11-11-02 - On February 18 of this year I was having breakfast in Nashville with John McTernan, co-author with me of “Israel: The Blessing or the Curse,” just before leaving for the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. John told me he felt the Lord had shown him that the Isaiah 13: 4-6 “kingdoms of nations” that “come from a far country, from the end of heaven,” to destroy Babylon, is the United States (with possible support from Britain)....
No, not the final destruction on the first day of the Lord's millennial reign. That will be accomplished by the Lord by means of the Sword of the Lord, the flaming sword of Gen. 3:24, the flaming asteroid that turns in all directions. Rev 18:21 says, "a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
The stone is also portrayed for us by a globe-shaped censer.
Isa. 22:16-19 says, "What hast thou here? (Babylon) and whom hast thou here (the Satan-possessed False Prophet), that thou (the False Prophet) hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here (at Babylon), as he (Satan) that heweth him out a sepulchre on high (on the asteroid Wormwood, Rev. 8:11, a piece of his former planet Rahab, now our asteroid belt), and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock (asteroid)? Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee. He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country (Iraq): there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house. And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down."
Rev. 8:5-13 says, "the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea (the Mediterranean, Zeph. 2:4,5): and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter."
On the day that Gog's army attacks Israel, Jer. 51:5 says, "Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts (the Redeemer, Christ, Isa. 44:6). Verse 11 says that the Lord's "device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple."
Jer 50:2, the verse I saw a rectangle of light on, says, "Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces. Verses 13,15 and 23-25 say, " Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.... are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD...How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! (the asteroid breaks into two main pieces; one hits the Mediterranean, Rev. 8:8; Zeph. 2:4,5; the other hits Babylon) how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations! I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD. The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans (Babylon)."
I wonder if Saddam's nuclear arsenal is buried beneath Nebuchadnezzar's Palace in Babylon, ready to be set off by the asteroid impact. Babylon "shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation" (Jer. 50:39). Radiation would keep people away.
Just something interesting about Yasser Arafat. In an interview on the day of the signing of the Oslo Accord Sept. 13, 1993, Arafat’s Wife, Suha, explained Arafat’s headdress "Kefir".
She explained that no other Arab wears a Kefir like her Husband Yasser Arafat. That the mount on the top of his head that he is always so careful to put into place at all times represents the Temple Mount. (Dome of the Rock) And if you will notice it is not the custom of any other Arab in the world anywhere to throw the tail of the Kefir over the right shoulder in the shape of the Nation of Israel. It is his way to say to his people that the Temple Mount will belong to the Arabs (Ishmael) and all of Israel as well.
This picture tells everything to anyone who has eyes to see with.
Congratulations and Well Done!!! (and Thank You!)
Thanks for giving me some idea of the size now. God bless. Agape
Does Passover this year start on Wednesday night or on Thursday night this coming Holy Week? I thought it interesting as the timing of this Passover and following Easter Sunday may be a mirrored image of the one 2000 years ago.
Thank you for this and the encouragement and insight that your web-page gives us all. Your Friend in Christ
> > If I undestand you correctly, Jesus had the last supper on Passover evening...on a Wednesday night and was crucified and hung on the cross for six hours on Thursday, also on Passover.
Passover was Friday, Nisan 14. Saturday was the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Nisan 15. Sunday was the Feast of Firstfruits, Nisan 16. Lev. 23:5,6 says, In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread." The Crucifixion was on Thursday, Nisan 13, the "preparation of the passover," i.e., the day before Passover, when they killed the lambs so they could be roasted and eaten on Passover, Nisan 14.
John 19:14 says, "it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!"
I think the Last Supper was after 6 PM on our Wednesday evening. That was Thursday for the Jews. Jesus was crucified at 9 AM Thursday morning. That day was Nisan 13, the preparation of the Passover. The Feast of Passover was the following day, Nisan 14. The Feast of Unleavened Bread was Nisan 15. The Resurrection was Sunday, Nisan 16. The three days and three nights were Thursday (day), Friday (night then day), Saturday (night then day), and Sunday (night).
> > Does Passover this year start on Wednesday night or on Thursday night this coming Holy Week?
Passover, Nisan 14, 5763, is on Wed. Apr. 16, 2003. It starts at 6 PM on Tuesday. However the Crucifixion was on the preparation of the passover, Nisan 13. It starts at 6 PM Monday. If the Crucifixion was on Tuesday, the 3 days would be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. That doesn't match up with the Resurrection on Sunday. Agape
The only church groups that Jesus had no words of condemnation for are Smyrna (myrrh, embalming spice that has to be crushed to release its fragrance, i.e., martyrs) and Philadelphia (brotherly love). The church of Philadelphia has members out of all groups, young churches, churches under persecution, churches under imperial favor, Catholic churches, Eastern Orthodox churches, Jewish Messianic churches, Protestant churches, etc. Our common bond is our belief that Jesus Christ is our Saviour.
I Peter 4:8 says, "above all things have fervent charity (agape love, God's kind of love) among yourselves: for charity (agape love) shall cover the multitude of sins." We should love everyone and especially every believer, no matter what local church he might attend. None are perfect, not yours or mine, but as long as we as individuals have faith in Christ, we will make it to Heaven.
What we need is to know what to watch for and to be alert enough to recognize the coming Beast of Rev. 13:2-10. He will rule "over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations (the United Nations)" (v. 7) after the Rapture catches up to Heaven all the overcomers, be they out of the Catholic church (Rev. 2:26), the Eastern Orthodox church, the Protestant church (3:5), the Philadelphian church (3:12), etc.
After we are gone, this left-behind leader will open "his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and THEM THAT DWELL IN HEAVEN" (Rev. 13:6). Verse 8 says, "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb." Right now, all religions of the world are uniting under the United Religions. During the Tribulation, the UN and UR will be ruled by the Beast of Rev. 13:2-10 for 42 months (13:5).
Jesus told us to watch. We need information to be able to see the signs of the times and have a chance to recognize the king of Rev. 17:10, the one who "IS" in power, when the Rapture takes place. At that time, "they that ARE with him (the Lamb, Christ) ARE called, and chosen, and faithful" (17:14). The one who is left behind will be the 6th head of the great red dragon. Keep watching developments.
I don't know if it will be this Pope or the next one, but Isa 9:15 shows that he will be an old man. It says, "The ancient and honourable, he is the head (6th head, king, of the great red dragon); and the prophet that teacheth lies (the False Prophet of Rev. 13:11-18), he is the tail." He will be the 7th head/king of Rev. 17:10.
As for "astrology," I wouldn't dare. The prohibition against it in the Old Testament was death. Astronomy is not astrology. Agape
Doves, do any of you have any programs that would show what day of the week Nisan 14 was on in 32 A.D.?
Please let me know asap. Would any of these programs show when the new or first visible new moon for Nisan 1 of 32 A.D. was?
J.R. Church wrote an amazing article in his magazine in April of 1997. He had the Voyager astronomy computer program. He showed some amazing celestial phenomenon for that day in addition to the supernatural signs, such as the Sun going dark. Do any of you have that Voyager program? The day that J.R. set his program for was April 14th, 32 A.D.
What I really need to know is if April 14th was Nisan 14 and was it on a Wednesday. Please help. Thanks a bunch. CAPS

> > how do the 1260, 1290 and 1335 days figure in? How can the second part be shortened and still be 1335 days long?
Here is how I understand it. All these are figured from Mid-Trib, when the abomination of desolation is placed at the temple and the sacrifice taken away (Mt. 24:15,21,22; Dan. 9:27; 12:7,11. However, these all include the1260-day shortened time, so all will be shortened by the same amount. Agape
...I visited the tomb of David on Mt. Zion. The tomb is located on the ground floor of a building which is non-descript on the outside. It is approached by way of an anteroom about the size of a standard living room. The anteroom has bookshelves with Hebrew books, descriptive materials on the walls (also in Hebrew), and a table or two. This room has two doorways opening to the room which contains the tomb, but these doorways are blocked with iron bars so the visitor may not enter into the tomb room. The large sarcophagus can be viewed by standing before, and looking through, the bars in the doorways.
The tomb is large, at least twice as large as an ordinary sarcophagus, with a sloped roof covered by drapings and mounted on the top with several metallic crowns....
After leaving the tomb, I wandered through the various rooms in the building, and came upon a doorway with a sign, "King David Museum." I didn't know there was a museum in Jerusalem devoted to King David! The curator invited me in to view the artifacts, which I did. All the signs were in Hebrew, and I was able to make out some of their significances. However, it was clear that this museum, unlike many in Israel, was designed for the benefit of Israelis, not for foreign tourists.
When I finished looking at these things, I went back to the entry and met the curator and his young son. We sat down, and he explained to me the authenticity of this site for the tomb of David, saying that the two biblical references to the location were in II Samuel and Nehemiah. He also opened for me a large red door in the wall, which covered the entry to a long, deep tunnel. He explained that they believe there is a tunnel between the old City of David and the Mt. Zion area where David's tomb is located....
I described for him the events of Acts 2, in which the Holy Spirit filled the believers and Peter proclaimed the Gospel of Christ. The Scriptures are not clear about the location, but one view is that this happened at the Temple, while another view is that the Pentecostal events occurred in the neighborhood of the Upper Room, which is on Mt. Zion near the tomb of David.
At any rate, the Apostle Peter spoke of David's tomb as he argued from Psalm 16:10 that David was not referring to himself but to his Messianic descendant. It's almost as though Peter was pointing toward the monument when he told his audience that the tomb with David's corrupted remains was plainly visible at that time.
My curator host was considerably impressed, and asked where this passage in the Psalms was located. I told him and he reached for his copy of the Hebrew Scriptures to look it up. He read and re-read the passage written by David, "You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption."
The room visited by tourists today is a Crusader structure as evidenced by the architecture. On the first floor below this room is the traditional tomb of David. The location of this "tomb" outside of the City of David precludes its authenticity but some suggest that evidence in the "tomb" indicates an early Jewish-Christian presence (or synagogue). If so, this could support this general area as the location of the biblical "Upper Room."
This sounds like the temple will be built beside the Mosque of Omar.
...Until about 100 or 150 years ago, scholars were generally agreed that this western hill was where the City of David had been located. So there was little reason to question the traditional site of David's tomb on Mt. Zion.
But then the early explorers and archaeologists got into the act. In 1838, the American Orientalist Edward Robinson crawled through a fantastic tunnel under the eastern hill that carried water from the Gihon Spring on the eastern side of the eastern hill to the other side of this hill. What was this tunnel doing under the eastern hill? In 1880, an ancient Hebrew inscription found carved into the wall of this tunnel helped the German architect Conrad Schick to identify the tunnel as the one that Judah's King Hezekiah constructed to bring water into Jerusalem, in the late eighth century B.C., in anticipation of an Assyrian siege, as described in the Bible (2 Kings 18:13-19:37; 2 Chronicles 32).
But the mystery deepened: What was all this doing under the eastern hill? A subsequent century of excavation has now conclusively established that the Canaanite (or Jebusite) city that David captured in about 1000 B.C. and that then became known as the City of David (2 Samuel 5:7) was on the eastern hill, not on the western hill. The reason why is clear: The abundant waters of the Gihon Spring flow at the base of the eastern hill....
Today, the western hill is still called Mt. Zion, but the eastern hill is known as the City of David....
The last person we know of who knew the exact location of David's tomb was Rabbi Akiva. Eventually executed by the Romans for his support of the Second Jewish Revolt, Akiva was once asked why the graves of the Davidic dynasty were allowed within the city walls despite the fact that this would cause an area to be impure. He responded that the impurity of the graves was led out of the city through a rock channel into the Kidron River.8 This is important because the Kidron lies on the east side of the eastern hill. It clearly indicates that he placed the royal tombs on the eastern slope of the eastern hill close to the Kidron Valley, just where Weill discovered the tomb complex. Akiva's testimony provides an additional reason to believe David's tomb was on the eastern hill....
To distinguish themselves from the Jews, the gentile Christians began to refer to their gatherings by the Greek word ekklesia, also meaning "assembly." This word was then applied to the gathering place and later to the church building itself. Another word for the building was the Greek kyriake, meaning "belonging to the Lord (kyrios)," from which the English word "church" is derived....
Between 1335 and 1337 A.D. the Franciscan fathers, who had just recently arrived in the Holy Land, purchased the site on Mt. Zion from the Saracens. The king of Naples served as an intermediary in this affair. Thus Mt. Zion became the first convent of the Franciscans in the Holy Land. Since then the Franciscans have been entrusted with the care of the holy places. To this day the Superior of the Franciscans carries the title Custos Sancti Montis Sion, "Custodian of Holy Mt. Zion."
The Franciscan friars repaired the roof of the cenacle (the Upper Room) in the 14th century, strengthening it with a gothic rib vaulting.
Apparently the Franciscans were never able to occupy the tomb of David on the ground floor, however. There Moslem holy men had made their abode. Indeed, local Moslems pleaded with the authorities to remove the infidels from the upper floor of the tomb of Nabi Dawood (the prophet David).
In order to hinder their return, both David's tomb and the cenacle were declared mosques. A prayer niche (mihrab) was inserted in the wall indicating the direction of prayer toward Mecca. It was exactly opposite the orientation of the niche of the first century Judeo-Christian synagogue-church, which pointed to the Holy Sepulchre.
Since 1948, Mt. Zion has been part of Israel. The government's Department of Religious Affairs now administers both floors of the building....
...Mount Zion sometimes stands for the one hill on the south-western quarter of Jerusalem, now partly within and partly without the walls, which in ancient times, however, entirely encircled its summit; and sometimes for the whole site of the city, consisting of the seven hills on which it was situated, namely, Mount Zion, Mount Acra, Mount Ophel, Mount Moriah, Mount Gareb, and Mount Goath....
Beyond these rise the mountains of Scopus (the 7th hill?) on the north, from which may be had the finest view of the city, and the Mount of Olivet (outside the city?), where it turns abruptly to the south. Olivet, after running for about three-quarters of a mile, slightly dips, and rises again in a separate hill called the Mount of Offence, where the village of Siloam, now Silwan, still clings to its steep sides...
A suburb of Jerusalem, Silwan village is honeycombed with tombs
The Upper Room, the first Nazarene (Messianic) Church of Jerusalem, is the upper floor, built over the first-floor Tomb of David and Solomon. It is south of the temple mount.
At the first Nazarene Church of Jerusalem, Gentiles were understood to be grafted in. James the Just, half-brother of Jesus, said, "Men and brethren, hearken unto me: Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name."
In In Gal. 1:18, Paul said, "Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem (for the 1st time since his conversion) to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother."
Gal 2:9 says, "when James (the Lord's brother), Cephas (Peter), and John, who seemed to be pillars (in the first Messianic church in Jerusalem), perceived the grace that was given unto me (Paul), they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen (Gentiles), and they unto the circumcision" (Jews).
James, bishop of this first Christian church, said in Eph 2:19-21, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:"
The Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan is located southeast of the southeastern corner of the Old City wall. It is east of the "City of David,"and just east of, and above, a portion of the Kidron Valley.
The village it self is built over 50 tombs from the 8th and 7th centuries B.C.
...It is a solid limestone ossuary, 20" long dated 63 A.D. enscribed in Aramaic:
YAKOV BAR YOSEF ACHUI DI YESHUA
JACOB (JAMES), SON OF JOSEPH, BROTHER OF JESUS
...The only incidences of a brother being mentioned in such a Jewish ossuary inscription would be in the case of a king or a high notable. Therefore the "Jesus" in the inscription would point to an individual of very significant importance.
Josephus records that, "James, the brother of Jesus" was martyred by stoning in 62 A.D. at the instigation of the Jewish High Priest at the time, Ananus. Public outrage among the Jewish people resulted in Ananus being deposed as High Priest soon afterwards. Yakov (James) was the Pastor of the Jerusalem Church and according to records was very dedicated in his worship. His knees, because of Praying so much, were described as those of "a donkey" they were so calloused....
The Aramaic inscription written on the ossuary is a cursive form of writing used only from about 10 A.D. to 70 A.D. After 70 A.D. this form was no longer written....
The limestone ossuary is empty and its contents not known, except the Armenian Church claims to have them in their cathedral in old Jerusalem. The artifact resides in a private collection in Israel. The owner said that he paid between $200.00 and $700.00 for the box 15 years ago. He purchased it from an Arab dealer who said it came from Silwan. Silwan is a Jerusalem suburb with numerous burial caves and tombs south of the Mount of Olives.
"If you study the loculus where the body of Jesus was laid, you will notice that about three inches of the granite rock was very hurriedly removed at the foot of the tomb. The walls of the sepulchre are all finely chiselled, but this is rough chiselling. To me it is obvious that the loculus was formed to accommodate Joseph, who would have been about 5 foot 8 inches tall. Workmen hurriedly lengthened the tomb to accommodate Jesus' body, which according to measurements of the space indicates He was 5 foot eleven inches tall!
