Incoming email, Re: Re-baptism

that was good, but can you explain act 11:17?

My reply

In Acts 10:36,37,42-44, Peter was first called to Cornelius' house, "preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached... And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he (Jesus) which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that THROUGH HIS NAME WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHALL RECEIVE REMISSION OF SINS. While Peter yet spake these words, THE HOLY GHOST FELL ON ALL THEM which heard the word."

In the next chapter, Act 11:13-18 says that a man "shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; WHO SHALL TELL THEE WORDS, WHEREBY THOU AND ALL THY HOUSE SHALL BE SAVED. And as I began to speak, , THE HOLY GHOST FELL ON THEM, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Act 11:17,18 "Forasmuch then as GOD GAVE THEM THE LIKE GIFT AS HE DID UNTO US, WHO BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, THEN HATH GOD ALSO TO THE GENTILES GRANTED REPENTANCE UNTO LIFE."

Peter finally gets his head straight on this matter. Salvation (Heb., Yeshuah, i.e., Yeshua, Jesus) is not for Jews only, but for the whole world. When anyone believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost (Spirit of God, Spirit of Christ) will be given to that person. It seals them until the day of redemption (the Rapture). Eph 4:30 says, "And grieve not THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, WHEREBY YE ARE SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION." Agape

Incoming email, Re: baptist

good, can you explain Isa. 42:8? Jesus came in his father's name, which is Lord, isn't that why he was called Lord.

My reply

Jesus is the Lord. That is why he is called Lord. As the Pre-incarnate Christ, he was the one that dealt with man. As the Angel of the Lord, he was the one that could be seen by man. He appeared to Abraham as one of the three "men" on the way to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 18:1,2,22). 1Jo 4:12 says, "No man hath seen God at any time." No one has seen the Father, but they have seen the Son of God." He is the one that gave Moses the 10 commandments.

Isa 48:16-18 says, "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I (the Son of God): and now the Lord GOD (the Father), and his Spirit, hath sent me (Jesus Christ). Thus saith the LORD (YHVH), thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD (YHVH) thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to MY COMMANDMENTS! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea."

In John 20:28, "Thomas answered and said unto him (Jesus Christ), MY LORD AND MY GOD."

Isa 42:1-8 is talking about Jesus Christ, the LORD of hosts (Isa. 44:6), the servant of his Father. The Father says, "Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I HAVE PUT MY SPIRIT UPON HIM: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles ('For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son,' John 5:22). He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

"Thus saith God (El) the LORD (YHVH, Yahweh), he (YHVH of hosts, Christ, the Redeemer, Isa. 44:6) that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein (John 1:1-3 says, "the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; and without him was not any thing made that was made, John 1:1-3): I the LORD (YHVH) have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
The next verse, Isa 42:8, says, "I (the Son of God) am the LORD (YHVH, Yahweh): THAT IS MY NAME: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."

Isa. 44:6 says, "Thus saith the LORD (YHVH) the King of Israel, AND his redeemer (the LORD Jesus Christ) the LORD (YHVH) of hosts; I am the first (YHVH King of Israel), AND I am the last (YHVH of hosts); and beside me there is no God."

In Rev. 1:8, Jesus said, "I am Alpha AND Omega, the beginning (YHVH King of Israel) AND the ending (YHVH of hosts), saith the Lord, which is (at the Pre-Trib Rapture), and which was (at the First Advent), and which is to come (at the Second Advent), THE ALMIGHTY."

II Cor. 5:19 helps us understand. It says, "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself."

Pro 30:4 asks, "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name (YHVH, Yahweh), and what is his son's name (YHVH King of Israel, YHVH of hosts, Redeemer, Saviour, Yeshua, Jesus Christ), if thou canst tell?"

Psa 89:26,27 says, "He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God (El), and the rock of my salvation (yshuwah). Also I will make him MY FIRSTBORN, higher than the kings of the earth."

Psa 2:7 says, "I will declare the decree: the LORD (YHVH) hath said unto me, THOU ART MY SON; this day have I begotten thee." Mark 1:11 says, "And there came a voice from heaven, saying, THOU ART MY BELOVED SON, in whom I am well pleased."

Heb 1:5 says, "For unto which of the angels said he at any time (to none of the angels, not even to Michael the Archangel), THOU ART MY SON, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I WILL BE TO HIM (JESUS CHRIST) A FATHER, AND HE SHALL BE TO ME A SON?" Agape

The flux of small near-Earth objects colliding with the Earth

Asteroids with diameters smaller than 50–100 m that collide with the Earth usually do not hit the ground as a single body; rather, they detonate in the atmosphere....

Satellites spy on meteorite explosions

PHILIP BALL - Nature, 11-21-02

...Every ten years an explosion equivalent to three Hiroshima atom bombs rips through the Earth's upper atmosphere...

They are natural events, caused by the collision of asteroids with the Earth. Peter Brown of the University of Western Ontario in Canada and co-workers have used military satellite data to figure out how heavily our planet is being bombarded by cosmic missiles....

Colliding bodies called bolides, less than 100 metres or so across, tend to break up in the atmosphere and so often leave no traces....

Between the start of 1994 and September 2002, these satellites spotted 300 events that Brown's team attribute to high-altitude bolide impacts. The satellites see a flash lasting just a few seconds. From these flashes, the researchers estimate the amount of energy released by the explosion.

In six years they have seen events ranging from equivalent to a tenth of a kiloton of TNT to a few tens of kilotons. These correspond to bolides between about 1 and 10 metres across....

This, the first direct measure of the smaller impact events, indicates that there is, on average, a 5-kiloton explosion every year - that's one-third the size of the Hiroshima bomb.

Comet LINEAR breaks apart

Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope were surprised by comet LINEAR when in a brief, violent outburst it blew off a piece of its crust, like a cork popping off a champagne bottle.

The eruption, the comet's equivalent of a volcanic explosion in the icy regions of the nucleus or core, spewed a great deal of dust into space and caused it to fragment (break apart). Though temperatures are far below freezing, at about -73 degrees Celsius (oC).

This mist of dust reflected sunlight, dramatically increasing the comet's brightness over several hours. The space telescope recorded the entire event and even took a picture of the chunk jettisoned from the nucleus. This fragment was observed floating away along the comet's tail at about 6 miles per hour...

July 7th 2000 Resulting in the discovery of a castoff chunk of material from the nucleus sailing along its tail (the bright dot trailing behind the comet in Image 3).

Ushering in the One-World Religion

By Wendy Griffith

The summit was endorsed by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan who said "the future of the world depends on women." – GENEVA, Switzerland — A one world government and a one world religion — it may just sound like fiction from the popular "Left Behind" novel series. But some Christians say this scenario may be closer than most people think....

Christians believe there is one way to heaven, because Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except by me."

But Rev. Brown Campbell said, "For me, that is true, I mean for me the way to God the way to peace is through Jesus Christ, that's what I teach my children, that's what I teach my grandchildren, and I believe that very, very strongly. But I also believe that for others, there is a way that for them is true and precious, and I don't deny them that reality and I respect that."...

The Anchor Stones of Noah’s Ark

There were twelve stones in all — and all but one had 8 crosses carved on them. They were found by American explorers in 1959, about 20 miles southwest of Mount Ararat in Eastern Turkey...

Discovered: The Tomb of Caiaphas

In 1990, a road construction crew was working on the road that runs through the Gehenna Valley, along the south side of the old walled city of Jerusalem, when they accidentally broke into an ancient burial cave. They immediately called for Israel’s Department of Antiquities to send an archeologist to inspect their find.

Upon exploring the burial chambers, they found twelve stone boxes (ossuaries) full of bones! They were decorated with various floral designs and rosettes that clearly dated them back to the first century. To their surprise and delight, they recognized the name on one ossuary. It read “Joseph, son of Caiaphas!” Furthermore, the bones were estimated to be that of a man around 60 years old.

The first-century Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus, wrote about the man whose bones were identified as Joseph, son of Caiaphas, calling him the high priest: “Joseph, who was called Caiaphas of the high priesthood.”

He filled the office of high priest (A.D. 18-36) during the ministry of Jesus and was the very man who plotted the betrayal and execution of our Savior. It was Caiaphas who once said, “… it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not” (John 11:50). Caiaphas was the man who presided over the Sanhedrin court at the trial of Jesus, then turned Him over to the Romans....

Ancient Blue Dye Rediscovered in Israel

Some three thousand five hundred years ago, Moses gave instructions for the making of “tekhelet” (blue dye) that was to be used in the veil that covered the Holy of holies and in the ribbons along the edges of the tallit – the Jewish prayer shawl. Extracting blue and purple dyes from a snail that grew in the Mediterranean became an important industry for centuries. However, with the Islamic invasion of the Holy Land in the seventh century, the industry disappeared. For the past 14 centuries the formula has evaded Jewish scholars. Thus, until recently, Jewish prayer shawls have sported black ribbons.

However, in 1984, Irving Ziderman, a biochemist at the Israel Fiber Institute in Jerusalem, was able to identify the source of the ancient dye. After years of research, trial and error, he perfected the process, using the mucus of the “banded dye murex,” a spiny shellfish once thought to be extinct.

The Talmud (Menahot 44a) says that once every 70 years the shores of the land of Israel are visited by the segulit snail from which the tekhelet, used to mark certain religious items, was made.

The Jerusalem Post (November 10,1990) reported that these snails had begun to surface by the thousands along the Mediterranean coast. Some Orthodox Jews believe the reappearance of the snails are a sign of the approaching of the Messianic Age. Today, you can find Jews praying at the Western Wall, wearing prayer shawls with beautiful blue ribbons.

The Search for Eve

Two scientists from Berkeley, Vincent Sarich and Allan Wilson, have discovered that every person on Earth came from the same mother. For lack of a better name, they called her, Eve!...

Their research led them to a genetic material in the human cell called “mitochondrial DNA.” These are rod like structures that reside outside the nucleus, and are responsible for supplying the energy that drives the cell’s various activities.

DNA inside the nucleus is made up of a combined genetic material from both a mother and a father, and, therefore, changes in every generation. However, Mitochondrial DNA is inherited only from one’s mother and does not change. Their find proves that we all came from the same mother – one original mother – Eve!

Everybody knows fossils are fickle; bones will sing any song you want to hear. But Eve is different. Her Mitochondrial DNA makes the history of the human race so simple. And evolutionists are at a loss to refute it.

Incoming email, Re: Jesus Brother

There is reference to Jesus having brothers and sisters when they came to call on him. Is there any reference by Josephus or any other source that gives the name of Jesus' sister?????

I thank you for your time and I appreciate your website so very much. regards

My reply

I know that Jesus had at least two "sisters." Mt. 13:54-56 says, "Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things."

It seems like I have run across names for the sisters, but I can't remember what they were or where I saw them mentioned. Agape

Incoming email, Re: Still?

From: Rich Pope

All of my predictions have come true, while none of your have. I also see you still quote the KJV when someone sent you the Stone Edition of the Tanach. Why settle for an inferior translation when we know how accurate Stone's is?

You using the KJV would be like Michael Jordan using the Chuck Taylor Converse All-Star basketball shoe in 2002! It's a joke to say the least.

My reply

> > All of my predictions have come true, while none of your have. I also see you still quote the KJV when someone sent you the Stone Edition

The only thing I know of that you predicted was that the Rapture would not take place. You say that about any day anyone happens to think it might take place. If you keep that up, one of these days, it will take place on a day that you predict that it will not, shattering your record.

The Nazarene Jews of our day believe in Yeshua, but not in the Rapture. They are saved because of their acceptance of Yeshua haMashiach. Their non-acceptance of the Rapture will not interfere with their salvation. If we are right about Yeshua, we can be wrong about other things and still be saved.

When the Rapture happens, know that all is not lost. You can still be one of the 144,000 Jews mentioned in Rev. 7 and 14. The wise virgins are the Bride of Yeshua/Christ that will be caught up to Heaven before the 70th week of Daniel 9:27 begins. However, the 144,000 will be added to the Bride of Christ later. They will have to endure the 70th week of Daniel and be caught up to Heaven on the Day of the Judgment Seat of Yeshua, also called the Day of God's Wrath. The saints in Heaven at that time will be given their rewards. At the same time, the non-believers on Earth will receive their just reward for their non-belief. The asteroids of Rev. 8:8,10 will impact Earth.

The burning asteroid as big as a mountain in Rev. 8:8 will impact the Mediterranean Sea. "Gaza will be deserted; and Ashkelon become a wasteland; they will drive out Ashdod's residents at noon; and Ekron will be uprooted. Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast" (Zeph. 2:4,5; Stone Edition).

The 2nd Rapture will happen just before that asteroid hits at noon. The impact blast and tsunami will kill all but 1/6th of Gog's army that is attacking Israel that day.

At the 1st Rapture, the Bride of Christ, "out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" will sing a "NEW SONG" before God's throne in Heaven (Rev. 5:6,9). They will be made unto "God kings and priests: and we shall reign on (epi, over) the earth."

At the 2nd Rapture, only the 144,000 Jews will be added to the Bride group. Rev 14:3-7 says, "And they sung as it were a NEW SONG before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are VIRGINS. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for THEY ARE WITHOUT FAULT BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD. And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for THE HOUR OF HIS JUDGMENT IS COME: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."

As for predicting anything, I don't predict. I share what I have learned with like-minded people, because the Lord showed me a rectangle of light on Jer. 50:2. It said to publish and conceal not. That is what I am doing, sharing my opinions after more than 40 years of deep Bible study.

I don't happen to have the Stone edition of the Tanach on my computer so I can Copy and Paste. I type out quotes from the Stone Edition when it seems necessary to clear up something.

If they agree, I use the Copy and Paste feature of the KJV or of another version that I have on my computer.

I have read the Dead Sea Scrolls Bible. Any important differences are listed there. Over and over, our KJV is seen to present the right text more often than not. I consistently use it for my main study Bible, but compare other versions frequently.

E-sword has several versions, including the LXX (Septuagint translated by Brenton) and the LITV (Literal Version). The Compare tab will bring up any verse in all versions, including the KJV with Strong's numbers. If I point to a Strong's number, the original word and definition come up. If I press F4, the original word and its definition is placed on my clipboard, ready to Paste into my document.

I also have Online Bible. It has the JPS (Jewish Publication Society) and LXX Tanach on it.

I have more faith in the KJV being correct than you do. When compared to the copper Isaiah scroll found in the Qumran caves, there was only one place found that showed the KJV Old Testament wrong. Isa. 53:8-10 (KJV) says, "he ('the arm of the LORD,' i.e., the 'YHVH of hosts,' Yeshua) was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And HE MADE HIS GRAVE WITH THE WICKED, AND WITH THE RICH IN HIS DEATH; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin."

That's backward. The Isaiah scroll showed that the KJV should have said that HE MADE HIS GRAVE WITH THE RICH, AND WITH THE WICKED IN HIS DEATH. Jesus was buried in the grave belonging to the rich man, Joseph of Arimathaea. Yeshua was crucified between two thieves. Thus, he was with the wicked in his death.

Even so, one of the thieves was saved by his faith in Yeshua as who he claimed to be: MAN, GOD AND KING. Luke 23:39-43 (KJV) says, "one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this MAN hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord ("kurios," GOD), remember me when thou comest into thy KINGDOM. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." II Cor. 5:19 explains, "GOD WAS IN CHRIST, RECONCILING THE WORLD UNTO HIMSELF."

What does the Stone edition of the Tanach say? Isa. 53:1-9 says, "Who would believe what we have heard! For whom has THE ARM OF HASHEM (lit., YHVH, LORD) been revealed!...But in truth, it was our ills that he bore...through his wounds, we were healed. We have all strayed like sheep, each of us turning his own way, and HASHEM inflicted upon him (the arm of HASHEM) the iniquity of us all....he had been removed from the land of the living, an affliction upon them that was my people's sin. He submitted himself to his GRAVE LIKE WICKED men; and the WEALTHY [submitted] to HIS EXECUTIONS, for committing no crime and with no deceit in his mouth."

Like the KJV, the Stone Edition has this same error. It has his grave like the wicked and his death like the wealthy. This is backward, as the copper Isaiah scroll shows. He was with the wicked thieves crucified on either side of him in his death and was buried in a wealthy man's tomb.

Only the originals were perfect. All translations depend on the knowledge of the translator and the accuracy of the scribes that came before him. Error can creap in, but they are as correct as the scribes and translators can make them. I find that it pays to read as many as possible and compare them. ...Shalom and agape

"RE:chapter 6 OF REV"...

Hi Virginia, from Marilyn Agee;

I would be interested in finding out what makes you think the Rapture could be after the 2nd seal is broken in Rev. 6:3,4.

When Christ gets the 7-sealed Title Deed to the Earth, the 24 elders of Israel and the saints out of every nation and tribe are already in Heaven (Rev. 4:1 and 5:9). When he breaks the 1st seal in Rev. 6, they are still in Heaven. When he breaks the 2nd seal, they are still in Heaven. They do not return to Earth until the Second Advent.

The Bride saints are caught up before The Beast, the rider on the white horse in Rev. 6:1,2, takes command. Rev. 13:6 shows us that The Beast will "blaspheme his (Christ's) name, and his tabernacle (dwelling place), and THEM THAT DWELL IN HEAVEN."

Those in Heaven got there at the Pre-Trib Rapture. Even the dead in Christ will have come to Earth, gotten their resurrection bodies and returned to Heaven with the living Bride of Christ before The Beast will take office. Agape

Incoming email, Re: Fig tree, or olive tree?

OK, but what about the other verses that imply the fig tree instead of the olive?

Jeremiah Chapter 24, Hosea 9:10, Joel 1: 6-7, Matthew 21:19, and Matthew 24:32 all analogize God's chosen people as the fig tree.

My reply

I'm not much help on this.

Israel is likened to more than one thing. Fig tree, figs, vine branches, grapes and an olive tree come to mind. Each fits the lesson being taught at the time. Whether every mention ties together or not, I don't know. Some certainly do.

Hos 9:10 includes both grapes and fig tree. It says, "I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved."

Mt. 24:32-34, the fig tree parable, indicates that the "branch" (klados, scion broken off for grafting) has been grafted into her old roots and is growing. This pictures Israel only.

Rom 11:24 says, "For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? This seems to include both Israel and the Gentiles. Agape
