day of the week, Friday. God rested on Saturday, and we will rest after the Rapture. Psa. 149:5 says of the saints who sing the new song, "Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds."
The Sign of the End of the Age was when Israel grew leaves in the Six-Day War of 1967. 1967 + a 40-year generation = 2007.
The Olso Accords were signed Sept. 13, 1993. They were ratified in Israel 3 days later, on Tishri 1, 5754, the Feast of Trumpets. Sept. 13, 1993 + 7 good years (as when Joseph was in Egypt) is Sept. 13, 2000. Adding the 7 bad years brings us to Sept. 13, 2007. If we start with Tishri 1, 5754, and add 7 good years, we come to Tishri 1, 5761. Adding the 7 bad years brings us to Tishri 1, 5768, which is also Sept. 13, 2007.
Jacob (supplanter), named Israel (a prince with God) by the Lord, went to Joseph (he shall add) in the 2nd of the bad years, when there were yet 5 years of famine. JACOB WENT TO EGYPT IN THE 2ND BAD YEAR. "For these TWO YEARS (i.e., 2001 and 2002) hath the famine (bad years) been in the land: and YET THERE ARE FIVE YEARS (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007), in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, AND to save your lives by A GREAT DELIVERANCE" (pleytah, ESCAPE, as in the YLT, i.e., type of THE RAPTURE) (Gen 45:6,7).
Joseph was a type of Christ. He was despised by his brethren. He was put in a pit in the ground and taken up to act out death and resurrection. When he sent for Jacob, he said not to worry about bringing anything with the family, that all the good things of Egypt were theirs. Joseph saved all his family, as Christ saves us.
From Sat., Feb. 18, 2006, to Thur., Sept. 13, 2007 is 572 days. This would shorten the Great Tribulation by 688 days. Agape
Two interesting articles are below, but first look at the shape of the stain on the white stone on the wailing wall. Then look at a similar shape that shows up on the face of the shroud. It starts at the crown of thorns, runs down over the middle of the face and ends below the chin. The sides of the face are much darker than this lighter section.
The features of the hands actually contain an x-ray of the bones, not only in the fingers, but in the palms as well.
Dr. Whanger concluded that the images on the cloth had to be produced by some kind of internal radiation from within the body....
The only logical conclusion at this point is the Shekinah or primeval light from a higher dimension entered this earthly realm and imparted life back into the dead flesh and bones – the body that had been drained of its blood.
The shroud caught the moment and photographically recorded the evidence of the resurrection.
...Dr. Alan Whanger, of Duke University, developing a special technique using polarized lenses to study the shroud, has found the Greek letters for "Nazareth" apparently photographed into the fibers of the cloth!
The letters appear to be from the title board that was placed above Jesus' head on the cross....It seems that the sign was laid beside the left leg of our Savior at burial, and was under the shroud at the time the image was formed on the fibers of the shroud.
Dr. Whanger says, "Helena, mother of Constantine the Great, went to Jerusalem in the early fourth century to search for the Holy places. She reportedly found the tomb with objects in it, including the titulus with the words, 'Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews' in three languages – Hebrew, Greek and Latin. She divided the board, sending one to Constantinople, and taking the other to Rome where it presently resides in the 'Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem.'"
...Amazingly, Dr. Whanger found that its letters match those found on the shroud. Now we know. The "crucified man" has been identified!
Their research led them to a genetic material in the human cell called "mitochondrial DNA." These are rod like structures that reside outside the nucleus, and are responsible for supplying the energy that drives the cell's various activities.
DNA inside the nucleus is made up of a combined genetic material from both a mother and a father, and, therefore, changes in every generation. However, Mitochondrial DNA is inherited only from one's mother and does not change. Their find proves that we all came from the same mother – one original mother – Eve!...Her Mitochondrial DNA makes the history of the human race so simple. And evolutionists are at a loss to refute it.
We had been subject to many evangelists when we first started attending a Baptist Church. My brothers, sister and I were all teen-agers. We attended the youth group Bible study which was on the book of Revelation. The first movies on the rapture had just been coming out. AND it seemed to me, that every evangelist that came had a different prayer to be used to be saved.
What was I to do. I had prayed their prayers just in case I had said it wrong or maybe hadn't done it quite right- I couldn't take the chance that maybe I hadn't done it right. It tormented me and at off times when I was home alone, I'd get this hot rush, maybe the rapture had happened and I was left behind.
In God's timing, after I had struggled with this on my own for quite awhile, when I was in the midst of a panic, His thoughts came to me and I have never doubted since. It doesn't mean that other evangelists or preachers have not tried to get me to doubt God's power and His ability to save, it's just that I now understand that the faith that can save a person cannot even come from oneself, but must come from God himself through Christ- Gal 2:20- I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me and gave himself for me. It's not whether I did it right or said the right prayer, it is all God who does the drawing, who does the saving who does the convicting. Then ones knows he is spiritual saved because he can understand that which is spiritual as I Cor. 2:9-14 shows.
Had I known this as a teenager, I wouldn't have had any doubts, but God used those doubts to bring me to the point where He could give me a special promise. -My father will be 80 this year, another reason the rapture can't be too far away. PTL. Thanks for your help once again
After accepting Christ, we need to tell someone. Rom 10:9,10 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Agape
Isaiah 53:5 - "But he was wounded for our transgressions."
Isaiah 53:6 - "...and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Isaiah 53:8 - "...for the transgression of my people was he stricken."
Isaiah 53:10 "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him, he hath put him to grief: WHEN THOU SHALT MAKE HIS SOUL AN OFFERING FOR SIN, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand."
Isaiah 53:11 "He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; FOR HE SHALL BEAR THEIR INIQUITIES."
Isaiah 53:12 "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the trangressors; AND HE BARE THE SIN OF MANY, and made intercession for the transgressors."
Other verses to consider as well in the New Testament about Jesus offering himself as a sacrifice for our sins can be found in the book of Hebrews, and particularly in chapters 7 thru 10. Below are a few verses that stand out:
Hebrews 7:27 "Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself."
Hebrews 9:12-15 "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who thorugh the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."
Hebrews 9:26-28 "For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared TO PUT AWAY SIN BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIMSELF." And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but afater this the judgment: SO CHRIST WAS ONCE OFFERED TO BEAR THE SINS OF MANY; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."
Hebrews 10:10 "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
Hebrews 10:12 "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God."
Hebrews 10:14 "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified."
In regards to forgiveness, 1 John verse 7 says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HIS SON CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN." 1John verse 9 says, "IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS." God Bless
Here is Isa. 52:10; 53:1-6 in the Stone Edition. It should be clear to anyone. (Emphasis and parenthetic sections mine.)
"HASHEM (the name, substituted for YHVH) has bared HIS (YHVH'S) HOLY ARM (Mashiach Ben David, Yeshua) before the EYES of all the nations; all ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God!...For whom has THE ARM OF HASHEM (YHVH) been REVEALED! (for us) Formerly he (YHVH's HOLY ARM) grew like a sapling or like a root from arid ground; he (YHVH's HOLY ARM) had neither form nor grandeur; we saw him (YHVH's HOLY ARM), but without such visage that we could desire him. He (YHVH's HOLY ARM) was despised and isolated from men, A MAN (YESHUA) of pains and accustomed to illness. As one from whom we would hide our faces; he was despised, and WE HAD NO REGARD FOR HIM. but in truth, IT WAS OUR ILLS THAT HE (YHVH's HOLY ARM, YESHUA) BORE, and our pains that he (YHVH's HOLY ARM) carried--but we had regarded him (YHVH's HOLY ARM, YESHUA) diseased, stricken by God, and afflicted! HE (YHVH's HOLY ARM) WAS PAINED BECAUSE OF OUR REBELLIOUS SINS and oppressed through our iniquities; the chastisement upon him was for our benefit, and THROUGH HIS (YHVH's HOLY ARM'S, YESHUA'S) WOUNDS, WE WERE HEALED. We have ALL strayed like sheep, each of us turning his own way, and HASHEM INFLICTED UPON HIM (YHVH'S HOLY ARM) THE INIQUITY OF US ALL." Agape
Feast of T'Ruach, Feast of Trumpets: Sept. 6/7 2002
Anthony Godefroy 8-2-02 - www.altars.org/feast6.html
1st of Tishri A One day Feast (a High Sabbath...
Yom T'Ruach, Trumpets, is also known as Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year....when the Shofar (the ram's horn) was blown in the Temple and throughout the land of Israel. This feast prophetically speaks of the in-gathering of Israel to Zion, the City of Jerusalem and to the Land of Israel just before the glorious return of Y'Shua (Jesus) and the catching away of the faithful, the Bride.
...In Biblical days, the New Moon was always announced by the blowing of the Shofar. These were to be a number of short blasts. However, the New Moon of the seventh month was celebrated by a number of long blasts of the Shofar, thus the feast of the sounding of trumpets...
..."why are there always two trumpets spoken of in the Word?"...one trumpet prophetically represents the in gathering of Israel and the other is to herald the coming of the King of kings and the Lord of lords, when He comes to meet His Bride in the air!
***I think the 2 trumpets call the saints up to Heaven. The first "trump of God" (I Thess. 4:16) is at the Pre-Trib Rapture. The "last trump" (I Cor. 15:51,52) is at the Pre-Wrath Rapture.
Trumpets in the Word...Trumpets of Silver. Silver is the metal redemption, thus two silver trumpets clearly indicates that the Lord God, blessed be He, always intended the plan of redemption to be for Israel and Gentiles alike.
"Make two silver trumpets for yourself...use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting". Numbers 10:2-3
During the first Temple there were one hundred and twenty silver trumpets proving their importance...
Priests sounded trumpets made of precious metal, the silver trumpets over the sacrifices as a memorial to the Lord...Numbers 10:10.
The number two in the Word speaks of testimony, the number of witness. The prophet Joel also peaks of two separate trumpets in chapter 2 verse 1 and verse 15 of his book.
1. "Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain"... 2. "Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, call a Sacred assembly".
The first, the call of "alarm" prophetically speaks of Israel's ingathering to Zion, Jerusalem, which occurred in 1967. The second blowing, a "call for the sacred or solemn assembly" is for the faithful in Messiah Y'Shua, as we will discover.
Fulfilment of...the "feast of the Blowing of the Trumpets", prophetically represents the "catching away" of the faithful.
"For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God … we, which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord". 1Thess 4:16-17.
Israel has been re-established upon the mountains of Israel in 1948, but more importantly to Jerusalem in 1967. The first trumpet has been fulfilled. There is no doubt that the second trumpet of the feast speaks of the catching away of the faithful This will be fulfilled soon, in this the "generation to come" or as it is written in the Hebrew, - "Le'Dor Acharon" which literally means "the Last Generation". (Psalm 102:19, Matthew 24:34).
***Nu. 10:4 (Stone) says, "If they sound a long blast with one, the leaders shall assemble to you, the heads of Israel's thousands." When the 1st trump sounds, the 12 patriarchs of Israel and the 12 apostles (the 24 elders of Rev. 4:4 will be caught up in the Pre-Trib Rapture along with other saints out of every nation (Rev. 5:9).
It is important to note that there are eight days between the feasts of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. This time signifies the time from the catching away of the faithful, the Bride, and the 2nd Coming. The seven-year Great Tribulation will commence the day after the feast of Trumpets when the Bride has been taken away "to be with the Lord"....
Will the BRIDE of Messiah Y'Shua enter the Tribulation, the 70th Week?...
Beloved, the Catching Away, the Rapture, is not only a turning point for the faithful in the Messiah, but also for the world. The world will never be the same again, after the Bride is caught up!...
Reflecting my Jewish background, you will note that I use many Hebrew words and Hebrew names throughout...I love to use the blessed name of the LORD our God, which is - YHVH – or as it is correctly pronounced, "YaH'VaH".... Also, I love to use the actual Hebrew name of our Lord and Saviour "Jesus", which is "Y'Shua"....I believe the Lord would also be joyous to be called by His original and actual name. All who personally knew the Lord and spoke to Him when He was with us, called Him Y'Shua....The most important issue is, do we know Him as our personal Lord and Saviour! Praise the wonderful name of Y'Shua Ha Mashiach, Christ Jesus our Lord...
"For in those days (the 70th Week) there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be" Mark 13:19.
In the Tenach (the Old Testament) this time, the 70th Week, is known as "the Day of Yahvah", "the Day of the LORD". The purpose of that day, is Judgement of those in error and in sin. ***The last verse of the Tanach (Stone) says, "Behold, I send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of HASHEM (lit., YHVH)." The Day of the Lord does not come until after Elijah comes as the Tribulation begins. The Great Tribulation is divided into two parts. During the first three and a half years, that false peacemaker, the anti-christ, and sometimes, the lawless one, will make a treaty with Israel and delude the world with promises of peace and prosperity...at the same time introducing the "mark of the beast", the cashless society. Sadly, many will accept it without question. The second half of the Tribulation is known as the "Time of Jacob's Trouble". ***I think the Time of Jacob's Trouble is one day, the Feast of Trumpets that begins the millennial Day of the Lord. It is the day of the Pre-Wrath Rapture and the 7 Trumpet Judgments. That one day is like no other. Jer 30:7 (KJV) says, "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it." Dan. 19:1 says, "there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time." This time will be used to soften the hardened hearts of the remnant of Israel, in order that they might turn to their Messiah and be prepared for His Kingdom. The Day of the LORD will culminate in Y'Shua's Second Coming to the earth.
***According to Eze. 39:12,13, there are 7 months between the Day of God's Wrath and the Second Advent.
As already stated, there are many Scriptures that prove that the Bride, the faithful in the Lord will be "caught up" before the Great Tribulation. Praise the Lord, for the Word is full of promises to those "in the Messiah" which assures us that we will be spared from the "Wrath of God" commonly referred to as the "Great Tribulation" which is to come upon the earth.
"For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Y'Shua the Messiah". 1 Thessalonians 5:9. "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from Wrath through Him". Romans 5:9. "The Lord knows how to deliver the godly from trials and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the Day of Judgement". 2 Peter 2:9.
"You turned to YHVH from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Y'Shua who delivers us from the wrath to come". 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10...
The faithful in Messiah Y'Shua are not destined for the wrath of YHVH. Anyone that teaches, the Bride must enter the Tribulation, are saying that the faithful in Messiah Y'Shua are destined to suffer His wrath. Never! We shall not enter it. We have YHVH's assurance on that!
It is obvious, if the Faithful in Y'Shua, filled with the Holy Spirit, were to enter the 70th week, why then does God place the two witnesses in Jerusalem during the first three and a half years? There would be no purpose for them. They are there, because the Bride together with the "Comforter" has departed and they alone are YHVH's messengers for the earth for that time.
A summary of the first 5 feasts
Feast 1 Passover, prophetically speaks of the "Passover (Lamb) sacrificed for us" to redeem the world from sin and shame.
Feast 2 Unleavened Bread, prophetically speaks of Y'Shua's perfect provision, without spot and blemish. The one day of Passover, and the seven days of Unleavened Bread totals in eight days representing the Lord Y'Shua's first presence on earth. Eight also speaks of Lord who is our door of salvation, our Chai, Life.
Feast 3 Firstfruits, prophetically speaks the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour and the Body, the faithful when He comes.
Feast 4 the feast of Weeks, speaks of the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter upon the body of Messiah Y'Shua and the commencement of the 2,000 year (a double portion) age of grace.
Feast 5 Trumpets, prophetically speaks of the two trumpets to be fulfilled, one for Israel and the second for those in Messiah Y'Shua. The first trumpet being the trumpet of "alarm", speaking of Israel's restoration unto Zion in the "Latter Days." The second trumpet is the trumpet of "solemn assembly", speaking of the faithful being "caught up". The catching away of the Bride and removal of the Comforter occurs at the end of Age of Grace (at trumpets). After the final ingathering: the seven-year Great Tribulation commences at the conclusion of the feast of Trumpets.
Rosh Hashanah - Jewish New Year: Scripturally correct is the "Feast of the Blowing of the Trumpets"
