Even though a world leader, "the beast", at some point will confirm an existing agreement for seven years, the interpretative assumption has been made that this is necessarily also the beginning point of the 'final week' for Israel.
However, the seven year confirmation period will be a pretense on the part of the world leader. It will be readily broken as it suits the him and false prophet. For example, three and a half years after the agreement is confirmed, it will be broken as the prophet presents himself as "God" within the rebuilt temple. Whereas, God's final week, though shortened, will be fulfilled.
Also, concerning the two prophets of God, even though they will proclaim God's message for three and a half years, this does not have to start at the beginning of the "final week". Their ministry can begin after the confirmation of the agreement.
Also, the seven famine years of Joseph's vision, if indeed a foreshadowing of the final week, has been confused with the antichrist's seven year covenant confirmation as well. I am thinking that the seven famine years has already begun as well.
The above is consistent will the understanding that 2007 is still the ending of the tribulation, as you, Marilyn, have researched and presented prior.
The pre-trib rapture will actually take place prior to the revelation of the world leader. It does not have to take place at the beginning of God's final week for Israel. Perhaps a more accurate way to describe the first rapture, instead of "pre-trib", is as the "pre-bracc" (beast revelation and convenant confirmation) rapture. Feel free to come up with a different initialism.
I present this as opinion. Off the top of my head, I am not aware of any scripture(s) that counter my thinking in a definite manner. I am open to what you and others think on As I read the news and pray for Jews and Palestinians in Israel, intuitively it is my belief that the people of the land have been experiencing the tribulation since about the beginning of the latest intifada.
On another note, I have been "watching" for our Lord's return for a number of years now. As thinking is pieced together and shared on this and other websites, certain dates have been presented as being possible times when this might happen (which I am by no means disparaging).
During the months leading up to each speculated date, people, including myself, have gotten understandably excited. Individuals would then share about dreams, coincedences, intrepretations of world events, and even "words from God" that appeared to validate the anticipated date. It was only after the date came and went was it realized that these dreams, coincedences, world event interpretations, and "words" were simply wishful thinking. (It is my opinion that seeing the face of a bride and groom in the shadows of the western wall fits into this.)
I think there is value in realizing that as humans we are very vulnerable to reading into things when nothing is there at all. This awareness needs to be especially heeded by those who have shared a "word from God", only to have circumstances bear out that God was not the spirit they were listening to. It is a serious matter. Remaining ever watchful. Take care.
Can it? Let's see. Rev. 11:3 says, "I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth." At the end of this 1260 days, Satan will be cast out of Heaven, enter into the False Prophet, sit in the temple "shewing himself that he is God (II Thess. 2:4), put an idol (the abomination of desolation, Mt. 24:15) at the temple, and kill the 2 witnesses. They are resurrected and raptured to Heaven after 3.5 days to show that at the end of the next 1260 days will be the Rapture of the Tribulation saints. Remember that this 2nd 1260 days will be shortened (Mt. 24:21,22).
Mar 13:20 says, "except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days." Pro 10:27 says, "The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of THE WICKED shall be shortened." The years of the wicked one, the False Prophet will be shortened."
After the 1st 1260 days, those in Judaea are to "flee into the mountains" (Mt. 24:16). In Rev. 12, we see that the time that they are to be protected in the wilderness is 1260 days. Rev. 12:6 says, "the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place (Petra) prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days."
Thus the first 1260 days is for the prophesying of the 2 witnesses. They are killed at the junction of the 2 halves. Then there is another 1260-day period during which the Messianic Jews are protected from the face of Satan for the last half of the septet, or 7 years.
Dan. 9:27 says, "he (the False Prophet, who comes to full power after the 2 witnesses prophesy 1260 days, Rev. 11:3) shall confirm (gabar, strengthen) the covenant with many (probably the UN) for one week (shabuwa, sextet, i.e., 7 years): and in the midst (chetsiy, half, 2 parts, middle, i.e., after the 1st 1260 days) of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease."
I don't see how the ministry of the 2 witnesses can be other than the first 1260-day period of the 70th week of Dan. 9:27.
> > the final "week" may have already begun.
Since the 70th week of Dan. 9:27 starts with the strengthening of the covenant, I don't think it has begun. However, I think the 7 bad years have already begun.
When Joseph was in Egypt, there were 7 good years and 7 bad years. Joseph was a type of Christ, even playing out death and resurrection when he was put in a pit and then taken up out of the pit.
The Oslo Accords were signed in the USA on Sept. 13, 1993. I think the 7 good years started when those Oslo Accords were ratified 3 days later in Israel on Tishri 1, 5754. The 7 bad years seem to have started on Tishri 1, 5761. Thus the 7 bad years would end on Tishri 1, 5768 (our Sept. 13, 2007).
If we start with Sept. 13, 1993, add 7 years, we come to Sept. 13, 2000. Adding 7 bad years brings us to Sept. 13, 2007.
If we start with Tishri 1, 5754, add 7 years, we come to Tishri 1, 5761. Adding 7 bad years brings us to Tishri 1, 5768, which is our Sept. 13, 2007. That is too good to have happened by accident.
That date of Sept. 13, 2007 seems to be the end of the 40-year generation in the Fig Tree Parable of Mt. 24:32-34. Israel grew leaves (Gaza Strip, Sinai, West Bank, Golan Heights) in 1967. Adding 40 years brings us to 2007. From the prophecies for the Feast of Trumpets, I thought back in 1968 that the end of that 40 years would have to end on the Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1, 5768, our Sept. 13, 2007. Then when the Oslo Accords were signed on Sept. 13, 1993, it reinforced that conclusion. It seemed to point to that date so we wouldn't wonder if it could be some other time.
We now have a framework within which the shortened Tribulation is set. It's beginning is sometime after Tishri 1, 2000. It's end seems firmly anchored to Sept. 13, 2007. When it begins has been the problem.
Since it is only the Great Tribulation that gets shortened, we know that the Tribulation has to be at least 1260 days. That's when the 2 witnesses prophesy. If we subtract 1260 days from Thurs. Sept. 13, 2007, we get Thurs. April 1, 2004. Therefore, the Pre-Trib Rapture should take place between now and April 1, 2004.
Song of Sol. 2:10-14 shows that there will be grapes ripening when the Lord says, "rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Since there are no grapes in April, we can back up to the previous vintage. That could be Tishri 1, 5764 (our Sept. 27, 2003). The vintage is in Elul and Tishri. Therefore, the Pre-Trib Rapture probably will take place between now and Sept. 27, 2003.
Since Jacob/Israel went to Joseph in the 2nd year of famine. I assume that we will go to Christ in the 2nd bad year. The 2nd bad year started on Tishri 1, 5762 and will end on Tishri 1, 5763.
Song of Sol. 2:10-14 also says that the rain is over and gone. This seems to knock out Tishri 1, because the former rain begins on Tishri 1. Therefore, I am very hopeful that the Pre-Trib Rapture will be on the Eve of Trumpets.
I think Eve (the bride) was taken out of the 1st Adam's side on Friday, before God rested on Saturday, Tishri 1. It looks favorable that the Bride of Christ could be taken out of the Body of Christ on Friday. Elul 29. The Eve of Trumpets is on Friday on Sept. 6, 2002, also on Sept. 26, 2003, but not in 2004.
Remember that we haven't figured in much time for the Great Tribulation. Therefore, I think our chances of the Lord's coming for his Bride are very good this year. Agape
MANY OF US ARE WAITING AND READY TO BE RECEIVED HOME BY OUR LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER. HERE, THERE, OR IN THE AIR!!!
From: aish.com, Rabbi Kalman Packouz, Re'eh 5762
...Thursday, August 8th, and Friday, August 9th, are the two days of Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of the new Hebrew month of Elul. This is a very special month in the Jewish year as it is the month preceding Rosh Hashanah (which begins Friday evening, September 6th)....
Elul, when spelled in Hebrew letters, is the acronym for the words, "I am to my beloved, my beloved is to me" (ani l'dodi v'dodi li -oftentimes it will be inscribed on the inside of an engagement ring)....
The New Moon is Tishri 1, 5763, our Sept. 7, 2002. I think that the Feast of Trumpets is Jesus' birthday and that the day this "kosmos," order of things, began the day God rested in Genesis 1. God created Adam and took Eve, his bride, out of his body on the preceeding day, Elul 29, the Eve of Trumpets. 'ELUL' MEANS "I AM TO MY BELOVED, MY BELOVED IS TO ME."
The Jews blow trumpets during the 40 days preceding the Feast of Trumpets except the last day, Elul 29, the Eve of Trumpets. The trumpets are again sounded on Tishri 1. Therefore, Jews wouldn't be fooled on Elul 29 if they heard the "trump of God," thinking it was just man blowing trumpets.
At the marriage feast, the man without a wedding garment was cast out. Mat 22:13 says, "Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer (outside the door) DARKNESS; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." That darkness could be a hint that the Rapture of the Bride of Christ would be during the dark Moon.
Mat 25:30 says, "cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer DARKNESS: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
1Pe 2:9 sayd, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS into his marvellous light."
Col 1:12,13 says, "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of DARKNESS, and HATH TRANSLATED (methistemi, transferred, carried away, removed, translated; i.e., raptured) US INTO THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON."
Enoch was raptured. Heb 11:5 says, "By faith Enoch was TRANSLATED (methistemi, transferred, carried away, removed, translated; i.e., raptured) that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had TRANSLATED (methistemi, removed; raptured) him: for before his TRANSLATION (metathesis, transposition, i.e. transferral (to heaven), removing, translation) he had this testimony, that he pleased God." I thought it might be special that this began on a sabbath, but wondered if there was any significance to this particular sabbath being that it was during the special time between the Fast of Tammuz and the Fast of Av on Av 9. A friend emailed me this list of what happened in at various times in history on the 17th of Tammuz.
.Moses smashed the tablets of the Torah at Mt. Sinai
.Daily sacrifices ceased
.A Torah scroll was burned in the Temple by "Apostomos"
.An idol was erected in the Temple
.The city wall was finally breached
Again, I thank you so much, Marilyn for your love of God's Word and you devotion to searching the scriptures to glean God's truth and light. I have grown so much in my understanding as I have studied the Word with all the people who write to you and am excited every time a new Pro/Con is posted. Thank you
Now we have had another comet break into a string of pearls, 19 of them. Just a reminder that those 21 pearls that hit Jupiter were to show us what type of thing will happen when the asteroids of Rev. 8:8,10 impact Earth. We are not to forget that episode. Luke 21:25 said that there would be signs in the Sun, Moon and Constellations. Verse 28 says that when we begin to see these things to lift up our heads, our redemption draweth nigh. I'm looking up. The Lord's coming seems near....Agape
The weeping wall shed its tears because of the nature of what was about to occur in the town that Christ was crucified in....The gay pride march in the holy land...Im ready to go and feel that before October 15th rolls around, we will be long gone. Psalms 102 which represents the year 2002 shows the rapture taking place, and we also know that in psalms 103 which is 2003 the 2 witnesses have arrived...The rapture is at hand folks. Im getting excited...Here is the link for the pictures of the weeping wall in Jerusalem if you have not seen them yet.....YBIC
Title: VATICAN REPUDIATES JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOR OF ALL MANKIND, SAYS JEWS ARE THEOLOGICALLY CORRECT IN AWAITING THEIR MESSIAH!
Subtitle: As the church of the future False Prophet...Rome is committed to bringing together all religions under the same roof in the Ecumenical Global Religion that will serve Antichrist. This statement is not unexpected, but its appearance now is just one more indication that the appearance of Antichrist may not be far off.
"I have come in My Father's name and with His power, and you do not receive Me ... but if another comes in his own name and his own power and with no other authority but himself, you will receive him and give him your approval." [John 5:43; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]. Rome's pronouncement further sets up Jewish people to be deceived when Antichrist arises!...
NEWS BRIEF: "The wait is over: Jew's Messiah now Kosher: Vatican affirms Jewish position, scholars scramble to decipher new doctrine", The Jewish Week, July 31, 2002, http://www.thejewishweek.com/news/newscontent.php3?artid=5649#top Eric J. Greenberg, Staff Writer.
"In 1967, during the early thaw of Catholic-Jewish relations, Rabbi Irving 'Yitz' Greenberg addressed a Catholic audience about the conflicting Messiah beliefs. The Orthodox rabbi noted that one difference between Jews and Catholics is whether the Messiah is coming for the first or second time. Christians believe the Messiah — a Jew from Nazareth called Jesus — came 2,000 years ago, and after dying and being resurrected, will someday return to redeem the world. Jews say the Messiah has yet to arrive...
"Rabbi Greenberg suggested the dispute be tabled until the Messiah arrives. When the Messiah comes, Jews and Christians 'can ask him if this is his first coming or his second', finally putting the issue to rest. But this week, the Messiah debate suddenly took center stage in Jewish-Catholic relations, in an appropriately bizarre and mysterious manner. It follows the revelation last week that the Vatican’s top biblical scholars recently issued a report that for the first time in nearly 2,000 years apparently validates as legitimate the Jewish wait for the Messiah. A 210-page document titled 'The Jewish People and the Holy Scriptures in the Christian Bible,' by the Pontifical Biblical Commission and authorized by the Vatican's top theologian, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, reportedly states that 'the Jewish messianic wait is not in vain'.
"It reportedly says Jews and Christians share their wait for the Messiah, although Jews are waiting for the first coming and Christians for the second."
...Let us allow the Bible to defend itself on the point that Jesus is the only Messiah of all mankind and certainly of the Jews.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." [John 14:6]
Jesus dogmatically states that He is the only way anyone -- Jew or Gentile -- can enter Heaven, to spend eternity with the Father. When genuine Christians merely state the Biblical truth, straight out of the lips of Jesus Himself, we are accused of anti-Semitism! If fact, political correctness has reached such a state in the world today that a statement that Jews need to accept Jesus in order to be saved, is being declared anti-Semitic....
But, Jesus was not finished declaring Himself to be the only way to eternal life:
"So Jesus said again, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that I Myself am the Door for the sheep ... came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd risks and lays down His [own] life for the sheep." [John 10:7-11]
Jesus said He was the only door, and that all other religious leaders were liars and thieves. That statement is not only dogmatic but it is the statement with which every person who stands before the final White Throne Judgment Seat will hear, straight from the Savior's lips.
ROME REPUDIATES "SAINT PETER" -- THEIR "FIRST POPE"
Has Rome not thought this issue through? By stating that the Jews were still legitimately awaiting their Messiah, Rome is agreeing with the Jews that Jesus was not their Messiah, their "Christ", for whom they have been long awaiting. However, by agreeing to this theological point, the Vatican is calling their very first "Pope" a liar at worst, a deceived Jew at best. Listen as the Apostle Peter exclaims his understanding and belief about Jesus:
"He [Jesus] saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." [Matthew 16:15-17]...
Since we now have the "weeping" wailing wall, verse 11 is interesting. It says, "For THE STONE SHALL CRY OUT OF THE WALL, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it." The word translated cry is zaaq, to shriek, as a herald to announce or convene publicly, cause to be proclaimed, assemble, call together, gather together. That white stone "weeping" sure sounds like a good sign that the upward call of Jesus Christ is near.
Hab. 2:13 in the New Scofield Bible says, "the peoples shall labor only for fire, and the nations shall weary themselves for nothing." Babylon will be destroyed by the stone like a great millstone, Rev. 18:21.
Zech. 5:4 says, "I will bring it (the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole Earth, i.e., the asteroid) forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief (the False Prophet, a thief, as was Judas Iscariot, the only other son of perdition), and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name (claims infallibility): and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof." Hi Marilyn: For a week now I've attempted to forward you an e-mail message but each time I delete them. Something in my spirit wants you to consider Rebekah (a type of Bride) in Genesis 24:54-58 which states: 54 And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master. And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go. And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master. And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth. And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.
The question is, "will the bride follow?" Her answer was, "I will go".
My concern for the church as a whole is that she simply doesn't appear to be ready to make that choice and go with the servant. Five of the Seven Lamp stands are just not ready. My memory allowed me to also give you the subject site to visit describing the Bride and other interesting shadows as to the Bride of Christ through Rebekah.
I trust you and Ed are "holding fast"! I pray for your increased strength to rise up daily. Keep watching and publishing. Think not twice about answering all your critics or bothersome e-mails....Why am I telling you all of this...I don't know other than I was supposed to tell you all of this about seven days now. May the Lord bless and keep you and Ed until our departure.
In Genesis 24:10, Eliezer took ten camels on his journey. What does this spiritually represent? The Jewish people understand that the number 10 means a legal congregation. In Hebrew, it is called a minyan.
Spiritually, a minyan (10 people) represents a legal congregation of believers. It is derived from Abraham's intercession on behalf of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 18. In Genesis 18:32, God told Abraham that he would not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if there were ten righteous in the city. Ten righteous people represent a legal congregation. The Greek word for church is "ekklesia." It is the Strong's word (1577) in the Greek dictionary. The word church means, "a congregation or assembly." Therefore, the servant of Abraham taking "ten camels" represents a legal congregation of believers (the Bride of Christ) who becomes His Bride by enduring the camel ride (the trials and tribulations of life) while remaining steadfast in love and commitment to the perfect Will of God. Furthermore, the Bride of Christ desires to be pleasing to her heavenly Bridegroom all the days of her Christian life.
THE PARABLE OF THE TEN VIRGINS
In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a parable of ten virgins. The congregation of believers in Christ is described as virgins unto God. This can be seen in 2 Corinthians 11:2 as it is written: "I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ."
In this, we can see that the ten virgins represent the entire congregation of believers in Jesus as Messiah. In the parable, five were wise and five were foolish. The wise virgins were rewarded by being ready to be married to the bridegroom. The foolish virgins were not ready and prepared and missed the wedding. Likewise, it is so with the congregation of believers in Jesus as Messiah. From the ten virgins (a legal congregation = a minyan), some virgins were foolish (carnal Christians) and some virgins were wise (the Bride of Christ). The wise virgins were ready for the marriage and were married to the Bridegroom....
Therefore, in Genesis 24:10, the servant of Abraham taking "ten camels" represents a legal congregation of believers (the Bride of Christ). They become His Bride through enduring the camel ride (the trials and tribulatins of life) remaining steadfast in love and commitment to the perfect Will of God while desiring to be pleasing unto Him all the days of her Christian life.
Until now, I didn't know why there were exactly 10 virgins. Eddie, a Messianic Jew who knows a lot about Hebrew, explained that "the ten virgins (a legal congregation = a minyan)." I see now how very appropriate it is that there were 10 virgins (and 10 camels in the foreshadowing type). Because there were 10, a legal quorum, they represent the whole church. This strengthens the thought that half the church is the Bride of Christ and the rest the remainder of the Body of Christ.
Now that I understand that, I wonder about something else. Gen. 24:11 says, "he (Abraham's elder servant, type of the Holy Spirit) made his camels (10 of them) to kneel down (i.e., as if praying) without the city by a well of water AT THE TIME OF THE EVENING, EVEN THE TIME THAT WOMEN (virgins like Rebecca, who filled their pitchers with water) GO OUT TO DRAW WATER."
Maybe when the 10 virgins "went forth to meet the bridegroom" in Mt. 25:1f, it was at even. When the bridegroom "tarried" may correspond to the time from evening to midnight. "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept." Then "at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him."
Then the foolish found out that they needed more oil. Both oil and water are symbols of the Spirit of God, which we are filled with when all our sins have been forgiven, as I John 1:9 explains. Maybe it is suggesting that we should DRAW WATER IN THE EVENING, i.e., confess our sins in the evening, in case the bridegroom would come at midnight. Eph 4:25,26 says, "putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another (i.e., bound together by the Holy Spirit in the Body of Christ). Be ye angry, and sin not: LET NOT THE SUN GO DOWN UPON YOUR WRATH."
Du. 24:15 seems to suggest the same thing. It says, "At his day thou shalt give him his hire, NEITHER SHALL THE SUN GO DOWN UPON IT; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee."
When Jesus/Y'shua does come for the Bride of Christ, there won't be time for the foolish carnal Christians to buy more oil of the Holy Spirit. We have to be ready before he gets here, or we will risk being tested during the trial that will "come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth" (Rev. 3:10). There is a good chance that this trial will run from the Pre-Trib Rapture to the Pre-Wrath Rapture.
Heb 12:14 gives us good advise. It says, "Follow peace with all men, and HOLINESS, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD."
After the midnight cry, the foolish virgins went to get more oil. By the time they got back, the wise virgins had gone to the marriage with the bridegroom, "and the door was shut" like the door to Noah's Ark.
We need to be wearing the white wedding garment. The fine linen is the righteousnesses of saints. This includes Christ's righteousness imputed to us plus our righteous acts.
2 Cor. 11:2 shows that the Bride is as a "chaste virgin." It says, "I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ."
Ed and I are doing as well as can be expected. We are watching and waiting for the Lord. Agape
